@bows22 I'm so sorry you have to be here, but happy you're going to get the support you need as you start this part of the journey.

Also re: BBT, this might be more for the UO thread today, but I do kind of understand why most OB/REs don't take BBT data into account.
I feel like a third party can never 100% know if the person who is tracking their BBT is doing it at the same time and so many different environmental things can come into play and affect the temperatures, that they could be potentially making decisions based on faulty self-reported data. I was just thinking of it in the context of "what if Peggy went to the RE?"

@bows22 Sorry you find yourself here, but I hope the tests are insightful and expedite your time here. What you outlined sounds like a good start. My second RE did a endo biopsy that diagnosed my chronic endo, however from my experience that is not included in standard testing.
@NYTino24@kpearse99 Thanks! I knew that the wash removes the dead stuff, I guess what I am trying to do is identify all the potential reasons an IUI has a higher success rate than TI. (Ie it bypasses tubes, potential hostile cervical fluid, possibly better timing since ultrasound monitoring and ovidrel) but I wasn’t sure if the semen wash actually increases success or if it was just SOP? Do you know if there has been any studies?
I'm having an actual panic attack at work. We just got an email that our insurance provider is changing for 2020, just as we're starting this whole IF process. I called our current provider weeks ago and I know the coverage limits, etc. and I cannot imagine the new provider is going to be as good. IF coverage is mandatory in my state, but limits are up to the individual providers.
I tried to call the new provider and they said they couldn't give me coverage details because my company is handling pre-enrollment itself. I hadn't planned on disclosing this stuff to work quite yet, but now I need to know if I need to open a HSA!

@mvt2003 so sorry, that is super stressful!! Could you possibly talk to HR about it? They can’t switch providers without doing an open enrollment period, can they? I would think you would be able to add an HSA at that time...unless you just want to get it started now to save up if necessary.
@bluetickgal Yes, we will be doing an open enrollment, I just hadn't planned on having to personally disclose to these specific people my health stuff. I had hoped I could just speak to the insurance company directly.

@mvt2003 ah, I see! Any chance they will bring in the new provider during open enrollment to discuss the plan and answer any questions? My company switched providers a few years ago and did that, but I’m not sure if that’s the norm. If not, maybe you could just tell HR you had some specific questions and would like to talk to the provider directly about the plan options/coverage. Hopefully they would respect your privacy and provide a contact person that would be able to discuss coverage with you. So sorry this is an added stress just when you had it all figured out! 😕
Thanks @bluetickgal! I'm going to go to one of the open enrollment sessions and see if I can get some direct time.
This is all complicated for me because my BiL worked at the same company until last month, on the HR team. So I know that they all chat amongst themselves, and I know that he's still in contact with several people on the HR team. I'm trying to let MH decide what his family will know and when, and I would hate for this to be the way he found out.

