Re: PGAL Check-in w/o 6/19

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 9 weeks

    2. Previous loss(es)? 6 losses. 12/13, 1/17, 11/17, 4/18, 9/18, 2/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Physically I’ve had on and off nausea. Some days I can’t get off the couch, others i can eat whatever and be fine. I’m always tired and I’ve had some crazy cramping the past few days. Emotionally I have good moments and bad. Every so often the PGAL brain starts but then I’m hit with a ton of bricks and can’t get off the couch, so that helps.

    4. Any appointment updates? Ob intake and bloodwork on Monday.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? We told my MIL last night we are expecting. Thinking she knows our history she won’t tell anyone. Nope. She announced on fb a few hours later. I woke up to a text from my mom at 530 saying she saw. I kinda freaked and had dh text her right away. Like wtf.

    6. Any milestones coming up? Past the milestones for my losses. Just looking forward to my next scan to make sure baby is still growing and healthy.

    7. GTKY: What is the craziest way you have been injured? Nothing too out there but I flipped over my handle bars and landed face first on a rock driveway. I also sliced open my index finger opening a can of dog food when I was like 4. Why my parents thought that was an ok thing for me to do is beyond me.
  • @kbrown2385 she announced on FB?! I would be so furious! This isnt her information that she gets to just run around sharing. You would think she would have a little common sense.

I also flipped over my handlebars as a kid and split my lip open.
  • Loading the player...
  • @dumbledoredies I kinda freaked and started to send her a nasty message. I had to breathe and stop myself. I made dh tell her to delete it because he is calmer than I am but i also made sure he reminded her of our history and it’s not her place to do that.
  • @kbrown2385 that’s messed up not only because of your history, but because it’s your big news to share, which anyone with half a brain would realize! —When my cousin-in-law asked my uncle for permission to propose to his daughter, my uncle posted on FB that his daughter was getting married. My cousin replied “He hasn’t asked me yet, Dad.”

  • @carrieandr wtf??? I get being excited but holy crap. Let’s take a moment and think about it being a good idea or not.

  • EDD: 1/18, 9w4d

    Losses: 3 MMC’s, 4 CP’s + a vanishing twin in this pregnancy

Feeling: unisom is helping the nausea but making the fatigue worse. I far prefer fatigue, but it’s difficult when you have a toddler and work from home.

    Appt: 7/8

Sort of rant?: My MIL FaceTimed my daughter yesterday and DH asked if I told her I was pregnant. I told him I think we should wait until my next u/s. Last pregnancy we had a good scan at 7.5 and a bad one at 10.5. My good scan at 8.5 seems to have given him full confidence. I’m half shocked, half jealous. We’re not out of the woods yet! And the fact that I can’t get the NIPT test makes me scared to announce at all.

Milestones: My good scan at 8w4d was the farthest along that we’ve had a good scan, but 10.5 weeks was the latest I’ve gotten bad news. So I won’t really know that I’ve surpassed all losses until my scan at 12w2d.

GTKY: When I was 8, I climbed on the stove to reach a high cupboard and the stove was on. I burned my hand really bad. It’s amazing I don’t have scars.

@kbrown2385, I'm sorry she did that. It would have infuriated me. My BFF accidentally outted me at work, and I was so upset with her.

    1. How many weeks are you? 8w3d

    2. Previous loss(es)? 1/19 @10w4d

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically?  Emotionally, I'm waiting for the next milestone, and obsessing over the NIPT.  Physically, I'm fighting a virus, growing a human, and dealing with a huge ramp up in morning SUCKness. I'm exhausted. I ended up taking off two days from work just to sleep.

    4. Any appointment updates? I'm supposed to go to perinatology in a couple of weeks because I'm old and decrepit with old and decrepit eggs.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions?  My OB gave me anti nausea mess, but I'm hesitant to take them... I feel like once I'm past week 10, it'll settle down. Would yall take them and see? It's not AS bad as with my son, where I had HG, but it's close right now.

    6. Any milestones coming up? With my scan at 8w1d having a positive outcome, I passed a huge milestone... I have two more: 9w6d and 10w4d, the start and finish of my loss. Other than that, every week will be a milestone...nothing is guaranteed.

