Was lurking and saw someone ask about instructional videos. My RE gave me this website: www.freedommedteach.com and it has been really helpful. They have several different injection instruction videos by medication type. Good luck to you all!

I went back in this morning. Things looking good. They added cetrotide to my dosage now, so three shots starting tonight! Same dosage for Gonal F and Menopur (225/225). I had 5 on the left (6.6,8.3,10.5,10.9,11.2,12.3) & 9 on the right (8.9,9.7,9.8,9.9,10.0,10.3,10.8,11.1,12.4). I think I only have 4 shots of cetrotide, so I guess that means I only have 4 days of stims left to do before trigger?? If so...that puts me at 12 days of stims total.

Based on all the reading I have done on people's eggs vs. what they actually get in the end, I am hopeful that 15 follicles can mean 15 or potentially a few more eggs in which my hope is that 12-13 are mature, 9-10 fertilize, 5-6 make it to day 5 and 1-3 are normal!! Please God!!

@ladyp0tter that's awesome! Hope you get lots of eggs to start!

AFM, I've got 15 on the left, 10 on the right (they counted only the large ones instead of all). Estrogen and progesterone are in good spots. Meds are staying the same at 75 menopur, 75 Gonal-F, 5 lupron. I go back in 1 more time on Sunday! I think I am right on track for a Tuesday ER!!

@inthewoods23 So excited for you!! I am hoping for next Thursday - Friday for ER! You have LOTS of follies (surely thanks to your age)...I am hoping that you get some great mature ones and that we can all get great success stories from our ladies here this month!!

@ladyp0tter well it helps that the issues causing us to need IVF don't lie with me. All my tests have come back normal besides my saline sono which was abnormal. My RE said she wouldn't do a transfer if my ute looked like that for my FET. I have a repeat saline sono in the next cycle to see if my lining builds better. Frankly I think the 2x 18 days of BC after being off it for 2 years probably messed things up in there. I asked if that actually can cause problems with implantation and she said they don't know. Considering I haven't even had a CP, implantation is probably not our issue. I think our issue is related to DH's sperm and it's ability to fertilize and get an embryo to develop. Late next week will probably be me in AnxietyTown all day until we get our results at day 5.

Can someone explain how all that will work? I know we are told how many eggs are retrieved after the ER. I'm assuming the information flows like this:
-Later in the day of the ER we'll know how many are mature
-same day or next day(?) know how many fertilized
-update of number at day 5

Anybody have any ideas? I could probably look at the packet of info from my RE if I can find it. But I'm curious if other's have a different timeline of finding out egg/sperm/embryo status.

Our donor egg cycle PGS results came in today and only one of five embryos were normal. We are devastated. $40,000 spent and only one chance. I have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, etc. I am so afraid this one wont work. I needed more than one chance. I cannot believe for a proven donor with five previous cycles that this happened. Our doctor thinks it was just a “bad batch”, but I dont know. Just a year ago she had good results. I am still thinking back to the fact that the last ultrasound was done four days before retrieval. It felt too long. But I cant prove anything. This is just horrible.

My ER is officially schedule for Tuesday! I can stop stims and do only the trigger tonight.

The RN said my levels are high so they're having me only trigger with 5000 units instead of the usual 10,000 and they are also having me take a medication 1x for the next 8 days starting today that will also help prevent me from developing OHSS.

Now I just hope I can make it through the work day tomorrow!

@inthewoods23 That's so exciting. I hope that tomorrow flies by for you! Unfortunately I'll be on stims until at least Monday. They were guessing ER sometime between Thurs-Sun for me. FX that everything goes well for your ER!

I have my first appt tomorrow for monitoring.
6 days of Follistim & Menopur haven't been that bad. Definitely a little bloated, but no headaches or soreness.

What are the odds of our first cycle working? I have no issues, it's all sperm-related....starting to get my hopes up.

