@ktmaesim my career is engulfed with the apple/windows/Android war. It's never ending! My husband is also a apple guy because his whole life is tied into it where I have stayed to Android . It makes like fun when we have to deal with customer service, updates, product lock outs, ect. I will never go apple even for money.
Reaching my 30's this year and about to be a mother of three kids, I am over my age group and the alcohol fad you see everywhere. Shirts about wine and margaritas and booze at Target and pregnancy shirts, ECT. I have no problem with people drinking, I do on occasion but never to a drunk state. But I get annoyed trying to make new friends that still act and try to hang like they are 20. I'd rather have a group of girls go on a rock climbing date or something that isn't circled around alcohol because they are away from their kids for a few hours.
@lilyrheas It's honestly kind of sad seeing some of my older friends still drinking 24:7, mainly the single ones but still. I also hate the push for "hilarious" alcohol memes and jokes. Could not agree more! I come from a family that has few alcoholics, so I don't take the subject lightly....I don't think its cool to make it into casual jokes or quotes on shirts. It'll eventually trickle out of trend I hope.
@ktmaesim you typed the words before I could. I'm about to be 32, and I would say prob 1-2x a year I would overdo it and holy hell... it ain't fun after 25. the last awful hangover I had was around christmas and I was chugging pedialyte and in bed all saturday and sunday from friday night's imbibing.
@anniemarie887 yes my hangovers seriously would last 48 hours. I am terrified! I think my last really bad one was a trip we took in Aus with friends to a winery and we drank from prob 10am - 9pm. It got messy...
meanwhile in college I would drink until 4am and wake up for class at like 7 am...LOL.
I've had one glass of wine, I admit, since getting pregnant. It was at 18 weeks the night of my wedding day , while at dinner. I drank it with food over the course of approximately 90 minutes, so it hit my blood stream very slowly.
Honestly I really don't have much taste for alcohol any more though and just don't miss it. Having that one glass very slowly meant I was way more focused on the actual taste of the beverage.
I will likely still have a drink on special occasions after the baby, but I don't see me buying alcohol to keep at home or anything.
I have had android and apple products and don’t see how their differences make one any better than the other?
as for going out drinking, I don’t care for it, and I think too often leads to someone driving when they shouldn’t. I will admit, having friend over for drinks is fun, but I like it at my house. I have only had 1 hang over in my entire life and will never do that again, it was pure misery.
I HATE the daily facts. Also, how the F could a baby be the size of a banana?!?!?
@anniemarie887 I also think the 3D ultrasounds are kinda gross and felt weird posting mine in the ultrasound thread. TBH the tech kept saying things like “oh how cute!!” And I was just thinking, “yeah, let’s leave it in the oven 5 more months until it gets less creepy...”
@Stac928 I've lived here for almost 20 years. That's not unpopular. People who live here eat deep dish when family or friends from out of town want to try it-- or they REALLY need something heavy to soak up the booze. The right answer to what is Chicago style pizza is tavern style, cut in squares (see Vito and Nick's, Candlelite).
@midgerose86 Thats why if you are going to get a 3D ultrasound to wait until after 30 weeks- then they look more like a baby and less like a creepy alien.
My UO is I don't like it when people post their ultrasound on social media- I mean I guess do you if you want but I just feel weird people looking at the inside of my uterus lol
I can't stand the daily facts either on this app!!! None of them ever make any sense to the point where just stopped reading them and I go onto my "Pregnany+" app which is wayyyyy better and user friendly anyway! Plus the images on it are beautiful.
@Spartanrd4 yeah, I also feel like every ultrasound looks basically the same unless it’s like twins or something. I enjoy watching the monitor and seeing my own baby move, but even my own photos I don’t ever look at or use for anything other than announcing to our parents that we’re expecting.
@midgerose86 if your ob office just included it i guess why not, but i wouldn't pay extra! @Spartanrd4 i've always been like oh wow, that's your uterus, weird.
@bookworm492 yes! When friends or family world visit and want Chicago style pizza I would cringe. There is so much better food in Chicago. Why waste a meal lol
@Stac928@bookworm492 Originally from Chicago area. Deep dish is great, in moderate quantities. Agree that it's a once in a while thing. Personal favorites though, if I had to choose: Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinders, because it's more pot pie than deep dish, and some thin crust pepperoni from Aurelio's. My parents are moving to Baltimore in a couple months, and I'm not going to lie, I'm really sad I won't be getting my Aurelio's fix as frequently.
@anniemarie887 Truth! I like the crabcakes in Virginia Beach, but I LOVE the crabcakes around Baltimore. I will say though, we know how to do a legit she crab soup down here. We even have an annual festival. It's pretty amazing.
@bookworm492 It's good! Only complaints: the wait is usually long, and they only take cash. But I love it. Although I did hear from my mom that they just came under new management and are getting mixed reviews now because of that, so I'm not sure what that's about.
@anniemarie887 I have never had a half n half and am very intrigued and will be doing my best to consume one this weekend. My biggest craving has been crabs cakes/Maryland crab soup.
@rjgmcmanus We just moved to chi in November and we finally tried Aurellio's pizza and we were confused as to why everyone loves it ! lol it was not that good
What’s my UO for the week?....most movie theater popcorn is terrible. This is a little more of an allergy problem than an UO. I get a stomach ache and a headache almost immediately when I eat movie theater popcorn! I’m almost positive it has something to do with the oil they use. When I make mine at home, I use olive oil. That might be another good UO- I love olive oil on almost anything.
All you Chicago gals are lucky- I’m a California girl, and honestly, most of our foods come from somewhere else. We don’t have much CA traditional food. I guess our SF sourdough is traditional? Mexican food in Cali rocks (wonder why? Haha) and Indian food out here is also great. Lots of amazing Asian food choices! I think my UO is most diner food in California is pretty lousy- I think back east diner food is way better!

3D ultrasounds terrify me.

I love Chicago. Lived there for awhile. Love all kinds of things about it. I could never get on board with the pizza.
