  • @LauraJon2015 Would you mind providing your beta #s so I can include them in our nifty little spreadsheet?

    IUI #1-3 (Nov 2015, Feb 2016, May 2016) = BFNs

    FET #1 (Sept 2016) = BFP! DD born 5/30/17
    FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN
    FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20
  • Thanks for the reassurance @wifeinraleigh28

  • Good luck today @mrsjones91716 @covergirl2985

My entire first cycle with IVF was a fail the first time (this was last year). We didn’t get a single embryo. It was so devastating, out of 10 eggs only 1 even fertilized and it didn’t make it past a couple days. We switched clinics for our second IVF cycle and are having success thus far with a BFP on our first FET. I’m so glad we didn’t give up after the traumatic first cycle.
  • @bv8952 I also had several transfers. In December it was BFN first transfer cycle. Then had surgery for csection repair. Had 2 more transfers that were BFP, second transfer was bfp but levels didn’t double so they had me stop medication and miscarry at home, third cycle was BFP but they misdiagnosed me with ectopic d&c showed genetically normal boy in uterus and this is my 4th transfer for 5 cycles. After the first cycle my second cycle was cancelled and I had the csection repair 4 day’s prior to what was supposed to be transfer. It sometimes it takes a while but all worth it in the end.
  • Excited to hear the beta results today!!!
  • This is also my third transfer. I did 3 full rounds of IVF and 3 fresh transfers. 1 in Jan with BFN, 2 April with positive hcg of 2.5 but not quite positive. Third July and currently 7w2d with triplets.
  • @wifeinraleigh28 first beta was 9dpt and 64.5. Second beta was 11dpt and was 199.8. Based on transfer date, due date would be 3/25
  • Second beta 8/12 was 819.2 (first 8/9 was 305.8).  I was a little nervous about the number but the nurse said it's good. Go back Thursday for beta #3.

  • @mrsjones91716 Congrats that's a great increase! Your beta more than doubled in 72 hours (and it just needs to double in 72 hours) so that's awesome! I'm sure beta #3 will be strong as well!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 @italianmommy8 thanks y'all.  I've never gotten this far so everything makes me freak out still. And my 35th birthday is Wednesday so I'll be trying not to freak out then too and actually enjoy the day. I scheduled a prenatal massage at a really nice spa here so I would think they would be careful and told them my doctor said no lower back just in case and they also said they do the whole massage with me on my left side 'to allow as much oxygen as possible to the baby' which seems ridiculous so early but also I want to be super cautious.  Idk, I have until 11:30 tomorrow morning to cancel and may do that, has anyone done a massage this early before?

  • @mrsjones91716 at this stage I would just get a regular massage but tell them to be gentle on my lower back. Only because my uterus feels kind of tender. It won’t hurt anything to get a regular massage. Last time I got a prenatal massage in my 3rd trimester when it’s uncomfortable to be on your stomach and back so I was on my side the whole time. But this early you can be on back and stomach no problem. Enjoy your massage!!

  • So sorry to have been MIA after my initial post. I have been mostly avoiding ttc internet stuff to not get to caught up into symptom checking and anxiety. It is so wonderful to see all the BFPs on this board, just unbelievable! I don't think I have been on a board with this much good news!

I also got my BFP! 12dp5dt beta was 681 and 19dp5dt beta was 6028 (53 hour doubling time). I was initially a bit upset with the >48 hour doubling time (much like you @mrsjones91716 ), but my RE seemed to be really content with this numbers, so I will take it. I have my ultrasound and an an additional beta on Friday. @bv8952 I have done one retrieval and this was my third transfer *tw* I was successful with my first fresh, and then had a loss/cp on my first FET. this is my second FET. I feel especially lucky because I just did the one retrieval, and only had 5 fertilized eggs! I feel like I have beat the odds somehow, and am very grateful.

@italianmommy8 I am so happy to see your BFP, you've had such a difficult road! BTW I think the progesterone is fine, mine has fluctuated as well, and has gone down between 12dpt and 19dpt, and nobody seemed to think anything off it. I think at this point most of that is medication related, and does not have much to do with the viability of the pregnancy.

