@perfectlove09 happy anniversary, how beautiful 💕 I love CO, want to live there someday!
It is so beautiful here! The sad thing is it’s becoming over populated and the housing market is sky high. We’ve been talking about moving and it’s just too hard to think about.

My random of the day : DS is acting out at daycare with his main educator so MH had a chat with her this morning since I have a doctors appointment. She feels like he’s probably jealous of the new kid in the group and I have a feeling we will be experiencing something very similar at home soon. He’s already acting more cheeky than usual and it’s challenging!
I’m not sure how to best prepare him since we will have a new home, new routine, potentially new daycare and new baby all within a very short period of time. It all feels very overwhelming at the moment.

I have similar thoughts on my mind. DD is super excited but its going to be very different once baby is here. It's kinda like how when we first had her. Preparing for baby is one thing, but when they actually arrive its completely different (at least it was for me).
@geminigirl16 and @cass005 I was actually just about to put this question into the question thread. I would have broken the rule since it's topical here, but it became a little too wordy so over to TGQT it goes.

At my ObGyn visit today the Dr was kind of concerned about the baby's size and the amount of amniotic fluid visible. Apparently an indication for GD is the ratio of baby's belly to amniotic fluid? Also I am HUGE around the belly. I mean that can be partly due to this being the third kid and everything is already so stretched out but damn. So even though my 1hr glucose test was fine, I get to go back on Friday for the 3hr one just to make sure. I definitely haven't been eating as well as I should have, so even if Friday's test is nothing more than a waste of time, I'm taking it as a warning shot and have resolved to get my food intake less junk food-y.
@grapeskittles4lyfe I’m assuming it was an ultrasound since they could tell how much amniotic fluid there is? I measured 29 weeks today using the tape measure and am 26w5d and she wasn’t concerned
@grapeskittles4lyfe hope everything is ok! Hopefully they'll just need to monitor and that's it.
@geminigirl16 That's tough. So much change at once. It might be rough for a little bit for your older one, but just remember, it's only temporary. He will get used to all the new changes.

Yep. My Dr does US every visit. She also said the fact baby was measuring one week ahead wasn't concerning per se, only in combination with the other findings. We'll see. I already heroically refrained from my late night snack today so that should put be back on track towards healthy habits already @alinic916@cooaladolly thanks for the good thoughts!
TW: complaining in spoiler about breasts, but it would sound super insensitive to someone who had trouble with breastfeeding.
My colostrum has been coming in for a couple of weeks now, and it is making my boobs so sore! Plus, they're just leaky enough to stick to my bra sometimes, and that really hurts my already-tender nipples. Add this colostrum swelling to being bigger with pregnancy and it's making my back really achy, too. I'm glad that my body's getting ready again, but it is uncomfortable!
Related but not in the TW, I am super glad I have a house with a big soaker tub, because a hot bath is the best cure for my back pain these days! (Not, too hot or too long for baby, though.)
@cmbt2 do you mean like the Lasinoh ones for leaking while nursing, or is this a separate support pad? I think I'm out of the nursing ones, but could easily get more!

Yes or reusable ones like the others mentioned. I found I preferred the reusable as well when I was pregnant last time
@steminist (and anyone else) When baby is here and you are BFing I highly recommend the Milkies Milk Saver! Instead of letting the letdown on the non-nursed side go to waste into a breast pad, the Milk Saver will collect the letdown so you can accumulate and freeze it.

I loved my haakaa so much last time. 10/10 would recommend. I'm a SAHM so I was actually able to collect enough from just the haakaa that I never needed to pump for outings. Which blew my mind because I didn't struggle with oversupply.
@ineedsixeggs Did you just use the haakaa on one side when you were nursing on the other side? I’m a SAHM too and pretty much only pumped for my husband to do an early morning feed so I could sleep and for anytime we’d leave DS with my mom
I was lurking over on the Sept babies group. Weird questions but is there a special protocol to just jumping into discussions? I don't want to just start contributing so I figured I would post in the intro thread first...just wanted to make sure I'm not missing some unwritten bump rules for lurking.
@Cass005 not really, but some boards tend to be less welcoming as time goes on. I think here in O19, anyone asking or commenting anything in the questions, Randoms, or specific topic threads would be totally welcomed, or at worst ignored. It's when "lurkers" make a whole new thread for something small or already covered that the snark turns up.
I no longer can remember where I originally posted this. I finally got my blood draws back after the boys’ foray into Fifth Disease. I am NOT immune to Fifth so it is a good thing I stayed away from the kids while DS1 was potentially contagious (but we didn’t know until after DS2 was already not contagious anymore). As of right now my blood work shows I do not have an active infection but I will have to be retested in a few weeks.
@quidditchcapn1120 Glad to hear it! I hope your retest also comes back clear.
Today's random thought: packing for 10 days in a Floridian July is way easier than 10 days in a Canadian June. Temps are more reliable, so I don't need two wardrobes, and the clothes fold smaller!
@quidditchcapn1120 I was wondering what happened with that. I'm glad you were extra cautious and hopefully you did not pick it up!
🤞🏻🤞🏻 I am honestly shocked because I’ve worked solely with kids usually aged 2-10 for the past 7 years. I cannot believe I haven’t gotten it previously so that I have immunity (around 70% of the population/60% of childbearing age women already have immunity).

Remind me how old your DD is?

I'd try a reusable one, they're comfier and softer and may help with the swelling some!!
