PGAL Check-in w/o 6/19

Re: PGAL Check-in w/o 6/19

  • Friday evening I got up to pee and when I wiped it was tinged with pink/brown. I tried not to panic. We DTD for the first time since I've been KU'd the night before so I assumed it was from that. MH and I went for a walk and when I came back I peed again and it was gone.

Well last night I woke up around 4am and it happened again. PGAL brain has me so worried. It's been such a small amount but anytime I've bleed in pregnancy I've had a loss. I guess I wouldn't even consider this bleeding but I keep panicking that this is my body trying to start miscarrying. I havent had any cramping. But I've also had very few pregnancy symptoms. I'm just so worried that when I go to my appointment on  Thursday the heartbeat is going to be gone.

  • @dumbledoredies I’m sorry about the spotting scare! I know Thursday must feel like decades away but I hope you get wonderful news at the scan.
  • *lurking*
@dumbledoredies I'm so sorry you're going through this. The worry alone is so stressful. FX it's just spotting from your cervix being irritated from sex and it goes away soon. I've been too scared to have sex since after we first found out (there was celebratory sex but none since) I'll be thinking of you and hoping you hear that heartbeat on Thursday! ❤
  • @dumbledoredies when I was 10 weeks with my daughter, I spotted pink the day after sex, then brown for like 10 days maybe. I hope that’s all yours is. Fingers crossed for you.

I’m having a bad PGAL day. My stomach suddenly feels not pregnant and it was comfortable to sleep on it last night. I went through this a couple weeks ago and had a good u/s after, but it still screws with my head. And I’ve had migraines 4 of the last 5 days and I worry it’s from falling hormones. My sister told me worrying doesn’t help. So I’ll just stop then! Excellent! 🤦‍♀️

  • @dumbledoredies sorry for the scare, I hope it’s just form the sex and it stops, please keep us posted ❤️
  • @dumbledoredies Spotting in pregnancy is the absolute worst and they can never give you a definitive reason for it.  I spot and bleed after every internal ultrasound. And then, I spot for a good 3-4 days.
  • @dumbledoredies that's great news!
  • @dumbledoredies - It sounds very plausible that the spotting came from the sex. I spotted after sex for about two weeks from 5 weeks to 7.

@carrieandr - When is your next ultrasound? I've heard migraines are a very common pregnancy symptom, but I don't have any personal experience. As for the stomach, it could be that you just weren't bloated that night.
  • @marebear15 the next u/s is in 2 weeks. I’ll be 12w2d. My stomach is still feeling flatter, more comfortable and less pregnant. And my symptoms are decreasing. But I know bloating and symptoms improve as you near the end of the first trimester. So it could really go either way. I wish I could remember how my lower abdomen felt with my successful pregnancy. I wish you could feel baby kicks this early. It would give us all some much-needed reassurance.

  • @carrieandr I’ve been feeling less pregnant this past week as well. It’s making me more anxious of course. I wish we could just get by this whole
phase and feel more secure, but I have a feeling that won’t happen until baby is here.

@dumbledoredies I’m so glad the spotting has stopped! Fx for great appt Thursday!
  • @carrieandr, It sucks, doesn't it? *Hugs* It's been sending me into cold sweats. My stomach isn't as bloated. I don't feel as nauseated. My sense of smell isn't as Dog Like as it was. After a bit, common sense kicks in... My nausea isn't as bad because it's driven by my sense of smell.... Which is GONE because I'm sick and can't smell or taste ANYTHING. The bloating is less because I have no appetite... Because I'm sick.

