Re: Weekly Check-ins Group 3&4 (Jan 17-31) w/o 7/1

  • @blackcat01 omg I have been sniffing my DH's beers recently and they have been smelling divine. It also didn't help that I cooked with one the other night for sour kraut and corned beef. I was dying to finish the yuengling I opened LOL.

But definitely could kill for a roll too. It's so bad. I feel like that's the only meat that I don't have an aversion to right now HAHA.

  • @stashattack Haha that’s great. I’m sort of glad to have an aversion to the smell of alcoholic drinks because I can’t drink them anyway. My husband was making some red wine sauce and I couldn’t stand the smell of it.

I hear ya on the meat! Can’t stand it unless it’s saucy or mixed in with rice, beans, and cheese or the like lol Sushi of course is another exception!
  • Yes!! Soup or pasta sauce is like the only way I can eat meat right now. It's driving me nuts. Last night I didn't eat the dinner I cooked for DH. I ate dairy free cheesy rice because that's all I could stomach. LOL

  • @biolprof that was so sweet of your mom!  I put some maternity shorts on the other day since they were the only clean ones on hand and they were pretty darn comfy.
@peppyj9 no weight loss here just gaining and an incredibly fast rate.  I have friends that lost weight (not on purpose).  Sometimes the body does weird stuff.
@justsuzie two girls here and we wont be finding out but i'm already assuming another girl lol.

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: Jan 24th, 10+4

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): I think it was a prune

Upcoming Appointments: I have a routine 14 week appointment July 25th

How are you feeling?: Not bad.  Tired and the nausea comes and goes.

Rants/Raves:  Our house was built in 1950 and the last couple weeks we have been dealing with plumbing issues.  I'm ready to move.

    Questions:  Nope

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food?  Oh gosh this is hard right now since food isn't as appealing right now.  I'll get back to you in a few weeks.  However I use to really enjoy baked goods.
  • @bosslady925 I'm from Texas!
@peppyj9 I have been losing weight recently too instead of gaining. I think I did the same with my first pregnancy and didn't really start gaining until around the 14 week mark.
  • @stashattack keeping the secret is so hard! With DS we didn’t announce until 16+ weeks and it was so difficult

@katieroz my skin has been awful too! My scalp especially has been getting either super dry or super oily. It’s so much fun 🤦🏻‍♀️

@mrs_llama I’m sure the construction will be worth it in the long run but that sounds absolutely awful to be living through

@biolprof maternity clothes are the best thing ever. I’ve been wearing my maternity shorts a lot more frequently recently. It’s just so much more comfortable

@peppyj9 I lost 5 lbs and I’ve been struggling to gain them back. I actually just weighed myself and I’m only 1 lb down. My understanding is that your body is working so much harder to grow the baby...so combining that with healthier eating I would guess it makes sense. If you are concerned about it you could maybe leave a message for your doctor to ask their thoughts?

@bosslady925 I’m from WA, spent 8 years in NC and it’s my fav, currently in TX

@beep126 noodles are so good! I could eat some kind of noodle probably every day lol

@ang3lbb hope your appointment goes well! I’m impressed you hadn’t cried yet. I think I cry on a daily basis about one thing or another lol

@justsuzie yes! I have been living on bagels the last couple weeks

@blackcat01 I like to think it’s all about balance. I eat a lot of garbage, but I get some healthy stuff in there when I find something that sounds good. And I just roll with it. Maybe not the most scientific approach, but I firmly believe that when you are pregnant you need to give yourself a whole lotta grace
  • @MrsJessS I would probably die if I waited that long. Or blurt it out. Even just telling our parents and the godparents and my one online friend that is 2 days ahead of me is not enough. Especially since her and I work on the curly group mod team together and she keeps asking me when Imma tell everyone because we both have almost slipped in our group chat a couple of times about my pregnancy since everyone knew about hers in the chat when her stripped turned pink cuz she wanted help looking at the lines LOL.

  • @stashattack Hahahahaha fair. This time around I’ve told pretty much everyone I see in real life already, partially because it has wiped me out and something is obviously different. Last time I was having insurance shenanigans so we didn’t go to the Dr until 16 or so weeks. We announced as soon as we had the first appointment/saw baby
  • @MrsJessS & @stashattack with my first we waited until like 24 weeks to tell anyone!! I'm not sure when we will announce this time.

  • @MrsJessS Thanks, yes I also agree about giving yourself more grace, but of course within reason. My issue is that I feel I’m taking advantage of my food grace period lol I’m starting to be able to tolerate for veggies, and hope soon I can be mostly healthy with room for my cravings too!