    7. GTKY: What is the craziest way you have been injured? I'm accident prone, no joke. To pick just one is hard. I would say I got stuck in a tree once, scraped my thighs pretty good. Fell down the middle of a jungle gym, with arms and legs tangled everywhere. One day last summer, I fell up the stairs at work scraping my knee... Two hours later, I fell up the stairs again, and scraped the OTHER knee. Don't worry... My phone broke my fall. Oh! I stepped on rock once, twisting my left ankle... And somehow tore my right LCL. I'm so accident prone, I've totalled 3 cars in 6 years because OTHER people hit ME!!!

    8. Bonus Round. I'm craving steak and eggs. I hate eggs. But I got these farm fresh ones from the farmers market and they're calling my name. Too bad I don't have steak....and pancakes. Maybe I should go to Dennys.
  • @kbrown2385 - What on earth?! How would she not know that she's not to tell anyone because #1 your history and #2 it's not her news to share?? Did she take it down?

@carrieandr - Did you try just B6 without the unisom? Unisom makes me tired too, but it seems to be the only thing to help.

@FyreFlyeRush - I take all the meds for nausea. I hate throwing up, which I did every single day from 6 weeks until 14 weeks with my DD. This time I started the meds right away and I've only thrown up once.

    1. How many weeks are you? 9w+4d

    2. Previous loss(es)? January at 4w+6d

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally, I'm good. Physically, I have nausea and fatigue and this morning I had a dizzy spell

    4. Any appointment updates? next appointment is in July at 12 weeks

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? My parents' rental house that we landlord for them flooded last night. It was just the entry way, but we are going to have to figure out how to get the water to drain the right way.

    6. Any milestones coming up? All have passed.

    7. GTKY: What is the craziest way you have been injured? I once cut my finger when I was cutting fabric, because I stuck it under the fabric and didn't know it was there? I'm not really sure what happened.
  • @FyreFlyeRush my dr is sending me to maternal fetal medicine specialists after my 12 week scan. My 41st birthday was yesterday, so I’m old and decrepit, too.

@marebear15 I’ve been taking b6 since the nausea started. Adding half a unisom before bed made a big difference.

  • @kbrown2385 that is insane. I woukld be beyond livid

@carrieandr the fatigue with a toddler to deal with is no joke. Do you take the Unisom during the day as well?

@FyreFlyeRush I’m all about the nausea meds and took them as soon as the dr gave them to me. What did you get? After I was able to start eating again mine got more tolerable if I just kept eating. So I only take half a Unisom at night and Zofran during the day if I really need it. Idk if B6 actually causes fatigue, but I spent a week on the couch and the day I stopped taking B6 I was able to function way better

@marebear15 oh my goodness that would be how I would hurt myself too. Cutting fabric is my least favorite part of sewing and I tend to rush and then oops

    1. How many weeks are you? 8+6

    2. Previous loss(es)? Early MC/CP April 19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally I am much better after our scan yesterday. Physically I’m doing a little better. I think? The nausea has mostly let up and I’m able to get off the couch but still so fatigued.

    4. Any appointment updates? 10 week appointment next Thursday

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I’m going with a friend to get a pedicure this weekend and i
am really looking forward to it.

    6. Any milestones coming up? We’ve made it past when I had my loss.

    7. GTKY: What is the craziest way you have been injured? I had to get stitches through my eyebrow when I was young because my brother threw a board book at me

  • @carrieandr,

I saw your NIPT post. That sucks you can't get it done. And Happy Birthday! What on earth made us decide we wanted to embark on this adventure in our 40s??? This time last year, I absolutely knew I was done having kids. SMH, the things I do for love.
  • @MrsJessS - And those fabric scissors are so sharp! We should have a craft thread to show off our sewing projects. Are you currently working on anything?
  • @kbrown2385 that is not okay that they did that. We worry about that with my MIL which is why we told a bunch of family at the same time since we couldn't trust her to keep her mouth shut. Luckily she is not on social media so we didn't have to worry about the world. I would be so mad!!

@FyreFlyeRush I say take the meds to see if they help. Morning sickness isn't bad for the baby but it can make you not eat as healthy as you should and/or get behind on fluids. Plus it's miserable to be sick all the time!

    1. How many weeks are you? 8wk2days

    2. Previous loss(es)? 2 loses (1@ 6wk GA and one CP)

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Feeling okay. My next appointment is a long ways off and starting to be nervous the next scan will be bad news. It's just PGAL brain. I definitely feel enough symptoms but for some reason that doesn't help. Physically I'm more emotional and fatigued but the b6/Unisom makes the nausea manageable.