@inthewoods23, YAY, I'll be checking in tomorrow to see how your ER goes!! My ER should be Friday at this point. They just changed me to a 2 stage Lupron trigger instead of Ovidrel shot. I have I guess a lot of follicles from what she said - 18 today - (so surprised) and she mentioned being worried about OHSS too, so that is a bit scary! I'm hoping your lining looks great this go round! I haven't heard what my lining looks like yet, but with FET in July, they probably won't look at mine until after ER. As for the schedule...that looks about right. Mine don't do 3 day updates since they aren't doing fresh transfers. Mine say we will know before we leave how many eggs were retrieved. 24hrs for fertilized result and 5 days for blasts and then not 100% sure when we find out the PGS results (I guess about a week?).

@casey301, I am so sorry! I am nervous about that as well at my age!! All it takes is one though! I am hoping it is a quality one for you and sticks!! I feel your pain as I need the quantity in order to make even 1-2 normal frosties!!

Had my Monday follow up this morning and they show 18 follicles!! WOW! so excited and just pray they all grow steady. Some are a bit smaller, but with Trigger likely Wed night, all should be over 15mm (smallest is 10.0 right now, largest at 17.7. I am just hopeful that they catch them in time and that we can collect at least that many!! I need the numbers as it is a quantity game AS WELL AS quality game at my age!!

@ladyp0tter sounds like we are in very similar boats! They have been checking my lining thickness during the appts last week, but that probably doesn't matter when we're not doing a fresh transfer.

Any recommendations on what I should bring to the clinic with me besides comfy clothes? Should I leave most other comfort items at home?

@inthewoods23 - I didn't get instructions from the clinic that will be doing the ER, but I read it is only about a 30-minute procedure then I would be in "recovery" for 1-2hrs. Then my DH can take me home. I doubt I will want to do anything coming off anesthesia so I will wing it and just nap! ha! I rarely get those, so that will be nice. LOL!

Just had my day 6 appt, they didnt tell me how many follicles I had, and only counted those that were sized 10+....I think I had about 4 on left and 3 on right, currently. Nurse said that I had more, but they weren't size 10 yet....I'm kind of freaking out! We need more eggs than that!
I start Ganirellix tomorrow morning and continue Follistim and Menopur nightly, tho they increased my Follistim from 150ml to 225ml....follow up appt on Fri....they're thinking trigger on Saturday and ER on Monday....I'm still feeling down about the egg count

Anyone else have this issue?

@covergirl2985 They did that with my 3rd monitoring appointment - only counting the larger ones. That doesn't mean the smaller ones won't produce eggs! They may catch up to the others, you never know!

@ladyp0tter yep they told me it takes about 15 minutes with an hour of recovery before they discharge you.

My ER went great this morning! Still a little on the woozy side, but that'll get better with time today. My cramping was fairly normal - about the same as my cramping during AF. As for eggs, we were fortunate to get 24 eggs this morning! I should hear back from them pretty soon as to how many are mature! Hoping the count stays up!

@covergirl2985 - I wouldn't worry yet. I know...easier said than done! I started out with 9, then by yesterday (day 10) I had 18 follicles 10mm up. I only had 12 at day 6 and only two were bigger than 10mm. At day 8 they were between 6-12 (had 14). Yesterday at day 10, there were 18 follicles ranging from 9.7-17!! I have two more days of stims and then ER on Friday! You still have time and I have seen many women on here who doubled their follicles from day 1 to day 10/12!

Fertilization update - of the 17 mature eggs, 15 have fertilized. FIFTEEN!!! I can't believe we have so many cooking! I'll get a day 3 update on Friday.

How is everyone else doing? I think we have a few with ERs still this week right?

@inthewoods23 - WOW! Amazing! I am soooo happy for you! I'll be praying for MANY good embryo's for you!!

AFM...My ER got moved to Saturday now, so one more night of stims then trigger on Thursday night. As of this morning, I still had 18 follicles and they are mostly 15-21mm now, so I am guessing the other few that were 10-11mm may or may not be mature. I am hoping they find a few more in there and then at least get 10-15 mature ones in the end.

I'm late to this party because AF showed up 5 days before I was expecting it so IVF is happening in June not July!

This is my second IVF, my first was in January 2018. Had two 3-days and two 5-days. I did a fresh transfer with a 3-day that failed and then a FET that was successful.

I know what you're thinking, you had 4 embryos and you only used two of them, why are you doing IVF again. Well long story short (can't go into it) but there was a tank malfunction and I lost my two remaining embryos so here I am!

