  • When is everyones first ultrasound? Mine is at 6 weeks 3 days. Im a little worried about not seeing a heartbeat. Has anyone had a Ultrasound done so early? What was your outcome?

  • My first is at 7 weeks 5 days!
  • @cicchettimama00 mine is at 9 wks. I did have an ultrasound last pregnancy and 6 wks and everything was ok.

  • @cicchettimama00 Depending on how certain you are of your dates, etc, it might be a bit early to see the heartbeat. I think that’s right around 6 weeks. But, they should be able to see something. I don’t think it’s uncommon to get them around 6 weeks particularly if you have a history of IF or loss. My OB does dating ultrasounds at around 8 weeks and nothing before that, so mine is 8/22 at 7w6d (but maybe more like 7w1d due to late O).

  • @cicchettimama00 - Mine is at 7 weeks 5 days as well (calculated from LMP). Sorry I dont have experience with an early ultrasound as im a FTM.
  • @cicchettimama00 I had one around then last pregnancy (a little bleeding they wanted to check out) and they could see that it has implanted properly (i.e. it wasn’t an ectopic pregnancy), but they couldn’t see a heartbeat yet.

Mine is at 9 weeks this time.
  • Ultrasound not booked yet. But with my second I had an ultrasound early just past 6 weeks they had to have just caught the heartbeat starting as it was low they thought I was going to have another miscarriage so they sent me for another a week later but warned me to be prepared. I was worried for a full week then went back and the heartbeat was great and strong.

  • Mine is at 7w2d. Praying to see/hear that little flicker!
  • My first appointment is early September - I’ll be almost nine weeks. I’m eager to know more about what is going on in there!
  • With my first, my ultrasound was exactly 6 weeks (thought I was further along, but late O pushed me back). Although my technician was so unbelievably rude, and traumatized me, there was indeed a visible heartbeat.  She showed me it flickering on the screen, but i couldn’t hear it as she said baby was too small for the amount of sound-waves and could do “damage”.
  • I had an ultrasound last time at 9 weeks and unfortunately didn’t hear a heartbeat. This time, they scheduled me at 7w1d for an early ultrasound because of my history of loss.
  • @courtneya1620 thats so amazing! congrats
  • Ultrasounds already?! Mine isn’t until the 30th, at over 8wks. Time is crawwwwling. 🥴
  • @courtneya1620 yay for great heartbeats! Happy for you. Congratulations! 🎉
  • @mama-llama I’m the same!!  my first appointment is also on the 30th and at over 8 weeks!
  • @babyrummom I had an appt for the 23rd originally, but realized I have a family wedding I’ll be traveling to, so had to reschedule. But I considered whether this wedding I RSVP’d for months ago was something I need to attend. 😂
  • Ultrasound scheduled for Aug 28th. Mine is so early because im high risk. Hopeful i will see something and see a heartbeat!
  • @cicchettimama00 I’m a day before you! Hoping for the same... in my last pregnancy I didn’t get a heartbeat... I’m ready for that sweet flicker!
  • @courtneya1620 hooray for a strong heartbeat! <3 So happy for you!
  • @mama-llama Same!! I was scheduled for the 20th initially, but couldn’t do that week because we were on vacation!
  • @babyrummom ha, great! So see you on the ultrasound post at the end of the month? ;)
  • @sdang1 that is wonderful news!!!! Congrats!
  • I'm right around 5 weeks!!! (So early, but couldnt help but take the test as soon as i missed my period, since we were trying!) Ultrasound will be September 12th and we're praying for a good, healthy heartbeat and for time to fly to Sept 12!!
  • @mama-llama see ya then! 😬
  • @alicia_buzzard89 I’m in the same boat. About 5 weeks and my appointment isn’t until 9/13. It feels like an eternity!
  • @aresee I found out on the 2nd and appt was made for the 30th. I’m a STM and still super impatient to see my baby!

    2 weeks down, 2 to go. 😁
  • good luck everyone with letting time fly by!
  • We had our first ultra sound at 5 weeks 3 days and the doctor said everything was looking as expected. We went back yesterday for a 2nd ultrasound at 6 weeks 3 days and even though they could see the yok sac and my beta numbers are up/doubling they could not find a HB.. I am beside myself right now and have to wait until Monday to go back for another ultrasound.

My hubby and I have  been TTC for over 7 years and after a year of fertility treatment we finally got a BFP.

Has anything like this happened to anyone else? I am trying to stay positive but I'm so nervous.

Thanks for listening. We haven't told anyone about the BFP so it's nice to have someone to talk to on here.
  • @Wittlebuddy I’ve never had an ultrasound done so early and mine is next week at 6+4 and I’ve been trying to stay positive but after infertility, I’m nervous too. I’m no expert - but if your beta numbers are up and still doubling that is a good sign so maybe focus on that to help stay positive. Is there something you enjoy that could distract and/or be calming to you?  Get outside, go to a movie, get a pedicure, try a new restaurant, get together with a friend or two.... you’ll know what works for you. I’m thinking of you and hope to hear about seeing a HB from your baby on Monday.
  • It could be still too early. With my second I had a ultrasound around the same time they heartbeat was only like 80 something the ultrasound tech had me scared thinking I was going to miscarry again. After speaking with some other people we guessed they just caught the heartbeat starting I went back in a week later and the heartbeat was 140+. I know it's hard to not think the worst but try and stay positive think of the high numbers and thoughts will be with you that everything turns out ok.

  • It seems too early! My first was at 7.5w with my daughter and it took a minute to find the heartbeat. Just a few days later— it was much stronger and easier to find.

Stay strong and have faith, mama. ❤️
  • Because I've been working with a fertility specialist, I received an early ultrasound (6w 2d). Everything was measuring great (according to the doc), and they said they could see early cardiac activity, but that they would not bother trying to measure bpm so early.

This of course has me very nervous, but they said it's never exact and that typically between 6.5 and 7 weeks is when they can confirm a heartbeat. Seems like maybe you were just a little too early and hopefully today will give you clarity. Sending good vibes your way!

My next ultrasound is at 8 weeks with the specialist. They weren't too concerned because they saw the "cardiac activity," but to me I feel still so unsure.
  • Hang in there mama.. try to stay positive and keep busy - that's at least what helped me.
  • @Wittlebuddy congrats on the great news! what a way to start the week. Hope the next ultrasound brings in more joy.
  • Great news!! So glad to hear. I have my first ultrasound next Tuesday, can’t wait for it, usually time goes by so fast but I feel like since becoming pregnant time seems to move slower that it used to haha.
