Re: Weekly Check-ins Group 3&4 (Jan 17-31) w/o 7/1

  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 1/22, 10 weeks 5 days

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): Golden snitch

Upcoming Appointments: NIPT bloodwork on Wednesday, mfm consult on Friday

How are you feeling?: TIRED. The insomnia has really kicked in. I was up from 2am until around 5am because I couldn’t get comfortable so I guess I’m ordering a pillow today. Other than that I’ve had some pelvis pain. I was sitting with my ankle across my knee yesterday. When I put it down and got up to walk it was very uncomfortable.

Rants/Raves: We had a great weekend. The lavender festival was so fun. We also celebrated ds’ bday yesterday (it’s today) and had a blast. He had a friend over so it was low key, but he loved every second of it.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? Korean. I only ever eat it when I see my friend I’ve known since kindergarten and it’s been too long. It’s so delicious. Her mom is Korean and makes the best food!

    Rants/Raves: None

    Questions: None

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? My favorite food is baked Mac and cheese. My favorite type of food is Italian or Indian. Italian... I'm currently living in SE Asia sooooo I've had my fill of indian food right now lol
  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days:  Jan 20th/11w

Baby is the size of a(n):  lime

Upcoming Appointments:  Tomorrow!  I have almost made to my first appt/ultrasound!

How are you feeling?:  Less nauseated than before.  Tired.  Terrified about the appt tomorrow, but I just want to get it over with.

Rants/Raves:  H came home from a work trip this weekend.   Life is so much better when he is home!

    Questions: none

  • @mollysm so exciting your appt is finally here!

@mslan glad you’re not as nauseous. I’m sure you’ll get back to the gym eventually. It’s so hard in the first trimester.
  • @kbrown2385 that sounds like a great weekend!

@MsIan baked Mac and cheese sounds so good!

@MollySm hooray for you’re appointment tomorrow. FX everything goes perfectly

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 1/23, 10+4

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): LEGO (wo)man

    Upcoming Appointments: nothing until August

How are you feeling?: better? Better-ish? I don’t want to jinx it. I’m still fatigued all the time, but I can most or less function now. And the nausea is a lot more manageable

Rants/Raves: we had a fun weekend and MH is actually off today too. He’s on a weird schedule for the week so I’m all discombobulated. He should have had a four day weekend for the 4th of July but that didn’t happen. So that’s a bummer but I’ll take the schedule we have without complaining too much.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? Carbs. All the carbs
  • @MollySm yaya for your appointment tomorrow!! I can't wait to hear the update.

@MsIan I haven't made it to the gym most of this first trimester. My nausea has just made it impossible to work out. I'm hoping it gets better in the upcoming weeks.

@MrsJessS I'm with you on all the carbs!! HAHA

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 1/17 11+4

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Team finding out (team pink for me team blue for hubby :P )

Baby is the size of a(n): Lime

Upcoming Appointments: July 22nd. It was supposed to be tomorrow and then Drama Llama happened and I didn't want to deal with that practice so I said eff it and scheduled a different appointment (within the same system at a different location). Though that's the earliest they could see me. Woof. And it still looks like they canceled my august appointment so I'll have to call about that. But then 20 weeks ultrasound is september 4th!

How are you feeling?: Nausea is making one final stand I feel like. I'm so over it. I haven't been as tired recently though since that's good. Just many nauseous and snippy

Rants/Raves: Raves, all the parents know and the godparents know and said yes!! Now since our appointment is pushed back I gotta see when my husband is comfortable with announcing. I honestly don't want to wait much longer than 13 weeks. I'm tired of hiding it at this point.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? Sushi. And I miss it dearly. I swear first thing I'm getting after baby is born is like 3 spicy scallop rolls.

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): soda can tab?

Upcoming Appointments: had first US on Friday, next appt is 7/22

How are you feeling?: Better, too - still so much food aversion but nausea seems to be lightening up. So, so tired.