But, PGAL brain rears her ugly head and I'm right back where I was. Can you call your u OB and see if they can squeeze you in? Or, a third party ultrasound company like Stork Vision? You're 10w, right?
  • Hi everyone- been lurking on this specific thread and it's been helpful to read others going through similar experiences. I'm 9.5 weeks now with twins, but this is my first pregnancy that's made it past 6 weeks and I have nothing to compare to so i'm just panicking. I've felt less nauseous all weekend and we don't have another appointment until July 9th at around 12 weeks so I've just gotten PGAL brain in overdrive. My husband is trying to be supportive and encouraging me to think positive, but it's easier said than done. I wish we could get US every day, but I know that's harmful to our little ones. I guess this is the beginning of mommy-worrying!
  • Definitely feeling the same insecurities. I just got 9 weeks and actually feeling a bit better. Luckily I still have some symptoms but bloating and nausea is less. But rationally it can make sense that symptoms are less at this stage for all of us. PGAL brain doesn't listen to rationality though. Hang in there ladies

I’m finding it reassuring that I’m not the only one feeling less symptoms at 9+ weeks. My nausea was at its worst during weeks 7 and 8. This past weekend I had some dry heaving after eating fruit but for the most part the nausea has decreased. Really hoping I can get another scan soon for some reassurance.

  • Have any of y'all noticed your symptoms ease back on days you're not working? For me, it's always the weekend everything seems to vanish. I think it's because I can rest and snack more.
  • @FyreFlyeRush I could probably request it, but my insurance is terrible. I have a $6000 deductible, so I’m paying for the pregnancy/delivery out of pocket. When I had my daughter, I had awesome insurance. Zero deductible and u/s’s were a $20 copay. Now I pay more for one u/s than I did for all of my daughter’s scans combined. And I’ve spent almost $10,000 on miscarriages and RE testing. 😣

  • We all crazy here.  I try to stay busy so I don't overthink everything.  But before bed is the worst time....
  • @FyreFlyeRush I had way more symptoms with my first pregnancy and was working then. I think I felt worse because I hated sitting at a desk and was so bored so I would just sit there thinking about how miserable I was. Now that I'm a SAHM I'm busier running around with a toddler and it helps to keep my mind off of everything.
  • Thank you everyone! I've had another spotting episode on Friday but it's  stopped since then. I called my OB's office this morning and the receptionist just said they would put it on my chart. I haven't heard anything back so I guess since it stopped I don't need to be seen?

  • I’m so relieved to hear others symptoms are waning too and it’s not just me. So hard to not over analyze and freak out. I’m going to the OB Wednesday for my NIPT blood draw and it’s the first visit without a scheduled ultrasound. Do you think they will use the Doppler to check on baby? I’ll be 10w5d so hoping I get some reassurance everything is still ok.
  • My day is off to a rough start. I have tons of work to do, my daughter is in off-the-charts tantrum mode and it still feels like whatever used to happening in my abdomen is no longer happening, so I just want to curl up on the couch. I just locked myself in my DD’s room for a moment of peace. I don’t know how I’m going to get through this day. P.S. My mom used to watch DD while I worked but that stopped unexpectedly 7 months ago when my parents started remodeling their house.

  • I have developed a horrible aversion to water. The thought of it turns my stomach and makes me gag. I just want to go home and sleep. I are so TYE-erd! (said in my best South Texas drawl)
  • @FyreFlyeRush I usually love water but have really hated drinking it for the last few weeks. Plus it makes my stomach nauseated afterwards. It has made keeping up on my fluids tough so I feel ya!
  • @FyreFlyeRush I get you with the water thing. I only now have been able to start drinking it and it has to be ice cold. I would literally throw up just from water. Meanwhile with my DD all I could drink was water and not even think about juice or coffee etc. Maybe try little sips of water and if you like a ton of ice I found it helped?

@DalexRN It might be a bit earlier depending on the position of baby for the doppler. I asked at my 12 week appointment and they couldn't find it since my uterus was apparently still under my pelvic bone. That caused me a great 24 hours of worry until my ultrasound the next day haha.
  • @dumbledoredies - I always spot like that after sex in the first trimester(with my daughters) - brown and pink, on and off.    I expected it with this one, so I was less scared when it happened (not that I ever love spotting, but at least I can pinpoint a reason). Hopefully your scan tomorrow comes quickly for reassurance.
