kpearse99 good luck! My DH didn't offer much at all to our initial consult. He couldn't remember how much time it took (or didn't take) to get pregnant with DS.. he had no idea about my cycles.. etc. He just basically was there and verbally agreed to do an SA. I'm excited for you!
@mercury94 are you being monitored for your clomid cycle by your OB? I ask because I have the option to wait and see if I ovulate on my own this next cycle (which could be 30-40 days) or I can take letrozole again and move that up. I wouldn't be monitored, but now after having a consult with the RE and knowing the $1,000 price tag (not including meds) of a monitored cycle... plus the hour drive each way and needing childcare for DS.. I'm willing to give it a little more time before committing to the RE.
@NYTino24 that's how I felt about taking the appointment when they called... like, I should get in as soon as possible, right?! I'm excited for you to go to your appointment and to hear how it went. Keep us posted!
@mokay19 I am on CD11 (out of 30) so ovulation should be arriving in about a week. I asked them if there was a certain/better time to be seen in my cycle and they said it didn't matter for this first visit... any insight?!
@flinstone-2 ha! That's pretty much how I envisioned my appointment going if DH was going to be there... just to nod and listen and look confused
Thanks everyone for the good luck wishes and words of encouragement, you are an amazing group of ladies and I'm grateful to be a part of this group! I'm getting really excited for 12:00 to arrive! I'll let you all know how it goes

I'm back!! First, let me say that I walked out with a sense of relief, like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders... just knowing there are steps and a plan! I feel like I can breathe again!
I answered a slew of questions and we talked about when I was pregnant with my son (which he called complicated... and I guess it was but it never felt that way at the time) **TW**
I had pregnancy induced hypertension starting at 8 months and was then put on bed rest. Was induced 4 days before my due date, because of the high blood pressure, and went through 30 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing and ended with a CS. We also talked about early MC we had back in November shortly coming off of my IUD. He said that my chances of getting pregnant and chances of a MC after an IUD were exactly the same as if I never had one... He basically reassured me that it wasn't anything I or MH did, that sometimes these things just happen.
He walked me through what our steps were... internal US today, blood work and another US between CD 2-4 of my next AF and then the HSG between CD 7-12. DH has to do a SA and then we will review the results. He said I'm a good candidate for clomid or letrozole but would prefer letrozole for me due to the increased chances of twins on clomid. He said that because I'm petite and had high blood pressure with my first pregnancy that my body appears to be designed to carry one baby at a time, so he wants to avoid twins as much as possible.
So we did the US and he said everything looked great! That my left ovary was producing 7-8 eggs for this current cycle and that my right ovary had 10 going and that they both looked perfect! I have a call with the financial person on Monday to review what is and isn't covered... I'm nervous about that call, as I have NO IDEA what to expect. Seems like all basic/simple testing but I have no clue what I'm in for, money wise.

@kpearse99 I did most of that testing through my OB last time and it wasn’t too expensive. Depends on the insurance I guess. I was quoted $600 for the HSG, but my insurance actually covered most of it and I only paid $60. (Also, I got KU the cycle I did the HSG as did multiple other women I know.)
@mercury94 that's awesome! The doctor did say that the HSG makes you more fertile... so sign me up! haha

@mercury94 i understand that. I did two femara cycles without monitoring and I confirmed ovulation through progesterone tests 7dpo plus temping. I'm not against not using monitoring at all. I just at this time don't know if I should let my body try on its own.
@flinstone-2 I’m not against the unmonitored cycles either. Definitely worked out for me last time. Just making it clear that (at least a few years ago) it was not a favored opinion. I can’t make an RE work. Would have to find the money to pay RE and then take off many work days for the 2 hour (each way) drive and figure out child care for DS. Glad I haven’t needed to take that step thus far.
mercury94 totally! That's why I'm putting the brakes on the RE situation. It's super expensive and we've only had 3 cycles.. 2 medicated and 1 natural so that's why I'm feeling I can wait a little bit. I want to make sure a need is pushing me rather than just impatience.
@mercury94 2 hours, both ways?!?! There's seriously no place closer to you?!

It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@kpearse99 do you by chance have keystone east? I think you said you were in the philly area, so I thought it could be possible. Keystone east covered ALL my testing, minus a couple copays. I think I’m out maybe $160 total after a couple consultations and a bunch of procedures (us, stp, hsg, hysteroscopy, biopsy, laparoscopy, and now meds). I hope you get lucky with your coverage too, and of course, with getting pg. and it’s crazy what the dr can put together that was there all along. Your pg does sound complicated, but I can totally see how you didn’t see it that way. With my testing, i ended up realizing that my periods’ being more painful since delivering dd was a big deal...I just figured that I didn’t remember how painful they were. Oh, hindsight and doctor insight.
Sidenote... I feel weird that I’ve been lurking this board for like a month now, but it’s always so hectic here, that I feel like I’m always too late to the game to post. Plus, with being benched I guess it’s not really useful to keep posting, but when I see testing stuff, I feel like it’s ok to jump in. Hope that’s cool. I feel extra weird after all that happened today just popping over. Sigh.
@begging4abump I don’t think anyone cares if you pop in and out of this thread... at least I don’t! I do the same. I’m usually here when I’m not sure if I’m in WTO or TWW and I don’t always do the formal check in either.

@begging4abump Do not feel weird about "lurking"... you belong here so you're not lurking!! Even if you are benched, you could still post here about how you're doing!
And yes, I do have Keystone East... so I HOPE I get as lucky as you with the coverage! I was trying to read through everything online about my plan and it's so "grey" with what's covered and what's not. I know that if I do get pregnant that they cover EVERYTHING except my first co-pay. So hopefully they will cover the testing and stuff... I'm pretty certain they wouldn't cover IVF and maybe not even the IUI but I believe (and fingers crossed) they cover the bloodwork, US, HSG...etc. I have a call today with them to go over what's covered and what's not so I'll know soon enough. Thank you so much for the information and yes, like you said... looking back on things after hearing what the doctor said is really eye opening. Like, I know I had high blood pressure, but other than having really swollen ankles and being told I needed to be on bed rest I felt FINE!

Sigh.
