Let's Talk Exercise

Hi fellow preggo mamas,

So, I figured we could use a place to discuss prenatal exercising, exercising adjustments, and all that jazz. It can be a fun place to get ideas for our own fitness, and even keep each other accountable if we want.

*Note: This is a safe space for everyone from all levels of fitness to talk about our physical health goals during pregnancy, aka lots of body positivity and encouragement.

Let's get to know each other

1. How far along are you?

2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy?

3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?

4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?

5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about?

  • @stillziggysmom thanks for starting this.  I need something to hold me accountable.

    1. How far along are you? 5w5d

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy?  I have an autoimmune disease, which when I feel well, I work out frequently, but when I feel crappy, I don’t.  I am sort of in the middle right now.  I haven’t been actively working out, but doing tons of yard work that I feel makes up for it.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?  I walk incline on the treadmill and do yoga.  I have been told I am no longer allowed to regularly run due to back issues.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?  I just want to walk regularly so I don’t gain a ton of weight.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I have never been one to follow any trends.
  • @stillziggysmom Thanks for starting this!  I am nowhere near my ideal weight this time and it makes me nervous, too.  But I just have to keep up with the healthy habits I’ve been doing and I think it will work out!

    1. How far along are you? 4+6

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? Not great, but not the worst.  I gained a lot of weight when I was caring for DS and let myself go.  Since December I have been pretty strict about getting back into workouts and a lot of diet changes.  So far, it seems to be working!  I just have to keep it up.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what? I use a streaming workout service called Daily Burn to work out at home.  I was doing a lot of cardio, but since becoming pregnant I’ve focused more on strength training to keep my heart rate in check.  I try to exercise 3-4 times a week.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? My hepatologist wants me to lose weight this pregnancy, so that’s what I aim to do!  I’m trying to keep as close to a keto diet as possible, plus add in some things from the Autoimmune Protocol Diet, like avoiding dairy and soy in addition to carbs.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I haven’t done much to be honest.  I did a green smoothie cleanse with DH a few times.

  • 1. How far along are you? 4w 2d

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? Well I've been training for a mini triathlon (5/4) and a relay race (5/18) so feeling pretty good and hoping I can keep up my routine.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what? Since I'm training for the triathlon I run M/W, bike T/T, try to swim at least one day and on either S/S I do a brick workout (bike then run).

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? Honestly I just want to stay active. One of my goals for this year was to run my 2nd half marathon in Nov and would LOVE to still do it but I will be consulting with my OB and Endo about it because the LO is WAY more important.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I haven't really tried any

@holly321 You have so much going on! I wish you all the best with the challenges life as thrown at you. I hope your body is kind to you during your pregnancy.

@SpongeWorthy Great goals and drive! How do you like Daily Burn? I keep seeing ads for it but have never tried it. I'm so sorry, by the way. I lost my son August 2018 as well. I am so sorry you have felt that pain, it's not fair. My heart is 100% with you, and hope that we both have a healthy and happy (as much as we can be) pregnancy.

@Peachie89 Wow. Good for you, I have serious respect for your ambitions. I hope you still get to participate in that half marathon. I wish I could run like that. I used to run 2-3 miles a day, but that was pure torture.

  • @stillziggysmom thanks for getting this thread started. Fitness is something I’ve been struggling with the past couple of years and these conversations help with accountability and motivation!

    1. How far along are you? 6+1

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? With the losses and fertility treatments the past few years I’ve been slowly digging a fitness hole. At one point I was running regularly, triathlons, multi-day bike rides, etc. I did a hike the other day that used to be considered easy and it was hard, so that is mentally frustrating.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?
The one thing I’ve been good about is yoga 1-2 days a week. Other than that I seem to have this mental block letting other things take priority.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? I don’t need to be back at a level where I was before, but I want to get to a point where some amount of fitness is a daily part of my routine. Yoga is a must and I want to take longer walks with the dogs and hike more now that the weather is nice.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I’ve never really been into “health fads” that I can remember anyway. Once I tried Zumba and the cringing was more about how I might cringe if I saw myself. My coordination is generally OK but I was not gettting that at all.
  • 1. How far along are you? 5w 2d

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? I already look like I have a bump because I’m still about 12lbs over my weight when I got pregnant the first time around.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what? Not in the slightest

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? I’m hoping to eat healthier, and build up some strength especially in my knees because no I’ve had some issues with them since carrying around a 25lb toddler all the time. Mostly I’m figuring I’ll start walking more now that the weather is getting nicer

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I’ve never really been one for fads or really even fitness so I don’t have any.
  • 1. How far along are you? 5w5d

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? Not as great as I'd hoped. I've never been super athletic or fit, but I was so stressed and busy with work this past winter that I stopped exercising almost completely. I'm also a bit overweight from where I'd like to be, though I've had an extra 15-20lbs most my adult life.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what? I walk to and from my job each day, though that's only about a 5 min walk. Luckily, finding out about baby has coincided with nicer weather, so husband and I have been going for a mild walk or hike almost every day. We're lucky we live somewhere with beautiful trails and waterfalls everywhere!

