This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

How are things going?: I dunno!!! Just left my RE and my follies barely grew since Saturday. Looks like they are growing at a rate of 1mm a day instead of 2mm. The biggest is just about at 17mm now and I have a few others at 15mm and 14mm. My lining did get a little thicker, so that’s good... it’s almost at 7mm. I dunno what to think. She said it doesn’t look like I Od but that well know more when the bloodwork comes back later today. I’m to bring my trigger with me on my trip to Atlanta just Incase, but most likely I’ll be going back in Thursday morning for another ultrasound and bloodwork (since i can’t make it on Wednesday morning) I really hope they are still growing...
ETA that I just got a peak OPK... Saturday my OPK was at a score of a 6 and yesterday it was down to a 2... now I get a peak. I have no idea lol but I really don’t wanna miss O while being away for work.
Any questions?: anyone else taken this long to get a mature follie?!
GTKY: Giraffes!!! I'm obsessed with them!! 🦒 ❤️

@kpearse99 I love giraffes too! Hope your follies keep growing while you’re away. Maybe it will help your timing for this month? Woohoo to a thicker lining! Have a good time on your trip.

How are things going?: Not too bad. Feeling a little bitter lately but I think I’m coping with things fairly well. I’ve been doing yoga almost every day and had a great weekend at the cabin. I’m going back to work tonight, which I think will be good to get back into a routine again. I found out that my Dr. Did put in the referral for an RE and I’m currently on a waiting list, so I will hopefully get an appointment date soon. They are currently booking about 2 months out.
Any questions?: nope
GTKY: I think giraffes are pretty cool. I’d love to go on an African safari one day!
Me: 35 DH: 35 TTC since 9/2018
Dx: MFI 10/19- First RE visit 2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles 7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN 9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal 11/20- Mock transfer/ERA 12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN 3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021 12/21- Baby girl born!
@misshelen86 I really hope you get the appointment soon! I’m glad you’re doing yoga everyday to help keep your mind at ease. And your weekend at the cabin sounds lovely! I would love to do a jungle safari!! I’ve fed giraffes a few times, it’s one of my most favorite memories!
Im hoping it’s all better for the timing too, but now I’m worried that I just got a peak OPK and that we won’t be able to do they IUI at all this cycle. I’m also worried that my follies never get big enough and that’s why we haven’t gotten KU yet. So many thoughts are going through my mind right now. I really need to just breathe and remind myself it’s out of my control!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IVF + PGS testing
How are things going?: Pretty good. Made it through my first two days of stimming ok. Haven't really had any side effects or issues with the injections so far. I'm nervous/excited to see how my follies are looking tomorrow.
Any questions?: How uncomfortable were you right before your retrieval? I have some company coming over next weekend and I am pretty sure my ER will be sometime early next week Maybe Monday or Tuesday unless I end up needing to stim longer. And I don't want this company knowing about my IVF plans so will I be able to muddle through? Or will I be in like horrible pain and uncomfortableness?
GTKY: What’s your favorite animal from the wild? Hippos. I have always loved Hippos.
@kpearse99 even on 7.5 mg of Letrozole, I never ovulate until CD20. My follicles do the same thing yours did where they look good on the first scan and then slow down, but continue to grow. Also, with PCOS, my OPKs are always pretty dark and then seem to lighten up right before the actual peak (so, they follow that same flow that you mentioned). Hopefully they continue growth and your lining continues to thicken!
@hanshotfirst77 yay for stimming! I must have missed your update that your bloodwork was good to proceed so I'm super happy for you! ETA: I'm sure the level of discomfort will depend on the amount of eggs. I had a friend that retrieved about 20 eggs and she said that she definitely needed some rest right before and after because she just felt uncomfortably "full"
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole, trigger, TI, Progesterone
How are things going?: Well, AF is FINALLY leaving so pretty good. I'm taking my last dose of Letrozole tonight so I'll start OPK's soon. Since this whole year I've ovulated on CD20 while on 7.5 mg Letrozole, I scheduled my mid-cycle appt for the morning of CD16. Hopefully that timing works out to give a good prediction of trigger timing! But also, we'll be traveling over Labor Day weekend so I'm nervous to travel with the trigger since I'm pretty sure it's refrigerated. Fortunately, it's just subq and I don't have to do my first out of town shot with an IM one!
Any questions?: not presently.
GTKY: What’s your favorite animal from the wild? probably Penguins. they're just so awkward but adorable
@mokay19 thanks! That puts my mind at ease a bit! I never should have done an OPK this morning lol it’s just making me stress more! Should I mention to my RE that I got a peak this morning one just let it go and let them do their thing???
Penguins are my second favorite animal!! Happy Feet is one of my favorite movies 😂 penguins and tap dancing... what’s not to love?! I just purchased a Frio Duo cooking bag from CVS this morning, because the trigger does need to be refrigerated. It’s for people traveling with insulin but it keeps the meds cold for 48 hours! I have to travel with mine today and i was freaking out about how to travel with it. MH found the bag for me..
@hanshotfirst77 so so glad you’re not feeling any crazy effects from the stimming!

