  • @varimama sorry you’re feeling down about TTC. I’m glad you had a great movie date with your DS though! That sounds adorable!
  • @mokay19 sorry you’re not feeling hopeful either this cycle. That’s awesome your DD liked spending the night at your parents, we haven’t attempted it yet but my DS doesn’t really sleep through the night yet and I don’t want to submit anyone to that lol

  • @MrsVP614 ugh I’d be so mad if someone said that to my kid! He’s still not showing signs but I’ve heard boys can be closer to 3 plus every kid is different. Honestly I’m not looking forward to potty training and having to find restrooms and deal with accidents when out. Diapers are much more convenient.

@varimama DS’s movie experience sounds so sweet. I’m going to have to see if any places around here have kid friendly showings. I have my fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

@mokay19 I’m glad your DD had fun at your parents! My DD loves going to my parents house too and is so sad when we pick her up. That part kind of sucks but it definitely makes it easier to go out when I know how much fun they are all going to have together.

@mrsvp614 I’m glad you said something to your MIL about the potty training. I usually freeze up and regret it later but there is nothing wrong with not being potty trained yet! It would be more out of the ordinary if he was potty trained at that age I think? I would have been annoyed too. Your story about your mom is crazy. She must be so strong.

@gingermama29 totally agree on video monitors. I would probably be in DD’s room 10 times a night (and waking her up in the process)

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not that hopeful. I don’t like our timing.

    Any questions? None this week!

Rant/Rave/Brag: We had such a great weekend. We went to the drive in and saw Toy Story. We never pick a movie for a date night activity so it’s been forever since we’ve seen a new movie shortly after it came out. DD fell asleep on the way there and stayed asleep until there was about an hour left in the movie. She sat so nicely and watched the rest with us. She gave us a little trouble going to bed when we got home but nothing major so we may try that again later this summer. Our fireworks party also went great and DD absolutely loved having all of the other kids there. There were 2 babies and she kept going over and hugging them and saying “hi baby” which made my uterus cry a little. But other than that it was a great weekend and a great distraction from TTC.

GTKY: Google for sure. Also having a phone to be able to hand to DD if I need her to sit still for a second is invaluable. Even just in the house if I need to use the bathroom or something. Makes life so much easier.

@stassischroeder we were posting at the same time so I missed you! I’m going to be hopeful on your behalf tomorrow! Also I laughed at the pooptrastophe which I shouldn’t because I would/will cry if/when that happens to me. And it sounds like your panera date went pretty well. A little yogurt never hurt anyone!
  • @varimama I'm sorry you're feeling down, but try not to get too discouraged.  It's still pretty early!

@mokay19 Those weekend recoveries are tough!  FX daycare puts her back on her normal routine/schedule!

@MrsVP614 Ugh, sorry about the annoying remarks from MIL.  I had the opposite issue.  We started right after he turned 2, and my mom kept making comments about how early it was.  Every kid is different!

@gingermama29 Video monitors are my answer too!

@stassischroeder Toddler-hood is sooooo much fun (she says with a straight face, and not sarcastically at all)

@bows22 Ugh, DS is obsessed with babies and it kills me inside every time.  Glad you had a good movie date and fireworks party, though!

Ages of other child? Will be 2 in September.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Too early to have thoughts. Clomid starting tomorrow.

    Any questions?

Rant/Rave/Brag:  DS kept counting everything he saw on the way to school this morning. Adorable. But, we definitely need to work on social skills. We went to a restaurant with a large play area yesterday. Every time another kid approached him, DS yelled “No, mine.”

GTKY: What parenting tech/gadget can you not believe our parents/grandparents raised kids without? Definitely the Internet. I’d be super lost without it.

  • @varimama Your movie date sounds cute. Awesome that he was so into the movie.

@mokay19 Sorry you’re not feeling hopeful and that dropoff was so tough. It is nice that she had fun with the grandparents, though.

@MrsVP614 WTF, MIL? That’s ridiculous. Also, starting before the kid is ready doesn’t seem like a good idea anyway. It totally made it harder with my niece. Hope you have a great time with the holiday.

@gingermama29 Those swim lessons sound so fun. Enjoy. I hope your O timing works out.

@Kathryn0903 Way to go with the bedtime paci! That’s our next terrifying hurdle. Hope it keeps going well.

@stassischroeder I’m over here still being optimistic for you. Also, aren’t toddlers super fun? DS went through a similar phase of trying to play with poopy diapers. The thermometer was a good one. Can’t even imagine doing that rectally all day long.

@bows22 It is so cute that your DD loves babies. Kind of makes my uterus cry too, though. Glad you had such a good drive-in date. Sounds so fun.

@shamrocandroll Sorry you missed part of the FW. Sucks when life messes up timing. Also, really sorry about the crappy bedtime last night. It’s so hard when they don’t want to cooperate.

  • @varimama I’ve been wanting to take my DS to a movie lately too! It’s cute he’s following with the movie at least!

