  • @ibabyloveb87 Gross. That is even worse. Whyy do people insist on making these things at work? And thanks, it went away fairly quickly since I opened up all the windows.

  • @elmann1 I agree. Not sure who did it!

Im currently sitting in the car watching DS (2.5 yo) have his swim lesson. He haaaaaates going but he does so well! He’s actually swimming to the wall on his own and grabbing the wall and this is only his 3rd lesson!! It’s hard to take him when he doesn’t want to go, but we live at the beach so water is never far away. Safety first!

  • This is really random. This is briannah1010.... I just changed my username so it was a little more discreet. Just wanted to give you all a heads up so I didn't seem like some random new person. I never knew how to change it and it been that since I got engaged and used theknot.com. Anyways, super random but I figured out how to change it, so I did.
  • @bg122785 I thought about changing mine the other day but it felt like too much work hahaha

  • @ibabyloveb87 It actually only took like 15 secs, ok maybe 30 after having to google how. So if you are ever feeling up to it, it is not too much work. hahaha Just have to log into your knot.com account and click acct settings and wah-la!

I took DS with me to dinner with my dad last night (delayed Fathers Day). DS technically spilled the beans. He said “The baby is this tiny” and put his fingers close together. But I don’t think my dad understood what he was saying (my dad doesn’t speak toddler haha) thank goodness! So I just kept talking without acknowledging DS.
Wouldn’t have been the end of the world, but I was hoping to tell him and my stepmom together.

  • I just found out my MFM doctor is tier II with my insurance, meaning my cerclage could be wildly unaffordable.  I work for a hospital system, mind you, so it extra pisses me off.  This will be my fifth cerclag and I am sure that my cervix is not right after so many and need someone extra skilled.  I really don’t want to find a new doctor, but the reality is that if this is going to cost me $15,000 out of pocket then I need to find a new one.  Maybe a UO, but This is why it also drives me crazy when people say socialized medicine would mean you don’t get to choose your doctor.  My insurance already has us narrowed into such a small group of doctors that we can’t choose our doctor anyway.  I have PPO and pay the highest price to have more access, which technically I do, but how much is it going to cost me with limited tier I doctors.  Ugh!
  • @DDRRT1982 sorry if I missed it elsewhere, but why can’t you go to the same MFM as previously? What changed that this one is tier II?

My insurance changed mid pregnancy last time.  My husband had a job change, so we went with my insurance.  My insurance has my MFM listed as tier II.
  • @DDRRT1982 I live in Canada and work as a nurse too here... I can't imagine healthcare any other way. I think it works pretty well! Our stats are better than the states in many cases. I can choose which midwife, family dr, or even ob gyn to get referred to. 40-60% of healthcare costs in the US goes to administrative costs... It's not very efficient at all. I don't have to keep track of each little piece of gauze or other equipment I use on my patients and nobody has to think about how much this hospital stay will cost them. In fact, ppl argue to stay longer in the hospital! Sorry, just a rant on how socialized medicine is not evil. :) I hope you get your mfm figured out and hope it isn't too pricey for you!
  • Eeeeek my “Sneak Peek” kit came in the mail today! I would’ve waited til closer to 9 weeks to order, but they had a good deal on Amazon during Father’s Day weekend. I don’t know why I’m so antsy to find out the sex this time. I was the one who was adamant that we be team green last time (DH agreed we could be team green the first one if we could find out for the second). Three weeks til I can test now!
  • @daffodil_shoe Oh my goodness! How exciting!!!

  • I have already started to buy stuff for the new baby. I've been shopping on the marketplace on Facebook for good deals on newborn stuff! Picking up a bassinet that I can use for my stroller and also for overnight sleep... I think it will be a good investment used and I can just sell it for the same price after I'm done with it.

  • @clearlyclara That’s awesome! Most baby things around where I live don’t have as good of resale value, even at like 1/5 of original cost, because supply is high and people are so generous that they often give stuff away. It’s nice considering we live in a high COL area of NJ.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

  • Is it me or does this group have a larger than normal amount of twins?  It’s so exciting for all of you, but are there more twins than Singleton on the ultrasound thread?
  • @DDRRT1982 It definitely is crazy how many ladies on our board are expecting twins!

  • @DDRRT1982 I was thinking the same! Must be something in the water
  • @DDRRT1982 I know not all of the twins on our BMB are from ART, but some are, so that increases the probability. So does AMA, and overall, women are having babies at older ages. You’ll also notice some women join the board after they’re having multiples, and it’s because they’re more likely to seek out support on how to manage it. :)

  • Didn’t think I was hungry. Then decided I was. Just downed like half a box of pasta. With butter. Pregnancy is weird.
