Re: August Appointments

  • @stashattack I'm doing mine in a couple of weeks and the baby class tomorrow. Probably too early but I didn't want to be swamped with school too 🤷

  • @kbrown2385 when is the next scan? Glad so far the news isnt bad. Thinking of you and the babies!!!
  • @kbrown2385 glad the appointment went well but tough that you still have to wait to find out what's realy going on. thinking of you!
  • @kbrown2385 im sorry your appointment didnt give you more clarity or reassurance. I know it is much easier said than done but try not to worry & be kind to yourself. Xxx
  • @kbrown2385 I'm sorry you'll need to do an amnio but hope it will bring you good news and peace of mind.
  • @kbrown2385 that sucks about your appointment. I hope your amnio goes well at your next scan, which I hope is sooner rather than later for your mind <3

Thank you everyone ❤️. We are still trying to be hopeful.

@biolprof next scan is the 23rd

@FyreFlyeRush thank you for sharing your experience with the amnio. I’ve settled down after doing some more research, but I’m sure I’ll have more questions the closer we get.

@amb0924 I have my moments for sure lol.

Edit because autocorrect is the worst

  • @kbrown2385 Will keep thinking of you and crossing fingers for a great scan on 8/23!
  • @kbrown2385 I'm sorry you didn't get more definitive answers. Hopefully an additional scan gives you more insight before the amnio
  • @kbrown2385 sorry you didn't get more reassurance at this appt. Hopefully your next scan is clearer. The amnio doesn't sound as bad as reputation suggests and if it gives you a definitive answer for peace of mind then it's well worth it. Keeping you in my thoughts! ❤
  • had a good midwife appointment yesterday, we agreed to do the glucose test around 28 weeks and then do a repeat one later after 30 weeks. I'm actually happy with this since with DD I definitely had diabetes like symptoms near the end and DD came out massive for someone who is so tiny, so they want to double check I don't develop it later on since apparently some women do!

Definitely happy since I doubt my old OB would have gone for any of this
  • I had my anatomy scan yesterday. I haven't gotten official "results" yet but the u/s tech seemed pretty cheerful and they didn't call a doctor right in (they can and do) so I assume all was well. I have an anterior placenta which is good to know because I have been feeling much less movement than I did with my son. Baby girl was clearly sleeping so they had to jiggle my stomach to get her to move a few times. She was not measuring huge, which is happy news. The tech described her as "slightly above average."

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k that's great that your MW is going to tailor the GD testing protocol to your history. FX you don't develop it but always better to know if you do.
  • @Xstatic3333 congrats on the good scan. I really don't want a big baby. I would be happy with slightly above average! DH was huge so I'm not super hopeful...

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k glad the MW is listening. I just had an experience with my OB where I'm annoyed. I feel like she brushed off a concern because I'm in normal limits. She hasn't done this alot but still annoyed so I'm glad you're concern was listened to!
  • @leprechaunlady so glad everything looks good! So exciting you’re team purple too! Mine were at 25% difference two weeks ago so that’s reassuring.
  • @kbrown2385 im so glad today went well. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow! How soon will you get to discuss any results etc?
  • @kbrown2385 - Feisty little twins already showing their personalities! So glad they were doing good!
  • @leprechaunlady preliminary results are back within a few days, up to two weeks with the micro array results. I have another scan in two weeks with mfm so I hope we will be able to discuss them then.

@marebear15 the midwife told me good luck with them 😆🤦🏻‍♀️
  • @kbrown2385 maybe you’ll want to invest in some boxing gloves and helmets for them
now for when they are older 🤣🤣

  • @kbrown2385 I’m sorry this has been dragged out for you so much, but it sounds like you’ve at least gotten some reassuring news!

I had my anatomy scan bright and early this morning, and all went well apart from having a very uncooperative baby. She started off the scan breech and had flipped to head down by the end of it trying to get away from the pokes and prods or the U/S tech. All measurements they were able to get were fine, but they weren’t able to get good heart pics due to her positions (or any cute profile shots), so they’re going to do another scan at my 28 week appt. In other news, I’ve gained a total of 10 lbs so far. Eek.
  • Baby seems to be kicking along, literally, just fine. He started by immediately kicking the doppler. My blood pressure is down a total of 25pts, and 10 since I started taking the meds. Yay!!! Still on 4w appts, but I will have to start having weekly ultrasounds at 28w. I have mixed feelings about that.
  • Saw the OB today and they had a hard time finding the heartbeat.  For once I was not freaking out because baby was so active I could feel it and hear it on the Doppler.  Took like 3 minutes of chasing baby around before they could get it to pick up.  It was kind of funny and I forgot how amazing it is to feel baby moving!  I'm always amazed and what our bodies can do.
  • @peppyj9 - I had the same thing happen with the doppler and needing an ultrasound.  So scary!  Did they tell you when the labs will come back?

  • @MollySm they should be back next week. I have a follow up appt this Thursday to recheck my blood pressure. Hoping it comes down otherwise I may soon need to be put on medication and/or bedrest 😖 honestly though, I feel totally fine, but we'll see what happens.
  • @peppyj9 depending on when they checked and how high it was, it could have been high due to the stress of not finding the heartbeat quickly. Hopefully labs come back normal!
  • @persnickity thank you. my OB suggested that as well, that I may have just been stressed from the appt, especially since I was nervous to begin with since I hadn't been seen in over a month and then trouble finding heartbeat 😯 But the top # was reading140 so she wanted to do labs just to be sure I'm not developing preeclampsia or anything, although I haven't had any other symptoms. Now that I've seen baby very much active, I feel much more relaxed, so hopefully blood pressure will show that when I go back Thursday and labs come back normal 🤞
  • @peppyj9 Ask if you can take your blood pressure at home too. For some people, it can be elevated only at the doctor's office - white coat syndrome. ☺️
  • @peppyj9, mine has been yucky from the get go this pregnancy. I think it's due to my loss in January. At one point it was 155/90. But, if they check it again after the appointment, once I've learned everything is fine, it drops. White coat syndrome is real. They put me on baby aspirin and Lobetalol for the rest of my pregnancy as a precaution. The upside is I get weekly growth scans from 28 weeks on.