@wifeinraleigh28 Do you have any thoughts on when you will tell you toddler? I am thinking that if all goes well we will tell after the harmony blood test, although your embryos are PGS tested so you might feel comfortable before that time (at this point I am really wishing we had some PGS results, so I could skip over the anxiety of those first trimester screenings).

@mrsjones91716 I think a massage is totally fine, and sounds all sorts of wonderful! Although if you feel like you will be worried about it being harmful it might defeat the purpose?

@covergirl2985 hoping for great beta results today!

  • Your beta numbers are great @BalletAn
  • any word from @covergirl2985
thinking of you and hope you had a great first beta!
  • @BalletAn Congrats!! I was wondering what happened to you  Glad you decided to rejoin us and give us good news! As for when I'm going to tell my toddler... we've been talking to her about it for awhile but being that she's only 2 I know she doesn't completely comprehend. I'm just trying to get her used to the idea of a baby since I think it'll be a hard transition for her. She is very attached to us and always wants to be the center of attention. I can't hold a friend's baby without her getting very upset. When I get a bit further along I'll talk to her a lot about the baby in my tummy and help her to bond with him before he arrives!

When was your FET date? I'm adding you to our spreadsheet. You are welcome to add your info on your own if you prefer: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B4KntPZ0tNCqP-hXJwXzzQ4gmL4d3AvuSSEsEt88t2I/edit?usp=sharing

Took my Beta at 9:30a. They said they should have the number by tomorrow at noon...this waiting is so stressful!
My ED said they’re looking for a number over 50. Today I am 11dpt. Shouldn’t that number be closer to 400?

  • @covergirl2985 omg how frustrating that they won’t give you results same day!! No anything over 50 is fine. And honestly the initial number doesn’t really matter that much. It’s what your number does in 48-72 hours so the 2nd beta means more. I’ve even seen girls on here who had initial betas well below 50 (like 25-35) who had healthy pregnancies.

Second beta is 262.2 was 110.1 on Sunday!
Progesterone today was 22.47 and estrogen 316. They said everything is great congrats and I go back for my first ultrasound and blood work next Tuesday - August 20th!
  • @covergirl2985 I'm so sorry. Do they have you doing PIO shots? Your progesterone being so low is definitely a problem. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that this could turn around. Will you go for a 2nd beta tomorrow?

@italianmommy8 Congrats! I'm soooo happy for you! I know that this is your rainbow. Exciting that you get an ultrasound so soon!

AFM my first ultrasound is this afternoon and I'm excited/nervous/all the feels. I'll feel very relieved once we see a little bean with a heartbeat. I've been feeling awful the past few days which gives me hope.

  • @wifeinraleigh28 congratulations that's so fantastic.
  • @covergirl2985 I'm wishing strongly for you that the other is implanting  <3 all the waiting involved is torturous and only time will tell. I hope Thursday brings you better news. This is the toughest part of the cycle. When we're doing something ... injecting, retrieving, leading up to transfer, it feels like something is happening and we're actively engaging in the process.

AFM - I am going in Thursday for my #3 beta and first ultrasound. I believe it's too early to hear a heartbeat but they will be looking for yolk sac and gestational sac. I'm a bit nervous to be honest. They called me Friday while I was at the airport and told me my thyroid level was slightly high. (3.06 and it should be below 2.5). Will update you guys Thursday afternoon.

So glad to hear so many people are progressing and @wifeinraleigh28 on seeing heartbeat. so lovely  <3

  • @covergirl2985 I'm so sorry and do hope it turns around. My progesterone is also very low on suppositories and with my fresh cycle it was just 10 3-days post transfer, at which point they added promitrium. Did they check your levels during the 2ww? Otherwise I would definitely ask if low progesterone could have prevented development of the pregnancy post implantation. PIO gives me adequate levels so that is my go to now.

@italianmommy8 nice beta rise! I had an ultrasound at 5w 6d with my first and we saw a yolk sac and a fetal pole but no heartbeat.

    @wifeinraleigh28 Heartbeat yes! Congrats!

I had had to reschedule my ultrasound for next Monday at 6w 3d. They are also looking to get a 3rd beta, but with my beta being in the thousands now I might try to hold off, since it really isn't that informative at this point.
