Re: December FET

  • covergirl2985 - yay for a smooth transfer! I just came back home from mine too, which also went well :) Now on to wait till Beta on Dec 30th  :#

Last time I felt first symptoms around 5dp6dt, and got a positive home test the next day, so I'll probably start testing around that time again. I just want it to work so much, as it's our last embryo.

marfi236 - oh yes!!! that number looks awesome! Good luck with your second Beta, it sucks that you have to wait so long in between.

My full of hormones body is super restless. Hoping that parents/in-laws in town will keep me distracted at least a little bit 😬

  • @marfi236 that’s so hard to wait like that. My
Clinic  does every 2-3 days for the first three blood tests and a 6 week ultrasound. My thoughts are with you as you endure the wait because I know how hard it is between those first three and waiting
  • FuzzyDust!  Can't tell if what i'm feeling is the drugs or the embryo nestling in there.  Praying it's just setting up home.  Only three days in so hopefully all the holiday activity will keep me busy.

Do you all have a lot going on this week or are you resting before beta?
    FuzzyDust
  • @lunagirlnyc and @FuzzyDust I am 3dpt and dying to test but know it would be silly at this point. I keep thinking I have little cramps or twinges, hopefully good signs. Other than that, no real symptoms. Boobs are a little sore, but that could be from the PIO and progesterone suppositories.

  • covergirl2985  Nothing with my boobs but definitely feel sore in my uterus.  I feel like I had this last time and ended with BFN.  I do think the pains are bit more intense this time so fingers crossed.  I’m 3dpt so maybe too soon?  I find most women report new symptoms at 5dpt.  I plan to go to the movies with my family the next few days to try and take my mind off of it.
  • @lunagirlnyc, @covergirl2985,
I’m 2dpt, and I’m spending way too much time trying to listen to my uterus  :D
We have lots of family in town (my parents till tomorrow, in-laws till after New Year), plus a toddler with hand-foot-mouth disease, so plenty to keep me distracted.
I’m feeling so tired lately, but not sure if it’s due to the hormones or just lack of sleep.

  • @covergirl2985 @FuzzyDust @lunagirlnyc sorry if I missed anyone else. :-)  transfer went very smoothly on the 19th, and my in laws were in town this weekend so I was not online at all. starting Thursday night, all day Friday and Saturday I had quite a bit of cramping and I could have sworn I felt some pinching. but maybe it's because I wanted to feel it, who knows. Sunday just had heartburn and felt really tired. today I feel tired and starting to feel depressed, but I think that's the hormones. that happened to me when I did IUI and did prometrin suppositories. @marfi236 congratulations!!! :-D  @justharrison that's a bummer, but glad you get to start a new cycle right away. BETA is 12/30, and I was thinking of taking a test the Saturday before, and my husband says I shouldn't. but I want to have some idea of what to expect at my BETA and I am already getting so anxious! good luck to everyone!

  • ladythor31  All of your symptoms sound promising!

Here’s to a relaxing week for all of us.  May our nerves not get the best of us.
  • @lunagirlnyc definitely trying to not let my nerves run my life right now, but it's so hard! a pedicure may be in store so I can try to keep my wits about me. :-)

  • Hello!  Glad it sounds like everyone's recent transfers went smoothly.  I have a terrible time with the app and the mobile web site on my phone so it's challenging for me to keep up.  As businesswife mentioned, this can be a weighty time for transfers, but I think (at least for me) it can be nice to keep busy to pass the time.  And we're lucky our waits aren't a full two weeks (although it's not like we're not waiting prior to transfer).

@FuzzyDust It seems hand, foot, and mouth is quite common - I hope your little one isn't too uncomfortable :(  I've seen multiple exposure notices at daycare, and the idea of having a suppressed immune system among all the daycare germs (currently DD's class has notices for HFM & pinkeye - not to mention the usual colds and bugs) makes me a little nervous.