Rants/Raves: Skin weirdness continues. In addition to acne flaring up, I now have a weird dry patch on my cheek :-1:

    Questions: None right now

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? I can’t even think about that question right now but I’ve been craving smoothies and fruit!
  • @kbrown2385 Lavender festival! That sounds amazing. I'm the direct of sales at a hotel, and in evenings around peak check in time we roll out lavender cart so people can make their own lavender sachets to place under their pillows for relaxation, and they can bring them home.

@MsIan mmmm baked mac and cheese. I need this in my life soon.

@stashattack Sorry for your appointment drama!.. but I love how you said Drama Llama. Our last name is Lamattina (Llama-tina) so we have llama references everywhere. For our announcement photo we have a little onesie that says Baby Llama, and we are wearing shirts that say Papa and Mama Llama.

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: Jan 29 / 9w5d

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Team finding out. Blood test tomorrow!! I’m going to a place outside of my doctor’s office and a phlebotomist does the blood test and sends it in. I should have the results within 5-7 days EEEEEEK!

Baby is the size of a: Cherry

Upcoming Appointments: Blood test tomorrow, 12 week ultrasound and genetic testing on 7/18

How are you feeling?: I started getting nauseous week 7 and it seems to be a little less now, but definitely still lingering. Fatigue, constipation, and sore bb's. I’ve been a little extra sensitive lately, too.

Rants/Raves: We’ve been doing some construction in our house to get ready for baby and to increase the functionality of our living spaces. We added some projects to the list as we went, and the contractor has been there for 2 weeks now. The first floor is unusable right now when it comes to relaxing or cooking. The crew is working odd hours because they work another job during the day…. So 5pm until 11:30pm they are working downstairs and we are trapped in our room. I ate dinner in bed a few times last week lol. I just want my house back. I’m really tired!
I’m trying not to be ungrateful because the house will look really beautiful after. I am just a crabby patty.

    Questions: None at the time.

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food?   I really love pizza. And pho. And fried seafood.

  • @mrs_llama that's freaking adorable!! I love that!! <3

  • @biolprof it's more complicated than that. Penn has a bunch of satellites and the one that I was going to go to tomorrow mainly takes care of medicare people. Which is fine, but no one told me that when I booked the appointment. Until I went in to the MFM ultrasound, which again is a different office. They told me there to book at the other satellite that really caters to those with private insurance and have better wait times, etc. So I  called that one to book my second appointment there because they said I could transfer if they couldn't see me sooner than early june. Then I get a call friday from the first place demanding that I choose between the two and once I made a decision they would be so kind to cancel the appointment at the place I didn't choose. And the only explination they gave me is "We are the same, but different." and were super rude on the phone. So I decided to just go with the other place because I don't need receptionists copping attitudes like that with me when it's all the same system, same charts, same everything, except locations are different. I'm going to see if I can get squeezed in earlier but we shall see.

  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 10+2/January 25th, but I'm thinking we'll do a RCS for Jan 10/11, hope I can still go here!

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: We really were planning to be team green, but think we might find out. I'd love another girl, DH would love either, but I know he is hoping it's a boy.

Baby is the size of a(n): Lime it looks like

Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday, not sure if I'll get an ultrasound so FX my OB can pick something up with the doppler.

How are you feeling?: OK most of the time. Tired and I also gag uncontrollably and dry heave if I smell anything remotely gross -- public bathrooms, cat litter box, my DD's poop (pewp as she says) diapers. Ugh, it's awful.

Rants/Raves: I'm feeling very large everywhere, which I do not like feeling. I posted in the randoms about it, so sorry for the repeat. I think it's because I'd finally been feeling comfortable in my body again after losing my first baby weight (over 2 years!), and then this pregnancy was a surprise (but very, very welcomed!). So just a mind game. I need to start making healthier choices like I usually do instead of whatever is easiest/most convenient.

Questions: Where's everyone from? I know most posted in the intro thread, but it's so large. I'm from Virginia.