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? I'd like to have a little more stamina, and I'd like to avoid gaining too much weight. If I can go for long walks or hikes most days of the week, I'll be happy. I'm interested in trying out prenatal yoga as well.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I don't think this is a fad, since I read it in one of my mom's magazines as a teen, but in high school I tried drinking water mixed with apple cider vinegar as a weight loss trick. I *definitely* cringe when thinking about that one!  :s
  • @SpongeWorthy and @stillziggysmom I'm starting behind the power curve too. Still carrying a lot of weight from last time and my office didn't really hold me accountable. Not that it's totally their responsibility, but I wish they'd been a little more in my business about it. At least they were "supportive? "

@CapricaAndrea I feel ya! 25-lb toddlers are no joke, especially active ones. I've got one of those too and hoping it motivates me to be a little more active for his sake.

    1. How far along are you? 8w6d

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy?
Terrible. Last time I gained 60lb between morning sickness (the first 16 weeks where eating was all that seemed to help) and heartburn (the entire rest of the time, where eating seemed to help) and I'm still about 15lb over where I started the first time, and I was about 10lb overweight then.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?
My work schedule is super irregular so meals and fitness are hard to get into a routine. I walk my dog some, and play with/ carry my toddler but that's about it.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?
I'm wanting to see if I can get in some sort of a routine where I'm walking regularly. My goal is to only gain around 15-20lb this pregnancy since I'm starting overweight, but ultimately I just want us both to be healthy. I have a good friend who managed to only gain about 15lb during pregnancy by being super disciplined about avoiding sugar and walking daily. She is diabetic and started overweight. Her OB told her she didn't have a choice, so I'm getting advice from her about what worked and what didn't.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about?
I don't really go for those much. For starters, I usually don't have the discipline to maintain them, but I know they're not healthy and they're unsustainable. I tried like a day of keto once...
  • @nothingbuttherain ok your name HAS to be a Battlestar reference right?!
  • @CapricaAndrea is yours a battlestar reference?!
  • @ninrms guilty as charged!
  • @CapricaAndrea I was wondering about yours too!
  • 1. How far along are you? 6weeks +4

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? Not as good as I would like to. With my daughter I was in the best shape I’d ever been in, this time around I’m slacking a bit.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what? Not really. I hike regularly year round, back country ski, and mountain bike but I’m not going to be able to bike this summer which I’m bumming about so I’ll have to find something else.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? Being able to stay active the entire time. During my 3rd tri-mester last time I got really bad back spasms and wasn’t allowed to exercise, not even swim because I was having them in the pool and had troubles getting out once. It was pretty scary and I’m nervous about it happening again this time.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I attempted the lemon water cayenne diet once. I lasted a day! lol!
  • @ninrms @nothingbuttherain yes mine is too! Maybe this should be in FFC but we had a (lightly) BSG themed-wedding even 😂
  • 1. How far along are you?  By LMP, 6w6 days, but I think I ovulated super late so I'm going to rely on the dating ultrasound after Friday!

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy?  Not bad - I've been a pretty serious runner in the past, although I do reduce my running in the winter because it's cold outside :)  So I'm not in my optimal cardio shape which is stressing me out a bit, because running really helps me with stress relief but I don't want to push it!

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?  I generally work out 4-5x a week, with a mix of running and barre/strength type work.  I had been very into HIIT workouts but those are obviously out the window!

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?  Be able to work out as long as possible while keeping baby safe- it's really important for my mental health!  This is baby #3 for me and I was able to do so with my other pregnancies but I'm older now so not sure if I can keep it up this time.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about?  I tried kickboxing once.  Wasn't for me. :)

  • 1. 6w 5d

    2. I am nervous. I am not a huge fitness person, but I am not a total couch potato either.. If I am not cooking, cleaning, or playing with my kids, I am out and about running errands or walking to the park..I would like to do something like yoga though, because I feel like that would be just for me and baby and it would give me some time to myself.