@mvt2003 You should be able to get some 1:1 time with an advisor during that open enrollment time, or if not then than they are usually really open to giving out a number to someone that can speak to your case specifically. I have never found a rep that didn’t want to help our employees choose the best plan. It is nerve wracking to have a change just when you thought you had a plan, but maybe this will be better coverage you never know!
@mvt2003 *deep breaths, friend, deep breaths.* 💙 Do you know which providers they are looking at? You might be able to find their policies online. For the most part, the insurance providers have great IF coverage for people in our state, so hopefully it won't be a huge difference. I hope you can get some answers quickly so you can ease your mind!
Ok finally have a minute to sit down and reply to everyone. I hate that this thread is so full now I'm glad to have the company, but wish none of us had to be here and it makes me sad when more and more get added.
@NYTino24 I'm late to the party but I would ask to switch to Letrozole and see if those side effects disappear. I know I had some less than desirable side effects on Clomid that I didn't have once I switched medications. So sorry for AF. I'm glad you'll have a Disney distraction
@emeraldduchess I'm so sorry for the triggers. Hopefully you all are able to move forward with the IUI - the scheduling does suck.
@jennifer_louise so many hugs to you, almost IUI buddy. I think it's perfectly normal to lose it a little because the reality of "oh we can't just have sex and get KU" hits you. I don't really trust IUI timing either, it stresses me out that there isn't any sperm "waiting" if I happen to O earlier than the 36 hrs after trigger. I'm hopeful that it'll work out for you Are you having any side effects from the progesterone?
@feather_heather I 100% mute everyone who announces their pregnancy as soon as it's announced. Highly suggest because then they don't see you unfollowed them or whatever as opposed to just deleting them. All the conflicting info on medications - gah! As if it all wasn't overwhelming to take in in the first place. Good luck, lady! You've got this!
@kpearse99 ahh Charleston is one of my favorite cities! I hope you all have a blast and can forget IF for a minute. Yay for the perfect FW timing too!
@nitnat007 wowow you're so close to getting started! Very excited for you, friend! That's great that your MIL has helped some with costs. I have never heard of that duck lip thing so I googled and wtf...kids are so weird.
@mvt2003 so sorry about the SA results. Your poor H with the circumstances he was under while getting the news (not that there's any good way to receive it, but dang). Hopefully you all are able to put together a plan moving forward.
@kiki047 so sorry for CD 1 even though it was several days ago. Also I'm still mad at your doctor's office and the natural cycle vs. IUI.
@misshelen86 I hope all of your testing goes well! I told my direct manager once we started working with the RE since I have to randomly be out for monitoring appts and such. If you don't feel comfortable saying exactly what's up, you could just say you have some medical issues going on that you'll need to sporadically be out for.
@meri-mac wooo making moves! How'd your BW / US go or have you had it yet? I'm also grossed out by ear gauges..especially once people remove them and there's all that droopy skin, just ew.
@inthewoods23 I hope you guys have a great trip! Wave to me in Louisville if you drive through, haha! So sorry your ovaries are being jerks.
--will be back for the rest later, I actually have to work now pshhh--
Thanks @b_1029@emeraldduchess@ramzlau I'm going to try to remain calm, but my incessant googling did show me one scary section of the provider's website that says the limits on IF treatment are by $$ not by services. Not sure if that will be my plan but it freaked me out. ($15k lifetime limit on IVF meds for example when my current provider tracked it by IVF cycle.)
I'm going to go to the webinar and see if I can get someone to speak with me privately from the company. I had been counting on one thing going right for me, with insurance covering at least a decent amount of this, so I hadn't been making savings plans for this. I'm buying wine tonight.

@mvt2003 That is so frustrating and stressful! Insurance stinks! We should be able to focus on what matters, not whether or not what we need is covered! I'm sorry, and hope for the best!
AFM: My scan today was good, so we're moving forward with IUI. But my dr decided to add in Gonal-F with my letrozole. So I'm waiting to see if it's covered my insurance or if we have to pay for it in full.
@mvt2003 That sucks! I know our contract specifies that any change must be equal or better than our current coverage. We had issues last year and after all of the complaints they made changes and went back to the old plan. It luckily didn’t affect me as I went on DH’s plan, but I know it was nerve wracking for others. I hope you get a nice surprise with better coverage or at least something equal. @shoogapoff I hope it’s covered and does the trick for you! @b_1029 Starting Clomid again today. I’m worried about triggering because I still have a cyst on my left side that is down from 29 mm to 23 and my right side is at 20. All 12 follicles are under 10 still, but the Clomid had them mature in 3 days last time and I’m starting it 3 days earlier. I keep imagining my cysts / ovaries exploding for some irrational reason.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Hi everyone! I took a break but have been thinking about you all and sending you hopeful thoughts. I will try to give a summary to explain things below!
Diagnosis (if you've been): Newest one is Asherman's Disorder. It is a rare scarring disease that causes IF and recurrent pregnancy losses.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I have an appointment with an Asherman specialist in late November if this cycle isn't successful.
How are things going?: I have been benched for about 4 months from uterus surgery, but my OB gave us permission to try again which is a relief.
Staring down the rabbit hole of recurrent pregnancy loss is scary as f*k, but I am accepting all possibilities and allowing myself to move forward with my life.
Any questions?: nope
GTKY: What current fashion trend do you just not understand. The return of the 90s fashion from my teen days! I had a student show up wearing wide leg cropped pants, baggy shirt and baggy flannel shirt with her hair in a middle part yesterday. I felt so old!!!!
I will be back for tags!

