Thank you all for your input. I wasn't sure if I was just being silly for wanting that so bad. I think we will try to tour both hospitals still but if anything I think it will solidify my feelings. I would much rather be open about my desire to go to another hospital if they would be receptive to that idea and still treat me. Have to think of how to bring that up. Thank you ladies!!
Night 2 of sleeping on a blow up mattress with my kids was awful! One literally was up under me half the night, I got peed on by my toddler, my other one had to get up twice to go pee. I don't think I actually slept at all. I have 2 more nights of this before DH gets here with the trucks.
@emeraldicty1214 omg that sounds horrible. Is your MIL still with you, I think she was traveling with you right?
@ABabyMarshall I agree with all the other ladies, a private room is important to me as well. And, it is really a crap shoot with the whole on-call doctor thing. The nurses are more important during labor anyway I thought!
I hate that the building here at work doesn't collect trash every day. I know its a cost saving measure but omg sometimes these trash bins are really overflowing and of course people eat at their desk and then throw out the food in the closest trash can and sometimes it is absolutely disgusting, like it is today.
@Dancer688@creamcheeseplease she left on Monday. So it is just me and the kids. We have been going to bed at 7:30 every night and I, by some miracle, got them all down for a nap yesterday.
AFM, I decided I'm going to work from home tomorrow and this should give me a chance to catch up on some of my housework. I can't wait to not come in here tomorrow.
Overall we are doing well but yesterday my almost 2 year old went into a tent where we keep all the stuffed animals and pooped. UGHHHHHHH! Of all days to not be able to have wine.
@creamcheeseplease enjoy your trash free working from home tomorrow. I’m tempted to wfh as well, we’ll see.
I haven’t posted at al this week til now but I have been lurking and reading all your posts. Just have had a crazy work schedule to deal with. Is it Friday yet?
@Dancer688, not potty training yet, but solidarity on the accident.. yesterday DS pooped in the tub, so I took him out and put him on the potty, he sat there for a bit and nothing else happened. So then he got up to leave and ran into the living room and while I was grabbing a diaper finished pooping on the rug Anyway, sorry about the poop in the tent!
@creamcheeseplease@kopp5988 I did sleep better because I reinflated the mattress. I have a suspicion that my BIL didn't fully inflate it to begin with and that is what caused it to lose air like that. It has a built in sensor that will keep reinflating as it senses the air leaving. I felt the motor running to reinflate it this morning and it wasn't doing that before. Also, we all got a full 12 hours of sleep last night and I feel like a new woman! I cut everyone off from water an hour before bed too so I didn't get peed on.
@Dancer688 I just hope it was a firm poop and not soft. 😂 Gotta look at the positive in a firm poop when it isn't done in the potty.
DH informed me this morning that they won't be making it today. It will be tomorrow afternoon when they get here. He also said our cat has been climbing all over the cab of his truck, trying to drive and batting at the windshield wipers. 😂 He even got to drive through a herd of buffalo and so far has seen at least 10 bears. I'm sorta jealous of all the things he is getting to see but I know I wouldn't be able to keep up with their pace. I think they are driving 14 hours a day. I can barely do 8 with the kids.
@dancer688 and @creamcheeseplease sorry about all the poop everywhere!! I feel like I'm looking into my future. Hehe!
AFM, I had a maternity orientation at the hospital last night with MH and confirmed that they only offer private suites for L&D and recovery. I'm just hoping it doesn't cost me a million dollars. My insurance has been a pain in the butt. I never thought I'd be on the phone with them as much as I have been these last few months. Also, it was wild being in a room with like 40 other pregnant ladies - I wanted to be like HIII EVERYONE, but clearly not the time :P
I have been busy with the kids today. We went and ate pancakes this morning, played at the lake, ate a late lunch at Olive Garden, and then finished up our day at the gym playing in their splash pad.
I also have been getting around without my GPS which is so weird. I always had to use it in Houston. The town we are in has the feel of a little Mountain town. Then I go up to the next biggest city and I feel like I hot civilization again. It is so weird after living in such a big city in TX.
Now, I plan to bathe the kids and put us all to bed. DH should be here by noon tomorrow.
Glad DH is coming tomorrow @emeraldcity1214! Now I really want a pancake.
