How are you feeling?: still have some nausea on and off and still pretty tired. I have bursts of energy and do lots of stuff, then the next day I don’t want to do anything. Also having lightning boob on the left side. Not comfortable.
Rants/Raves: My sister is getting married in October so I started looking for a dress to wear. I’m not a dress person to begin with, so finding one while pregnant isn’t really on my list of things I’m excited about.
Questions: Anyone started thinking about nursery’s yet?

We're just talking the existing nursery, but with a different painting. We're moving DD to a new room next month.

How are you feeling?: My nipples are still crazy sensitive, but otherwise I'm feeling good. Struggling to eat a lot at each meal.
Rants/Raves: We bought the baby's first stuffed animal! The first thing we bought last time was a small stuffed animal when we started trying for DD. This time, it felt like we were putting off buying anything. It feels good to have that first purchase.

GTKY: What is your biggest/worst phobia (irrational fear)? Going blind is a far, but I don't count it as irrational, since I had a scare years ago with my eyesight. I still have this fear that I'm going to drop DD carrying her up or down the stairs. Haven't done it yet, but every flight of stairs it pops into my head.

How are you feeling?: Much more energy than last week, but I still tend to do to much and overtire myself and then I feel like crap the next day.
Rants/Raves: My parents are coming down to visit this week and bringing my youngest sister back to college. DD has been running around talking about "Gam-ma and Gam-pa" all day long. However, my youngest sister just broke up with her boyfriend of 1.5 years, so I know there's going to be a lot of sister talks and hugs and cries.
Questions: Does anyone else feel like time is flying? I was trying to remember which "fruit" the baby was and I was stuck on lemon, which was 2 weeks ago.
GTKY: What is your biggest/worst phobia (irrational fear)? My DD drowning. I'm paranoid around pools and water.

For nursery themes I’ve been thinking about a children’s storybook theme. It’s something I’ve had pinned since we started trying after ds. Any interest in starting a thread for it?
Since going blind isn’t as irrational, ill go with ds being abducted by human traffickers. There’s too many stories out there and it’s so prevalent in our area.
@kbrown2385 - I think a Nursery Idea thread would be great! Most people already know the gender of their baby, and probably already are thinking of ideas. A storybook theme sounds cute! My mom wanted me to do a Peter Rabbit theme for DD, but I went for a generic blush/gray theme.
@marebear15 we've been calling the baby polar bear, so we got a polar bear. 😊 It's the softest bear ever. Highly recommend Gund brand animals! That's great that you'll get to see family soon. Hopefully Grandma and Grandpa can take YD so you can have some good sister talks.
And yes, the time is flying way too fast! Once October hits, I feel like the end of the year goes fast normally. I can only imagine how fast it will be pregnant and due in January.

How are you feeling?: Certain meats still make me nauseous, but over all feeling a lot better. I still crash really easy but I feel like my energy is more consistent.
Rants/Raves: The one time I don't want to lose weight, I am. And I feel super guilty about that. I'm really trying hard to eat enough calories, and I know I gotta start adding on the weight now that I'm in the second trimester, I just feel super behind. I just want to be good enough for our lil girl and I feel like I'm already failing her. It's stupid but idk that's my rant this week. Raves, spending time with my best friend this weekend was great. But it's almost making me realize that I'm way ahead a lot of my friends now from high school and I do need to make more friends that are at the same stage in life as me.
Questions: Thoughts on used baby furniture. IDK i feel like it's a waste generally to buy a new crib when there are plenty on the market place. I'll get a new mattress, but if I can just refinish minor scrapes on a used crib and save $$$ that would be awesome. A lot of them are at least half price or less.
GTKY: What is your biggest/worst phobia (irrational fear)? Losing everything. I know it's not going to happen but it's definitely a fear.

