Normally I don't get bothered by people's backhanded comments but today I ran into one odd my grandmother's friends and she made the comment "oh your pregnant? I thought you just gave up after the last one." WTF! This was after my daughter excitedly said she was happy to finally get a little sister. Now I feel like a giant whale woman.
I am getting so impatient for February to come. Last night I had a dream that I could run fast enough to speed up time. Then since DH isn't around I was talking to DD about it this morning. I said, can you fast forward time from running? She laughed and was like nooooooo but that question was surely way over her head.

I'm not ready for another round of super cold weather. Yesterday it was almost 50° at this time, today it's 17°. Definitely called for some peppermint hot chocolate, baby's gonna be going nutso soon! I guess at this point I'm just hoping the forecast for Christmas is close enough to accurate right now. I'm looking forward to seeing my parents for Christmas and that involves a 5ish hour drive!
@leksiL Hahah that's such a cute response. I feel like the dreams that have been manifesting lately have been CRAZY.
So I'm in a weird situation. My SIL is throwing my shower which is amazing and wonderful and I'm forever grateful. But she threw a bomb on me that my BIL will be attending with my nephews. My nephews can be a little bit of a handful and my BIL will outright SCREAM at them which has always just been too much. Wondering why he isn't going out with my husband who is his brother with the guys? Like they're going to a local restaurant and was invited but it's just weird to me that he turned it down and would rather be at a shower with the ladies...
@mandk1233 Yeah we tried. Like he made a point to be like "you should come hang out with us guys" and his brother made a comment that he's not going to a bar? I mean the restaurant HAS A BAR but it's not like they're going to get drunk in the middle of the day haha.
Ohhh we just got good news at work! The first of the moms on my team had her baby yesterday (we think). They were team green and had a little boy! My baby is outnumbered now since the one due a month after her is also a boy! They were all commenting on how big of a baby he was (8lbs and some oz) and i was like oh....I'm not expecting a small baby! But then again, she is a smaller lady, like 5'2", 110lb kind of small and well....I'm not. Haha
@brookert615, my thoughts about your BIL is that he doesn’t want to take the nephews with him to the restaurant alone. My H freaks out about stuff like that and I’m like “Dude, how do you think I do anything??? She comes with me!”
One of my husband's best friends was due 6 weeks before me, but had to be induced on Sunday because they were worried about how small the baby was. She just posted pictures of him and this pregnant mama is now a hormonal, tearful, happy mess. Seeing him is making me so much more excited to meet our little one.
@brookert615 I feel like your BIL made this choice because he doesn’t want to take care of his kids on his birthday, and is hoping his wife will just take care of them while also hosting.
@brookert615 I am not sure I understand. Why can't your BIL leave the kids at the shower and go hang out woth the guys? How old are the nephews?

@rikiteacup I don't understand his reasoning either other than what the girls said above about just not wanting to watch the kiddos. At first he was just going to stay home with the boys and take them to an event that night. But I'm thinking since his wife is hosting she will be busy so really won't be able to focus on watching them so that option isn't on the table. And ages are 1.5 and the other is 4!
Poor DS1. Sunday night he woke at 10:30 whimpering and then it turned into a full sob. He was saying he hit his ear on the door. I finally figured out his ear hurt but he was just confused why. We gave him Tylenol to help with the pain until I could get him to the doctor yesterday. Double ear infection. And now this morning liquid was draining a bit from the left, which means the ear drum ruptured. He was also complaining he couldn’t hear well. Ya...I got a chunk of wax the size of a pea out of there 🤢
@daffodil_shoe - ouch I'm sorry. DD has had about 10 ear infections and they are never fun. It's nice when they get to an age where they can tell you what's wrong! I hope your son's meds kick in quickly.

Hubs is almost done with work on the Tahoe which will become my vehicle to drive once babies are here. Then he needs to fix the shower through the wall of the nursery before we can’t paint it. I need a bunch of nursery furniture- we got tons of clothes at the shower but have no cribs, mattresses, etc.
To top it off, hubs got in a car accident yesterday. No injuries (thank goodness!) but the car needs to go to the shop, may be totaled (it’s older with a lot of miles and other little bits of body damage) but he didn’t follow up with insurance yesterday, just waited for them to call (which they didn’t) so we still need to start that process. He worked on the Tahoe all day instead which really need done but ugh. And I’m feeling super exhausted by work, standing up for much time just hurts my poor abdominal muscles and I got next months schedule and I’m still full time with FOUR Saturdays in a row- usual we do every other. I know the others worked until their due dates but I have no idea when these babies will come and if stuff isn’t done in time I’m going to be even more stressed. So I need to talk to my boss about it but I feel bad asking to cut back. Which I shouldn’t but I do. Silly brain.
3 hour glucose test today! Man I hope everything is all good.
Work has been nuts. I know I am not caring for myself (and by extension baby) in the way I should be. This little 3 hour test is like a mini vacation!!!

@rikiteacup I don't think so. I was thinking of ones that would be helpful when looking at my registry and then I totally forgot what they would be lol.
@rikiteacup I don't think so- have we talked bottle brands? Also pacis? We'll probably use what we went with last time unless it doesn't work, but I've seen a ton of innovation surrounding boob shaped bottles and orthopedic pacifiers since I had my son and I'd love to hear if anyone has experience with any of them.
@rikiteacup, I kept not having time to make a Product Spotlight and then forgetting to do it when I did have time! Anyone can feel free to make one or I'm happy to do it (since I have some time now and remember!) if anyone has suggested topics. I know @craftywitch mentioned bottles and pacifiers.
@Swiftlet Man, that is a lot! Glad your husband is ok. I know it's hard not to feel guilty when talking to your boss, but you are the best advocate for yourself and the babies. If you need to cut back, then you should let your boss know.
I actually got good news at work today. Technically I get 12 weeks of maternity leave, but there is a hard deadline of May 4th that I HAVE to be back at work by. That happens to be exactly 12 weeks from my due date (2/8), so if baby is late, then I was planning to cut maternity leave short. Today my boss told me that I can start leave on 2/8 regardless of whether the baby is here, so that I get the full 12 weeks. He said it might not be 12 full weeks with baby, but at least I could relax at home and enjoy my last kid-free days with hubby. I thought that was nice of him, since I was expecting to work up until I went into labor and potentially get shorted a week or 2 of leave.