@kpearse99 haha I read the first comment and was like "hmm a cooking bag sounds like the opposite of what I'm looking for..." I would tell my RE that I got a peak after just seeing a 17 mm follicle. That could be concerning if you are ovulating immature follicles. I'm sure they'll check your LH in the bloodwork, but I think it's always good to give them as much information as you have.
@mokay19 Yay for AF leaving soon. Fx your timing works out this cycle! Yeah I'm not sure if I updated on the IF thread or somewhere else. But once it got to about 4pm est with no call I figured I was in the clear.
@kpearse99 I'm so sorry for the confusing follie/timing situation. I have no wisdom, other than that your RE hopefully knows what they're doing and I've got all FX the timing works out.
@hanshotfirst77 so happy the stims are going well! Hope things stay smooth for you.
@misshelen86 maybe I missed this but what is your ultrasound for? More testing? Sorry for the wait list, same at my RE. It makes no sense to me that seemingly everybody in my life is so fertile but yet the RE has a waiting list?! 😂
@mokay19 yay for the departure of AF and hopefully everything works out timing-wise for you too! And penguins is a great answer, have you seen the pictures of penguins in sweaters?
@hanshotfirst77 Glad you haven’t had any issues with the stims so far! Hope it continues this way.
@mokay19 Hope everything works out with the timing!
@jennifer_louise It’s just a baseline ultrasound to check my ovaries/uterus. The waiting is so annoying! Your appointment must be coming up pretty soon though?

@hanshotfirst77 I hope everything looks good tomorrow! Our retrievals are going to be really close together. FX everything goes smoothly for you this weekend.
@mokay19 What are you triggering with? Lupron is refrigerated but Pregnyl is not. Hoping you have Pregnyl, but if not, my meds spent 10 hours in the car last week and they were fine in a cooler.
Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL & DOR
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Waiting for ER
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): ER should be at the end of week/this weekend.
How are things going?: Good! Side effects from stims haven't been too bad, so that's been a relief, althoughim starting to feel my ovaries now. I've also done some of the IM injections myself, so I'm patting myself on the back for that. I have an US tomorrow and I'm hoping to hear I have a decent number of follies and that we're doing the ER Friday or Saturday.
Any questions?: Nope.
GTKY: What’s your favorite animal from the wild? Oh, I have so many. Mountain lions and otters are both high on the list.
@ruby696 otters are so stinking cute!!!