@stashattack I’m soo glad I’m not alone on that one!!
  • @blackcat01 definitely not alone. I definitely can’t wait too much longer for my own sanity. And then we have a wedding late August with family that I usually get pretty sauced with. Sooo definitely it’s gotta come out before then 🤣

  • @biolprof My doctor said claritin or zyrtec were ok for me to take along with tylenol brands. Even with those I'm struggling. Thank you!
  • @stashattack @kbrown2385 My other bmb was so much more interactive.  I know peeps are busy but I guess I think it's more important having a conversation and responding to others rather than posting about yourself.  Maybe it's just me.  Also, someone in my mom facebook group said I was acting bitchy probs because of all of my pregnancy hormones....yep, she went there.

@blackcat3163  I wasn't talking about anyone in specific because this is the first combined due date thread.  I just noticed in the past 3 weeks in my weekly check-ins the same people post and ghost every week and not even a love tit.  Maybe I've got too much time on my hands...teacher, summer vacay.

@fishakris My eyes are on fire.  Allergies have got me bad. Last pregnancy I had none.  I was hoping for that again with no luck.

@peppyj9 I tried to eat healthy today....I made it until 4pm and then had some chips.  Summer is killer because my schedule is so off.

@biolprof . Did you hear of any good prime deals yet?  So far nothing seems good.

Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: January 26th 2020 Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out Baby is the size of a(n): Strawberry Upcoming Appointments: just had a 10w ultrasound today and 12w ob appointment in two weeks. How are you feeling?: exhausted, mornings are extremely rough to get through, the bloating and gas is out of control, and I think I just started having rlp. Rants/Raves: I’m just so ready to be in the second trimester. I’ve had so much anxiety with getting through these first 10 weeks and I’m really ready to just start enjoying pregnancy. Any little feeling that’s new to my body makes me completely freak out. Questions: Anyone who has had rlp before can explain how they feel? Is it like sharp stabbing pains in your abdomen? GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? Anything with carbs. Anything made from potatoes. I could seriously have French fries and mashed potatoes as a meal.
  • @justsuzie I'm making DH look since that is his jam. I've been busy teaching a 4 week summer course and registering first years.... What's summer again? I really should get to the shopping though.

I know I've heard many say that this board isn't as interactive but I at least like the people that post so that's nice. Honestly have nothing to compare to.

    @sro18 mmmm potatoes!
  • @sro18 rlp for me is sharp quick pains in the abdomen, usually when I sneeze or turn the wrong way.
  • @justsuzie idk when you were due last time but it could be that it’s just summer. As a rule social media sites tend to be quieter in the summer because of all the activities people have going on and vacations. Maybe it’ll pic up in a couple of months!

  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k I agree! I’m happy we are organized and pretty interactive here! A couple of the other bmbs make me crazy when I lurk.

I think a lot of it being slow has to do with people just not knowing that’s how this site works. A lot of
other forums don’t have the community style that TB has. I’m sure it will pick up as we go along.
  • @biolprof I’m tracing summer school too but mine is a piece of cake. It’s art classes.

Im happy the bird is organized. I was in May 2018 last time around. I didn’t even think about summer. I guess I’m just used to knowing more about peeps. Some one the best people I know I met from my last bmb. I’m impatient and an instant gratification kind of girl. Also, everyone who responded to my comment are people that regularly comment. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤪

  • @justsuzie i get the wanting to have the same experience this time round as last, the F17 girls are a great group & once we filtered out a few nasty bitches when the babies were around a year old & we were in the fb group, its such a supportive & comfortable place for all of us. they were the first ones i told i was pregnant again, after my husband & also with the twin news too.
I want to say we'll get there for this group too, it's just still very early days for us!

  • @leprechaunlady I think a big problem I’m having that’s keeping me from posting as much this time is the glitchiness. Long threads just don’t load very well for me and that slows me down a bit, but this board seems like great, friendly people so I want to keep trying.

Also on F17 we had quite a bit of drama that coalesced the group. No drama boards are more appealing to me now though and I’m glad this seems to be one :)
  • Back after a long absence from TB. Vacation and then was visiting family for a few weeks. Here goes-

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 1/17/20 11w5d

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out- took the bloodwork test Monday so should know next week! Hoping to be team pink

Baby is the size of a(n): lime

Upcoming Appointments: NT test next Monday

How are you feeling?: good. Drowsy and starting to get some round ligament pain but nothing too bad.

Rants/Raves: have been on summer vacation (I’m a teacher) and really appreciating not working. I will teach 3 weeks of art camp starting 7/15 and not looking forward to it

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? Japanese and really almost any type of Asian

@justsuzie I had a great experience in May 2016 too, but it didn't happen overnight. Some of us are only in our 9th week. I also understand that first trimester is rough for people with the symptoms and the risk for MC, so I tend to allow room for grace ♥️

I forgot who asked this because I just read 36 comments and all 3 of my kids had stomach viruses this week (so much fun), but I'm from West Palm Beach, FL, currently in Singapore hating my life. Seriously guys, I know it's popular right now, but don't waste your tourist money on this authoritarian democracy. 👎🏾

ETA for spelling and then AGAIN to let you know I edited lol
