  • @kbrown2385 - Yay for honest people and for getting a scan sooner!!!
  • @kbrown2385 what a relief to get the care you need!
  • @kbrown2385 I am so glad to hear this! Hope this week flies in for you!
  • @kbrown2385 Just read this...Yayy!! So true about advocating for yourself.
  • @kbrown2385 great news! Proud of you for advocating for yourself! 👏
  • Great news @kbrown2385! Good job!

I did my early 1-hour test today. Now I swear I'm working and not just refreshing my email looking for the results....Honestly I have found lately that if I have too many sweets and not enough protein my brain gets fuzzy, so feel very fuzzy today after that drink and like focusing on work tasks is a big ask.
  • @Xstatic3333 I hate that drink, not for the taste but how it makes you feel after! Hope you get your results soon!
  • @kbrown2385 so glad they admitted their mistake and that you're getting a scan next week!!
  • @Xstatic3333 yay!! That’s great news. Now go get your ice cream girl!
  • i had an endocrine clinic appointment yesterday, which was a complete & utter waste of time! i took the afternoon from work to go sit in the hospital for 2 hours to see a diabetes consultant for all of 5 minutes. i had to request to have my liver function test rerun as the levels were out of range but they were reluctant because technically, the twin clinic are responsible for my obstetric care. They then said they wanted me back for the same shit in 2 weeks time and i said it was pointless given that i email in my blood sugar reading twice a week already for the exact same thing and i will be in on the wednesday of that week for my twin clinic. i fought my corner on it and the only leeway they would give me was come back in 3 weeks instead. So frustrating! The past 3 times i've had appointments ive come away annoyed or upset, here's hoping my anomaly scan goes better in 2 weeks time!
  • @leprechaunlady why did they want to see you again in 2 weeks? If the other people are in charge of obstetrics and they haven't done anything so far except monitor blood sugar? Money?
  • @biolprof im in northern ireland, so technically the uk & we have free healthcare so if anything they should be trying not to see me to save money if anything! I've questioned this aswell because unless theyre looking at the whole picture like how the babies growth etc is in relation to the blood sugars, what is even the point??!! but no one seems to be able to tell me  :/
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k it seems crazy that were at anatomy scan stage already! I dont think I would have your restraint to not open the envelope! Lol
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k awe that’s so awesome! I bet your dd was stoked to see the baby. I would be sooo tempted to peak in the envelope if it was me lol. Glad you had a great scan! I have to wait a month for mine and I’m dying to see it all!!
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k glad you had a great appointment! I don't know how you can go the whole pregnancy not knowing! Also, why do you have to wait until Monday for results? What kind of results? Did you get to see everything while she was doing it? Mine isn't until Sept 17th, I'm so anxious and no idea what to expect. I'm just looking forward to seeing baby again!
  • Let's say I have some good restraint! I think if I didn't go through my losses I would have been more eager to find out and do a gender reveal or something. Now after going through that, I'm just thankful to have a baby coming at all <3

@peppyj9 The technician is essentially measuring body parts / organs / heart etc. Once the images are done they send it to the radiologist who will review it and provide my midwife with the results. So technically the technician cannot/ is not trained to say anything in detail other than heart beat/ general size etc. Last time they saw some issues with DD and her heart and I had to go to a specialist where they did a long ultrasound test but luckily everything came back ok. You never know
  • @kbrown2385 - Is it possible that the twins are from ovulations a week or two apart? I've actually read about that happening.
I believe @FyreFlyeRush had an amnio done, right?
  • @marebear15 I have no clue. I didn’t think to ask. I know we weren’t very active that cycle so I’m not even sure if it’s a possibility.
  • @leprechaunlady, yes. I had one with my 2nd pregnancy. The hard part is waiting for the results. It's utterly nerve wracking. There's no time line. Some cells literally take longer. DS took the full 21 days. The risk involved is actually really low, inspite of all the online scary stuff. I felt some mild cramping when the needle hit my uterus and some twinges the next day or two...but they were so like the normal twinges, I doubt they were even from the procedure. I was just on high alert for them.

Remember not to lift anything for a few days, and to stay off your feet for as long as the MFM says. Get Hubby to do all the work. Order GrubHub, and find a new show to binge on NETFLIX. The Haunting of Hill House was fantastic.

  • @kbrown2385 it sounds like it was really good that you got in for your scan this week instead of any later. Hopefully there's good news from the geneticist next week.
  • @kbrown2385 I’m glad they were able to get you in and really hope you get good news from the additional testing.
  • @kbrown2385 I’m glad you finally got to see MFM but the size discrepancy is concerning. At least they confirmed they are di/di twins so twin to twin transfusion syndrome isn’t a concern. Good luck!
  • @kbrown2385 im sorry, that is such a worry! 🤞🏻 For all being well with the testing. You’ve already has such a rollercoaster of emotions this pregnancy, this is the last thing you need. Im so glad you were seen today & they are being proactive moving forward! Sending you all the creepy internet hugs! Xxx
  • @FyreFlyeRush thanks for the insight on the amnio. We aren’t 100% on doing it yet. Hoping to get better info from the geneticist since the dr gave us little to nothing.

    Thanks everyone ❤️
  • @kbrown2385 that's a lot of take in!  I'm a fraternal twin and I was almost a pound bigger than my twin.  I just always assumed that sometimes twins are just different sizes.  Obviously your doctors will know best and I hope everything turns out good!
  • @mispanda I’ve been hearing that a lot! My friends sil had fraternal twins b/g twins and she was almost 3lbs bigger than he was at birth. I don’t know what to think and hoping we can get some more insight at our appt.
  • @kbrown2385 I actually knew someone who had dizoygotic twins with 3 weeks separation in the gestational age. It might make sense given that they didn't see baby b until much later. Hoping that the geneticist can give clarity!
  • @amb0924 it’s taken me a week to get my final list together. I’m sure there’s more I’m missing too. I’m so happy your scan went well today! I was hoping you were going to be able to see what they are 😬.
  • @kbrown2385
the sonographer said she "thinks she knows" but we decided to wait until the 20 week scan. It's our first and I think we're going to do all of the gender reveal hoopla for our parents
  • @amb0924 I need to make a running list. I totally forgot to ask my OB this time around about when to start taking birthing classes. Maybe I'll just shoot a message through the portal to ask. I just got sidetracked with the vaccine q's my MIL had and my real one slipped my mind. Grrr

  • @stashattack - I did birthing classes through my hospital, and most of the people there were around 27-36 weeks. You can't take them after 36 weeks, but don't take them too soon that you don't remember anything.
DH and I are going to do a refresher course so that he can be confident in his support role, and are planning on doing it middle of November before the holiday craziness.
  • @marebear15 yup, we plan to take the classes at our hospital too! I just need an idea because they fill up super fast, especially the evening weekday ones which we will probably use so we don't have to drive into the city during weird hours that we aren't already there. But good point about not doing them too early too. So much to plan and think about!