What are you doing this cycle? Nothing! Used up all my Clomid (honestly, good riddance) and now waiting for my RE consult next Friday! Also, probably SMEP.
How are things going? On the struggle bus, but trying not to let hopelessness touch every aspect of my life. I also need to temper my expectations for my RE consult. Right now, I have a strong idea of what I want to hear and do next, but I need to relax and let my RE be the expert.
Any questions? Not right now.
GTKY: I pick elephants! They're so smart and I can't get enough baby elephant gifs.
@jennifer_louise ugh keeping RE expectations at bay is SO difficult! You want them to do and say exactly what you desire and then they try to be "safe" or "scientific" and I'm like "just give me what I want!" haha. Where will you be at in your cycle for your RE appointment?
@mokay19 We have a hardcore Yeti habit at my house - I bought the new lunch bag just for my IVF meds. 😆
@jennifer_louise I know, I'm so excited! But I'm also starting to worry about being told I have no good eggs to transfer. Trying to stay positive and keep myself stress free. Also, I love all large cats. I always look for mountain lions when I hike - partly so I'm not attacked and partly just to see one!
@mokay19 my thoughts exactly!! I'll be on CD14 (probably like O day, basically). And of course my stupid brain is like well, surely the RE will just go ahead and do a surprise IUI on the spot and I'll only ever have to visit the RE once! 😂 Not cool, jennifer.
@ruby696 have you seen one?? I haven't, but I have seen two brown bear cubs while backpacking and they were so roly poly and adorable! I was terrified, though because I didn't see their mama and so I didn't know if I was in the very dangerous position of being in between them or not. Thankfully they moved along without incident.
@jennifer_louise I've seen a cub playing about 50 feet away from a group of us. It was not at all concerned that we were watching and I was the only one in the group concerned that the cub was not concerned - mom was obviously close by and we just could see her. I moved on pretty quickly I would love to see bear Cubs! But again, not so much mom...
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): TI with progesterone post-O
How are things going?: AF finally left over the weekend and I'm ready to get this show on the road. I tend to O around CD20 but I *think* it might happen earlier this cycle. We'll see, though. Over all I am doing OK, I skipped a family cookout yesterday because *TW* I just wasn't up to being around a bunch of toddlers and newborns so close to my empty due date *end TW*. I felt bad not going, but I think it was the right choice. As much as I hate that summer is winding down, I'm glad to have the distraction of getting ready for the new school year right now.
Any questions?: Nope. If this cycle is a bust, we'll do IUI in October and then I am sure I will have a trillion questions.
GTKY: What’s your favorite animal from the wild? Ooooh...I love deer, I just think they are so beautiful and graceful. I could stare at the ones in my yard for hours! I also love otters because they're so darn cute. BTW if anyone HASN'T googled "Otters that look like Matt Damon", you should. You're welcome.
@kpearse99 no wonder they're growing slow, I never blessed your cycle with my Jurassic Park gif! Gotta return the favor after you got all the customers to leave me alone last week 🙂
@misshelen86 hope you can get an RE appointment really soon!
@hanshotfirst77 I did about 9 days of stims and for me I didn't feel that uncomfortable right before the ER. I know some people feel super bloated and can't fit in their pants, but I didn't have that problem at all. At times I felt a little pain moving around but probably because it was more crowded in there than normal. Otherwise I felt fairly normal. Hope you continue that way too!
@mokay19 time to party now that AF has left the building 😎
@ruby696 glad your stims are going well! Sooo close!!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Baseline US and lab work tomorrow for FET AAAAHHHHH I can't believe we're getting so close! If I get the all clear I start the estradiol valerate injections on Thursday.
How are things going?: Dealing with a few triggers around but I'm doing quite well. Just gotta stay focused on the goal!
Any questions?: What's a good technique when you're doing the IM injections yourself? DH always did my trigger for me, but I'm going to be on my own half the time for this FET so I need help with how I should do it (bonus if it works for when you're in a public bathroom).
GTKY: What’s your favorite animal from the wild? This is a tough question! I like a lot of animals. I loved turtles as a kid. I probably most love birds now, especially the big birds of prey and falcons, etc. One of my favorite birds at our zoo is the rhinoceros hornbill. They're quite large and our zoo has been trying to get them to breed for a few years now. No success yet!
Oh... And of course hedgehogs 😄

@emeraldduchess glad you can really get the show on the road! And if your gut tells you that you made the right decision by not going to the family BBQ then you absolutely did. You have to do what’s best for you.
@inthewoods23 aw man thanks for that little one gif!!! I need it 😂 (now I’m gonna be saying that to my eggs for the next few days!!)
blood results came back. LH is slightly elevated, they said, at 12.5. They want us to have sex Wednesday night and to come back in Thursday for ultrasound and bloodwork to see if I'm still ovulating on my own or if we’ll do the trigger.
What is the typical LH level that indicated O, anyone know?