@NYTino24 Sorry to see you're still here, friend. Disney sounds like a blast! Sorry to hear about the fluid and other complications from Clomid.
@emeraldduchess I am glad your relatives were being kind. I am sorry you are still here, friend. FX work aligns with your monitoring and IUi.
@jennifer_louise Not a mopey myrtle. Considering all of the possibilities is normal, in order to make the right decisions moving forward. We get it ❤ Progesterone is not fun, but it works and 2 weeks will hopefully be go quickly. I just learned you are required to be on it your entire first tri with IVF. Crazy!
@feather_heather So excited for you!!!! Also, yay for the meds being all together!!! My friends say that is half the battle. LOL at "pick a lane".
@kpearse99 Sorry to see you are still here. I am hoping your protocol is successful this cycle. ❤❤ Enjoy your time in Charleston. It is a great city!

@mvt2003 I would be freaking out, too. My clinic had an insurance counselor who sorted through details. Where there is a will, there is a way. I know people who take out mortgages for their IVF. Crossing fingers!

Thanks @shoogapoff I'm trying to keep calm, but it's hard. Insurance is so hard!
@NYTino24 I'm glad you could go on YH's! MH was trying to calm me down last night telling me that if I have to have the same insurance as all of the executives in my company they wouldn't choose a bad one and we have to wait and see. MH works for a super small company that is a subcontractor at a larger company, so his insurance option is awful, I've always carried our insurance. His insurance is literally 2x my price!
@bobbyflies2020 That's one of our options - either getting a loan on the house or just selling the house and moving farther away from the city, we have a good amount of equity already and could finance it so we liquidate some cash. I had been so relieved that we wouldn't have to do that, but guess it's still on the table!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I hate that this thread needs to exist but feel lucky to have you guys.
@jennifer_louise she didn’t mention an HSG and I didn’t know enough about them to speak intelligently so I didn’t ask. She was actually saying that she wasn’t sure if the SHG was even necessary for me and gave me the option, so I was more focused on that. I’ll see how things go and ask at my follow up if she thinks it could be beneficial or if she saw what she needed like @mokay19 mentioned.
Phewf! Okay IVF Update time. Had my baseline BW and US. Everything is good to go. I start Gonal-F and Menopur on Saturday with a check up appointment on Wednesday. I also start antibiotics on Sunday as a precaution. Finally feels like we are moving forward.
I was a little bit of a chicken when doing the practice stab with a nurse, but it wasn't too bad. The vaginal ultrasound was unpleasant though. She had to move it at some interesting angles to see both ovaries and count the follicles. I got a little nauseous from that. I also got a little woozy when they were going over the procedure for ER. Had to hold DH's hand for a minute. Overall, a very productive Thursday
@feather_heather Only one option, I'm afraid! I'm trying to remain hopeful that the coverage will be ok.
@meri-mac Glad you made it through the appointment! So excited for you to get it going!