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? I like all food. My favorite is definitely Mexican.

Upcoming Appointments: Just had my dating scan on Friday of last week and my next office visit is in two weeks!

How are you feeling?: Exhausted. I need ALL the naps!!

Rants/Raves: We told our parents over the weekend. I was enjoying the news being our little secret, but I knw their feelings would have been hurt if we waited too much longer.

    Questions: none.

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? I love all noodles! Italian noodles, Asian noodles; I've never met a noodle I didn't like.
  • @bosslady925 I’m in VA! Hampton Roads area, dh is military. Also, we can do a gtky of where everyone is from if you want!
  • @beep126 I love noodles, too! I need to have pho tonight.

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): tater tot - how cute!

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow!! first appointment & I'm so nervous. I get overwhelmed easily so I'm just hoping for good news. Idk what to expect.

How are you feeling?: on/off nausea, tired, & major food aversions. Also feel bloated a lot and food still tastes off. I can't go long without sitting down.

Rants/Raves: I've been in a really happy mood since getting pregnant, but I finally broke down & cried last night because of all the changes that are/ will be happening.

Questions: answering @bosslady925 I'm from Anaheim Ca

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? i love all fries
  • @bosslady925 I'm from New Mexico but currently live in WA.
  • Same due date! ☺️
  • @justsuzie yeah I do plan on getting some veggie rolls and my hubby has promised me cooked spicy tuna rolls. But it's definitely not the same LOL

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out!

Baby is the size of a(n): chocolate truffle

Upcoming Appointments: Not until July 24 for just a check up and ultrasound. Also Sep. 7 for an anatomy scan.

How are you feeling?: The nausea is getting better. I’m always hungry and just want to eat everything that’s bad for you. I’m struggling with eating a balanced diet, but hope soon it will get better. I’ve also started to get ligament pains, especially if I get up too fast.

Rants/Raves: We are selling our house, and it is supposed to close on the 3rd. Now it’s being pushed back a few days and I needed it to sell to pay rent! Grrrr lol

Questions: Should I stop beating myself up for not eating as well as I’d like?

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food? I LOVE Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and Japanese foods the best. I seriously can’t choose which is my favorite, depends on my mood!
  • I’ll be the resident bitch....I wonder if the people who post solely about themselves without ever responding to other comments even read any of the aforementioned comments. I’ve always wondered about this. And if I’m right and they don’t read any other comments they are probably not reading this either 🤷🏼‍♀️ Gotta give support to receive it. Just saying.
  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 1/23 10w4d

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: I actually know because we had genetic testing on our embryos.  Team Blue.

Baby is the size of a(n): umm, raspberry?

Upcoming Appointments: July 16th. Hopefully an ultrasound so we can see the peanut again.

How are you feeling?: lower back is pretty uncomfortable

Rants/Raves: my allergies are insane.  My eyes, ears, and sinuses are so itchy.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite type of food?
Probably Mexican.  You can americanize it or go authentic, it's all delicious to me.

  • @blackcat01 I get the ligament pains when I roll over at night. It's crazy.
  • @fishakris I never got it this early with my first! I’m doubtful but also hoping it gets better for us!
  • @peppyj9 I'm also down a bit of weight over the past few months.  I'm a little chubby to start. In my first pregnancy I gained about 15 lbs or so. I really tried to watch my weight due to my blood pressure.
  • @justsuzie not sure if you are referring to me since I just posted, but I figured I’d do my response and then in a separate post respond to things I feel I can contribute to! My 4 year old needed some love, so I’m finally able to get back on! I also have a dead car in my driveway, turns out part of the battery is melted? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I hope you get yours running soon, that sucks!

@kbrown2385 funny that you mentioned going to a lavender festival because I really wanted to go to one near me, but was busy that weekend! Although I’m not sure if I’d be able to handle too much lavender smelling stuff anyway!

@MrsJessS your favorite food answer seriously made me laugh! Carbs are amazing!!

