@mariabele I feel this! My grandma has been so pushy getting me to tell people (including people that I hardly have a relationship with). And then I go “well, you’re super excited to tell them so why don’t you just do it on my behalf”. And she won’t 🙄
I am so happy, I get to find out my baby's gender in 11 days now. I was allowed to change my appt to a few days before my 18 week mark because I have been measuring 3-4 days ahead any way so it shouldnt make a difference.
I also plan on surprising my hunny with a gender reveal since he kind of wants one and my sis wants to plan something(guess shes bored)
@lizanet is that your anatomy scan appointment? Just curious because I have a day off in January and would really like to schedule my scan for that day, but I’ll only be 18+3, so not sure the doctor will agree to it.
@kjack86 YES ! what my MFM doc office told me was the best time is between 18-20 weeks. after 20 weeks it gets harder to see some of what they need to measure. Definitely ask the doctors office if its a possibility especially if you prefer a specific date.
@bbluemoo OMG! My MIL and SIL said the same thing! Actually my MIL said she wanted to be in the room!! I tried to shut that down right away but she just said “well we will see” and then gave me husband a huge guilt trip 🤦🏻♀️. I honestly don’t want anyone in the room or waiting room other then my husband. There are so many things going on and so many things that can go wrong, I wouldn’t want the added pressure of family lurking over our shoulders. At least you will have an hour buffer, all our family lives super close. Good luck!
So with DS I had every intention of just not telling anyone until after he was born, but pre-eclampsia, a hospital stay and induction kind of messed with my plans. Luckily my MIL couldn't get a flight till the afternoon after my induction was started and my parents were super cool about not coming to the hospital till we called (my husband called while I was still laboring because he was super freaked out because we were having some issues with DSs heart rate.) And they stayed in the waiting room till I said they could come in. MIL got in super late and didnt come till the next morning. This time DS will be staying with my parents and we will call for them to bring him to the hospital when we are ready and he will be the first in to see his brother. I really am very lucky that everyone has respected all my wishes, but for those who dont have that I highly recommend just not telling anyone till you are ready for them to come meet baby.
My MIL is thankfully not the type to want to be in the room or waiting room and happily waited until DH called her and she and FIL came to the hospital the next day. I had a csection at 2 am so ended up having to stay an extra night since no doctor is there at 2 am to discharge you. It was fine. My parents and brother were in the waiting room. I ended up being induced at 7 am, and I told them they really didn’t need to come right away but they did and then I didn’t have DS until 2 am. They were able to see him through the nursery window while I was getting stitched up and then came back in the morning. We were hesitant about all this but honestly it was fine. DH did not feel like he needed to go provide them updates but I think went out once or twice to say hi and for food when I was napping after my epidural. He got really emotional when they told him I needed a csection and I was so out of it I’m glad my mom was there to talk him down. This time they’ll hopefully watch DS for us so we’ll see how it all goes down.
@rothkristan Sorry to open up dead thread, but sounds to me like sciatica pain and maybe some SPD pain too, they can occur together or separately, but basically same cause, slightly different location. Too much relaxin causing early spreading of lower pelvic area joints, and the sciatica causes leg numbness from nerve getting messed with, and the SPD is basically either pain from misalignment in pelvis, or in more extreme cases pain from constant instability where pelvis comes shift with all movement. Chiropractic care can especially help with sciatica issues and some alignment issues, exercises and support bands can help with instability, as well as very particular body awareness while weight bearing.