AF started today and I go in tomorrow for my baseline! If the stim timeframe works out like my first retrieval, I expect that it will be on the 26th which also happens to be my birthday! We're planning to skip the fresh transfer this time and go straight to a FET which will probably be the last week of July or the first week of August!

So I have been quiet because I was disappointed in my second ER results - 10R/8M/6F. Both ERs I have had exactly as many eggs as follicles they are measuring so that's interesting - no surprise extra eggs for me!
But today I got the call (well, I called, I couldn't wait any more it was 2:45 pm here) and as of day 5 we have 3 already in the freezer and 2-3 more that will probably make it tomorrow! I'm so happy! Our first cycle we had only 1 that we transferred day 5 and one made it to freeze the next day. This was out of 7 so I was sad we were already starting with a lower number. Now the next hurdle - PGS which I won't know for 7-10 days from tomorrow.

My day 3 update:
Out of the 15 fertilized eggs, 12 have come back in the normal range of cell numbers for day 3. TWELVE. I feel like I shouldn't be this lucky. The embryologist said that the remaining 3 are actually still growing, but slower than they should be so they'll still watch them. So technically, we still have all 15 incubating. I thought we'd end up in the single digits!

@mrsjones91716 that's great that you have more this time around!

@marfi236 good luck on your ER later this month! I'd be so mad in your position! Like dammit I want this ER for free because your equipment broke! Of course it doesn't work that way, but that would be a dream!

I put this in the May IVF, but I guess most ppl are over here now, so I'll post it here.
I'm looking at going forward with the whole IVF deal, but I'm questioning the contract. After a lot of going back and forth with the clinic. The one outstanding question/concern I have is if there are no embryos that make it to the 5 day blast or pass PGS testing they will not refund the FET fee of $4500. Is that normal????

@31magnolia, that does seem weird. Every clinic is different, but mine offers if they don’t get you pregnant with the first egg retrieval cycle the next cycle is discounted the $6,550 physician fee. And the first round pricing includes one fresh or frozen transfer. So basically if you had 2 embryos from your first egg retrieval the first transfer is included in the fees you already paid and then if it doesn’t work you have to pay for the next transfer. But then if that doesn’t work and you have to do another we that’s when the discount comes in. It’s not much but it’s something.

Hi everyone. I feel so uninformed and I'm just hoping for a good outcome. I started Lupron 6/7, Follistim & Menopur 6/9, and Ganirelix 6/13. My first 2 monitoring appts were off site, but 6/10 I had 19 follicles and endometrium thickness of 4.5mm. 6/13 they didn't count the total, but measured 12 mm and 9 mm for the largest on each side with an endometrium of 6.6mm. The Dr said I'm on track and I have a monitoring appointment Monday with the actual IVF Dr. He does his own ultrasounds so I will get a better idea of what I have. Does this all sound about right to everyone here? This is my first round and I honestly didn't want to overload myself with information and cause stress. I'm 34 and DH is 36. I have PCOS. Good luck ladiess

@eb112 I had 3 appts every other day (MWF) with the nurses doing the measurements. Then I came in 1 more time on Sunday with the RE and she made the call on when to trigger (which I did that night) and had my ER this past Tuesday.

You get monitored a lot to make sure you're on the right dosage. I believe this also helps with keeping the follicles around the same size (don't quote me on that though). After my Monday appt I was told to drop my Gonal-F from 125 to 75 as I was responding a bit too well so the growth compared to my estrogen wasn't where they wanted it.

I saw things moved over to the June board..not sure if any late May's followed over yet. I a 2day fresh transfer on June 8th and decided to test on Father's Day and I knew it was not the best idea. I really struggle with seeing those evap lines on the First Response test...too many mind games. I'm sure it's negative but the fact you see something there messes with you. I even opened an unused one for comparison and you can clearly see the test line. I was really hoping for a miracle with this cycle being its my last attempt. This was a journey I would not wish on anyone, it's only for the strong that's for sure.

@lemondrop1976 I hear you on the - not the best day to test/get news - today.

They've biopsied and frozen 3 of our embryos. All the others are behind (she didn't indicate that any had stopped growing) 😔. She will provide a final update tomorrow if more catch up and are ready for freezing. But for her to say only 3 was not the kind of drop I was expecting today.

