@biolprof oh man! Going to the ER sounds like a nightmare, but so glad they made you feel better! Chug that water, girl!

@MrsJessS @amb0924 sorry about the nausea. Maybe it's just a first tri send off! Only 1 more week until you're officially 2nd tri! 🙌

  • @biolprof I’m sorry you had to go to the ER but am glad you’re feeling better!

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k You can see that one side is a little bigger than the other but that’s basically it. I can also feel the swelling/varicose vein when I press on it. It mostly just makes me feel thoroughly unsexy. Blah.
  • I have been playing the “is this gas or cramps or did I pull a muscle or what?” game the past few days. I mean, that’s been a game for awhile but I feel more, full? Stretched out? Uncomfy? I hit 13 w on Saturday.

Also, can deal with sore boobs in general but my nipples have been SO sensitive and painful  this week. I just ordered bras to sleep in.

But I am not queasy unless I don’t eat when I’m hungry, so life could be worse! And I have been feeling energized enough to get somewhat back into my
    morning gym routine.
  • @jcat1919 YES to the sore nipples.  Geeze it's bad.  My toddler loves morning snuggles in our bed but she comes in all crazy and moves around so much that I thought for sure she ripped off my nipple (through my shirt!) At least two times now.  I don't have any comfortable sleep bras right now.  I had old sleep nursing bras that were super comfortable and I wore them forever after I was done breastfeeding but they're so stretched out right now they'd literally provide zero help.  I just need to buy more probably.
  • @jcat1919 I totally feel stretched out now. I just hit 14w today. Some of it is still bloat but most of it isn't anymore.

  • This past week or 2 ive been getting spots round my chin, even as a teenager I didnt really ever get spots & its not fun 😕
  • Anyone having hairloss? I am currently 16w+3d and have had crazy hair loss the last few weeks. I have a lot of hair to begin with but the amount falling out with every brush or shower is alarming! Like huge handfuls! When I search for "hair loss and pregnancy" online I only find articles saying how your hair gets lovely and thick in pregnancy and falls out after birth. I had my ferritin levels checked and they were great (about 100). The only things that might contribute is that I did IVF (taking Pergoveris and Luveris meds) and then estrogen and progesterone supplementation for the first 12 weeks. Also my TSH value went up to 3.5 in the first weeks of pregnancy, so they put me on L-Thyroxin 25 which brought the TSH value down to about 1.25 pretty quickly and is staying there.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any ideas why this is happening or if it will stop?

Thanks in advance for your help!
  • @cantreme I haven't had any experience with hair loss personally. Actually my hair is thicker than normal but hormones can be weird so it's hard to say. If you are concerned, I would ask your physician.
  • Ya online I only find articles that say your hair gets thick and shiny in pregnancy. I mentioned it to my doctor but she just kind of shrugged it off.
  • @cantreme
I've been having a similar thing.  Not large chunks though, but definitely more than normal.
  • @cantreme - Can you get your doctor to check your thyroid? I know sometimes people with mild thyroid issues can really act up during pregnancy, and thyroid issues are definitely connected to hair loss.
  • @cantreme i would second what @marebear15 said about thyroid. my mum has alopecia which is due to a thyroid problem. My sister is also currently pregnant & has hashimotos & had some issues with hair loss. It was also one of the first things i got checked when i found out i was pregnant due to family history.
  • anyone else's nipples hurting now? I never had this before not even breastfeeding with DD. They are all tingly and I noticed over the weekend starting to crack/scabby. I have been putting the same balm/oil that I put on my stomach since week 11 but it looks like it's not enough.
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k 🙋 I've also had a little bit of milk leak out and a let down sensation. It's super weird this early.
  • OMG the headaches. I'll still take it over being nauseous 24/7 but ugh they are a pain.

    Mine have been super sore.
  • I cant remember when my boobs stopped being sore the last time but theyre still so tender when i take my bra off.
  • Are you guys starting to feel muscular pain around the bump when stretch certain ways/move too quickly/forget that you shouldn't use your abs to sit up anymore? Youch! I'm pretty stretched out already so it may just be me at this point. I'm not sure where 23 more weeks of growth is supposed to go...
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k mine are looking like I'm slightly leaking. They're not actually cracked, but the way there fluid is, it looks like it. If that makes any sense. And they're soooo sensitive. Although that seems to be getting better.
  • @marebear15 @leprechaunlady Hi, so my TSH value was normal before pregnancy (about 2) but after getting pregnant it went up to 3.5 so my doctor had me start taking L-Thyroxine 25 ug at about week 5. My TSH value then sank to about 1 - 1.5 and has stayed there since. I am not sure if these fluctuations could be the cause of this heavy shedding? It is definitely diffuse shedding all over my head (no bald patches or pattern) but it is very heavy still (I am 17+3 weekd today). Hoping it doesn't continue the whole pregnancy!

@cantreme hair loss from hypothyroidism can take a while to go away. But also I've read it's normal for some women to lose their hair. The bump just had a whole article on it.

  • @biolprof I wasn't really sure if I had hypothyroidism since a TSH value of 3.5 isn't super high. But maybe such a level really does affect hair. I will try to find that article, thanks!
