December FET

Re: December FET

  • Unfortunately my beta was negative.  I go back again on Sunday to discuss next steps. Super bummed.  Three ivfs and three transfers in 2019 and all BFN.  Hopefully 2020 is our year.  Good luck to you ladies!  Hoping you get your rainbow babies this year.
  • @lunagirlnyc I’m so sorry! Don’t give up hope. Take a break, reset mind and body and make a new plan for 2020. I had a very similar experience to you with three ivf and three failed  transfer and my last protocol my re changed everything on my stim meds and we elected to do a fresh and not frozen transfer. Just an idea. Ask your RE a kit options because their goal should be to get you pregnant and with child :) wishing you the best for 2020

  • @lunagirlnyc, so sorry :( Hoping 2020 will the the year for you! Three IVFs in one year sounds rough, let the next one be the magic one!

I'm 8dpt, and at this point I'm just waiting for my negative beta in 2 days so that I can finally stop progesterone pills and PIO - I'm getting some bad reaction to the shots, so both back sides are red, inflamed, and super itchy. I don't even know how I'm going to do the last 2 injections.
Today I also realized that I'm a little depressed. The BFN on HPTs + hormonal overload isn't a great mix. I'm super sleepy, anti-social, and I just want to crawl in my lonely cave and ponder about fertility treatment, chances going forward, etc. In-laws are in town, but I keep skipping on going places with them. I didn't have a baby fever until I realized that this FET isn't going to work, and now it's in a full-swing. I need a glass of wine, but of course I have to wait 2 more days till the official Beta to drink (already told husband that he owes me a bottle of good quality wine as a consolation prize, and I'll get to drink sparkly for the NY eve.).

I'm super excited for those who got their BFPs this cycle - it gives me lots of hope chances of success are good! Hope you're all feeling well, pregnancy goes great, and you will take home your sweet bundles of joy at the end of Summer 2020 <3
And for those who go the BFNs - we get to hang out on this board longer and support each other with whatever the next step for each of us is <3

  • @itsbriemiller thanks!  Yeah she and I are meeting tomorrow afternoon to go over next steps and options.

@FuzzyDust I’m so sorry.  I’m sure it’s just agonizing.  Hoping the next few days go by quickly for you and your next transfer brings you your rainbow baby!
  • @FuzzyDust I'm so sorry.  I had a bad reaction to my PIO as well.  What is the base it's in?  For me instead of sesame oil, they gave me olive oil, and I also stopped using any heat on the injection site.

Honestly, I would call the nurse and tell them what's going on, see if they can do your beta first thing in the morning instead of waiting another day. (((Hugs)))
  • @BusinessWife, my PIO is the regular sesame oil one. Did olive oil help, of was it the one giving you bad reaction? I think with just the 2 days left (and clinic being closed on the weekend anyways), I'm going to endure the red bumps and the itch. Beta is already first thing in the morning on Monday and the results should be available the same day. Considering that I do shots before bed, it means that I won't need to do them anymore after the weekend.
BTW, reading your signature makes me so happy :)

  • @FuzzyDust  ah, yeah that's tough if you know they aren't open Sundays anyway :/ yeah, I was surprised because it's not like I have an allergy to sesame otherwise?  But since switching to the olive oil, I never had that issue again. 🤷

But you wanna know what's really weird, after my first natural cycle TFAS failed, we went back to medicated (because it had worked before) but then it was so bizarre - my progesterone never rose. 🙃🙃🙃 So we sent the oil out to be tested; no word back yet, but anyway we just went back to natural cycle after that, so I didn't use it again anyway.  But when we were TTC our first, that's when my second (successful) cycle I used the olive oil for like 8 or 10 weeks(!) with no reaction whatever.

And thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️ If there's anything this recent experience has taught me, it's not to give up hope. 😊 (((Hugs)))
  • Took my beta today and wont get the results til tomorrow morning, likely. Took a FRER and it was negative. Hopefully, 3rd time's the charm in 2020...moving over to the February FET, congrats to all here with (+)

  • covergirl2985, I also gave away some blood this morning, but results should be in later today. My home tests were all stark white till last morning (didn't care enough to test today, pretty much came to terms with the results already), so I'm just waiting for the official number so that I could go drink tonight (and no more PIO!!!) :)

  • And the results are in: BFN. It's weird, but I think husband still had hope, because he got super upset, even though I kept repeating to him for a few days now that I'm most def not pregnant...
I already send an appointment request to the new clinic... Way to set resolutions for a new year :)

  • Beta results are <2.....my husband cried even though I've had negative tests since 5dpt...we are switching clinics as well with a consult booked for 1/7. My 1st transfer, the tech couldnt hold the US machine in the right place so the MD actually had to get someone else to hold it...I didnt have any blood tests to monitor my medication, they told me, "You're on enough, no need to test." When that FET failed, I didn't have any follow up consult, just a call to book my next FET.
2nd transfer, my MD "Couldn't quite see the top of your uterus, but I've done this 1000 times, not to worry." Well, another $5k down the drain and no pregnancy, I want some answers, I want closer monitoring and I want a f-ing baby already.
Albeit, I went to a low-cost clinic, I got Dollar Store treatment...hopefully this next clinic will be able to take my remaining 3 embryos and help me get this baby I so desire.
    Happy New Year to all!

  • *lurk*
@covergirl2985 I think you're making a good call. I feel like a lot of women go through some kind of treatment without really being monitored and don't find success until they switch to someone else who looks at everything much more closely and does things more properly.

I shake my head a bit when I see people do back to back FETs with nothing in-between because I've had 1 FET failure with a PGS tested normal embryo and that immediately yielded the plan of going through loss testing and a biopsy (I have mine on the 6th) for inflammation and to check the timing of the FET. My RE was basically like you. should. be. pregnant. There was no "let's try that again". At a follow up she said if it doesn't work a 2nd time then I get put on a dairy and gluten free diet as she said for some reason with some people dairy and gluten prevent/hinder getting pregnant.

I understand sometimes it does just take a 2nd try without doing anything different but I like that my RE is going through the steps to make sure we have the right timing and protocol so we're not wasting embryos.

    Best of luck to you!