MrsVP614 a lot of people have asked us about potty training DS too. I just feel he’s a little on the young side right now!

gingermama29 just curious with your username. Are you a ginger or is your DD? or both? I’m glad swim is going well. We did “water acclimation” classes with DS back in March… I was so glad when it was over lol

@kathryn0903 i’m sorry you don’t think it’s the month. But glad you are ok with it.

@stassischroeder so did you watch Jax and Brittany’s wedding coverage all over the internet? Or are you actually a VPR fan ?I just assume by the username :)

@bows22 I hate our timing this cycle too. But last cycle we had perfect timing and still nada so who knows..

@mercury94 did you have any side effects last round of Clomid? What is your dose?

@shamrocandroll my DS is having antics just like yours. Bedtime has become such a circus lately I’m not sure what’s going on.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I feel like our timing was crap. O really snuck up on me. Thank god I pee on OPKs every morning because last cycle O was CD33 and this cycle it was CD25. I didn't really get much of a heads up so we most likely only hit -4, -1 and O. (which i feel like -4 doesn't even count)

Any questions? Do you change anything during the TWW? I'll have a few drinks, but I was in a yoga class this morning wondering if any of these postures and bends would affect my chances.. but I think that's probably crazy talk.

  • @flinstone-2 Sorry that O snuck up on you, but at least you got -1 and O in there. Clomid gave me headaches, but nothing too awful. I’m on 50mg. Hoping it works just as well this time and we can get the timing right. Last month, I was not expecting a CD15 O.

  • @stassischroeder I feel like a bad mom but I give DS my phone and a short YouTube video with diaper changes now bc every every poop diaper change was becoming a pooptastrophe and this seems to work 🤷🏻‍♀️

@bows22 did you like toy story? Hoping it’s at the drive in still in a couple weeks when we’re planning on going! Also my DS loves babies too and it breaks my heart. Sometimes he comes up to me and says “I need a baby” 😭

@mercury94 social skills are so hard at this age. I feel like my guy just ignores all his “friends” and does what he wants

@shamrocandroll sorry about missing part of your FW and for a rough bedtime. I hope things start to get back to normal for you this week!

@flinstone-2 -1 and O is pretty great timing! I have thought of that with exercising too. There are definitely some non pregnancy friendly moves in my current program but I’ve been doing them bc I figure some people don’t even realize they’re pregnant until after they miss a period but idk now that I think about it I’m worried I’ve messed things up 🤷🏻‍♀️😬

  • @flinstone-2 we are both gingers! When I made my username though, it was only just referring to me. I'm super excited that DD got my red hair though. 😊

@stassischroeder gaah that pooptastrophe sounds awful. DD occasionally tries to grab her diaper while I'm changing her and I fear for similar experiences that you had. Usually a book will distract her enough to finish up the change though.

@shamrocandroll sorry you missed part of FW. And that last night's bedtime sounds rough. Hopefully it'll go more smoothly tonight!
  • @mercury94 DS is in the no, mine phase too. It's rough!
The bedtime paci wasn't too bad to take away. Friday, we were out all day and DS was so tired he didn't ask for a paci. I figured it was worth just going for it then.

  • @gingermama29 oh man! I'm a redhead too, but DS is so blonde his hair is white.
@mercury94 i hear you. My RE wants me on 100mg of clomid once we commit to his plan. It seems excessive and I just keep hearing horror stories of the side effects
@varimama that's how I'm choosing to think about it too, people dont know until they find out half the time. I can't live my life pregnant before I actually am... that would suck! aha

@Kathryn0903 looks like I missed you earlier today. That’s awesome about the night time paci. It’s funny how they are so attached but then can adjust to quickly. DD doesn’t even seem to care when she sees other kids with them now. I am also dreading molars though. She has the first set of molars on the top and it was fine but I hear the second set are the bad ones? I am terrified of anything that disrupts her (aka my) sleep.

@mercury94 thanks for commiserating with my sad uterus 👎🏻  As for your DS and sharing, maybe it was too overwhelming if it was crazy. I noticed that DD did great with her cousin yesterday until her cousin started taking toys from DD. Then I think she panicked and wouldn’t let her have anything. It was hard for me to figure out what to do because I didn’t really blame her. But I’m sure your DS (and my DD) get lots of practice sharing at daycare so hopefully that will help.

@shamrocandroll I’m glad last week is behind you (aside from the fallout with DS) hopefully he gets back into his routine soon.

@flinstone-2 I agree with you about -4 not counting. I know technically it does but if DH’s swimmers were that strong/my body had a great environment for sperm, it wouldn’t be taking so long to get pregnant? Also for your question I haven’t been changing anything. Other than testing on days I want to have a drink if I’m at least 9 DPO. DD and I go to mommy and me yoga and I have still been doing everything but it’s not exactly strenuous so it might not be a good comparison.

@varimama yes I really liked toy story! I told DH I wanted to see it before I  saw a spoiler online and then he accidentally ended up giving something away on the car ride there. 😒 But it was still really entertaining. DH liked it too, even though I know it wouldn’t have been his first choice.

  • @flinstone-2 I took 100 mg last time (before DS) and I don’t remember it being much worse as far as side effects. Maybe I was just lucky though.

