@RedBreast35 laughing out loud at your choice of gifs. So appropriate.
I'm sitting at the secretary's desk eating the red berry Special K with 0% milk that I bought from the lunch ladies and wishing I had cheese fries instead.
Sad day. Officially told to cut back the carbs. *grouch* Why you gotta take my pasta and bread?
Oh! Had a smoothie, healthy thing that was amazing, pineapple, mango, and yogurt with some protein powder. Is it ridiculous to be stalking blenders on Amazon and making a plan to convince DH that we *need* one?
@RedBreast35 I’m in the same boat! All the pants I wore through my pregnancy with DS are getting soooo tight. And that would normally make me super sad. But...ice cream.

@zuuls_mom, @RedBreast35 Are you guys more waaaaaay bigger this time around? Because I am legitimately looking like I was 32wks with DS when I am only 25wks now. Am I going to be a whale by the time 40wks rolls around?!?!
@themadcamel you don't need that kind of negativity in your life! Also, does that kind of "cheat" the test at all? Like are you getting an accurate result if you change things up from how you'd usually be eating? (I don't know if bodies really work like that, but just wondering.) Not that I'd want GD, but I'd definitely want to know for sure if I had it or not...
@lillywonderland so. much. bigger. People are commenting on it (thanks...) and I made the mistake of looking at my 40+4 picture last night and feel like I'm already a very similar size belly-wise. (I've got a little room to spare on the swollen ankles). Pretty sure at 7 weeks my abs were like:
@RedBreast35 What's crazy is that I have literally gained the same poundage week per week as when I was PG with DS. Apparently my body said "fuck it, let's make it roomy" around the same time as your abs walked out. I'm for sure curious about how all this works, because was DS like squished AF up in my ute? And baby girl is doing laps?!?
@lillywonderland oh girl, yes. I am so much bigger this time. I definitely look like I’m about 32 weeks but I’m only 26. I started a bit heavier and have gained more so far, so that’s not helping!
@themadcamel enjoy those! And I agree with @RedBreast35. I wouldn’t change how I eat so I can make sure I get accurate readings.

I don't have a previous pregnancy to compare to, but I swear my belly is so much bigger today than it was yesterday. Idk if baby is moving from back to front or what!
@lillywonderland I only made it to 21 weeks my first pregnancy but I am SO MUCH BIGGER than time. My first bump was so perfect and round and I still had a waist. This one is lumpy and bumpy and I haven't seen my waist (Or ass??) since like 18 weeks.
Found a big aversion today. I bought what I thought was a BLT chicken salad. It was actually Turkey not chicken. I don’t like turkey normally, but this was a whole new level. Instant gagging and lunch ruined 😭. This is what I get for trying to be healthy!
@themadcamel Completely agree no point in changing your diet before taking the test. Though I have suggested to myself that the morning I go in for the 1 hr I only eat protein for breakfast (mostly to make the drink less gaggy, though a protein only breakfast was something my OB suggested last time), and so haven't gone in to get it done yet because the first morning I could have I ate waffles for breakfast, and the other I ate actual oatmeal cookies. We'll see how I start off tomorrow.
@duewithpu2 does your ice craving just get overwhelming? Seems like a good, hydrating craving, instead of, like, french fries or Ben and Jerry's or something!
@RedBreast35 it will probably be very useful this summer, but it does get extreme! I have never been a smoker or anything, so I’ve never had an addiction, but man I swear I was addicted to ice last pregnancy. To the point of I would eat 4 giant cups of it a day. Had to have it at all times and of course home freezer ice is not the same lol. The people at the gas station were like “damn girl when are you popping that kid out?!”
I don't think you can skew the test. Some Drs say to carb load the week before, that way your body is used to making insulin. Some Drs say to watch the amount of carbs you eat leading up to it. I say, you do you. You either have it or you don't. But I would suggest not eating the carbs within 4-5 hours before the test.
Also, I will be eating all the carbs this weekend, as I just failed my 1 hr yet again and am pretty sure after I take the 3 hr I will be back to counting carbs. So I'm going to live it up while I can. I'm not too upset though, I need a reason to control whats going into my mouth because the twice weekly dairy queen trips are starting to show on the scale!
After doing the random testing I would say you can definitely skew it... But you may end up skewing it the wrong way depending on your body. Just eat the way you plan to and do. If you never ear carbs or sugar though your body isn't going to take kindly to that amount of sugar which if you plan to keep not eat carbs or sugar makes the test kind of moot but that's why some just test levels after meals instead.
@duewithpu2 I’ve never been a big ice person, but seeing that pic makes me want some something fierce. Also, haaayyyy fellow Subie mama! I have a 2019 Outback. Whatcha got?!

Is it me or do the Subaru commercials always make you guys cry, too? They are so family focused! We don’t have one, but I have asked DH about them on more than one occasion. It looks like we’re a Toyota family.
I’m trying to decide what to plan to eat before the glucose test next weekend. Bacon breakfast burritos have a god ratio of carbs to protein, right?! Because now I need one in my life.
@lillywonderland I'm a toyota owner too!! But I did look at Subarus because all of their commercials have dogs. I'm totally buying the advertising. and 100% yes to the bacon burrito!
@duewithpu2 I had a 2016 before this one (lease)! I love them so much. So cozy!
@lillywonderland we're a Subaru family for now (H has a 2015 Legacy), but his will be paid off in a month so he wants to get a 2020 4Runner TRD Pro. I could totally see us switching back and forth between Toyota and Subaru as we get older since both are great! And yes, the commercials have totally made me cry lol.

We're Toyota fans too but recently went to the dark side and switched to Honda and LOVE the CRV - total mom car.
Also just popped in to say I couldn't resist the urge and am currently eating Chick-fil-A nuggets and a vanilla milkshake. Politics aside, how is Chick-fil-A sauce just SO good?
@cammie0526 I'm all about the CFA sauces. When I get the sandwich I need both buffalo and ranch and when I have the nuggets I need buffalo, ranch and CFA sauce. I also sometimes enjoy dipping my fries in the Polynesian sauce. I am ridiculous lol.
