Re: December FET

  • vetgirl2011 just got my preliminary date of 12/20! Next apt is on 12/17.
  • @justharrison. I'm so sorry.  Hang in there!  It really is very early still. (((Hugs)))
  • Loading the player...
  • My lining check today was @ 7mm so we are good to go for our FET 2 on 12/19!!!
I did ALL the things...I ate beets, pomegranates and spinach, drank beet and pomegranate juice, had 1c of bone broth every 8 hours on top of the Estradiol Val shots and Estrace pills  Hopefully my lining will be closer to 9-10mm by Thursday.
Stage 2 of meds start today: baby aspirin, pre-natal vit, progesterone suppositories 3x/day, estrace 3 pills/day, PIO shots every 3 days, as well as medrol and an antibiotic...just remembering to take off of these is a full day of work!
Fingers crossed and prayers for everyone! 2020 will be a great year for everyone!

    covergirl2985!  Great news!
  • edited December 2019
@covergirl2985 wonderfull update!  So glad to hear you got a transfer date!  GL

@itsbriemiller congratulations!!! 🎉🎉🎉 My nurse said she wanted to see 66% rise, so that sounds perfect!  Not sure whether or not that could indicate* more than one or not, but I would say you're off to a great start. It must be hard wondering if you may have lost one. (((Hugs))). Fx you get more information and some peace of mind soon.
  • Great news @lunagirlnyc! Less than a week away!

Congratulations @BusinessWife and @itsbriemiller I’m so happy for you both!

@covergirl2985 I had to set multiple alarms on my phone to remind me about all the different meds!

AFM, I finally broke down and tested yesterday. BFN. My beta is tomorrow, but I’m not very hopeful. At least we still have some frozen embies and can try again in a couple of months.
  • Thank you @BusinessWife that does make me feel better.... @vetgirl2011 will be thinking of you and hoping for the best, tomorrow and down the road with your embies on ice :)
  • Thanks @vetgirl2011. I'm so sorry for the bfn.  I know how absolutely devastating it can feel.  I hope you enjoy a peaceful holiday, and GL with your next transfer! ❤️❤️❤️
  • @BusinessWife congratulations!!!! Im so happy for you!
@vetgirl2011 im sorry you got a bfn, im in the same boat 🙁. My beta is tomorrow but there isnt even a chance of a postive. All my tests have been stark white. i hope your next go is successful!
  • @vetgirl2011, @justharrison, so sorry for the bfn on the pee sticks. I still hope that maybe Beta proved those wrong? :( But if not, hope your next one will be the magical one!

@covergirl2985, sound like your transfer is just a day before mine, and we have the same date for the Beta! Glad your lining got the message and caught up :)
@lunagirlnyc is the 12/20 date for the transfer? When is Beta?

@BusinessWife, @itsbriemiller woo-hoo!!!! I'm so happy to see the BFPs for the Dec FETs!
@marfi236 the line is def there!! eeee!!!

@artemis618 Happy 1st Birthda to your little one, and good luck with the transfer today!

AFM, Had lining check last Fri after 2 weeks of estrogen, and it was nice triliminal and 8.5mm already. So I started PIO last night. yay.... Thankfully, my doctor gave me numbing cream again, so that helps with the injection pain (or maybe it's all placebo, but it's still helping). Husband is excited to do those, and I don't know if I'd ever be able to do it myself. Also starting Medrol today.
Does anyone get insomnia from Progesterone? I don't know if it's the meds, or I'm just getting more emotional and it's affecting my sleep. I also started seeing weird very vivid dreams.
Thu is one more blood test to check progesterone and then transfer on Fri (12/20)!

FuzzyDust yep that’s the date for fet.  Get the beta date tomorrow.  Started my PIO as well today.  Butt is definitely sore...

@vetgirl2011@justharrison  Fingers crossed for both of you.  Praying that it’s just late implantations. 🙏🏽
  • lunagirlnyc, yay, transfer day buddies!
I'm thinking if I should use a warm compress for a bit after the shots to reduce the muscle pain :# I do it right before going to bed at night, so don't have an opportunity to "walk it out" afterwards.

and for you- the PIO cream, please share! I was always prescribed Synera patches which are WAY too expensive and so I just ice for 10-12 minutes and I rarely feel a thing but I’d love to get a cream.
i don’t know if it’s the pio but yes, not just insomnia, I can even fall asleep but ross and turn after about 3-4 hours of sleep.
  • @justharrison sorry to hear that, but happy to hear your reaction is to push ahead and try again. You will persevere! Well wishes for your next cycle!
  • itsbriemiller this is the cream

  • hello everyone!!! I was lurking a little on this page since I was a part of the October and November pages, due to needing a surgery before we can do our transfer. Transfer is scheduled for 12/19 though, same as some of you it looks like. Praying we all have the best of luck. and to anyone doing the POI shots right now, I feel you. you have to try to relax so it hurts less, but it's hard to relax when someone is jamming a huge needle into your cheek! You are all amazing, and have been through so much. baby dust to everyone! :-D
  • FuzzyDust yeah I started the heating pad today.  World of difference!
  • ladythor31 oh so glad we are around the same time!

marfi236 just emailed my doctor about it.  Thanks for the tip!

justharrison I’m so sorry for the negative test.  Hoping the next one is your rainbow baby!
  • @artemis618 thinking of you! ❤️❤️❤️
  • lunagirlnyc  it's great that we have pretty much the same transfer date. so excited for you! and I can't wait until tomorrow :-D
  • What does everyone do for FET prep? Being that this is #2 for me, I'm definitely feeling less anxious since I know the procedure. I know the 2WW and beta on 12/30 can't come soon enough.
What do you do the day before (today) for prep? Do you increase your water intake? Leafy greens, pomegranate juice, etc....just seeing what old wives tales everyone has going on.
I am feeling a little guilty bc I had 2 bourbon drinks last night at our church group xmas party, hopefully, that doesnt affect anything tomorrow.
Good luck all! Keep us all posted!