AFM, beta is tomorrow morning (8dp5dt - I would have another two days later - my clinic just does two).  My RE told me I could test today (7dp5dt) if I wanted - so of course I tested yesterday (6dp5dt) and *TW*
appear to have gotten faint positives on FRERs yesterday afternoon (didn't have FRERs till then) and this morning (far too faint for DH's comfort).  Like yesterday's and (even this morning's) looks like an evap line.
I'll pee on another stick tomorrow morning before beta, 'cause why not?
For my other two transfers, beta was 9dp5dt, but I suspect it's a day earlier this time because of the holiday.  Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

It’s Christmas Eve  and I’m exactly 6 weeks and have 1st ultrasound on Thursday afternoon....this is my first pregnancy with ivf. I had very
light spotting on and off this am. Anyone know if that’s normal? I’ve read some places it is unless it becomes heavy like a period
    artemis618lunagirlnyc
  • @itsbriemiller my RE told me it is VERY common for IVF pregnancies to have spotting and SCHs. I had both for the first 9-12weeks of my successful pregnancy 😃 try not to worry and enjoy the holiday
    artemis618lunagirlnyc
  • @itsbriemiller, I heard that it’s quite common, as long as it’s light.

I’m 4dpt, feeling nothing super special yet, and today I busted out my pregnancy tests from the transfer 2 years ago to check when I got my first positive. It was at 5 days, and I remember feeling “off” that morning and going to the store right away to get the most sensitive test (FRER). I’m flip-flopping between “it’s not going to work, I’m asking too much from my luck reserve, it probably was lost somewhere during the transfer itself” and “it’s definitely working”. I’m trying not to put all my “emotional eggs” into tomorrow morning “basket”. Just because I had fast implantation last time, nothing is guaranteed for this one.
the wait is the worst  :s

  • @itsbriemiller completely normal as long as it’s not a full period or painful.
AFM - my progesterone suppositories weren’t delivered yesterday so I freaked out. I’m supposed to take 3x/day. Luckily the nurse told me to take a PIO shot, but still don’t like screwing up the schedule.
Still no symptoms either at 5dpt. Really trying not to feel down about it, but as you all know, the 2ww is cruel and all you want is a symptom or 2 to make you feel like you’ve got a chance. My friend is newly preg from a FET and she didn’t have any symptoms either except for some spotting around day 7.
Trying really hard not to test today or tomorrow. Beta is Monday, but I’d really like to have an idea of where I stand before. Maybe test on Sunday at 10dpt.

  • Hang in there @FuzzyDust.  Everything about this is such a mind f*ck.  The earliest I'd tested after an FET before was 7dp5dt.  This time I did at 6dp5dt, and sort of wish I hadn't because I hate squinters.  But also I feel like I just have late implanters.

Try not to worry about symptoms - I still don't think I have any symptoms (I attribute my sore back to my 19 # one year old).

Otherwise, first beta today came back at 8dp5dt (again, a day earlier than they usually do them because of the holiday) was 139.  I'll repeat the bloodwork on Friday.  Definitely a step in the right direction, but it's hard for me to get excited because the first one we transferred was 153 or something like that (it's in my signature) and it doubled as it was supposed to and *TW* we still lost her before 6 weeks (I only saw the sac at the 5ish week scan). On the other hand, first beta with DD was only 67 then it more then tripled in two days, and here she is.

  • @covergirl2985, I wouldn’t worry too much about progesterone suppositories vs injections - progesterone stays in your body for a while (long half-life), and the usual prescription is already many times more than the base line needed.
@artemis618 - yes!!! Celebrate the small victories! Let it grow!!!
I love squinters, as those mean hope :)

happy Christmas Eve to everyone who celebrates!

  • Marry Christmas!!!

I caved in and bout 3 FRER tests yesterday, to test every day starting today. Today is day 5, I don’t feel symptoms, and test has a sad lonely line. I know that there is still a chance, but it’s hard not to feel disappointed so far. This is our last good embryo, and IVF sucked big time. If this one doesn’t work, I’ll most likely be switching clinics and seeing if it’s be possible to attempt IUI again (I over-react to fsh, so one time we tried, I had way too many follies growing at the same rate).

@FuzzyDust 5 days is really early!  I know it’s stressful when the symptoms go away.  I hear it’s normal for a lot of women.  Hoping you get a positive soon.