    3. No, I don't. Unless you count climbing up to my three story apartment on a daily basis my routine. Sometimes I do it multiple times a day. I actually started thinking I was pregnant when I became seriously winded after just the second set of stairs. ( we have one set just to get into the building that isn't included in the three stories.)

    4. I intend to keep as fit as possible. Like I previously stated I am not super fitness oriented, but I do want to be healthy. I intend on looking into yoga, and I am going to continue to eat healthy so I dont gain any unnecessary weight.

    5. I dont know if this was a fad, but I used to wear ankle weights and high heels to try and make my legs look more toned without actually working out. It did nothing besides make my legs too sore to move. Maybe if I stuck with it I would have seen more improvement. I have no idea.
  • 1. 6w1d

    2. I am feeling pretty good.  Was at an all time non prego weight high right after new year's and managed to lose about 12 lbs with watching food and completing Beachbody Liift4 8 weeks.

    3. During my first two pregnancies I went to the gym after work and just did the treadmill and some light weights. This time around after finishing lifft4 with some heavy lifting I feel so much stronger, and I was kinda hoping to try to keep it up and just slow down the pace to what I felt comfortable.

    4. So I'm about 5 lbs heavier than I was when I started my second pregnancy, and which I had gained about 30 lb. My goal is to try to gain less than I did then. Both of my other DS were born in March and I know I probably had too much weight gain from the holidays. I'm typically a lighter eater and more active in the summer so I'm hoping that will be my advantage till October rolls around.

    5. Not really into fad diets.

@Peachie89 you can do it. I keep trying to keep the visual of the pregnant women running a marathon as my motivation.

    1. 8 weeks 1 day according to my doctor. I think more 8 weeks 4 days.

    2. Unmotivated/tired but trying to make it to at least 2 classes a week. After I workout though I feel GREAT!

3.Yes, yoga, spin, running, boot camp(modified).
I ran a half marathon this weekend, I walked when I needed to and drank plenty of Gatorade and water. I had been training since January and my doctor agreed it was fine since my body was ready. She didn’t recommend to just start running long distant if you weren’t before pregnancy.

    4. Stay healthy and not gain unnecessary weight.

    5. Not really outrageous but I’ve done whole 30 it was so hard! I had to cut out my favorite things; cheese and bread. I only lasted 2 weeks haha; it takes a lot of time to meal prep and self discipline that I apparently don’t have.

    8w 6d

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy?
Not great. I was already feeling like I needed to cut back on junk and start working out more, and now I'm hungry all. the. time. and it seems so hard to make the right food choices.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?
I use the Sworkit app to fit in a quick workout whenever I can. I have 5 kids and I homeschool, so finding time is hard. And we hike a lot.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?
Mostly to keep my core strong, to help with labor and recovery. I did this bare minimum with my last pregnancy and it helped a lot.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about?
I did a juice/broth cleanse for a week, and I was SOOO hungry. Never again.

P.S. If anyone is interested there's a yoga challenge on Instagram. It's only the first day if anyone wants to join to keep yourself motivated. It's #heartsinbloom3 Today is a bow pose. Maybe sometime we can do our own little challenge here!

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy?  I have recently been awful at working out. Between constantly being fatigued and some life changes (we just bought a house), I have been awful at working out. I’m planning to start going regularly this week.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?I’m hoping to go to some weight classes and the elliptical. I typically run but I’m a little worried about the impact, especially since I have a bad knee. I also want to go to yoga a few times a week to help with flexibility and relaxation.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?  I just want to be active so I can be as healthy as possible for my baby and myself.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I did orange theory fitness a few months ago and I absolutely love it. I recently left my job so I decided to cut it out but I miss it everyday.
  • 1. How far along are you? 5w according to LMP, but betas are high, and OVd on day 10, so I think this will be a Christmas/NYE baby.

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy?   Better than most, but not where I would like to be.  That said, is anybody??

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?  I crossfit 1-2x/week, and Zumba 1-2x/week.  My SO is a Pro Strongman, so it’s def a big part of our lives.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?  Stay as active as possible, and lift as much as possible, for as long as possible.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about?  Sweatsuits and waist trainers 😣.