  • I usually do pom juice, pomegranate, beets and beet juice for most of my FP, and then switch to pineapple after transfer!  And yes, lots and lots of water.  You can also do RRL tea up until transfer, but then stop until third trimester.  GL!!!! @covergirl2985
  • covergirl2985 - maybe the bourbon will help, as it makes you relaxed  :D
I don't do anything special for the day before transfer, just try to get good rest at night and be well hydrated.
I'm actually planning to have a little bit of sake tomorrow night (day before transfer), as we're planning to have sushi, and if everything works, it'll be the last time I can drink/eat sushi for a while. I'm a firm believer that the state of mind is the most influential factor, so my plan is to simply stay positive and get a good night sleep.

Good luck to everyone who's transferring in the next few days (I think there are 4 of us in the batch :) )!

  • covergirl2985  this will be my first transfer, but I have been drinking bone broth, and then will have some beet juice later. I have been drinking a lot of water, and trying to be relaxed. watching funny movies definitely helps me to feel better. I don't have my beta scheduled yet, which makes me nervous. but I plan on taking a test next week Saturday. I would imagine that should be enough time, since my transfer is in the AM, right? :-)

FuzzyDust  I love seeing that there are some people who have the same transfer date or close to, so we can all keep each other updated.

I'm so excited for everyone! :-D good luck ladies!

@artemis618 , how did your transfer go?
@FuzzyDust @BusinessWife Thanks so much for checking in!

I'm so sorry I'm so terrible at keeping up with everyone, but I really am rooting for you all!  I'd never before let my unread emails get over 400 (not usually over like 80), but that happened this week.  But...I have a little lull at work at the moment.

We actually rescheduled baby's pictures to the following day (Tuesday) so she had to spend a few hours at daycare before going to get 4 shots on her birthday, but it made the day a little less hectic.  Transfer happened right on schedule.  Bladder was appropriately full (which doesn't even compare to how uncomfortably full I get when distracted at work), there was apparently some obstacle (my RE doesn't do a "practice" one till right before) around which to work that involved the embryologist's assistance, but with that sorted my RE said it was as perfect a transfer as one could hope for.  Last two times I did the on site acu before and after, but I skipped it this time in the interest of time (okay and $500).  So they had me lay there for 10 minutes (it was supposed to be 5, but I kind of noticed with the full bladder), let me pee, and sent us on our way.

Beta seems a touch early to me on 12/24 (eek) at 8dp5dt.  My last first betas were 9 days after so I guess it's not that early.  I will probably cave and POAS next Monday at 7dp5dt - but I don't even have any FRERs on hand so would have to go buy some.

The only think I did before was to take Valium the night before :p. I asked this new IVF coordinator chick (nurse) to give me one for the night before and one for before the procedure - and she gave me 5mg tabs.  Fortunately, I had a 10mg leftover from previous transfers, so I took that the night before and the two 5s (+ibuprofen) right before transfer (it didn't occur to me before yesterday that they don't want you signing anything on Valium :p)

Post transfer, we got me some McDonald's fries (conveniently right next to our pediatrician's office.  The embryologist (oddly?) told me to have electrolytes after but DH didn't actually get me any till late last night (so like 30 hours after transfer).  I have been stupid thirsty today though - probably the salty breakfast burrito I had this morning didn't help.

@FuzzyDust I know OBs have different positions, but mine told me I could have sushi (still avoiding high mercury fish) as long as it's from somewhere reputable (my OB mentioned Sugarfish specifically, so that's where we went!  Also, they have a ridiculous birthday thing where if you eat there just twice in the year before your birthday you get a free omakase on your birthday.  Totally worth the side eye at 7 months :p)

Good luck to everyone with upcoming transfers!!

  • @lunagirlnyc thank you! I already started AF and start meds on friday for a new cycle.
    Good luck on your transfer!
  • Best wishes to all the ladies with transfers, starting today and over the next few days.

The only advice my RE always says is to rest, eat well and hydrate. So much of the implantation is the quality of the embryo, and the uterine lining thickness and timing of the transfer. I would not go crazy trying to find all of the foods and drinks, unless you’ve already got some of them on hand. Best to do whatever helps you relax. Read a book, get a pedicure, acupuncture if you have the funds

Hopefully the holidays are an added distraction for that 2ww before betas! Happy holidays all!
  • Not sure if this is a dumb question but how soon after a transfer can you fly?  I"m going to ask my doctor tomorrow as well.  I have the holidays back home so 3 days after the transfer.  I plan to do acupuncture before flight.

  • artemis618, the problem with reputable sushi as I have no idea what places are considered "reputable" :D

lunagirlnyc - I don't think there is a flying limitation for this early, as long as you're back for your beta, as there are no other monitoring appointments in between :)

102!  The nurse said that was a great number for 8dpt!  Unfortunately, I have to wait a week for my second beta (just the way my clinic does it) so I'll be peeing on lots of sticks between now and then!

  • @covergirl2985 I had the same problem 2 FETs ago, tested early and got positives but ended up with a CP.  Didn't stop me from testing early again this time (I'd rather know what to expect before I go in for my beta) and at 5dpt, if it's negative, you're not out, I didn't get a positive test until 6dpt last time!
