After a huge pause from my June 2018 Retrieval (5 embryos) and a laparoscopic myomectomy 6 months ago, I’ve been scheduled for an October transfer God willing... so excited 😆 but first saline hysterogram which I was trying to avoid like the plague. So happy to be on this journey with you all!!!
Had my retrieval in August 2019 and after a disappointing natural FET cycle last month with ups and downs ending with a cancelled cycle due to no ovulation until day 32 I am starting a medicated cycle this month. Started esterase and estrogen patch yesterday. Have my mid cycle monitoring on the 12th and potential transfer on the 17th! Keeping everything crossed that it finally goes according to plan this time!
@Elle131 good luck with the saline hysterogram! mine was quick and painless. Hope its the same for you!
I re-discovered these boards because we are planning a FET October 7th! I'm cautiously optimistic and glad to find others who are in the same situation! Currently feeling every side effect from vaginal estrogen suppositories!
@hanshotfirst77 well it looks like i will be a part of the the NOV/DEC FET. They found some (only a little) retained placenta from my csection in may. So i have to have a procedure to clean it all out. good luck!
@justharrison Oh I'm sorry about the retained placenta and that it's causing a delay. But wishing you all the luck with the procedure and with Nov/Dec!
@justharrison ugh that sucks. I might be moving to the NOV board with you - still waiting on my period and if it shows up soon, I won't be on my thyroid meds for the 6 weeks like my RE wants, so it'll push things back.
Cleared today for a transfer on 101/10. Start PIO shots tonight. Two more accupuncture sessions next week and I've scheduled a massage for Wednesday. Lining looked good today. Here's hoping.
Had my FET a few days ago. On the 2WW train.... So much info about what can be done to improve implantation chances...and then some resources say that it is really out of your control...
@hanshotfirst77 I test this coming Friday, 14dpt. I was doing well the first 4 days, but now I’m getting antsy. I may do a HPT on Wednesday or Thursday. I’m just scared. Lol.
@e_d_k mentioned, “So much info about what can be done to improve implantation chances...”. What tips are people following/not following?
My clinic insists on 72 hrs of bed rest post transfer. I haven’t found any literature that mentions 72 hrs, and the studies on 24 hours say it’s better to resume normal activity. I have gotten pretty psyched up about 3 days of lazy and Netflix with the Hubs
The skeptic in me thinks the pineapple core sounds silly, but so many people talk about it. Can’t do any harm, right?
@aes324, good luck on the 17th! And yes, it's so confusing. My clinic actually said to resume "normal activities as soon as I feel ok" after FET. Of course with pio shots I haven't been feeling ok even before transfer. But I am walking every day outside not only for physical activity purposes but to be better mentally....
I had a transfer this morning - a hatching blastocyst graded BA. It was almost five years to the day since our fresh transfer!
My clinic told me I could go to work today (I’m teaching art in a library and chose a calm activity) but to generally take it easy and to not lift anything over 15 lbs. No other big restrictions.
I go back for a test 10/18! We’ve got everything crossed here.
@e_d_k I am definitely NOT sure! Haha. But I’m going crazy. I can’t stop googling. I feel so positive and then I think what do I know! And then I feel like an emotional wreck!
I got my clinic to move my beta up to Thursday but I’m still thinking about doing a HPT one to two days earlier. And yes, I know I shouldn’t trust it no matter what. I don’t know...
@31magnolia there seems to be some variation in what different clinics prescribe (shots vs. suppositories). Everything has side effects of course. PIO shots can be pretty disabling (like when you hit a sciatic nerve by accident; I haven't had that ... yet... lol). So as long as progesterone is up - it's all good. I ate sesame seeds today to help with that...lol 🙈 The wait is difficult to say the least. I can't concentrate on anything and don't really care about anything happening around me.... @erbear84 good luck to you!
Thanks everyone! Wishing everyone the best. I am on pins and needles waiting for @31magnolia to POAS .
It seems like for every suggestion on how to increase odds of success, you can find someone else saying exactly the opposite. I am pretty nervous about the PIO after everything I have read on these forums!
@hanshotfirst77 how are you feeling after your transfer? When is your beta?
@aes324 PIO sucks but I didn't find it too horrible. The first few were a little nervewracking and sore, but after awhile I just got used to them.
AF made a surprise visit so went in for baseline this morning! I might still be an Oct transfer! Just have to wait for my nurse to call with my bloodwork to see when I'm able to start estrace.
********TW**** My RE is doing the exact same protocol that gave us my daughter so I'll be on estrace 3xday vaginally (UGH) and PIO Shots. She typically only does PIO every 3rd day and suppositories every day with FETs now based on some research and a clinical study at my clinic that didn't show any significant difference between the two, but we aren't going to take any risks since it took so long to be successful the first time.
@31magnolia I just ordered some HPTs on Amazon last night so I'm sure I will be itching to POAS too. But I kinda want to hold out until beta day too. Fx for you!
@mtpbadger I'm feeling pretty good. My progesterone was low on the day of my transfer which kinda caused me to panic a little bit, but they switched me from PIO every other day, alternating with Endometrin 3x a day to no Endometrin but PIO everyday starting with the day after my transfer. And after 3 days of doing that, my progesterone shot way up! So though PIO everyday sucks, if it will help I am all for it. lol Just trying not to go crazy symptom spotting, ordered some HPT's last night. Well see how long I hold out. And beta is 10/14!