    1. How far along are you? 9W3D

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy?  I’m a little off my game thanks to the morning sickness, but I’m coming back from that a bit, thank god

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?  I’m a yoga teacher, specifically Kundalini yoga, which I love because it does sets each day that are pretty demanding- even kind of boot camp-y in format.  Again, my morning sickness has been kind of taking me out of my routine, which has been frustrating.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?  I want to stay in good shape but not overdo it.  I had a miscarriage in the fall that I seriously wondered if I caused by continuing to exercise at my normal pace (I’m almost positive that’s not why it happened, but still...)

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I’ve done some trendy things that I liked the results of, such as intermittent fasting, juice detox, ketogenic diet, paleo.  Not everything worked great, but nothing cringe-worthy 😉
  • I am 7 weeks and 5 days based on my approximate lmp. Ultrasound set up for Wednesday to get a better idea how far I am.

How am I feeling fitness wise? Well not the best. I am currently the heaviest I have ever been at the start or..at any point in my previous pregnancies. I'm very worried about weight gain and the threat of what comes with that in pregnancy.

My fitness routine includes getting in as many steps as I can and soon once my best friend whom just had her baby 2 weeks ago is ready for the gym we will be doing treadmill and hour or so a day! I am very conscious of what I'm consuming as well :)

My fitness goal is to gain less than 15lbs and stay active and keep with my fitness routine my entire pregnancy. It's very important to me and I think it's the best for the baby as well!

Most outrageous health fad...i guess Intermittent fasting but it's not outrageous it works wonders if you stick with it helps retrain Your body and mind. I was workijg out and doing it and about 2 weeks later i found out i was pregnant  ..i tried "60 hour reboot" you do teas and broths instead of meals it was awful lol

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? I was doing great but the exhaustion has crushed my motivation!

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?
I was in a group HIIT class but switched to their prenatal HIIT and yoga program. I hope to keep running too!

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? Keep working on getting toned.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? All of the shake workouts. Not outrageous but I cannot stand the taste of any of them!

    Question for you ladies:

I've never been the most physically active (in my adult life, mostly just walks and hiking). I'm amping up my walks and hikes right now as much as fatigue/nausea will allow, but I'd really like to get my core stronger. Any recommendations on exercises or techniques to help with that?
  • 1. How far along are you? 8 weeks, 5 days

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? Feeling okay-ish...usually pretty active, but honestly haven't been to the gym or done much of anything in a month due to traveling, morning sickness, and then coming down with a cold for a week. Mostly just been doing yoga and going on walks because of all that, BUT feeling good today, and the husband and I have a plan to FINALLY hit the gym tonight after work!

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what? Usually, before this last month, yes. On Wednesdays I go to zumba, Thursdays I go to bodypump, Saturdays I go to yoga, and the rest of the week I either run, hike, surf, or hit the gym and work on the machines. Or on busy weeks, if I can't get to the gym, I do yoga or run stairs with my dog at home. He loves it. I'm a little bummed, because the doc just told me I'm not allowed to surf starting at week 12. I told my husband because of that, for the next few weekends, I don't care how small or flat the waves are, I'm going out no matter what. Gotta get it in before I can't anymore.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? Honestly, to just gain weight at a healthy rate, to gain a healthy amount of weight, to get some kind of exercise in at least three times a week, and to be able to continue to do my normal exercises as long as I can. Right now my only restrictions are no surfing after 12 weeks, and for bodypump, not allowed to lift more than 20 pounds. Also, not allowed to wakeboard (I had to ask, we have friends who own a boat, they ask us out pretty regularly during the summer). Other than that, all my other usual activities are good to go, so I'm pretty happy about that--looks like I can continue my usual routine for the most part.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I've actually never tried a fad--just tried to eat well and work out. Before pregnancy, I did use My Fitness Pal to keep myself in check, but I've stopped for the time being--this is not the time to count calories. When I'm hungry, I eat. I've been keeping healthy snacks on hand for myself at work for when that happens. Well, mostly healthy...I did give into some cookies and Nutella a few times, haha.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?

to keep moving and not turn to M U S H

So far I have been walking at least an hour a day and attending prenatal yoga. I skipped out the past two days due to a migraine I can Not shake

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about?
I cringe thinking about dieting! Sounds like torture

    I love dessert.
  • 1. How far along are you? 11w5d

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy?
I was very fit before pregnancy and have been feeling good when I do go to the gym but I don’t always want to go (major fatigue). I’ve cut back to 3-4 times a week at most.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?
I usually do CrossFit 4-5x a week and yoga 3-4x a month. I’m a CrossFit trainer as well.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?
To stay active the whole time- even if that means taking a long walk for the day. Doing what I can for as long as I can then modifying movements when I need to.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about?
Counting calories. Eat what you want, when you want in moderation. Stick to real, whole foods
  • 1. How far along are you? 9w2d

