@inthewoods23 that turkey pic reminds me of a really funny story about my grandmother! When she was in the nursing home, her window looked right out into the yard and there were frequently wild turkeys out there. Well, one day I came in to visit and she was in a MOOD. I asked her what was wrong and she said "The turkeys are being...inappropriate. Nobody wants to watch that!" I guess she was offended by the tukeys having "sexy time" in front on her window. 🤣
@b_1029 *hugs* I would feel bitter too. Sometimes life seems to work out so perfectly for some people and it just does seem fair.
@b_1029 so sorry, that planning/luck is kind of ridiculous! +1 for the bitter train over here though! It’s always conflicting...happy for them, but also sad/bitter!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@emeraldduchess LOL at your grandmother! Don't turkeys know we should be respectful of our elders? Also eagerly awaiting @mvt2003 's thoughts on turkeys having "sexy time." I would guess....not good??

@b_1029 that makes me feel bitter too! TW for similar story
My SIL had similar luck planning her kids around work and was a 1/1 each time. We are about to go on vacation with them and I am dreading the questions that I’m sure will come up once we are all buddies for the week. At least I’ll be able to drink my sorrows.

My SiL has had the exact same experience. KU on Cycle 1, 3/3 times. This is a huge part of why I am not sharing with MH's family that we've been trying for a year. We have agreed that if we make an RE appt and get some clarity/answers/a plan then we'll tell them, but until then we just have to survive the comments from extended family.

Thank you guys for sharing, it’s good to know I’m not alone!
@inthewoods23 luckily they don’t. I feel worse for her brother and his wife than I do for myself. *TW*
I’ve been talking to my cousin’s wife for a while about IF. It took them over a year to conceive their first, then had the opposite issue and had RPL trying to conceive their second. Now they’re trying for #3 and are back to the issues they had with #1. She said my cousin just has to sneeze and get KU. Even though they have LOs, I feel worse for them because I would be so annoyed if I was having all these issues while my sibling was just pumping them out with ease. I still do feel a bit sorry for myself though 😝
@b_1029 I hear you on that! Sigh. The other thought in my head was - omg they'll have to buy so many birthday gifts within a few months of each other and then a few months later is a big chunk of cash spent for Christmas gifts! It hurts my wallet just thinking about it!

For the past few weeks everyone in the IL fam has been kind of complaining about my nephew and niece's bdays being "only" a month apart, and how much work it is to throw back to back bday parties. Literally had to bite my tongue to my MiL on Sunday about it. All I ended up saying was, "they knew what they were doing when they had Niece." But jeez. SiL gets KU first cycle every freaking time, not sure why this is now a surprise to everyone that back to back kid bday parties is expensive and annoying. 🙄

Sorry that I continue to be whiny about everything on here, but I feel like we can’t catch a break. We bought a new washer / dryer and sold our old stuff on FB. When I was trying to disconnect them last night, I couldn’t get anything to work. Turns out we can’t turn any of our water off because all the handles on the pipes are stuck / corroded. We had a plumber come out to scope things out this morning and he said our hot water heater is effed and is blowing out carbon monoxide, so that’s good. To replace that, the worst of the corroded pipes, and the valves we actually called them for, will be about 3k. Damn these old homes.
Anyone have any suggestions for ways to earn some extra income? (I’m not crafty and DH says I can’t take a part time job at Target which is probably for the best haha) edited- words
@b_1029 That sucks. Would you consider babysitting or teaching English to foreign kids on VIPKid? They’d be early morning or late night hours since many of them are in Asia. I know both suggestions involve kids, which may be tough right now... but both ways to earn extra cash.

@b_1029 so sorry, that definitely stinks! I have a friend who is a secret shopper through an online service and makes some extra money by going to places the company says (and ones she would go to anyways) and then reviewing them. She told me the name of the company a while back, but then I never looked into it. I could ask if you are interested though. Not sure how long it would take to get set up and start making money though.
@b_1029 first you're denied queso, then shit hits the fan with your plumbing, now no Target employee perks? You can't catch a break! (Sorry, trying to be funny)
What about working as a dog walker?
A Google search of "easy ways to earn some extra cash" might give some good ideas. I think you can get paid to review products (sorta like the secret shopper thing), but not sure that's practical.

@b_1029 she said the name of the company is Marketforce. She doesn’t do it much anymore because she got tired of eating at the same places, but she said it was good to do for a while. Not sure how many places they would have in your area (she is in Louisiana and said she didn’t know how many places they would have in central KY where I am - I just told her I had a friend who was interested, didn’t explain it was on an online forum and I have no clue where you live 😂), but it might be worth looking into.
Thanks ladies. The good news is that the only things we’ll have left to replace after this is our oven, fridge, and ac unit *half- hearted laugh*
@inthewoods23 thank you! I have a Rover account but hardly ever get any jobs, lol. I’ll consult Google for more ideas. I have a bunch of clothes I could try and sell but it’s not like they’re super designer (mostly the Loft) but something would be better than nothing.
@bluetickgal I didn’t realize you were in KY, I’m in Louisville! I’ll check out that company- thanks!
@shamrocandroll I haven’t seen it, but I have seen the previews and it looks hilarious! Donna from P&R and Amber from Parenthood...how could it be bad?! I’ll be adding that to my watch list when I get home!
@b_1029 too funny, we are pretty close then! I grew up in Western KY, but then moved 3 hours away for college and never went back...so we drive through Louisville all the time to see my family! You’re welcome, hope it helps.

A Google search of "easy ways to earn some extra cash" might give some good ideas. I think you can get paid to review products (sorta like the secret shopper thing), but not sure that's practical.

@bluetickgal Have you seen Good Girls on Netflix? That's all I can think of when I hear secret shoppers now. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend.

*Edited to fix typo.