@bows22 Yeah. I think he gets overwhelmed. He does fine with his cousin and I’ve seen him share toys at church, but he was clearly not in a sharing mood yesterday.

@mercury94  it is annoying though because you go to kid friendly restaurants to get a break and then you end up working harder haha. DD gets overwhelmed (too) easily so I get it. I probably baby her too much but I can’t help it.
  • @Kathryn0903 that's awesome about the nighttime paci. I fear that stage. DD goes down for naps and bedtime so well with her paci; the thought of when we have to get rid of it makes me nervous.

@bows22 Cutting molars is the worst! DD cut all 4 of her first molars at once! That was a rough month and a half. I feel like I should've bought stock in Motrin. Not looking forward to when her second molars arrive, but hopefully I've got several months before that. Also that's adorable about your DD hugging the other babies and saying hi, but I can definitely understand that hurting too.
  • @bows22 I'm jealous of your DD's behavior at the movie! There's no way DS would sit for that long lol. And thanks for being optimistic for me!

@flinstone-2 I have to admit that I'm a bad VPR fan lately! I've been stalking IG for updates and photos, but I didn't watch the live stream! I can say that I wasn't a huge fan of her dresses. Neither of the two that I saw wowed me.

@varimama I might have to use your phone trick during diaper changes! No shame in my screen game lol.

  • @BusinessWife The biting thing is hard, but also super normal at this age.  My kiddo wasn't a biter, but he was the bitee many, many times.  After a while, it's just another day at daycare.  It won't last forever, and doesn't mean she's not a good kid.  It's developmentally normal!

@BusinessWife no!!! Biting is the one instance where I’d rather DD be the victim than the perpetrator. Especially if she never bites at home, how are you supposed to correct it?? (general “you”). Awesome job on the weight loss! And I also hope that everyone is on the same page for timing. Keep us posted!

@stassischroeder @shamrocandroll  I think she was exhausted since she would normally be sleeping so she was okay with just sitting on our laps. And it was dark so she didn’t realize that running around was an option. So basically I think the drive in is our only chance of getting to see a movie again anytime soon haha. I don’t know if you guys have drive in movies near you but it was a lot of fun! I recommend giving it a shot!
  • @BusinessWife Biting is so hard. My niece was a biter. I don’t think it’s  really that concerning until they are older. She was 2 and still biting when my brother got concerned.

  • Thanks guys @bows22 @mercury94  @shamrocandroll  Yeah, they all said it's  totally normal and nbd, just, "exploratory," but ughh.  She has only done it a couple times at home, so it's not like it's a regular enough thing I can work on it, like you said.  But maybe keep watching for cues and redirect sooner?  She loves to give these big, wet, open-mouth kisses, like face- plants on your face lmao so I can see how if the next logical step were to chomp down, that would not be good. :/  so ya.

Trying wise, I guess the doctor was more conservative than I might have hoped.  I want to do what's best but I'm so anxious toget this show on the road!!!  I suppose we will have to strike a balance and try to just savor what will eventually be the last of our solo time with S... that feels a little bittersweet right there.
  • @millpe I'm getting my wisdom teeth out. Not a big deal surgery, but they're knocking me out completely for it and waited to schedule the surgery while I was still breastfeeding so it we're being cautious until after it's over.
  • @millpe. Well it took a long time... and tbh the first 20 fell off pretty easily after the delivery.  These recent 15 have taken like, 20 weeks. :/  some movement started to happen over Lent, I was sort of fasting/ not fasting because I was still nursing, maybe 5 or 6 lbs.  Then I omitted all the processed obvious carbs, and that moved a few more lbs like call it 7 or 8?  But then I was stuck because I was still way over-eating calorie wise.  I recently re-activated my calorie counting ap, and that gave me a big reality check.  Just that extra nudge of accountability was all it took to get the ball rolling again! Fx I can pick up some steam here finally.  Will stick low ish / slowish carb as much as possible, but emphasizing fresh veggies, fruits / produce for overall health and nutrition too.  For now.  Lol idk I may keep pushing true low-carb depending how I feel, and save the rest for pregnancy.

But just logging that first day showed me how much I'm eating all day, between morning and my work lunch /snacks.  It was really too much not to make dinner put me way over.  So I tweaked my work snacks again and I'm hoping that will carry me through the next little wave here.

Are you trying anything in particular?
  • millpemillpe member
@BusinessWife I havent done anything with my nutrition which is definitely the problem! I've been considering doing lowish carb. I swear H ruined my nutrition! He eats like a 12 yr old boy and if it's in the house, so do I! I just need to find some will power. Lol

Okay, I'm going to start tracking today! Thanks for that extra little push of motivation :)

  • @BusinessWife is the doctor making you wait longer for any reason like specific testing? I think it’s great that you’re thinking positively to cherish the time with your solo S.

@millpe we went to a house/condo warming party in Chicago! The party was a blast, however, we basically got stuck in the city on Sunday because of the Pride parade so we were out much later than we originally hoped and planned.