@stashattack I seriously feel your pain on sushi. I love the stuff! Of course I’ve been craving it bad lately! Hopefully you can get your appointment moved sooner, it’s soo hard to wait and even harder to wait on sharing the news to everyone.

@katieroz The skin stuff makes no sense to me. I’ve had a couple of random dots show up on my face but haven’t experienced a random dry patch.

@biolprof that’s SO sweet of your mom! Glad you have some new comfy clothes!

@peppyj9 I am definitely not losing weight. I could work on my diet (not that I’m gaining a lot or anything), but nothing sounds good and all I want is carby foods. Could you maybe eat more of healthy but caloric foods, like nuts?

    @bosslady925 I’m from California!
  • @justsuzie I assume it's just because people are busy. It happens! Also sorry about the car. That is very frustrating!

    @bosslady925 I'm in Oregon!

I can't help but notice how many people went from team green to finding out in a few weeks. It's so hard not to know. I'm trying really hard not to cave but watching everyone find out definitely makes it tough. Good thing we aren't doing NIPT otherwise the temptation would be way too strong!
  • @justsuzie I'm super shy sorry. but i do read everything! & learn from everyone.
  • @justsuzie that makes me feel better. I definitely have weight to spare. I'm like "the baby can live off my reserves!" I'll see what OB has to say next week. Sorry about your car. Excuse to trade it in for a new one? 😉 also, I notice too when people don't really participate but just post, but I like to think they'll catch up soon enough.

@blackcat01 selling a house is hard. The process always seems to drag! Also, I'm definitely eating healthy fats like nuts and avocados. But I notice I get fuller more quickly because my food is more nutrient dense and naturally just lower in calories. I'm not wasting away or anything lol, just always heard you're supposed to gain in pregnancy, but it's probably different for plus size women 🤷‍♀️

@fishakris glad I'm not the only one! Also, allergy season is the worst! And I don't think we're supposed to take anything for it while pregnant. Hope you feel better!
  • @peppyj9 That’s good that you are eating very healthy. If you’ve changed your eating habit since getting pregnant, maybe your body is just adjusting to it and will eventually maintain/increase. I’m sure as long as you’re getting enough nutrients you will be fine!
  • @blackcat01 @ang3lbb  I’m pretty sure @justsuzie is referring to the one off posters who post a random question and never return.

@justsuzie I am also a bitch and make sure to respond to each one to make sure they know they are in the wrong. Sometimes I get told I’m a bitch for calling them out 🤣. Don’t care, read the rules. I have zero patience for that.

@ang3lbb good luck at your appt today!

@biolprof I haven’t been taking unisom. I try to stay away from that stuff. When I take benadryl I’m wiped out for 2 days, I’m nervous I’ll have a similar reaction. I realize they are different meds but I’m a crazy person so I’ll suffer and hope the pillow helps.
  • @kbrown2385 and @justsuzie  I've had to watch my sassiness in the curly facebook group I mod. The littlest things have been setting me off recently in there and I just want to shake the members for the idiot stuff they're posting!! I'm just glad I'm a part of a team so I just take my sassiness to the group chat we have going and we can all talk each other down before we turn too bitchy lol. But I have recently shut down threads and muted people for a few days so they couldn't post or comment because of how angry they made me :P

@blackcat01 omg I've been craving it a lot too. I think I'm beginning to miss sushi a smidge (just a tiny smidge) over wine. LOL

  • @peppyj9 and @fishkaris there are actually lots of pregnancy safe allergy meds. Talk to your doc if you are unsure but you shouldn't have to just suffer lol
  • @stashattack Oh I definitely miss it wayyy more than wine! Mostly because I can’t stand the smell of wine right now. But I’d kill for a roll right now!!
  • @kbrown2385 one of my favorite restaurants is in Hampton, and I've been trying to figure out an excuse to be out that way to grab lunch one day. If you like seafood, definitely try The Deadrise! I must get their fish sandwich ASAP.
