@zaslawlz I agree w/ Vari that if they gave you a time frame and have exceeded it, it's worth following up--and even asking for a new time frame? Like, you didn't meet this expectation, so what's a new expectation? An email like that can be nice/understanding, but also--if it was in the contract, you paid for that expectation, and they should go above and beyond to make up for it. I'm glad what you have seen is super good! That's a good sign, you're right, that it should be worth the wait. The agony, though!

kagesstarshroom thanks!! Yeah I did the polite, chill email this past weekend. I reached out Sunday when they were past the deadline and they ignored the email. In a few days I’ll forward with a nice- just making sure you saw this email and hope for the best

@inthewoods23 I really like it! I’m graying fast by my temples and have never dyed my hair. I’ve got all sorts of reddish and orangey natural highlights that I’m worried what will happen when I finally do color it!

@zaslawlz That reminds me that I still need to do our wedding video. We are approaching the 3 year mark... oops! I have the same day edit video (like a music video), but I should really get on that...

@NYTino24 ha we bought the raw footage from our videographer and MH said he'd make an edit on that, still not done 6 years later... LOL

@mvt2003 we have the raw files too from our videographer. We love what they put together but it would be awesome to see what else they captured!

My walk down the aisle was sorta timed to the song. Like, walk out, pause, start down the aisle of chairs once a particular part starts playing. The videographer had used the music file separately so the timing looks off. That's one of the things we would have changed if we made our own video.

@inthewoods23 We got an email from our videographer offering us the files before he deleted them and we figured why not. I also hate loathe and despise the stills he chose on our "home" screen of the DVD. He literally put a picture up of me with my mouth full eating a cracker during my "cocktail hour" portraits. WTF dude. Every person we show the DVD to comments on it!

Not sure if anyone remembers my post the other day about the missing necklace (2+ years) that my grandma gave me. My SIL is borrowing one of my bags for the beach and she just found it in one of the pockets, scrunched down in the corner. I would’ve hugged her if I hadn’t just been wearing my towel 😂 I’m so f*cking happy right now!!!!

@mvt2003 We also have the raw footage. Man is it raw, like makes you dizzy from the clips. They just needed short parts for the same day edit, so you can see them putting the camera down as it’s turned off and everything. Definitely need a pro to make it into something.

You guys.... The fridge repairman came today and he says it'll be another 3 weeks minimum until he can get back with the parts to repair our broken fridge (which is only 3 years old and was very expensive). 😭😭😭 I broke down and ordered a new second fridge for downstairs. We had an old fridge down there as a backup, but it broke, and we've been looking for a used one to replace it for a while, but this was the straw that broke the camel's back. Luckily 4th of July is good for appliance sales, and I have a Best Buy card, so I can pay for it interest free over 12 months. I bought the cheapest one I could find, but still... UGH!!! It'll be here Saturday, and we'll just have to deal with going downstairs every time we need something from the fridge. Grumble...

ETA: Oh, and he said it's also possible there's a leak somewhere that he can't see it, in which case the fridge might be toast. It's under warranty, but I doubt they'll send us a whole new fridge, so I guess we might be back to Fridge shopping again soon. Grrrrrrr.........

@shamrocandroll Can I asked what kind of fridge it is? We had the same problem with an LG that was only a few years old. Waited 3 weeks for parts and paid $300 for service. It still didn't fix it and when we had a second repair guy come out he basically said it wasn't fixable unless we paid a ton of money. We had to buy a new fridge. I'm still so bitter.

-It's a side by side
-The freezer likes to go on these thaw cycles that make it 11 degrees
-There's not a good space in the freezer to store a frozen pizza
-There are door hold positions like a car has so if you don't close it hard enough you might actually leave it open, letting all the cold air out

I'm kidding of course, but the fridge that came with our house just does NOT work for us. I want a French door soooo bad!

@silly_goose @tyrion_ The parts won't take too long to get here, but the repair guy is booked solid for 2 weeks. Although since we're without cooling, we go to the top of the priority list if anyone cancels.

@ruby696 UGHHHH it's an LG. I really hope that doesn't end up being the case for us. They just instituted a 5 year warranty, and decided to honor it for anyone who hasn't owned their appliance for 5 years yet, so that's a relief. But they probably won't give us a whole new fridge, and I'm betting we'll only get a prorated refund on what we paid for it based on how long we've had it. I loved our fridge and the features when it was working, but based on this and the customer service so far, I'M NEVER BUYING LG AGAIN!!!

@inthewoods23 Hahaha, the old fridge we replaced was like that. I think it was even a GE? This one is a beautiful, HUGE french door fridge, and I'm so upset about this because it's only 3 years old and I loved it up until now!!! Don't buy an LG!!!

OMG @shamrocandroll, we probably had the same fridge! Ours was french doors on top and a pull out freezer, and I LOVED it. Mine stopped staying cold. It was something to do with the electronics and the second guy basically said it wasn't worth the money to fix it. We lived out of a mini fridge for three weeks in the middle of July. Finally I bought a new Jenn-Air.

ETA: Agree - I'll never own another LG.

@shamrocandroll I also recommend avoiding Samsung if possible. All of our appliances are Samsung and it is generally impossible to find someone who will fix them. Thus, the people who do fix them charge a fortune.

@mercury94 Yeah Samsung has not been great about issues with their washers and dryers too. We had ours installed a day or 2 before the big recall over the exploding top door washers (which is what we got). Ours wasn't actually in the recall, but they still sent us stickers to modify the wash cycles.

Our dryer has also stopped spinning 2-3 times. DH has been able to fix it himself. The belt, for whatever reason, would come off. BUT after some research, turns out there some plastic piece that can get melted from the heat of the dryer so no matter how many times you put the belt back on, it'll keep coming off. Also, the grease in a bearing seized from the heat too (the true reason it stopped spinning).

Samsung was basically helping no one saying the solution is to have a tech come and fix it. WORD TO THE WISE - the assembly that includes the spring, wheel, and bearing to tension and rotate the belt around the drum - you can buy a BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL version and it's like, $50 or something on Amazon. Go buy it if you ever have a Samsung dryer with a drum that doesn't spin!!!

I just remembered that I recently talked about this in the threads because we just fixed it like last month. I want to get the word out in case any of you ladies ever have this issue too if you have a Samsung dryer!

I make fun of my parents because their microwave is like 20 years now old (maybe older idk, it’s the only one I ever remember and we’ve been in that house since I was born) and is hideous. But the new looking one that was in mine and DH’s house when we moved in already died soooo...

@b_1029 my parents still have the fridge that came with the house they bought in.... 1995. It's the spare fridge in the basement now but it works just fine! Our parents had it so good lol
