  • I just did some googling.... Google says "most" moms-to-be will experience their belly button popping out! MOST?!?! Also, SOMETIMES THEY DON'T GO BACK IN?!?!

  • @quidditchcapn1120, I'm sorry about the unfortunate timing of my post right before what you posted 😬 😂 I'm sure your popped belly button is adorable! I just have weird self-confidence issues about mine that's my own issue and hang-up.
  • @galentine I have the same irrational fear about the bellybutton popping out! I inspect it daily. That said, it appears to just be getting deeper and wider, which is also very freaky looking. So not sure there's a win here.  :D
  • @cmbt2 good luck today!!  Hope it all works out well for DS.  And 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 For all that sleep!  Hope it helps that nasty cold!

@galentine my belly button has no longer been a “innie” for a couple of weeks and I’m still weirded out by it.  😳

@geminigirl16 good luck at with your presentation!!
  • @cheznet @galentine @prpl11butterfly mine has started to become disturbingly flatter and wider too. Do we think if it pops it ever goes back to the same shape?!
  • Hahaha! The belly button issues are hilarious to me for some reason. @galentine that gif is exactly me for like the last 2 months. For some reason I'm constantly poking at it, and @prpl11butterfly my DS is all about it too if he notices when my shirt rises above it. He pokes it quite roughly actually, lol. But @cheznet you're so right, I actually enjoy the fact that it's easier to clean. I normally have such an innie that I have to use a q-tip 😂😂😂

  • @emily1052 and @junebabyh Thank you, ladies! I love doing this kind of thing, and it makes me happy.

For those worried about the belly button not returning to normal, you can try doing what my mom did to my older sister when she was a baby (in 1968). My sister had an outtie and my mom used masking tape over a quarter to entice it to go back in. It always made me laugh, but it worked! 😄

@galentine lol I know that feeling! Mine never popped last time but it came dangerously close...it mostly just became flat instead of actually going in at all. I'm curious if it'll pop out this time!! I can already faintly see my linea nigra which I haaaaaate and it seems entirely too early!
  • @meagan-t I am quite the dyi-er but I leave plumbing to the professionals!  Which is now you, you are the professional!!  👍🏻😂
  • Hey ladies!! It’s been a super busy month for us!! I quit my job and my husband is going back full time to his old job lol we’ve been slowly working on getting our house ready for new baby so we’ve stayed busy. In this process we went to dr to check on baby girl. She said I have low lying placenta but it shouldn’t affect much since this will be repeat csection. I got back in one more week to check on placenta, check on baby and do Glucose test. In the meantime I have fallen down 3 stairs and lost a toenail then while trying to replace our floors this week I fell in the open vent hole that I absolutely knew was there. I’m good and so is sweet baby lol I’m a very clumsy person 🤦‍♀️  Anyways was just checking in to let y’all know how my crazy month has been so far!! Hope everyone else is doing great!!
  • @prpl11butterfly love the outfits and the story behind them makes it even more special 😭❤️
  • @galentine all this belly button talk has me chuckling. My belly button is the depth of the Grand Canyon, it’d take at least two babies in there to pop it.
@cmbt2 I’m so happy your appointment went well!!!
    @prpl11butterfly that’s so sweet 😍

They didn’t fight it at all. Phew! We’re all very relieved the school saw that it’s necessary to retain things as is

@galentine mine is distinctly out for months now, but it’s not because of pregnancy- I have an umbilical hernia thanks to diastisis. Fun times (which occurs in about 30%ish of pregnancies)
My 6 year old is going in for an umbilical hernia surgery on Wednesday. Well, he thinks that’s what it is, once he does the procedure he’ll know if its and epigastric hernia.
Will you need to get yours fixed? I’m terrified of her going under 😕

  • I'm not looking forward to my belly button popping either. But mostly because of how sensitive mine gets after!
  • I have a partial-outie belly button all the time so mine is 100% popped 😳 I thought about trying to tape it down or something but decided just to rock it.

@prpl11butterfly I LOVE those onesies and the beautiful story behind them!
  • @prpl11butterfly the onesies are the cutest and the back story made me tear up a bit. So very sweet. @Meagan-t your hummingbird story was just as touching.
@perfectlove09 my little guy has an umbilical hernia too. They thought it would shrink but it hasn't budged in the last year. He's only 20 months so they won't do anything about it right now, but I'm curious if there is any reason they are doing surgery for your daughter's or is it just a course of action due to her age? Are there always complications if they remain herniated?

  • @cooaladolly hers popped up shortly after birth. I want to say 3-5 months old. Her ped said they almost always correct themselves by the time they turn 3-4 years old. Well hers didn’t and he said she’d have to have it fixed. We got it checked last year but didn’t have insurance and the surgeon said as long as it didn’t give her problems we could wait for insurance again.  Well we have it now so we’re doing it.

We’ve been told that if it goes I corrected it will become an issue. It can get incarcerated I think is what they said. Which I may be remembering this wrong but I think it’s a build up of fat or muscle behind it that eventually cuts off circulation to the hernia. If that happens it turns purple can rupture. (Yuck)

hers does hurt occasionally but mostly if she’s coughing a lot and now if she runs. She does have asthma too so I wonder if her catching her breath while running is what’s bothering her.

Long story ℓσℓ but I hope your little guy is able to correct it on his own. 💜
its apparently a relatively easy and quick procedure , I just worry about the general anesthesia.

  • @cmbt2 hope you're feeling better soon 💚 and I'm glad DS1's review went well and he's able to receive summer sessions!
@stephanie123456 ohmygosh those berries look amazing!
@prpl11butterfly that's such a sweet story! And the onesies are adorable 😍

Possibly 🤷🏼‍♀️ They’ll know better once I start PT for the diastisis

@perfectlove09 we put DS2 under back in March for tonsils/adenoids. It was way harder on us than him. He doesn’t remember any of it, but I’m not going to lie, I’m still pretty traumatized by it.

  • @perfectlove09 I appreciate the long story! They said the same about DS but I couldn't remember what the big deal was about just leaving it alone if it didn't fix itself. That makes sense though. Hope everything goes perfectly smoothly with DD! For the record I'd be a bit nervous about the anesthesia too, but I'm sure she'll be absolutely fine!

  • @jenferlee82 @emily1052 Thanks for the positive thoughts! She was overall pretty fine with my presentation thankfully, a bit of reworking and practice to do, and then the actual presentation is on Wednesday. I’ll be relieved when it’s over with!

I find the belly button talk amusing! Mine stayed in last pregnancy and I have a feeling it’ll be the same again this time. Mine must be deep!! :)

On a random note, we are headed to FIL’s today for Father’s Day and man, am I not feeling it!! I wish I could stay home but that sadly won’t fly.

Just popping in quickly to say hi!! This week has been so busy and I've been so tired I haven't had a chance to catch up. I'll try to read through more threads tonight. I did an extra day of clinicals (1 make up day for when I go out with baby) so I was at the hospital for 50 hours this week on top of studying. Sent DH to take DD1 to gymnastics this morning so I can study. Life is so hectic right now, but doing well other than just tired. Hope everyone is feeling well and hanging in there. I feel like my belly and my appetite have grown so much these last 2 weeks or so!!
Same!! I feel like a bottomless pit no matter how much I eat some days.
