@22ksi2 Hopefully it gets easier soon. Since I’ve hit 2nd trimester I haven’t had anymore issues so I hope your struggles improve soon!! Let’s stay team “no catheters.”
Not to sound nuts - but anyone slightly freaked out by the symptoms decreasing? Took me a long time to get pregnant and although it’s been roooough the symptoms have been reassuring to tell me all is (probably) well. I still have some, but much less and now that the US are more spread out I feel like I’m flying blind.
Also anyone having dizzy spells? Had to sit down yesterday cause I thought I was going down!
@optimist13, yes to the dizzy spells. It’s not unusual for that to happen during pregnancy especially when changing positions.
I understand your concerns about decreasing symptoms. This part of the pregnancy is hard because symptoms decrease but you can’t feel movement yet. Soon when you can feel consistent movement it should hopefully ease your fears. That said, we had IF and with my first I didn’t breathe a sigh of relief truly until she was in my arms.
@optimism3 I think that feeling of worry is normal. I am the opposite actually. All of a sudden, all of the really crappy first tri symptoms have made a return for me (nausea, fatigue, headaches). It totally sucks. I’m just ready to feel somewhat normal again!
@optimism3 I have had a few dizzy spells including one yesterday. I had no idea that those can happen during pregnancy so it caught me completely off guard the first time. Also, I still check by breasts daily to make sure they are still swollen/heavy. That's the only symptom that has stayed constant, and even though I heard baby's hb on Wednesday and felt movement recently, I still check for reassurance.
@jessieR358 I've had palps since I was a kid, and they did get worse with pregnancy. I have been taking a magnesium supplement to deal with them, and I have not had 1 since. It's pretty amazing.
I have some gross anxiety today, and I'm typically super extroverted and am more prone to carelessness than worry. Hello pregnancy hormones! Thanks for making me feel like I need to hide in a hole when I actually have to attend a bunch of meetings and put on my game face.
@jvk2012 that IF experience really does stay with you! I was thinking I’d be good at end of first tri, now I’m thinking maybe with movement, but probably the goal post will move again and I’ll be looking for the due date like you did.
@therealbitts thanks for the reassurance and sorry about the symptoms! Hopefully they start to decrease for you too really soon.
@huskervbfan the dizziness surprised me too - especially it’s severity. I hear you - my ultrasounds or dopplers sustain me for a few days before I start to be eager for the next one. I keep trying to assess the symptoms that are left too. I should probably just remind myself it’s out of my hands🤷🏼♀️
@craftywitch anxiety is the worst! I nearly cried today when a client got upset with me, so hormones are fun lol. Hang in there - hopefully you can find something appealing to do this weekend
@optimism3 Yes to all of that! I’m a FTM, just past 15 weeks, and symptoms have decreased enough that I’m nervous that baby is okay I’m there. I keep putting my hand on my belly to try to feel something, but haven’t felt him move yet. I can’t wait until my next appointment for reassurance.
I’ve also had dizzy spells. When it’s happened, it’s after standing up. I’m not at all surprised though, since it’s something I dealt with somewhat regularly when I was younger, so I assume I’m sorta prone to it, so add pregnancy where it’s expected and of course I’ll have it.
Oi vey, 16 weeks and I’m still sick. While the waves of nausea are gone for the most part I am still gagging at everything. I was so excited I haven’t thrown up in a week then woke up this morning and threw up again. So tired of this. I only threw up 3 times with my first. The headaches have started but any pill I try to take, I immediately throw up. Blah. I’m just thankful I can eat with this babe. My first I barely could even eat crackers and grapes.
@sharonholck28 aw I'm sorry. I feel you, I'm still nauseous and throwing up sometimes too. But that's good you can eat! I was having trouble with headaches and a little caffeine helped. Hope it clears up for you soon!
I'm so so over the throwing up. Not in a "yay it's not happening anymore" way either -___- It's still just hanging out with me. I was so hungry because we got up, went to church and came home for a nap. Woke up and make an omelet. Literally 2 bites from being done, had to make a rush to the bathroom and bye bye omelet. KID, JUST LET ME FINISH MY MEALS!
Threw a baby shower for my friend yesterday afternoon into the evening. Didn't take my zofran and was feeling fine and thought maybe this was it, the second trimester magic. Got home, showered and in bed and immediately felt like puking violently. Took my zofran and avoided it but ugh, nope. Still a little food aversion-y, mostly when faced with the thought of having to cook.
Also burping all the time, yuck. And still getting up to pee all night.
Is everyone else feeling a real decline in symptoms? This week is way better than any before it. I’ve had some waves of nausea, and occasional fatigue, but otherwise not a lot of symptoms. I have to admit that today it’s freaking me out a little - ready for some movement for reassurance. Next US isn’t until 9/9. It’s great to feel better but just slightly disorienting - anyone else in this boat?
@optimism3, yes I am feeling pretty normal except for sore boobs and very hungry. It makes me nervous and I don’t have another ultrasound until 9/25. Waiting for the movement!
@optimism3 I'm not willing to admit I'm feeling better because last time I thought that I threw up the next 3 days lol! I have noticed my boobs are less tender which is great!
I'm feeling almost normal again (nausea is basically gone!) I'm down to one B6 in the AM and unisom at night. I'm a little afraid to stop altogether and feel like garbage again. I guess the long weekend is my best opportunity to give it a try!
I’m feeling a lot more tired compared to first trimester. Like napping on the couch and going to sleep pretty early/dragging in the AM. Nausea is improving but still taking my zofran every night.
Pregnancy brain is re-appearing too; the other day I was talking about upcoming Memorial Day weekend and my coworker was like umm...
@malloryfrommn let us know how it goes if you try! Incidentally, think you’re from MN right? MN story you’ll appreciate - we sent my in-laws our gender reveal but they already left for the lake for the holiday weekend and missed it. Very MN I feel. Wish I were at the lake!
@Swiftlet I have been going to bed early this week myself when I think of it. Memorial Day made me laugh

@sharonholck28 is this baby a different gender from your prior? Always curious about how symptoms compare and if it really does relate to gender