  • Merry 🌲 6dpt and I’m exhausted, very bah humbug and maybe BBs are a little sore. Dying to test but know 6dpt is still early and don’t want to ruin Xmas. When we transferred 2 (CP) I had Very sore BBs and exhausted the whole time. Hoping since we only transferred 1, that’s why the symptoms are less than before. Beta on Monday. We’re all gonna have a great Xmas gift this year ladies!!! 🙏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻

  • Day 6, still no symptoms. At this point I’m pretty much thinking about next step plans. I know there is still a very tiny chance of a super late implantation, but having a plan helps me accept what’s the most likely scenario right now and be ok with it.

hope the rest of you are waking up nauseated (that was my strongest symptom last time) 😂

  • @FuzzyDust totally get it.  Mentally i've been doing the same.  I have a heaviness still and a warm feeling in my lower abdomen every now and then but no sore BB or nauseousness.  Hoping little to no symptoms still means we have a chance.  Hope your day is relaxing!

  • @FuzzyDust @lunagirlnyc  Aw...do what you have to do - but I'm still optimistic for you.  Today you're PUPO.

And @FuzzyDust if you must plan, switching RE/clinics made a huge difference for us - details in signature (3 cycles for 1 normal at first clinic, 6 normals in 3 cycles at the second - 4 of which were from my first cycle at the new clinic.  Although at both I had one cycle with no blasts to test - almost exactly a year apart (a day off) - I blame holiday sugar consumption for those - and possibly very foolishly getting a mammogram without the cover thing before I cycled for the second).  We only want two kids, but we freaked out after *TW* miscarrying the first one we transferred so went back for more embryos since to us it was a now or never situation with my age.

@covergirl2985 Have you managed to hold out?  Testing the day before beta is very reasonable (I couldn't make it that long :p I appear to have always tested two days before, but this time my RE actually told me I could test the day before/7dp5dt if I wanted to).

@covergirl2985 - keeping fingers crossed for both of us! FRER is still a lonely line at 6dpt for me.

@artemis618 looks like switching clinics really made a difference for you! My currently clinic doesn't seem too bad (I mean, we have an 18 months old to show for it), but it seems to change a lot in the last 2 years. For this FET, I had to wait at least 40 mins each time when I came to see my doctor, and they moved to a smaller space, so not sure if they're that popular. Also, we moved 2 years ago, and they are just out of the way for me, especially considering how often I'd have to come in for an IVF process. there is another much more popular clinic on my way to work, and at the same hospital as my OBGYN, so I'd give that one a try. I think I still have 1.75 cycles left with my insurance (IVF+transfer = 1 cycle, FET = 0.25 cycle), so there is still hope.

I have a very itchy and sore bump from yesterday PIO. it's red and firm, and maybe an inch in diameter :( hoping it'll dissolve before I have to inject that side again tomorrow night  :s Maybe that's the reason they don't recommend doing home pregnancy tests, so people don't give up and stop PIO preemptively, because today that's how I feel - I'll have to do 4 more injections feeling that they are for nothing at this point.

  • 7dpt. Still a single line staring back at me from a home test. So sad 😞 maybe I’ll skip the HPTs next time and try to enjoy PUPO bliss...
I started a new bottle of PIO yesterday, as well as a new injection kits, and something really irritates my skin - I now have big red firm bumps on both of my sides. Might try different alcohol swabs today. It’ll be hard to find a non-affected spot for injection.
3 more to go before Beta...

I’ve been researching reproductive clinics in my area, and I think the one that’s closest to me (and on my way to work) will be best for the next step. I’m all restless again and want to start doing things that move us closer to the goal, I hate this “hanging in the unknown” state. Today I also had a conversation with husband about “what if our son ends up being our only child”. He’s always so positively optimistic, and believes in success.

  • @covergirl2985, I see it too!!!  :) maybe try a FRER test, as they are more sensitive (or don’t, peeing on sticks can be an obsession 😬)
may the line grow stronger!!!! I’m so keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

  • @covergirl2985 Just saw your update.  I mentioned that I hate squinters because my old eyes can't handle them, but I see...*something* on the top one.  I second trying a FRER - I just yesterday got a positive on an old wondfo (although I wasn't trying them every day, as I like my lines to be beat me over the head, glaringly obvious).  With my natural pregnancy I didn't get a positive till 16DPO (but I wasn't testing every day either).

AFM, second beta today (11dp5dt) came back at 482 (from 139, 72 hours before).  So now we wait some more...