    4. Any appointment updates? Next appt is not until July 11. I think I'm doing the sequential screening so hoping I get to see baby sooner.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Tired tired tired! But I just opened a package from my mom and they sent me ginger candies. I just cried because it was so thoughtful! Told you I was emotional lol.

    6. Any milestones coming up? I've surpassed all milestones at the moment so every day!

    7. GTKY: What is the craziest way you have been injured? I was tap dancing and we were holding hands. I slipped and since my hands were full landed on my face. Chipped my front tooth which eventually died. I eventually had to get an implant which is a two year process. No one would know if I didn't tell them. Crazy freak accident!
  • @MrsJessS just half a unisom at night but the effects last through the day for me.

@FyreFlyeRush I got married when I was 36 and have been trying to have kids ever since, aside from a 9 month break when my daughter was born. My prognosis from the RE was so bad, I thought she’d be an only child. I really, really, really hope this works out.

  • @marebear15 it took her a couple of hours but she finally took it down. Hope you’re able to figure out the flooding issue!

@FyreFlyeRush I’m not one to take meds but if I was that miserable I’d take them. Hope you feel better soon!

@MrsJessS enjoy your pedi! I got one yesterday and it was heavenly.

@biolprof I don’t know what she was thinking. She didn’t do any of this with ds so I was shocked. Thankfully she took it down. That was so nice of your mom to send the candies for you.
  • @carrieandr, I'm sorry you have to go through that. It's so weird how different the human body can be from one woman to another. My partner doesn't have his own biological children, though he considers mine to be his. My daughter (23) and he are especially close, as her father isn't around much. Maybe I'm too greedy, but I wanted that piece of us...like a bridge completely the family.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 12 w

    2. Previous loss(es)? sep18 and mar19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Sorry I have been MIA, i am extremely jet lagged and barely functioning here at work. I cant even bring myself to unpack and typically I always unpack the first day I'm back. My bloating seems to have gone down, still nauseous but slowly better.

    4. Any appointment updates? I had my first midwife intake yesterday! I thought it went great and feel comfortable going with them (I had an OBGYN last time). I asked if we could try to find the heartbeat on the doppler and they couldn't so of course I had a whole night of worrying, woke up at 3:30am due to the time change and waited till 9am for my appointment today for the (NIPT/NT). I was a mess at the appointment and the technician was the one that did my MC ultrasounds and follow-ups. First I just had silent tears, then after it was done she showed me the screen and I was just bawling. There was a fully developed baby in there, so active, kicking and spinning around, opening and closing it's mouth, I couldn't handle it, even the technician had tears. I went in fully expecting to be told there was no more heartbeat or that baby wasn't growing enough, but in the end they have me measuring a couple days more than 12w, but they are sticking to the original due date.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone know when the next ultrasound should be, is that around 20 weeks? Will be hard to wait that long

    6. Any milestones coming up? I am just in shock that today went well. I still somehow can't let my guard down and fully accept this is happening. I hope that passes soon or I learn to cope with it.

    7. GTKY: What is the craziest way you have been injured? This is actually crazy...first year of University at a Chinese New Year residence party (since you need to celebrate every single holiday possible with a party) I was doing the limbo, someone walked by and bumped my knee down resulting in a torn meniscus and broken cartilage on my knee. I go back to my dorm thinking all is fine the next morning my knee is the size of a cantaloupe. An ambulance team had to take me to the hospital....any way I got the nickname Limbo! Even before my surgery all the doctors were laughing at my story.

  • @kbrown2385 I can't believe your MIL did that, I have an aunt like that who is just FB trigger happy haha.

@FyreFlyeRush I think it's up to you if you want to take the meds. If you feel you are getting enough food and water and not getting dehydrated then you can maybe stick it out?

@MrsJessS happy your scan went well! Enjoy your peddy, I really should go for one soon.

@marebear15 sorry you have to deal with the flooding, hopefully that get's resolved quickly!

  • @marebear15 we should! I am working on a gown for my friend to wear for labor then a dressing gown, swaddle and baby hat for when baby is born. And I’m crocheting a llama mobile for another friend. Which is going slowly because focusing on instructions is hard 😂

@biolprof that’s so sweet about the candies!