@inthewoods23 Tomorrow is an exciting US day for a bunch of us - good luck with yours! I've done my IM injections a few times and it's been NBD. I do ice the injection site while I'm preparing the injection, so I'd recommend that if you can. When I had to travel, I just used the ice pack I had keeping my meds cool.
I'm going to try really hard to stay on top of this thread this week!
@kpearse99 keeping everything crossed for you that the timing works out and this IUI does the trick for you! I don't really know much about follies, I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. If you find anything out, please let us know! I have the same fear about mine since i typically O on the earlier side and I had O pain the night of my u/s last time (when the RE said to wait another day before the trigger)
@misshelen86 I'm glad you're finding ways to cope with everything and that you had a fun weekend! That's so exciting that you have a referral in the works! FX you can get in sooner rather than later!
@hanshotfirst77 yay for minimal side effects! I'm glad everything is going well. I hope your scan goes well tomorrow!
@mokay19 I'm glad AF is vacating the premises! FX for your timing! My trigger was refrigerated once it was mixed but didn't have to be before that, not sure if that helps at all.
@jennifer_louise what's work???? I'm so excited for your appt next week! Sorry you're feeling hopeless - I'm right there with you. Sending you lots of creepy hugs! Also, I knew I loved you, elephants are my favorite too!
@ruby696 ahhh! So exciting that your ER is this week - I hope you get good news tomorrow! I'm so excited for you!
@emeraldduchess I'm so glad AF wrapped it up! It sounds like you made the right choice yesterday for your heart, sometimes we have to protect ourselves. I can't even imagine dealing with all that so close to your due date. Creepy hugs to you as well, friend.
@inthewoods23 I hope everything goes well tomorrow and you get the go ahead! SO exciting!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): literally just took my first dose of letrozole...TI + trigger
How are things going?: ok. Just ready to get this show on the road. I don't really trust my body to be successful with this treatment plan so I'm wishing we could just skip to the cycle where we add an IUI. However, I still don't trust the timing and have a lot of the same questions as @kpearse99 about potentially releasing immature follies. I'm going to be that annoying patient who comes with like 30 questions to their monitoring US because it's the only time I can actually speak with my doctor rather than a nurse that just rushes me off the phone after 1 question.
Any questions?: none atm.
GTKY: What’s your favorite animal from the wild? Definitely elephants! They're so cute, and I love the babies!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Waiting on RPL testing to come back and will schedule SHG when cycle starts.
How are things going?: Better. There was some confusion on my part about when we could restart Letrozole & start trying again. Turns out next cycle will just be SHG and not trying, so that was a big bummer when I found that out after speaking to the nurse on Friday. I’m trying to be positive though that the testing will show us something...and also going to use this time to be healthier and hopefully lose a few lbs. My HCG was down to just under 2 on Thursday though, so hopefully my cycle will start soon and we can get this show on the road! If not, they will give me Provera to jumpstart my cycle.
Any questions?: None yet, but I may after all the test results come back.
GTKY: What’s your favorite animal from the wild? Lions...they are beautiful creatures, but also super scary!
@kpearse99 fingers crossed so hard everything looks great to trigger on Thursday!! No insight from me, just sending positive vibes!
@misshelen86 sorry for the bitter feelings! That’s good you have been doing yoga recently! I’m just starting to learn about the mind/body techniques...curious to see if any of them will be for me! Hope work goes well tonight!!
@hanshotfirst77 yay, your ER is so close!! Good luck with your US tomorrow, hope you see lots of good follies!
@mokay19 yay for AF making her exit! Hope your timing works out perfectly!!
@ruby696 yay for your ER being this week!! I hope your US goes well tomorrow and you see lots of good follies too! You are doing a fresh transfer, right? How many days later is that done?
@jennifer_louise hoping your RE appt. goes great next week, and you will be happy with the plan! Oh, I started a post this morning and then got busy with work...and then this thread blew up, so I just had to wait and finish tonight! Those penguins in sweaters were adorable...and yes, baby elephants! 😍
@emeraldduchess glad AF is over! Hoping so hard this is your cycle! Haha, thanks for the otters that look like Matt Damon tip...hilarious!
@inthewoods23 good luck with your appt. tomorrow, I hope you’ll be starting your injections Thursday! You are so close!! ☺️ I love that you have a hedgehog...Pinecone is so cute!!
@b_1029 yay for starting Letrozole! That stinks the nurses rush you off the phone...I’d say have no shame in your list of questions then! +1 for loving baby elephants!
@kpearse99 IU/L is the units that it’s reported in. It’s basically just the international units per liter. It would be labeled LH or luteinizing hormone if they gave you the names of each result.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Just TI. Next cycle will start clomid, IUI, trigger shot.
How are things going?: I'm trying not to get my hopes up that this cycle will work and we can avoid treatment. I'm also trying to temper my expectations for IUI. I guess you could say I'm feeling really hopeful right now. And that makes me nervous!
Any questions?: I am eating up all of the information everyone is providing to @kpearse99 about IUI. I O really early normally, so I'm paranoid that I'll drop all my eggs before the first US! Also, the new thread about clomid was surprisingly educational for me, so maybe I should be asking more about that, but I'm not sure what to ask!
GTKY: What’s your favorite animal from the wild? I loooove fennec foxes. They're so goofy looking, but still adorable.
@b_1029 IKWYM about wanting to get the show on the road. Maybe we can be IUI buddies? (that's what I'm secretly hoping my RE will say). I have alllll the same questions, glad we can all compare notes! Although, how about instead we both miracously head over to May BMB with baby elephant gifs in tow. ❤️
@inthewoods23 I'm so excited for you this month!! I can't believe it's finally here.
@bluetickgal sorry for being on the bench unexpectedly. That always sucks. Hopefully the one cycle off will lead to some answers and a little break.
@shoogapoff that was truly epic gif-ing. A+ for effort, my friend. And as for the other thread... I had no idea that the Kate Plus 8 (or whatever they're called) were from Clomid! Holy cow.
@ruby696 that’s so exciting! I’ve got everything crossed for you!
@shoogapoff bravo on your gif game!! 👏🏻 I think being hopeful is great!! I’m hoping this will be your cycle and you won’t even need the IUI either! I’ve learned so much since being on here...this is such an amazing, knowledgeable, and supportive community!!
@jennifer_louise thanks! I’m hoping it goes by fast, but I’m going to try and enjoy the low-stress of a break too!
@b_1029 well, we are in this together then! I hope the letrozole treats you well and that you do ask all of your questions every time you’re in the office for monitoring. I ask a million too!
@bluetickgal ugh that news about having to wait another cycle is never what anybody wants to hear. I’m sorry you’ve been caught off guard with that news. I hope the testing comes back with some solid insight for you. Everything will work out ♥️
@shoogapoff dang girl with the amazing gifs!!! Totally lifted my spirits!! Also, that fox is freaking adorable!!!