Kind of makes me go "well no f***ing wonder we've gotten nothing for 2 years. They don't develop well after day 3." Hope we get a few more frozen tomorrow.

@inthewoods23 I am in the same boat with the embryos not passing 3-4 days. My current RE transfers day2-3 so mine always have looked great on transfer day but they cycles always fail, kinda like false hope but supposedly the odds of them surviving in uterine is higher than not which explains why..even though I have not experienced proof of that yet...

Hey y’all...so I triggered last night at 8pm. ER is scheduled for Tuesday at 8am.
Ive been taking Cetrotide every morning for 4 days. It prevents ovulation. Should I take it Monday morning as well? Isn’t that counterproductive? I can’t get a hold of my RE office yesterday so I’m bringing the shot to work in case I have to take it.
i also have 1 vial of menopur left. Do I take that tonight?

Hi ladies, lots of stuff going on these last few days!

@covergirl2985, I would definitely wait for your dr. to tell you. Mine gave me instructions after every appointment so I knew exactly what to take when. Good idea to bring it with you. I did NOT take any stim meds the day of and after my trigger and my last cetrotide was the night before trigger.

@inthewoods23, Don't get disappointed yet! 3 is still a good number, I know coming from such a high number, that seems like a huge drop, but the others wouldn't have likely made it anyway, so it is "survival of the fittest".

@lemondrop1976, I am so hoping your lines get more pronounced!! We all deserve our miracles!

@31magnolia, our contract says the PGS is for 1 year testing 8 embryos, so however many times I need to use it throughout the year, to get to 8. Once I use 8, I pay PER embryo.

AFM...I had ER on Saturday and they retrieved 24 Eggs! of those 20 fertilized. I didn't get the mature count, so not sure if the other 4 were not mature or just didn't fertilize. I am praying that I get at least 1/2 that making it to PGS testing! She said they would call on Wednesday to update me and discuss testing based on how many make it! My last U/S showed 18 follicles, so I was blessed with a few hidden eggs! I will continue tonight with my acupuncture and legs up the wall routine. They want me to call when my period starts so I can begin the progesterone and estrogen patches. My lining was at 11 tri when they looked last week, so I am hopeful that we can get it that good again in July for my FET.

@ladyp0tter nice! I must say I am glad I have been getting updates every other day. I know some people who have said they get told how many fertilize or are mature and don't hear anything until they find out how many day 5/6 embryos they have. That would drive me crazy!

I expect a call later this morning on another update. Hopefully we get a few more to freeze 🙂 then it's time to worry how many will be normal.

@31magnolia I ended up doing a shared risk program so I'm not sure what is normal for other options but I would have a problem with that too. I hope things get worked out soon.

@covergirl2985 My last cetrotide was taken the morning of my trigger injection. After I triggered I didn't take any more stims or cetrotide. I hope that your RE gets back to you and lets you know what to do, I know how nerve wracking it is with wanting to make sure you do everything just right. Sending you all the positive thoughts for tomorrow. I hope everything goes well!

I had my ER on Saturday and they got 16 eggs. 13 were mature and fertilized out of the 16. I should be getting a call tomorrow to let me know how they are progressing. I'm very pleased with the number they got but just worried because I know that there can be a steep drop off as they develop into blasts. Just trying to stay positive though.

@Knottie1468345322 @ladyp0tter @littleredm - Thanks. it sounds like every clinic is very different. I don't know what to do. I like the doctor, but it's $10K for the egg retrieval & fertilization, $2750 clinic admin fee for PGS ( required and for 1 year for up to 10 embryos), and then $4500 for the first frozen embryo transfer, $2500 for the second (if the first one fails) and then every transfer after that is free for a year until I get pregnant. BUT if I don't have any embryos that make to 5 day blast OR pass PGS testing, then I don't get $4500 refunded or transferred. To me, if nothing passes 5 day blast or PGS testing then technically the transfer didn't fail and I shouldn't pay the $4500. Meds are separate.

@31magnolia, Happy to see someone else at the same timeline as me! The dropoff from here to day 5 is the first scary part, then the PGS test results! I hope they can get however many blasts tested before the clinic closes for 2weeks...otherwise, the wait will be torture!!
