Congrats @Panaceia ! I'm actually nervous about the volume of laboring women when I go to the hospital! June/July seem like popular times to have babies!
While at work today I had to write 7/1/19, had a mini panic attack that it's July already! Now that we are at the end it seems like it has gone so fast!
Yeah! It's gone by so fast. I'm really glad to have made it until July. My babes run small and early and I always want those last few weeks for them to plump up.
Hi! Finally popping in to say I’m here! LO arrived on Saturday and I want to type up my full birth story and really give the details I always enjoyed reading proper attention. Short is we are home and doing well but still trying to get stuff done at home since we thought we had more time.
@cbeanz When is your last day at work? Now that you have child care are you feeling more antsy to have baby make their appearance?
Good news! We met with the sibling doulas yesterday and they were amazing AND have decided to work with us. I'm so relieved, plus they already know my midwives which makes it feel like one big happy family supporting us through this whole journey.
I'm so relaxed now that childcare is here I'm afraid baby will stay put for 2 more weeks hahahaha! It's probably nice in there now that the cortisol levels are low again.
@mamanbebe great news on the doulas!!! YAYAYAYAY!!!!
@cbeanz Hooray for today being your last day! I wish there was some way to coax babies out, like I realize it's pretty cushy and nice in there but if you come out you get all the snuggles and better food!
@cbeanz Eating dates, keeping up moving around and nightly acupressure are my current at-home things + weekly acupuncture. Adding in dry pumping for nipple stim and awkward third tri sex. Future possibilities include a membrane sweep and maybe even castor oil as a last ditch effort
@cbeanz Ewwww. My midwives have warned me that I could just end up with a really magical case of diarrhea and no baby, which sounds awesome. What happened when you drank it?
Lolol!!!!! It didn't do anything labor-related for me. But I had been sooo terribly constipated that I pooped but it didn't go full fledged diarrhea. I wonder if maybe I didn't take enough but I'm too chicken to try more. Plus the taste made me gag so badly I don't think I could do it again.
I just read up and ppl say to drink 2-3oz and you can mix it with another beverage but it will still taste terrible haha. Seems like that’s s recipe for vomiting.
Ppl also say to try 39 weeks + I imagine because your body is more likely to be ready to go?
Had a couple friends swear by eggplant Parmesan.... ate it on Sunday had a baby by Tuesday. Also I got a fancy pedicure on the Monday as well because there are pressure points on your feet to help labor start 🙃
Had our two week dr check up on little man and he’s 7 lbs! Up 9oz from his birth weight. I’ve already fought through some early mastitis and tried to give up BFIng but that gave me a push to keep going.
@motherofdogs yay! I’m gonna have to eat some when’s i’m ready to birth this little one! Congrats!
@blackhottamales congrats! I love reading everyone’s stories right now while I wait. Can’t wait to hear yours!
@Cbeanz I’d stay away from castor oil since it can make baby release their first poo and become dangerous for them. Witches brews that contain castor oil have been a strict no-no according to my doctor and doulas. dates have softened my cervix and red raspberry leaf tea helps fortify your uterus for contractions. I feel the effects of the tea about 2-3 hours after I drink it every day. And for getting baby to descend, a birthing ball and exercises is supposed to help.
Also, if you’ve been constipated and are still feeling it, a saline enema is safe and effective within just minutes to clear out your system. I haven’t had constipation until now and nothing worked because I was bound up but now with that and a probiotic plus colace stool softener, I’m back on track.
Congrats @hinotes !!! Such a surprise to go into labor 2+ weeks early! Good thing you had the car seat installed! We didn't have ours installed with our first and it took forever for Hubs to figure it out in the hospital parking lot HAHA
So my cousin and I had due dates 3 days apart, both FTMs. My due date is 3 days before hers, but... She had her baby yesterday! I was/am irrationally upset. #hormones I guess 🤷
That’s so exciting to hear the babes are starting to be born! It’s encouraging but also depressing as I watch my due date show up today and slowly slip past my eyes lol day by day I guess!
Thank you @Cbeanz! It was crazy fast. I'm so glad I ended up being induced and didn't go into labor on my own. I'm afraid I wouldn't have made it to the hospital!
Wife. Boy mom x6. Expecting #7. Wannabe homesteader. , 💙💙💙💙💙💙
@acgx oh the hormones. You’ll be holding your bundle of joy soon though and it’ll all seem like fodder.
@nagrom9319 I’m due in 3 weeks and all the squishes still have me both sad I’m not holding my baby and encouraged that it’s birthing season too lol.
Thanks @Cbeanz I didn't realize they could close a maternity ward. The few days we were there were crazy. I'm glad I didn't have any complications since the nurses on the floor were run ragged. If everyone hadn't been asking for epidurals then my surgery likely wouldn't have been pushed back so much...but they had to wait for the anesthesiologist to be able to fit me in. I didn't realize how busy the summer months could be!
Nikola is 9 days old today already! She is eating and sleeping like a champ and is such a chill little thing. Yesterday she pooped all over me and the bathroom floor mat when I was putting her in the bath. I gave her to SO when I took her out so I could change and not get poop all over her and her towel. Of course within 10 seconds SO was yelling for me and chasing me upstairs because she peed and spit up all over him. I asked why he didn't clean her up and put a diaper on her. He looked like a deer caught in the headlights. You wouldn't know this is his second child. Of course I did everything for DD1 so I'm not surprised he is so clueless. At least he's amazing with DD1 and can keep her entertained while I worry about baby.
Congratulations @nolemomma14 ! Sounds like a simple and fast induction! So happy for you and glad you were able to have your family in during the birth!!!
LO didn’t poop yesterday. He Is peeing so I’m not worried about dehydration but I think we are going to up the supplementing. We have a Lactation consultation on Monday-but making sure this LO is healthy is sure stressful. Pretty sure my milk hasn’t come in yet so all I’m doing is nursing, skin to skin and pumping.
@blackhottamales I wouldn't worry too much, often formula can slow digestion a little and cause constipation at first (I had to supplement from the start). You can try newborn probiotic drops or even a probiotic formula to see if that eases up their tum a bit, I recall Gerber's probiotic drop is called Gerber Soothe, but there are probably a ton out there now. Sometimes a different formula does the trick too. Good luck!
I'm so in love with all these birth announcements and I'm grateful everyone is doing well so far from the sounds of it! Can't wait for more babies to arrive! Congratulations to everyone whose LO is here already 🎉
Re: July Randoms
Filled out my hospital registration and printed my birth plan this morning. Now I'm just waiting until the holiday weekend!
Good news! We met with the sibling doulas yesterday and they were amazing AND have decided to work with us. I'm so relieved, plus they already know my midwives which makes it feel like one big happy family supporting us through this whole journey.

@Cbeanz I’m glad your mom is there now, but hopefully LO doesn’t make you wait too long!!
I may try some extra spicy food this weekend and as long of a walk as my pelvis can handle (weird pains in weird places lately)
Ppl also say to try 39 weeks + I imagine because your body is more likely to be ready to go?

it is is the best thing ever for these postpartum poops! I was honestly scared because people said pooping was the worst.
Congrats @mamahmh2 !!
So exciting to see these beautiful babies!