@misshelen86 I hope you can get into your RE soon!
@shoogapoff Excellent gif game! It can be hard managing expectations, but I am hopeful for you too! Fx!
@jennifer_louise I'm sorry you are struggling right now. Big hugs
@b_1029 I know exactly how you feel about asking questions. Sometimes I really hate the communication at my RE office. Sometimes I wish it was easier to just ask the doctor a question.
@bluetickgal I'm sorry about being unexpectedly benched. That really stinks. But hopefully the treatment plan and the rest of your testing all goes well!
@emeraldduchess Sometimes you need to do what's best for you with these things. I understand completely. I have skipped a few events over this past year or so and I've felt guilty too but self care is important too. Hugs
AFM had my monitoring appt this morning. RE said everything looks good so far, I am to continue meds as normal and come back Thursday for another check. As for my ovaries...
@kpearse99 thanks! I realize another month really isn’t the end of the world in the grand scheme of things.
@hanshotfirst77 thank you!! Yay, so happy your appt. went well! Lots of follies, so exciting!! ☺️
I got a call back from my RE’s office this morning, and all my RPL (bloodwork) came back normal/negative. We will proceed with the karyotyping now and then wait for the SHG next cycle.

Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained IF
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO/WTO IUI
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): letrozole, trigger and IUI

11/20- Mock transfer/ERA
12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN
3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021
12/21- Baby girl born!

@hanshotfirst77 yay for stimming! I must have missed your update that your bloodwork was good to proceed so I'm super happy for you!
ETA: I'm sure the level of discomfort will depend on the amount of eggs. I had a friend that retrieved about 20 eggs and she said that she definitely needed some rest right before and after because she just felt uncomfortably "full"
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO

I would tell my RE that I got a peak after just seeing a 17 mm follicle. That could be concerning if you are ovulating immature follicles. I'm sure they'll check your LH in the bloodwork, but I think it's always good to give them as much information as you have.

@mokay19 Hope everything works out with the timing!
@jennifer_louise It’s just a baseline ultrasound to check my ovaries/uterus. The waiting is so annoying! Your appointment must be coming up pretty soon though?

@misshelen86 FX you get an appointment soon! I'm glad your doctor got the ball rolling.

Also, you're doing so awesome with the injections! I can't wait to hear how the appointment goes tomorrow.. FX for good follies!
@misshelen86 yes! See below (:
AFM- sorry my tags got all messed up, I was trying to write my update and got distracted by actual work. Booo.
Diagnosis: unexplained
Status: WTO
What are you doing this cycle? Nothing! Used up all my Clomid (honestly, good riddance) and now waiting for my RE consult next Friday! Also, probably SMEP.
How are things going? On the struggle bus, but trying not to let hopelessness touch every aspect of my life. I also need to temper my expectations for my RE consult. Right now, I have a strong idea of what I want to hear and do next, but I need to relax and let my RE be the expert.
Any questions? Not right now.
GTKY: I pick elephants! They're so smart and I can't get enough baby elephant gifs.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
@jennifer_louise hope your consult goes well!
Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFFET

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TTA
@b_1029 I'm right there with you on not trusting my body. But we gotta have faith!
@inthewoods23 i'm so excited for you!!! Also, I love turtles too.
@emeraldduchess Bahaha!
@jennifer_louise Its so hard to be hopeful and realistic. I hope your RE recommends something you feel really good about. Also, baby elephants!
@ruby696 and @hanshotfirst77
@mokay19 Yay for AF being gone!
@misshelen86 That's awesome that you're getting into yoga! I've always wanted to try goat yoga!

Holy cow.

Hugs