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k I’m so glad the scan went well!!!
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k I’m glad your 12 week scan went well. I hope the rest of us make it there successfully. If mine goes okay I’ll probably be crying and hugging every stranger at the dr’s office.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 9w 3d

    2. Previous loss(es)? A blighted ovum 2013

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I am still feeling like all food sounds awful, but only not queasy when I am eating.   Tea and coffee I cannot stomach in the morning.  I am on day 3 of a headache (even though I got past the initial caffeine withdrawal headaches).   H let me sleep in this morning and took the big kid to school (tomorrow is her last day!) and that was much needed.

    4. Any appointment updates?  Doo dee doo.... Still waiting on July 2nd.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? All of a sudden my belly looks about 5/6 months along.   I am huge.  Luckily I bought some looser shirts at the beginning of the pregnancy so I don't think it noticeable.

    6. Any milestones coming up?  Last week was when I discovered that the sac was empty and I started to miscarry 5 days later.   So I guess I passed that, but since I have no idea if there is a baby growing in there, I don't really feel like I am past it.

    7. GTKY: What is the craziest way you have been injured?   I am trying to think of something, but drawing a blank.  I haven't gotten  that hurt in my life.  But my middle daughter, last year at 3.5, broke her leg jumping off the side of our treadmill (which wasn't even plugged in).   It's such a little jump compared with other things she jumps off, it was crazy.

  • **TW**

Found out this morning at my 12 week scan that the baby no longer had a heartbeat and it stopped growing around 10 weeks... must have been shortly after my 10 week checkup where the OB and I listened to a strong and healthy heartbeat with the fetal doppler. My DH and I are devastated.
So this is my 2nd mmc, back-to-back with no successful pregnancies yet.  I'm mostly angry and determined - I want to learn what I can do to improve my odds in the future, and that will be my upcoming focus.  D&C is scheduled for tomorrow and then I will undergo some testing over the next few months. Hoping to be back on the horse by October.

Wishing everyone the safe, healthy, and happy pregnancies that you all 110% deserve ♡♡
  • @ruby0902 I am so sorry you are going through this again. Take care of yourself. I wish you nothing but the best and hope you get your rainbow soon ❤️. When you’re ready I highly recommend checking out the TTGP (trying to get pregnant) board and the TTCAL thread. The ladies there are so wonderful and supportive.
  • @ruby0902 - I'm so so sorry. Be gentle with yourself. I also would recommend the TTCAL thread in the TTGP board. Those ladies were so helpful to me.
  • @ruby0902 I am so sorry that you are facing this again back to back. I hope the testing will bring you some peace of mind at that you get your rainbow soon. Like mentioned above, I recommend the TTCAL and TTGP thread's, they really helped when I was going through my losses and TTC.
  • @ruby0902 I am so very sorry for your loss.

    1. How many weeks are you? 9w5d

    2. Previous loss(es)? 10 weeks 11/12

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally I'm a wreck. I had some spotting earler this week. My loss began with spotting at 9w6d so I'm really worried about it happening again.

    4. Any appointment updates? My next appointment isn't until July 11th.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Not really!

    6. Any milestones coming up? 10 weeks/my 12 week appointment

    7. GTKY: What is the craziest way you have been injured?  I stepped wrong out of my front door and tore some ligaments in my foot last year!

  • @ruby0902 oh, that is heartbreaking. I’m so sorry this is happening. Hugs to you.

@motherof3dragons I hope the spotting is nothing. I’ve had spotting before miscarriages and spotting at 10 weeks with my daughter, so you never know. Can you move up your u/s?

  • I’ve been  MIA. SO SICK. I can barely function the nausea hit me so hard and being online makes it 10x worse. We were in Florida the past week at Disney and I threw up a majority of the trip.

    1. Between 9-10 weeks

    2. Ectopic 9/16 mmc 4/17  one rainbow baby born 5/19 ❤️

    3. See above. So nauseous. emotionally umm, I’m not really attached to this pregnancy yet. It’s hard to believe it might work out because it took 3 losses before we got a successful pregnancy 🤷🏼‍♀️

    4. I have my intake appointment tomorrow. My practice calls it a “pregnancy confirmation”. It’s not as bad as a viability scan but close.

    5. Just got back from Disney. We definitely had some magical moments and some meltdowns.

    6. A good appointment tomorrow would be great. I had my mmc around this time. 9 weeks 😔

    7. I played roller derby and broke my leg and needed surgery.
  • @justsuzie unbearable nausea is the absolute worst, but it’s a great sign you’re feeling that bad this far along! My nausea has greatly improved, which freaks me out. I’m hoping it’s partly because the placenta is taking over, partly because I lost a twin and maybe the extra hormones are dropping, and partly because I’m taking half a unisom at night. All I can do is feel my stomach obsessively and wait. Fingers crossed for your u/s tomorrow!!

