One night at dinner on vacay for some reason my MIL was going on about how DS looooooves the CFA waffle fries. My SIL then went into a mini-tirade about CFA’s politics. And my first thought was...why the f*ck are you feeding my kid fast food?!?!
@lillywonderland We used to be a Toyota family, but after problem after problem with our 4Runner, we are now a Subaru fam. I'll never go back. I LOVE our outback. Plus their commercials kill me. The dog family ones especially 😭.
@kgg2241 oh man, that’s awful! It’s a bummer getting a vehicle that ends up being nothing but issues. Hopefully when @lillywonderland and I get one we won’t have issues!

Y'all are making me want waffle fries something fierce! 🤣
Also, kinda debating saying F it to the glucose test. My metabolism has always been wonky and being pregnant isn't helping much. I'm also worried that if I "fail" it and I'm supposed to go on some special diet that I will get psycho about food again.
@cheshyre319 I’d definitely be open and honest with your doctor about your concerns and what failing it could mean for your mental health/relationship with food. I don’t believe you can skip the test all together because it has to do with your placenta’s functioning, not just your regular metabolism, but he/she can definitely find ways to soften the blow if it’s an issue and help you not be on an epically restrictive diet.
I thought I was guaranteed to have it last pregnancy (and this one they tested me at 10 weeks, and will do so again in 4 weeks) and so far I’ve been fine. Last week my doctor made a big deal about my weight, yet again, and I finally advocated for myself and informed her about my rocky past relationship with food/dieting and how much work I’ve done to repair that relationship and get to a mentally healthy place, so her trying to limit me to only gaining 10 pounds this pregnancy and acting shocked that I’ve gained 15 pounds was NOT helping. Luckily she was receptive and quieted down quickly.
@lillywonderland@kgg2241 I just bought a 2018 4Runner last year and I love it so far! I had a hand-me-down 2003 version several years ago, then switched to an accord once it had 250K miles on it. My 2003 model seemed to have a little more pep, but it was a V8 and they don't make V8s anymore. So far I love it, but I was back and forth between the Subaru too! I don't think you can go wrong either way
I was late to work today because I HAD to stop at Walmart for Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I haven’t had it since I was little, but what baby wants baby gets
@duewithpu2 now that you are sharing your love of CTC, I can share my cereal secret: I love hot nestle quick (with milk) with Kellogg’s cornflakes. The combo of hot chocolate with Kellogg’s is out of this world. Yes, aware of the
@dinosaur and @sunshine2417 ditto!!!! Salad is just a vehicle. Like chips for guacamole.
I feel like this thread is my personal confessional...
I ate an entire pint of Ben & Jerrys in one sitting on Saturday afternoon. The bad part is, it wasn't even that good. DH got it for me and I started eating it to be polite... and then it was gone.
Also, I know this is somewhat controversial, but I'm really starting to want a glass of wine. DH is pretty adamantly against it, but I'm not too worried about a random glass from here on out... But it makes me feel dirty and sneaky cuz I'll probably drink one some evening when he's not going to be around.
@RedBreast35 Scientifically speaking, 1 glass of wine isn’t going to harm unborn LO, especially at this stage of your pregnancy - all the organs are essentially formed, they’re just “practicing” real life functions right now.
Also, I love reading what ya’ll are all eating. I had a gigantic mint chocolate chip waffle cone this weekend. It was delicious, but DS ate 90% of the delectable waffle cone. Wtf, progeny?!
@RedBreast35 100% with you on the glass of wine. Esp as we start to spend more time on the boat and everyone is drinking... I probably won't though, because I'm a big pansy.
@duewithpu2 UGH! The torture of the cone smell! I love how random your dinner was. I need to grocery shop so last night I put together a dinner of peanut butter toast and a bowl of rice krispies cereal and cantaloupe.
@duewithpu2 yeah, I think it's fairly generally accepted that having a glass every once in a while isn't going to do any irreparable damage to LO at this point. But it's definitely a comfort level thing- and some people just aren't and that's fine too! @lillywonderland I had 5 glasses of wine with pregnant with DS (yes, I counted and remember exactly, lol) and he turned out A-OK if I do say so myself. @nomangos23 your dinner sounds remarkably like mine last night! Except replace Rice Krispies with Apple Jacks
@RedBreast35 I split a can of cider with my husband last week, and it was hard not to be sad that I had agreed to share. But it was really tasty and at this point, I think it is a just about comfort level.
@sunshine2417 My go to drink at starbucks lately has been the mango dragonfruit refresher (without coconut milk) and I love it! Add a warmed up coffee cake and my morning is set!

Re: What my pregnant self is eating
Priorities, man.
In my defense, I brought a salad to work for lunch, but had to run over to the hospital and was starving when I got out.
I also just just got a Subaru like 6 weeks ago and LOOOOOOVE it.
