@mdfarmchick I bought a pack of onesies and matching bandana bibs yesterday. It was an impulse buy because I was shopping for maternity clothes, but it felt good to buy something and make it “official”. We’re announcing next Friday after the 12 week check up, which is the longest we’ve ever waited to tell family and I’ve felt like crap the last three months. It definitely was pick me up.

Also I had a dream my mom died during a CS last night. She’s definitely too old to be having kids so I’m not sure why that dream happened, but it was a bit disturbing.
I know we have some military mamas in the group so I was thinking maybe you would have insight (or if this happens to apply to anyone else) but have your doctors offered any insight on the safety of target shooting while pregnant? I see mixed answers online.
@mdfarmchick what swaddles did you get? When my September 17 baby was born Aden & Anais had partnered with Zutano on these really cute designs. I bought my daughter the girly style with flowers and bright colors and absolutely loved them. The boy-ish design had dogs and cars which I also loved and was going to get for my daughter too but they had quit selling them by that time. None of the other Aden & Anais ones are that cute when I was browsing the other day, but then I found the car/dog style on ebay brand new in box so I just had to buy them. Whether we have a boy or girl I'm still glad I snagged them
Work has me stressing out hardcore. One of my coworkers is completely worthless, but my boss believes she just doesn't work while at work but gets work done in the evenings (because she logs onto her laptop for person things in the evenings and he sees her online and assumes she is doing something). It's funny though because me and the rest of the team bust our asses ALL DAY at work and then go home and log on a few more hours and I also worked most of last weekend. But he sees no issue and won't help force her to take on some of our work so I'm pissed. I was crying last night once I got home just over it all and my 2 year old daughter was eating a piece of candy her grandma gave her and asked me to hold her. I picked her up and she shoved the chocolate in my face and said "here!" and made me take the rest of it. Then later she just kept looking at me and said "are you happy?" like she was so concerned. I felt bad worrying her, but it was the absolute sweetest.
@mdfarmchick I had to get night time pull ups for DD a few weeks ago, we were a month + into potty training and I didn't want to buy too many since we will be stopping them soon. Target had their deal where you buy so much and you get a $20 gift card so I bought newborn/size 1 diapers to meet the threshold. I was at some outlet shops over vacation and bought 2 gender neutral sleepers as well.
I haven't bought anything yet for this new baby. I've got both G &B stuff still from the twins so I'm trying to keep my impulses under control. My MIL and I did get together over the phone for the Lil Cactus Christmas outfits on zulily though. So stinking cute.
@bananapanda your daughter sounds like the sweetest. I know it's hard but try to ignore the unproductive co-worker and focus on what you can control. If she tries to give you work she should have done then maybe you could go to your boss and say something like coworker just told me she wants me to take over X, I am currently working on Y and Z and don't have capacity to do her work along with mine. I need to know what you want me to prioritize. Good luck either way. Having to pick up someone's slack is no fun. What type of work do you do anyway?

My sister and sister in law have a total of 5 kids under age 7 between them so I'm hoping for a lot of cousin hand me downs. Our parents know but I will be telling them & some extended family after my ultrasound next week. So excited to finally share the news with my sister who will probably be super excited for me & have lots of tips to share.

I wasn’t planning on getting anything for the baby until after Christmas (after the 20 week mark). But you all may have convinced me to do some impulse shopping to start connecting with growing baby.
@bananapanda I bought some from Sweet Ellie Sue... she does characters and then some really pretty plain ones. They are soft soft like the ones I bought from A+A with my first. But the ones I bought for #2 weren’t as soft and I didn’t love them as much. Hers are kind of pricey but my kids use the swaddles as their comfort blanket for years so I am okay with the investment. I bought DS2 the Toy story Quilt because he loves Buzz and already has the swaddle and then I bought the Mickey Ears one and It’s a Small World. I was debating buying the Neverland Quilt but I would want a girly one if this one is a girl so I waited. I’m sorry work is so stupid but you have a gem right there in your daughter. ♥️
@stella_700 those are cute! I don’t usually like smocking but those are super cute. I usually buy the boys one set of something matching from Mudpie that is all Christmasy and embroidered.
Also I just tried on my Target underbelly jeans I bought a couple nights ago and these are making me pretty comfy today.
Aden + anais has a Harry Potter line right now, so I bought a 3-pack of swaddles. That's it though... I plan on waiting to do most of our shopping until later, especially after we find out the sex.
I bought 1 pair of red fox booties that I want to use to send as an announcement to my friends. Just through texts though I don’t want to do a big social media thing. I’m 11 weeks now and my 12 week appt is Oct 24 so I’m getting closer to trimester 2. Otherwise I’m too scared to make any “real” purchases.
@soprano19 which pattern did you go with? I keep looking at the HP lines but I can’t decide which ones to get! They’re all so cute! We have our first appointment Monday and that is my first planned purchase if all goes well.
@tj_2 I'm an actuary at a large insurance company. Unfortunately the coworker is very good at covering her butt and making it look like she's working. My boss knows she's a little unproductive, but refuses to believe the extent of it so his attitude is kind of driving me nuts also. At least I have a lot of decent coworkers so we all have vent sessions about the other coworker haha
Off the topic of baby clothes....but I’m cooking for the first time in the new house. Aaaaand it’s freaking spaghetti. DD1 and my husband love spaghetti. I’m more of an Alfredo person
@TattoosandLace We also just cooked our first meal in our new house! Chicken and stuffing. Usually I love tomato sauce and pasta, but tomato sauce has been making me gag - even just the smell of it. Oh, pregnancy.
My husband is out of town this weekend on a work golf trip, and DD is spent the day and is staying overnight with the grandparents so I've had an entire day to myself. This is glorious. I ran some errands, cleaned house, watched tv, took a nice slow stroll through target, got some mexican for dinner, and I get to sleep in tomorrow! I wonder if my parents will be so willing to take the kids for a weekend when there are 2 instead of just 1 lol I hope so!