How are you feeling?: Better, which in turn makes me nervous. I have more energy and my appetite is definitely coming back, so overall I cannot complain.
Rants/Raves: We've started telling more people, and everytime I say it's twins, the first thing everyone says is "wow! you don't even look like you're pregnant!" and I know they mean well, but it's one thing I'm super insecure about and then everytime I hear "you don't look pregnant" my mind jumps too "OMG WHAT IF I'M NO LONGER PREGNANT" It's a horrible cycle and it's started taking some of the joy out of announcing the news!
Questions: there's so many but I can never think of anything when I go to do these

@persnickity yay for first baby purchases! I bought a couple stuffed animals and a few NB outfits (watch me end up with a giant baby that won't fit into NB) but it was on sale and SO cute!
@marebear15 it'll be nice to visit with your sister, but sad she broke up with her bf. Breakups are so hard! At least she'll have you to lean on for a bit ❤
@stashattack I'm sorry you're losing weight. Is it just because you can't eat much? What does your doctor say? Unless you're losing rapidly it's probably not too concerning, your baby will take whatever she needs from you and you are definitely enough! Also, regarding furniture, the crib we picked out is a 4-in-1 so it grows with baby. From crib, to toddler bed, to kid bed and all the way to a full size bed. You do have to buy a separate conversion kit to make it a full size but it's cheaper than buying a whole new bed. So, I think furniture makers have really worked on making cribs not so wasteful.

How are you feeling? Mostly OK. Had some nausea yesterday. My boobs randomly hurt, I guess it's called "lightning boob" and I really don't like it.
Rants/Raves: not really anything this week. Except MH and I cannot agree on a boy name at all so it keeps getting tabled.
Questions: Anyone started thinking about nursery’s yet? Yes! I already have everything picked out for the most part, just haven't bought yet. I'm currently stuck on which wall vinyls to get, they're all so cute! We're doing a jungle theme with gray furniture. Also, yes, to a nursery thread!

As for weight it had/has to do with nausea and food aversion for sure. No, my Drs haven't said anything yet. But I have this app that they gave me to use weekly to enter in my blood pressure and weight and it's going consistently down. Even now that my appetite is up. I'll have to ask them at my next appointment about what I can do. And with a dairy allergy, it's really hard to find a safe protein powder that isn't cross-contaminated with whey protein, otherwise, I would totally be making myself protein shakes to help. Fingers crossed this week the numbers go up instead of down.
@krbrown15 that's good to know! We definitely do want a new car seat. IDK if I could ever trust a used one. Even from family LOL.

@amb0924 i don’t know how much longer I can hold out not knowing the sexes. I feel like I just need to know so we can start getting our lists together for names and getting the nursery started. I’m so impatient. To think I wanted to be team green at one point 🤦🏻♀️😆.

@marebear15 yeah I also keep getting surprised by how much further along I am than I think. It’s better than the first month that crawled by, but I still can’t believe how fast it’s going now.
@stashattack With a used crib I would be super cautious about what year it was made because safety standards have changed. Also research the model to make sure there aren’t any recalls (just saw this happen in a FB group I’m in) We got a new crib because we plan to use the same crib for every baby and it expands to a full size bed when we are done using it as a crib

Rants/Raves: I’m so sick of being stuck at home. HFMD is stupid. On the positive side I called the doctors office because that’s what google said but they said it’s not a virus they get concerned about. So that’s a huge relief

GTKY: What is your biggest/worst phobia (irrational fear)? I have a huge fear of failure which probably counts as an irrational fear? I’m also just generally risk averse 😂
@kbrown2385 Two years ago I got a long sleeve maternity dress from Old Navy (Online). It was nice on the budget but not bad either.
@persnickity My nipples are crazy sensitive too. I'm also trying to wean my 16 month old because its just painful at this point.
@marebear15 Time is super slow on my end most likely because I'm one of the few who doesn't like pregnancy. I just don't like how it makes me feel. Obviously doesn't stop me from having kids.
@stashattack nothing wrong with a used crib if your comfortable with it and it has all the pieces. It might have cosmetic issues (My child turned into a teething beaver so we have bit marks lol). There's no shame in used baby gear, tons of used stuff is in great condition! I will add that the only thing I'm against is a used carseat.

How are you feeling?: I'm feeling better but still exhausted. My heartburn is starting to ramp up so I'll be starting my zantac here soon.
Rants/Raves: I'm waiting patiently to feel some kicks. Once in a great while if I'm laying down I might feel what is considered "quickening or flutters" but then again maybe it's gas.

