@blueskychicago12 I think mine keeps me in place almost a little too well...the downside is I've noticed I've been waking up in the middle of the night when my body wants to change positions, instead of it just doing it naturally like it would without the pillow. I pretty much just rotate between the right and left now, and haven't woken up on my back or belly since getting the pillow.
I am curious if those belly bands, that let you wear non maternity pants unzipped are really worth it.
I think a bunch of my pants would still fit with those but if they just bunch up or slide around forget it. Anyways it's too hot for pants here so I've been wearing dresses and skirts.
@bookworm492 I’ve found they work pretty well- I’m in kind of the same boat where my normal pants fit everywhere except my waist for the most part. I got my Bella Bands from the Gap, and they are a nice dense material with a sticky gel-type strip on one end to grip your pants. They have been great! About $30. I would definitely give it a shot- maternity clothes haven’t fit well most of this pregnancy so far for me, and these have helped me not feel so sloppy when I dress. Bonus: You can wear them after you have the baby for a bit of support, too, sort of like a compression sleeve for your torso, but not as tight.
@cpk3535 I'm glad to hear they have them at the gap, as I have a gift card to there! I haven't bought any maternity wear yet, I'm still in most of my regular clothes except for the very fitted stuff.
Does anyone have experience ordering things online from Motherhood Maternity? There's a pair of pants on sale today that I'd really like for our camping road trip in two weeks. The free shipping says it can take "up to 10 business days"...I live in a rural part of the country, and I really want to make sure I get these pants in time! (For reference, whatever Amazon's delivery date says, everyone in my town knows to add 1 day).
I can have it shipped to the store for free, but that means a 2.5 hour drive one way to go pick it up. :P I might go this route just to be safe...
@ninrms I ordered a few things back in June, they shipped from NJ so to get to Baltimore it took a day. I placed the order on a Tuesday, and had it in my hands Thursday. hope that helps!
@ninrms I've ordered 2 things from them so far, and each were delivered to me in less than a week. Not sure about how that is with you being so rural, but that's been my experience so far. I haven't waited the full 10 days yet.
@anniemarie887@rjgmcmanus Thank you!! That helps! I just decided to order it and hope for the best...cross your fingers it gets here in time! I'm extra nervous because, upon reflection, I realized this is the FIRST EVER piece of clothing I've purchased online (I reaaaally prefer to try stuff on first), so I'm kind of nervous, lol.
Edit: Update! Already got an email that it shipped. Now to see how long before it actually arrives...
Hey ladies, I just got this at Target to hold in my belly/hold up pants that I can no longer button, but still want to wear.... it stays really snug and in place...loving it.
FYI, for anyone looking for workout clothes, Old Navy has become my go-to for this pregnancy. They were having an activewear sale a few days ago--sorry I didn't post about it then, life got super hectic. But they run sales pretty frequently, and even without sales, their stuff is really reasonable priced--especially since these are basically things we'll only be wearing for a few months, I'm personally not going to spend a ton. https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=8454
I just bought two of these; they are on sale for $20. I figured they will be comfy for Fall when I'm getting huge, and then once the baby comes, there are zippers on the side so you can whip out a boob! 😄https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=370009
Bought a pair of these in black...got them, loved them so much, I bought a pair in olive! They're $17. I'll admit they're kind of at an awkward length (for my taste) rolled down, but love them as capris. Very lightweight.
@cpk3535@ktmaesim I tried the sweatshirts on last night and they are super soft and cozy. Highly recommend! @ninrms Thanks - I'm ordering those! They may be a better choice than the drawstring joggers I've been trying to pull off as "work appropriate" lately.
I spent three years coveting Encircled's "dressy sweatpants" and finally bought them last year. I LOVE them and I think they might even work better as maternity pants than when I'm not pregnant. They are made of modal and have pleats and pockets so they actually do function as work appropriate. They are on the pricier side but since they work both pregnancy and non I thought they were worth it.
@rjgmcmanus how have you found the sizing on Old Navy stuff? The stores near me don’t carry maternity anymore so I have to order online, and I have no idea how true to size it all is...
@midgerose86 I found the activewear to be true to size, though I did find the couple dresses I got to run a little large--not so much that it's keeping me from wearing them, especially since I'm sure they'll fit better in a couple weeks when I'm bigger. But yeah, activewear was on point.
You all need this sun dress in your wardrobe. Trust me. Great length above ankle and doesn't drag, super light and adjustable straps. So perfect for global warming!! Def bump friendly and you can size up if not. In love
@ktmaesim I got a work skirt from them...it was okay. I don't know if their other items are better, but I wasn't that impressed with the skirt. I kept it anyway because I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it, and it wasn't TERRIBLE, but it's not my favorite thing I've owned. I thought I'd be getting a sleek, cute pencil skirt...and instead I got something that basically looks like a black tube with a bunchy elastic band at the end of it. When worn with the correct top, it looks decent, but yeah...
Their dresses look cute though. And you might have better luck with other items. But based on my experience, I'm staying away from their skirts from here on out.
Target has clearance on swimsuits, some shorts, and their skinny crop side panel jeans. I snagged some jeans for $15 and I’m planning on rocking them well into fall (I’m 5’3 so cropped for normal people is like uncropped for me) as long as my ass doesn’t explode again.
PSA for those with ultra sensitive skin/boobs...finally gave up on my Cake maternity bras and bought the French Terry racerback from Kindred Bravely. Has very little elastic and no underwire, but awesome coverage...probably going to buy at least one more because it doubles as a nursing/sleep bra. This was the first day in months I didn’t tear off my bra the second I walked in the door. 😭
Uniqlo has a great deal on maternity jeans right now for $15 and jeggings for $10. I just got a pair of the jeans and love them. Very cute and flattering!
Found out a few months ago that zara has maternity clothes! You just have to type maternity in the search bar of their site. The pants are super comfy and cute!
So it's not exactly maternity or pregnancy gear, but I was pointed towards this amazing cross-body purse by another mom-friend, and I've never looked back since. It's seriously the best thing for having with babies and toddlers, I can access everything I need without even having to put him down when I'm carrying my son. The only time it's not convenient is for baby-wearing because I haven't quite figured out how to wear both at the same time, but my first wasn't a big fan of it anyway so I never really tried to make it work.

Old Navy has a 40% off sale right now and there’s some maternity stuff on clearance, so I ordered two dresses for $11 each, a work shirt for $8, and pants for $17 and $24. I’m getting ready for going back to work in September and I didn’t want to spend a lot on warm weather stuff, but my school isn’t air conditioned 😫
Bought this for my baby shower this fall...only $40, and it is maternity-friendly and made for nursing. I wasn't keen on spending too much on something I wouldn't wear after the birth, so I'm pumped about this find.
Pea in the Pod Maternity has a big sale going online...mostly bras, camis, and PJs. I've never tried any of their stuff, so I can't vouch for it, but there are some great deals!
@ktmaesim So many good deals! Alas I was heartbroken to have my cart increase 70% with shipping and duty - Canadians beware 😭. I didn't end up getting anything.
can this be an un-spotlight? I bought some maternity underwear from Kohls (I think they're playtex?). I've worn them like three times and they already have a giant hole in them! so note, don't buy the maternity underwear from Kohls, they don't hold up.
