Handmaid’s Tale Fans!

Okay I know we’ll be on FB soon but this needs to start now especially because we were bombed with three episodes right out of the gates. We can move this when it’s time. Let’s talk all things HMT!

People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

How I feel all of the time.

I was just telling my husband that I want to get caught up on this show. I watched season 1 then stopped after the second episode in season 2. I think it was just getting a little too intense for me at that point but I’m ready to come back!

I'm gonna be so pissed if they just like, curve ball us with this season. I need this season to be all about hardcore badass bitches. I can't handle another season like season 2. I'd be totally fine with handmaid's only being 3 seasons and this whole season be about June and Serena Joy burning Gilead down from the inside.

I JUST started watching season 1, and as I’m watching, I can’t decide if it’s a good or terrible idea to start this show 32 weeks pregnant. I’ll let y’all know when I catch up to currentness...

@heml I'll warn ya, season to will probably be rough. I had to take a break while watching it and I wasn't even pregnant. It was like a "break the damn tv and be irrationally angry at everyone" type of season lol. My friend also had to take a break. I think I ended up fully skipping two episodes and just reading recaps then picking back up a few episodes from the end of the season. But so far season 3 is worth the wait.

@heml I rewatched seasons 1 & 2 to get in the zone for 3, and I will say it was even harder to watch while pregnant than it was when I wasn't. There were a few episodes I had to turn off because it was *too* hard to watch.
I'm not LOVING S3 so far, but did love the ending monologue in the third episode.
Semi-related: did anyone else read about the Handmaids themed party Kylie Kardashian threw for her friend's birthday? What the actual fuck???

I debated watching while pregnant but of course gave in and am caught up. I’m also hoping for a season of some serious ladies kick ass and take down the system. Especially in light of everything going on in real life right now. I will say Junes relationship with the Waterford’s and now with her current commander is confusing to me. She seems to go from ally to enemy quickly with them. And I definitely can’t figure out this new commanders intentions...

I am not blown away by season 3 so far. I thought I was going to like commander lawrence more than I do.

**TW in December I though for sure I was having my thirs miscarriage and chose to binge watch seasons 1 and 2 then. My mental health was screwed anyway so how much worse could it get? Season 2 really would have been emotionally draining otherwise. End TW**

Late to comment on this because I was afraid of spoilers. I just got caught up on season 3. Seasons 1 and 2 were incredible... but I am finding season 3 to be quite boring.

@law_and_little1 I’m with you I’ve been a little bored this season as well. I’m hoping it picks up.

I also agree with @Beauxbaton I’d be fine with this being the last season if they pick it up and start destroying Gilead and embrace their badass sides.

I will say watching pregnant I’ve cried over stuff I wouldn’t have blinked at not being pregnant. A lot of the scenes with June and Hannah have been getting me.