@mc0303 I hope the maternity orientation was helpful!
I had planned to wfh today but I got stuck on a few meetings so I had to come in. But, I am going to leave early instead and get a pedicure. I am currently stuck on this ridiculous call. My boss is just rambling on.. he really "drank the kool-aid" of this place so to speak. He has been here almost 40 years so I guess its not surprising.
@creamcheeseplease Oh man, I hate rambling meetings. I am very much a stick to the business at hand and then let's go on with our day kind of person at work.
Fun Friday randoms-My husband has now been able to feel baby move the last couple of days with his hand on my stomach! So fun! And this morning I dropped off the wait list fee for the daycare we have decided to go with. I'm feeling really good about it as we toured a lot of places and this one was both my favorite and one of the more convenient ones as it's close to my office.
@runningfortwo81 how fun that YH has felt the baby move! I had MH try yesterday and he still claims he can't even though I've felt her on the outside several times already.
@runningfortwo81 & @creamcheeseplease - That is so exciting that you can feel it on the outside already!!! I was just wondering when about that would happen, I think probably a few more weeks since it has only been about 2 weeks since I have started feeling baby at all and this last week it is now more consistent.
That is always the best since my husband does not even register that we are expecting half the time. Feeling kicks always makes it a bit more real for him.
DH couldn't find a hotel last night so they had to drive straight through. He called me at 8 asking if we were up so they could come on over. Eek!!! I'm so excited!
Hooray @emeraldcity1214! I'm glad DH made it but oh man I could not imagine driving straight through the night. My night vision sucks at my age ha.
@Dancer688 yeah I sort of don't feel like MH has engaged that much with this pregnancy. I feel like he did with DS, but maybe that was just the excitement of the first one. I sometimes feel that way about myself and my own excitement levels. Which makes me feel bad a bit. I definitely feel my excitement rise when I buy clothes for her, haha.. and MH brought home the cutest little 6-9mo Minnie Mouse romper last week, so I know he likes to do that stuff too.
DH is set on going to Hawaii the first week in September. I will be 28/29 weeks. So right at the cutoff for travel. It's just one flight and it would be awesome to do it before this baby is born. Plus a week in Hawaii sounds amazing!
Apparently the trucks that had all of our stuff in it aren't sealed completely shut and when my husband and FIL drove on a particular dusty part of the Alaskan road coming Canada into Alaska, dust was stored up so bad that it has literally left a thin layer on all of our things. 😫 so now my progress has been slowed because I have to literally wipe everything down as it comes through the door. I feel like I haven't even made a dent.
@emeraldcity1214 oh noooo, I’m sorry! It always has to be something. I feel you on the dust, after a year of renovations here we had a cleaning service come in and we’re stilllll finding construction dust. Good luck cleaning!
I felt baby boy kick for the first time this weekend. Happened Friday night and I wasn’t 100% sure if that’s what it was but it just happened two more times! I have an anterior placenta so haven’t really felt anything until now
@emeraldcity1214 you should 100% do Hawaii!! I’m way jealous!! Just not that jealous of the dust. That’s so frustrating!
@kopp5988 that’s so exciting!! 💕 I have an anterior placenta too and kinda wish I didn’t. My baby was poking today so I took a video and you can actually see it from the outside! So I’m happy it’s not in my head.
@emeraldcity1214 I definitely think you should do Hawaii! That sounds amazing.
@mc0303 I just started seeing movement from the outside occasionally too! It's crazy. I felt like that started much later for me last time, but who knows anymore.
I can't believe you guys are starting to see movement from the outside! 😍 I've just started feeling consistent movement in the last few days but every time I try to feel with my hand the movement stops. Stop playing games baby!!
My mom, who is a designated difficult person in my life, has been irritating me beyond belief. I normally just listen to her complaints and jabs and move on because it's easier but I've been snapping on her. I don't know if I feel bad or DGAF
If you can manage it, go to Hawaii @emeraldcity1214! I say that as some who flew that far/late in my last pregnancy and just got back from Hawaii. We had so much fun!
@gumby22c we went for 2 weeks on our honeymoon and I have been dying to go back ever since. Flights from Alaska aren't super expensive either so we will likely make this a yearly trip.

@Dancer688 have so much fun!
