Thanks for the kind words of support, ladies. Mental health plan is to take it one day at a time and focus on celebrating every kick and roll during this time of uncertainty. Upping my self-care a bit probably wouldn't hurt either.
@obsessedwithoranges that's wonderful news that the scan showed a healthy baby! And hooray for no more pelvic rest.
@mrsinterweb I'm right there with ya on the take it a day at a time philosophy. Remember that the majority of cases will resolve themselves with time, but I'm glad that they'll be keeping a close eye on you. My doc had wondered if it was swallowed blood too and I like the theory that yours proposed, so fingers crossed that's what it turns out to be. Be gentle with yourself and don't let that stress get a hold on you. Extra bubble baths, pedis and massages are in order!

@mrsinterweb Yes! Try to relax with every happy kick and roll. That's my plan too and it's helpful. Monitoring is good, and so many things resolve themselves. Take care of yourself and baby!
We had a follow-up yesterday and the good news is the bowel no longer appears echogenic. However, baby now appears to be growth restricted. Overall he is in 26th percentile for size, but his abdomen is only in the 5th percentile. So we will be starting growth scans every two weeks to monitor more closely. Even though we are still a bit worried, I’m looking at it as progress and I’ve got a lot of faith in my little guy who is kicking me all the time now. ☺️
P.s. I think I’ll revive the high risk check-in instead of continuing to update in this thread going forward.
@mrsinterweb I'm so glad LO is keeping you reassured in there. That's my strongest relaxer too. IUGR was one of my biggest fears as well since the most likely reason for the echogenic bowel, after ruling out the several other possibilities, was swallowed blood making me think it could be issue with the placenta, especially since it was low lying. Though the doc said she isn't really concerned, she moved me up a bit also to scans every 3 weeks. I'm hoping your LO will catch up in his growth rate, but very glad they're keeping a close eye on you and baby. Fingers crossed that things only get better from here.

@mrsinterweb congrats still and hopefully this extra monitoring will just be that! I for one would join in the high risk conversation, I have a growth check ultrasound in 2 weeks and keep wondering if my belly is "big enough"... Like that's any real indicator (sigh)
