I played my first round of 18 on saturday and HOLLLLY cow my body took a beating. I guess I can no longer call golf a "fat man" sport or make fun of guys who drink and play... because apparently my fit ass can't handle a round. I did enjoy driving the cart around though and drinking beer all afternoon! I had this moment where I thought to myself - if I never get KU, at least I can do this every weekend lol

@chichiphin I had no idea that drinking and golfing at the same time was a thing! I would totally take up golfing if margaritas were involved.

@emeraldduchess we packed our own cooler! it's a public course though, so I'm not sure if you can do that at a private course.

@chichiphin we played in a glow-ball, best-ball tournament this weekend and it was so much fun! We live in a small, rural town, so pretty much anything goes - including excessive drinking. But this is extra fun because its at night with glowing golf balls and a (poorly) lit up course. It was a lot of driving the golf cart around in the dark just hoping that we didn't run into anything. I'm a horrible golfer but it doesn't matter because it was a ton of fun!

Also, I still think Ava is amazing. I was given the option of a full refund (after having it for a year), or a new Ava. I picked the new Ava. So that should say a lot.

Why I hardly sunbathe: I have a weird burn line on both my knees, one calf, in one armpit, and all over my chest from yesterday. Apparently I’m REALLY bad at putting on sunscreen. Ouch.

@b_1029 no matter how you apply sunscreen there will always be a weird burn line  happens to me all the time!!

@b_1029 if that happens to me it tends to be on my face. Like I'll miss towards one side of my jawline or some spot on my forehead. Hope you brought some aloe lotion or gel with you for the burns!

@emeraldduchess the best part of golf is the drink cart! I just go to record my husband’s swing 800 times, drink, and sit in the cart.

Lesson learned this weekend....Avoid the State Fair!!! I ate way too many fried Oreo's and other things!!

@stacey6689 I love fried Oreos! We’re going to a festival this weekend and I hope they have some there but if not they def have strawberry shortcake (it’s a strawberry festival!)

All this talk of yummy food. Goodness. DH brought home a French silk pie. It’s okay. My diet starts back after my birthday on Wednesday.

I ate terribly all weekend. I had a conference out of state, and they greeted us with gourmet chocolate, and fed us very well all weekend. And I sat on my butt in meetings the whole time. 
And I have to go try on bridesmaid dresses in a week #shame
@mercury94 I think I'll need to start a diet soon too. I've been exercising, but it's just not keeping up with chocolate dipped brownies.

@tyrion I’m sorry for the Oreo peer pressure!! Lol But yay for rejoining weight watchers. I did the program to get ready for my wedding and it really helped me. Wishing you lots of success!!!

Thanks, @stacey6689! I’ve done the program a few times and love it. I recently just had a few months of indulging my every sad emotion with burritos, chips, guacamole, and salsa. I just need a little portion control tune up.

Has anybody tried those color depositing deep conditioners? Because I definitely took my hairstylist up on the offer to add a color deep conditioner to my wash and now I'm like whoa... This is kinda dark! It makes me look pale! But I do like that it gives my hair a redder tone!

@inthewoods23 I like it! My hair is a similar color naturally. Not exactly the same thing, but I use a color-depositing only dye on my hair. Similar idea. I use Arctic Fox Purple Rain. It's definitely purple, but I can still get away with it at work.

@SimpleJane I can't remember, but the brand name started with an M. The packaging labels were pink but I'm not sure if that was because the color conditioner was red or if the whole line is uses that color for it's packaging.

My randomness for this morning: I know summer just started, but I so cannot wait for Fall. It's my favorite season, and I feel like I'm just a much happier person in the Fall. We've had some pretty mild mornings recently (low-70s, upper-60s) that I've been really enjoying, and am living in fear of the sweltering heat that I know is just around the corner.

it seems like a few of us are going more red/purple. I took the leap about a month ago. But I will need to try and get some more sun this summer to balance it out. It’s faded a little and doesn’t always look this vibrant depending on the light source.

For all those married/non married who have had professional photos done, how long did it take for you to get your pictures back? Our contract said 6-7 weeks and we’re over that. Sent an email on Sunday which was ignored and wondering how to balance the line because I obviously want the photos to get the time they need.

@zaslawlz This was 6 years ago, but we were married in August, didn't get our photos until Thanksgiving. It takes a really long time to go through the thousands of images 2 photographers can take at a wedding, then editing them for colors etc. My photographer was a high school friend, and I know she rushed to get them to me so I could use a shot for holiday cards. If your contract says 6-7 weeks, you are entitled to at least a check-in though IMO.

@zaslawlz professional pictures can be so frustrating. For normal portraits I’ve had done I’ve never had issues with getting them on time. Our wedding photos were a different story. They kept dragging out the date until it well past their contract time and weren’t answering my phone calls/emails. They did eventually give them to me but it’s hard bc you don’t want them to do a shitty job on your pics but also 2 months is a long time to wait!

@zaslawlz I had a July wedding and we got our pictures within 3 weeks. I think our photographer doesn't overbook too much so we were able to get them quickly.

@zaslawlz - This is not my first marriage, but for my previous marriage our wedding photos were to us within the timeframe specified in our contract (6 weeks, I think, this was 8 years ago so my memory is a little foggy). 

When I remarried in 2016, it was the off-season, so our photographer was able to get us our photos lightning quick. Like, within a week of our wedding, lol. So, I'm not a real good person to ask, since that was the exception, not the rule.

I'd say that if it's over the timeframe specified in your contract, and you've already emailed them, then I'd follow-up with a phone call. If they don't answer then I'd leave a friendly message. If they don't return the call within 3 days, then another phone call with a strongly-worded message stating that I am preparing to file a claim for reimbursement through the BBB (or something to that effect). We paid a lot of money ($2K+) for our wedding photos - it was the biggest expense of the day. You better damn well believe I'm going to raise hell. If they are professional photographers, then they know how busy the summer season gets, and that they should manage their workload accordingly. This is not new. Summer/wedding season happens every year.

@mvt2003 true true, MH is a lawyer so he's super particular with contracts so this is my first time really reviewing it- it provided language that no guarantee # of photos but  the average wedding gets 100 photos per hour. We did 9 hours and that's a TON of photos for them to go through.

@inthewoods23 lol I think that's my frustration. We were their first wedding of the year for them, and their social media was all about a nice weekend get-a-way before "busy season" picks up where they have a wedding every weekend in July.

varimama I agree. I did ask for a photo for thank yous at the 5 week mark (which we also had them add to the contract, if any lurkers are wanting sneak peaks just have them add it, they did for free). They do digital and film and gave us about 30 unedited film photos that were REALLY good so I keep telling myself it's going to be worth the wait.
