Maternity Clothes!

Re: Maternity Clothes!

  • @rikiteacup thanks!

@leksiL I don’t know! lol. I feel like I definitely have a bump but not one that justifies a full panel yet? This is my first time around and full panel seems serious? Haha. I did wonder if it would be uncomfortable too?

  • @optimism3 - I'd recommend you go to the store and try them on. I find them SUPER comfortable.

  • @optimism3 Full panel pants are the comfiest. I would highly recommend trying some on.
  • @optimism3 I’m team “try on” too. I went to Motherhood Maternity on Saturday and tried on a few that I really liked. They’re comfortable, but they do take some getting used to because the support your used to from normal waisted jeans goes away in favor of the elastic band. Just something you need to try on and find a pair that fits right. Then you’ll need a few days to get comfortable with them.
  • @optimism3 I’m with you! I assumed full panel would be too loose? I guess I’ll try some on this weekend. I got some side panel jeans at old navy which are really comfy but of course since they’re not full panel they don’t cover the belly so it doesn’t really keep my current pooch tucked in :) I ordered some side panel work pants from there too but they haven’t come in yet. I’ve also heard loft has good inexpensive work pants but again they’re full panel.

If anyone does want to get anything from Old Navy, they’re doing 40% off right now so the mat clothes are cheap!
  • I ordered some jeans that looked promising from H&M but they don’t fit and they’re my normal pre-pregnancy size :disappointed:
  • @nhh11 thanks for the PSA!  Just placed my order and saved a lot of money.

  • I find the full panel comfortable and I just fold it down in this early stage. It was nice post c-section to wear them, too.
  • I’ve been shopping at target and motherhood maternity. I also like lofts maternity section. Gap has some nice stuff, too, in their maternity section.

Im getting a maternity stitch fix this week, too. I’m hoping a few more things and I should be set!

  • Is loft maternity in store or online only?
  • @swiftlet H&M is horrible with sizing. I’m a size 4 at Old Navy and probably a 10 at H&M. I say probably because it is so depressing I haven’t shopped there in forever

  • @DDRRT1982 I believe just online. That’s where i ordered my loft stuff :)
@leksiL thanks lady, I feel a little better haha.
  • @ibabyloveb87 YES! I don’t usually wear leggings out of the house unless I’m doing something fitness related. But I wore my cropped target leggings to the store to buy another pair of black and the charcoal. They are beyond comfy with a baggy t-shirt.

@leksiL I am 100% pro full-panel. But I guess I never even gave side panel a fair chance...

stuck in a box... the app is not working for me today. Anyways, online only I believe. I’d imagine they’d have some maternity items in store that were returned a MAYBE a bigger store would have it, but I doubt it. Their shipping is expensive,  but so far I’ve been pleased because I’m short and they have maternity petite clothes.
  • Thanks for all the advice ladies and the full panel endorsement! You convinced me to make the leap - I’ll try some on. Looking in the mirror this AM i realized my bump is bigger than I’ve let myself think 😂 so maybe it’s time.
  • Full disclosure, I have been in full panel jeans since week 10 even though they were still too big and needed a belt to hold them up. Once the bloating started, I couldn't stand how regular pants pressed on my bladder. Full panel all the way!
  • echoing @leksiL I find the full panel to be much more comfortable and there is a lot less slippage and hiking them back up.

  • Full panel is the best. As I wear my full panel white jeans.  B)

  • @optimism3 glad to have you on team full panel 🤣🤣
  • I finally got some maternity underwear! The first brand (Motherhood) was amazing, the ones I have today are Jessica Simpson and give me wedgies of course I bought a pack of three of them - ugh.

  • @leksiL I just bought maternity underwear this past weekend from Thyme and they are the best! I no longer have to worry about my underwear falling down inside my pants.
  • @leksiL you didn’t find the motherhood ones saggy?? That’s all I’ve ever heard about them!

  • @ibabyloveb87 no but maybe I just have a big butt :) Maybe buying a small in the Jessica Simpson brand was too optimistic!

  • @leksiL I personally haven’t tried them so I have no idea! I need to get some
new underwear though. Might hit up target this weekend while I’m escaping Dorian.

  • oh wow. I never bought maternity underwear with my first pregnancy. How do they fit? Do they go over the belly like full-panel pants? Or are they designed to go under?  Have I been missing out on more comfort???
  • Anyone have any recommended short/petite or just plain capri/ankle length maternity leggings? Even trying on the XS or S in the Target brand I have to fold them up at least 3 inches! :p
  • @lanie1000 I bought some because of the hype and I'm not sure if it's just because my bump isn't that big yet but I really don't notice the difference lol. The ones I have don't have a belly panel but they're a little higher and very soft!

@lanie1000 I have some that go under and some that go partially up. Not full belly panel up to the armpits, but probably up to my belly button. I decided to try because my regular underwear was starting to fit weirdly and I am very glad I did.
  • @Swiftlet Motherhood Maternity had petite pants - not Capri or ankle like the length I’d normally buy from Loft for work, but they were short.
  • I got some stuff that looks like it will be very cute from the old navy sale. I was told I’d definitely need maternity clothes “so soon” but they still don’t look right. I’m not complaining since I didn’t want my work to know yet but worried I’m gonna have clothes for the wrong season now.
  • Sorry if this has already been said - but for those struggling with the full panel maternity pants, you can roll the panel down and they might fit better.

  • A little late to the party, but maternity underwear, under the belly are amazing. I have the Jessica Simpson brand from Motherhood and I did need to size up, and by my third trimester I needed to size up again 😳
  • Hahaha @Swiftlet I mean. Why not?! I just got a bunch of cute wraps and cape style sweaters at target. They’re not maternity but they’re comfy and spacious!

    Do cheap maternity leggings exist?!
  • @TennisLove30 I got some on clearance at Kohl’s that ended up coming to 7 bucks! And at Motherhood they had some that were on sale for $10!