@bobbyflies2020 welcome back! You have been missed around here! So sorry for the recent diagnosis, but glad that you're able to see a specialist.
Question about letrozole. Should I be feeling O-like cramps this early? It's only CD6. I tool an OPK just in case and it was negative, so I am not too worried. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this.
I’m trying to get caught up on this thread but have only made it through the first page. Posting now, will update later with more tags.
@b_1029 Welcome back! Clearly we missed you very much!❤️I hope the break was exactly what you needed. (I was thinking of you at te exact moment I saw your name pop up, but only had a second to lurk, not respond.) I’m sorry for that outpouring of emotion but I hope you felt real relief to let it all out. And thank you for your kind thoughts & words.🙏🏽
@NYTino24 Thank you for that beautiful post you shared, I also needed to hear that. So sorry about the bfn. With all those scary & painful side effects, I’d likely try a cycle without the meds. Is there a reason you need them? (I’ve been wondering this for awhile with so many of our IF members doing meds + IUI.) My RE doesn’t prescribe me anything except the trigger shot so I wasn’t sure if everyone needsthe meds or if it just makes it easier for the doc to schedule/time everything?
@jennifer_louise Please don’t apologize for feeling mopey. You know we all get what you’re feeling & support you. I tend to apologize too when I vent, but everyone here tells me that’s totally not necessary—we all get it. (((Hug))) to you, FX the IUI is a success! RE: How the day-of IUI BW & U/S work: my RE does both. They check my BW in the days leading up to IUI via a lab near my house that they get results through the patient portal, & they check it on the day of IUI at their on-site lab. They check the results for progesterone, estradiol, LH, and Vit D, & compare to earlier in the week to confirm that it’s the right time. Then the RE narrates what she sees on the screen: size of the dominant follicle/egg, or if she sees the collapsing follicle that shows ovulation just happened. I’m sure you could ask for both this next go-around.
@feather_heather Praying all goes perfectly for you in this IVF cycle. Exciting!
@kpearse99 Yay for a mini-vacay AND for your renewed frame of mind. Also hoping with you that this is it!
@nitnat07 You start your process sooo soon! Add me to the list that had never heard of gluing the top lip—crazy!
@mvt2003 Sorry to hear about YH’s results. At the same time, I hope you feel great having at least a partial answer so far and being able to make a plan.
@kiki047 Welcome back! We obviously missed you as well! So glad to hear the honeymoon was wonderful but so sad right along w you that it didn’t all turn out like a perfect dream. But YAY for IUI#3, hopefully this will be IT! The odds for success go up with each one.🤞🏽And you can def continue trying on your own till IVF, except maybe once you start the IVF meds?
@misshelen86 Hopefully the counseling appointment helped you to sort through all the feelings. Re: the work question: I don’t tell anyone anything at work. But I’m also close to only a couple of people & I still don’t tell them anything. I like to keep work & personal life separate. OT, but I totally agree w you on the pointy nails: Eeewwww UGLY.
@meri-mac Yay, things are really moving along! & agree with you on the war gauges. Disgusting! Especially when they’re elderly...
@inthewoods23 No ideas for naturally jump-starting the ovaries. I’m guessing your doc might have to give you something? Or let it go natural but who knows how long....
@shoohapoff Welcome back! And amen to your mom jeans! Sooo frumpy & ugly. The young ones are rebelling against societal norms to show off their gorgeous bodies or be uncomfortable—I do like that rebellious aspect of the trend.
@meri-mac - Yay so glad your starting!! The Gonal-F is super easy because it's such a small short needle. I haven't had to add in any of the other meds yet, so those are TBD. I wouldn't think to much about the ER process, you'll be under for the whole thing anyways!
@shoogapoff so glad you get to proceed with the IUI this cycles! Fingers crossed the Gonal-F is covered and that does the trick!!
@meri-mac so glad your scan showed everything was good and you can start with meds! Good luck with the injections...you’ve got this!
@emeraldduchess I get cramping for several days before O on Letrozole. I get what I call little twinges before that, and I always just tell myself that means the medicine is doing something! Doesn’t look like I’ve charted cramping that early, but I feel like it’s probably happened that early.
@keikilove I got a call with baseline BW results and got the go ahead to switch to Letrozole tonight (after filling and picking up the Clomid prescription yesterday). I have had false surges before temp and OPK wise, but no problems actually ovulating. I think it’s mostly to make sure the follicles are mature before they release and for timing purposes since MH works 24 hour shifts and we need to time IUI carefully. But to be honest, I’ve wondered the same thing.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

All 12 follicles are under 10 still, but the Clomid had them mature in 3 days last time and I’m starting it 3 days earlier. I keep imagining my cysts / ovaries exploding for some irrational reason.

AMA, ITP in pregnancy, vWD type II - low Factor VIII, unexplained RPL and secondary infertility

@bobbyflies2020 welcome back! glad you’re off the bench!
@meri-mac Glad you made it through the appointment! So excited for you to get it going!

Question about letrozole. Should I be feeling O-like cramps this early? It's only CD6. I tool an OPK just in case and it was negative, so I am not too worried. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this.
I’m trying to get caught up on this thread but have only made it through the first page.