That's awesome you may still make Oct! Fx you can start soon!
mtpbadger I have two more accupuncture sessions and a massage tomorrow but feel pretty ready. Shorter hold time on the estrogen this round so it feels faster.
Congrats to those already transferred or getting good news on potential transfers.
@e_d_k I can’t focus on anything either. So I totally get it! My sister just got on me about testing early, so that is at least holding me over till tomorrow. I just like the idea of believing I’m pregnant and I’m not ready for that to possibly end just yet. And although I know the blood test has a slight chance of differing from the HPT it will be hard to shake those feelings if it’s negative.
@hanshotfirst77 haha. Hold out as long as you can. I have my FX crossed for you and @e_d_k too!
Hi all, sorry I've been MIA, it's been a chaotic season for us. Unfortunately my clinic wasn't able to get us on the calendar for an October transfer and DH will be traveling for work for most of November and December so we decided to push our transfer to January. Best of luck to all of you transferring this month -- I hope this is the month for you!
@caitb13 that stinks! Hopefully you can enjoy your holidays and Jan will be here before you know it!
Got a call from my nurse and my progesterone is slightly higher than they want so I have to go back Thursday just for blood work. And there was a mix up at the pharmacy and they didn’t receive the order from my clinic so that was a debacle. Thankfully DH is handling it and waiting around for another hr for it to be filled 🤦🏼♀️
31magnolia , I don't even know how I will pick up the phone after the blood test... IDK how I will react to the news...regardless of the test result. This is all so overwhelming ... On the day of the transfer I was really overwhelmed too...wanted to cry
mtpbadger, this is frustrating. I so admire husbands. Also didn't know progesterone levels can be too high.
@e_d_k I hear you. I also cried after the Egg retrieval and the transfer. Although a lot of that had to do with the disappointment of there only being one mature egg. And then happiness that one egg fertilized. And everyday the clinic would call with the daily report I would cry for joy that the one embryo made it to the next stage. This journey is definitely an emotional roller coaster!!! shoot I just listened to the voicemail of the daily embryo statuses earlier to and cried all over again! Lol.
Thanks for all the well wishes. The saline sono went well today and I’m cleared for my first monitoring visit on Friday. When all goes well, I’ll be set up for a natural cycle and a transfer the week of the 20th. Question of the day... 1 or 2 embryos (36 yrs. old)?
@Elle131 Glad it went well! You have been dreading the saline sono. None of us can make the decision on 1 vs. 2 for you. My doctor absolutely refused to do two, even though I am almost 36. He said with PGS normal embryos transferring 2 does not substantially increase your chances of getting pregnant, only your chances of multiples and complications... he said something about his duty as a doctor to do the healthiest choice for me and the potential baby(ies). He quoted stats about the number of multiples that spend time in the NICU. I was very upset, I really wanted 2. Don’t get me wrong - the idea of twins is both terrifying and thrilling, but knowing we want two and we aren’t getting younger, twins seemed like the best way to ensure that happens. The Dr. did say if the first transfer fails then he would do two. Best wishes to you as you determine what is best for you.
AFM - Lining was at 14.5 yesterday. I will start PIO Sat, transfer Thurs.
Hi All! I have been MIA for a bit because after my failed FET in August, I had to wait for my RE to be available for a meeting. We have our plan to move forward and were GOING to start this month, but we had a planned vacation and AF started while I was on vacation so I couldn't start baseline testing. PLUS...my DH was still debating where to buy our meds from. He finally decided and is ordering them today. That means I will be in a November Cycle for retrieval and fresh transfer and December for FET if fresh isn't successful (or not able to do).
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's + HPT's this week for thos who have already transferred!!!

Hello all! I am coming over from the Sept. FET board.
I had a FET Sept. 26; I had an HCG of 8 and then 4. Previous successful FET in 2017.
I got AF today; go in for lining check on 10/21. That will put me around a 10/30 transfer date. My protocol until the lining check is 4 estrace/day starting tomorrow until next wed., then add 2 vaginally.
Re: OCT FET
@bluguitarhannah So sorry about the miscarriage. Fingers crossed this transfer is successful for you.
@bluguitarhannah I’m so sorry about your miscarriage.

Got a call from my nurse and my progesterone is slightly higher than they want so I have to go back Thursday just for blood work. And there was a mix up at the pharmacy and they didn’t receive the order from my clinic so that was a debacle. Thankfully DH is handling it and waiting around for another hr for it to be filled 🤦🏼♀️
mtpbadger, this is frustrating. I so admire husbands. Also didn't know progesterone levels can be too high.
shoot I just listened to the voicemail of the daily embryo statuses earlier to and cried all over again! Lol.
Thanks for all the well wishes. The saline sono went well today and I’m cleared for my first monitoring visit on Friday. When all goes well, I’ll be set up for a natural cycle and a transfer the week of the 20th. Question of the day... 1 or 2 embryos (36 yrs. old)?
Congratulations to all of you who have transferred!!! @hanshotfirst77 @erbear @aes324 @mtpbadger @31magnolia @e_d_k