How old are you? I feel like I had my first baby earlier than some of my friend group and it was definitely harder to make friends as an adult. Play dates are my only way to socialize now
@peppyj9 - A jungle theme sounds super cute!
@MrsJessS - So glad that HFM isn't dangerous to a pregnancy! I was wondering about that but didn't want to worry you on top of everything.
@mispanda - I use the Ovia app for a lot of my comparisons. They have four categories to choose from like toys, cute animals, etc.
@schreibaby - I got a pregnancy pillow for my first, but didn't end up liking it. This time I'm just using two body pillows.
We just made some new friends moving here in the car community and I really like them! And they are a step ahead of us in life. their kids are either teens or grown. So I'll get all the advice from them which will be fun. And all of them are excited to have a baby at car shows and have already been like "we are going to totally steal her and walk her around so you all can take a break" which is awesome. I just need some friends in a similar spot in life as us. Pregnant or small kids haha! Though it does sound like I also have some built-in teen babysitters possibly if I need one which is cool to think about.

How are you feeling?: overall pretty good. Energy is better. Not what it was, but better. Only get nauseous randomly. Like apparently Baby does not like Apple nutrigrain bars. 🤷🏻♀️ I was nauseous for like an hour after I had one. Gassy/bloated. That’s super fun. But again, not terrible.
Rants/Raves: this is the same. I started really showing like a week or two ago. And I was super excited because it makes me feel like, I don’t know. Really pregnant. And I kinda like people being like ooh! A cute little bump! And my husband likes it too. Like hey it’s really happening! Our kid is in there!
Then this weekend someone was like, “wow! You are showing a lot! Like, a lot! And it’s so early!” 😒 So now I am paranoid that I am getting too big too fast. I don’t own a scale so I guess I’ll be weighing myself at the gym tomorrow and then calling the nurse! I know this person meant well and I am fine, but still.

GTKY: What is your biggest/worst phobia (irrational fear)? Hmm. I feel like most of my fears are relatively rational. I do tend to imagine worst case scenarios more often than is probably healthy. Like we’ll be going hiking (which we do all the time, I should be used to it) and I’m like, ok so if I fall and break my leg what would we do? If we get lost on this completely clear and easy to follow trail with lots of other people, what would we do?

@stashattack Definitely nothing wrong with buying a used crib as long as you check it out first of course. I’m thinking about going used or just less expensive. We spent waayy too much on dd’s furniture and just stuff in general.
@schreibaby I’ve been getting back pain, but very intermittently and not long enough to really bug me yet. I’m sure this is only the beginning and it’ll only get worse lol
@DalexRN I’m sort of showing, but not really? I have a small bump but it goes away when I lay down. I think a lot of it is bloat or other stuff getting pushed out lol At times I look pregnant and other times I look like I’m just putting on weight.

Rants/Raves: Work has been causing me some stress/anxiety. It’s the time of year my CEO just gets a little crazy.

GTKY: What is your biggest/worst phobia (irrational fear)? Similar to @stashattack, the fear of losing everything, but more so the fear of one day not being able to afford everything/bills which would lead to losing everything.

I'm majorly showing. I've gained 5 lbs, which feels like a lot, and at least a cup size for my bras and look like I'm much farther along, so people have been asking when the anatomy scan is, expecting it to be on a week or two. Some days it would be nice to show a little less.
The backs of my legs have been so itchy in the mornings. It's fine after I put lotion on after my shower and only itches in the morning. Anyone else have random itchy periods?

Upcoming Appointments: Today, actually. Porg is taking advantage of all the space moving nonstop with a HB of 155
How are you feeling?: SO...MUCH...BETTER. My chest isn't quite as sore, but my nipples are still super sensitive. Nausea comes and goes. I can do more for longer, but I crash HARD. Also starting to get a lot of pulling if I move too fast. My clothes don't fit anymore. And I weigh less than my pre-pregnant weight, so I know it's all baby related. This makes me happy.
Rants/Raves: My blood pressure, while still elevated, dropped 15pts from my MFM appt and stabilized so I'm off the high risk radar for NOW. I'm going on blood pressure meds as a precaution. I'll still probably end up going to the MFM weekly in the 3rd tri, and my OB confirmed I an unlikely to reach my due date. In the end, I don't care as long as baby and me are safe.

GTKY: What is your biggest/worst phobia (irrational fear)? Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter. I've known way too many people like her, and she just sets off my anxiety.