@ruby0902 I am so so so very sorry to hear this. Nobody deserves what you’re going through.

@motherof3dragons Fingers crossed the spotting is nothing! It’s so incredibly hard to not freak out and I completely understand. I lost all of my pregnancy symptoms with my last miscarriage and now I’ve lost symptoms again with this pregnancy and I am around the same time I miscarried at 😩.

    1. How many weeks are you? 9w0d DD 1/23/20

    2. Previous loss(es)? Missed Miscarriage on 2/19/19. Went in for my 12 week scan and found out that baby stopped growing at 9 weeks

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I had nausea and extreme breast tenderness up until about week 8, then it subsided but was still slightly there. Today, my symptoms COMPLETELY went away so I’m freaking out a bit, especially since this is the same time the baby stopped growing last time. My boobs even feel deflated. So, emotionally I’m a wreck right now.

    4. Any appointment updates? I did get a quick scan on Monday at 8w4d and everything was fine, with a strong HB ...but that was 3 days ago so of course that’s not helping my nerves now haha. My first OB appointment is July 1.

    5. Rants Raves/Questions? I hate that sometimes symptoms (spotting, cramping, loss of symptoms) can be completely normal OR a sign of the worst! I’m trying to force myself to remain positive but its been hard today. Sorry for all the negativity 😞

    6. Any milestones coming up? Yes, if I get past this week.

    7. GTKY: What is the craziest way you have been injured? Hmmm...the only time I’ve ever been seriously injured was when I was 13 when I broke my foot jumping on the trampoline!
  • @ruby0902 I'm so sorry you are going through this <3
  • @ruby0902 I’m so sorry this happened. My heart breaks for you. Please take time for yourself.

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k glad you had such a great scan!

@motherof3dragons FX that the spotting goes away.

    1. How many weeks are you? 10w3d

    2. Previous loss(es)? DD’s twin 2/17

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally I continue to be weepy and have zero fuse. Physically I have felt mostly better this week compared to last week, so PGAL brain is in overdrive.

    4. Any appointment updates? July 10 is way too far away.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Did anyone else start feeling more normal week 10? I’m trying not to freak out but I’m fighting back tears even writing this.

    6. Any milestones coming up? At July 10 appt if all goes well I’ll have the panorama test.

    7. GTKY: What is the craziest way you have been injured? Lord, I’ve had a lot of injuries. Most are sports-related. The craziest was in the final of a CrossFit competition when I was doing pull ups and slipped off the bar, fell backwards, and smashed the index finger knuckle of my hand by falling on it. Almost cracked my skull, too, but I managed to fall into the lap of a lady who was sitting behind the rig, so she cradled my head and probably kept me from having a bad concussion!
  • @EmilyE13 my symptoms are improving at 10 weeks. I believe that’s how it went with my daughter, but it still freaks me out. This is baby #6 for me and I only have one child, so it’s hard for me to believe it will work out. Let’s hope the next couple weeks go quickly, our scans go well and we can relax a little.

  • @carrieandr Thank you! My fingers are crossed for all of us. I was just over on our June Symptoms thread and it was actually reassuring seeing several ladies mentioning feeling better around week 10. I know it’s silly but hearing anyone else have similar symptoms or lack thereof helps me not feel quite as terrified.
  • @EmilyE13 it makes sense for symptoms to ease around week 10 as the placenta takes over and so you don't need as much HCG to make progesterone. The theory is the HCG is what makes the nausea so it makes sense but I totally get being freaked out. I dreamed last night that I started bleeding bright red clotty blood and woke up terrified and had to run to the bathroom to make sure. Uggh!
  • @biolprof, thank you, smart science lady! That definitely makes sense. And don’t get me started on crazy scary pregnancy dreams. Mine last night was a raging, nuclear explosion-related fire that burned down the neighborhood. That’s what I get for watching Chernobyl. 😳
  • @EmilyE13 wow that's intense! I think I might aviod that show while pregnant!
  • gncfg8  this must be a tough couple of weeks for you.  Stay strong.

@Mother0fDragons I spotted the first 16 weeks with my daughter. It is so scary.  They can put a man on the moon but they can't determine the cause of unknown spotting in pregnancy.