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? I actually feel the most fit I've been in the last few years, which is great. We struggled with infertility and I had (and honestly, still have) a fair amount of weight to lose, so I used the time working with our RE to also really focus on weight loss and health. I was able to lose 40lbs and develop a steady fitness routine in that time so I feel pretty good going into pregnancy.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what? I have a Peloton bike that I use a lot for spinning classes. I had been doing 4-5 times a week but the fatigue is real so I'm down to maybe 2-4 classes a week. I also hike, walk and garden a lot on the weekends which supplements it.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? I want to stay on that bike regularly up until the end, even if I have to dial it down a notch. I feel so much better after a class inside and out. I want to add in some more weights - specifically targeting ab muscles. I'm trying to find pregnancy friendly ab workouts - suggestions welcome! I also want to stay in hiking shape. My husband and I have a bunch of camping trips planned this summer that are all near amazing hikes. I'm fine if they take me longer, but this baby is going to see some mountaintops before its even born!

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? I've just done a lot of stints with calorie counting in my life, some more effective than others.

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? I was at my best physically when i got pregnant. I had lost the 30lbs I gained with DD + an addl 25lbs and had developed a nice 4-pack. 10w in I’m still feeling pretty good but my appetite has been out of control. Abs are gone and the boobs and belly are quickly expanding! I’m currently continuing with my 4-5 days / week CrossFit / GRIT workouts . Def feeling more winded though!

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what? Yes, I follow Street Parking WoD programming 4 days/week and I teach Les Mills GRIT once / week.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? To continue what I’ve been doing for as long as I can do it. Modify weights / exercises as needed.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? The Cabbage Soup diet!
  • 1. How far along are you? About 10 weeks

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? - I'm a plus size couch potato, the most exercise I did before I was pregnant was taking my dogs on long walks and playing with them.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what?

     - My doctors are encouraging me to do 30 minute walks 5 days a week. So I'm making sure I did that. Because I didnt exercise before I got pregnant they don't want me to do anything too drastically different from my original lifestyle. They suggested prenatal yoga and swimming. My dad has a nice pool so I plan on going swimming when it consistantly is warm out. Lots of yoga studios around me but I haven't found one that does prenatal yoga yet.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy?

    - Honestly I just want to have the healthiest pregnancy I can. To only gain the recommended amount of weight from my doctor and to not develop gestational diabetes. Other then that I want to work on my squats in preparation for giving birth.

Ugh there was this "diet" I did for a month. You only eat low fat cottage cheese with either pineapple or beets for 3 days then eat less than 1200 calories for 4 days and switch back and forth. Obviously I lost a lot of weight but I was miserable because it's not at all healthy.

@mrszoobear Have you tried online yoga?  I’m a certified yoga teacher and I use Glo.com online for classes- they have lots of prenatal and postnatal, too!  Plus you can do it whenever you have time, no schedule, and monthly membership costs about as much as attending one class at your average yoga studio.  I would obviously recommend going to a real studio from time to time, to get the personal interaction and share in the energy of the group, but this is a great substitute, especially when you’re just getting started.  Good luck!  Namaste! 🙏❤️

    1. How far along are you? 10w3d

    2. How are you feeling fitness-wise heading into this pregnancy? Not in my best shape ever but fine overall.

    3. Do you have a fitness routine? If so, what? Walking and yoga a couple times a week.

    4. What are your fitness goals throughout your pregnancy? Keep walking, introduce prenatal yoga, and work on my upper arm and back strength because that's an area I have problems with and have gone to physio for.

    5. GTKY: What is the most outrageous health fad you've tried that you cringe just thinking about? None come to mind.

Has anyone used a rowing machine throughout their pregnancy? We have one at home and I'm thinking about using it. I used it a little before I got pregnant, but I'm not proficient.

@mrszoobear I love Yoga With Adriene - free on YouTube! She also has a prenatal series I just downloaded for $27.

@cpk@cpk3535 Yoga Glo is great! And yes it's definitely nice to check in at a studio from time to time.
  • @jandawg you should be fine with rowing during the majority of your pregnancy.  I was just on the rower this morning.
  • @jandawg - OMG I love yoga With Adriene!!! I didn't know she did a prenatal series. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the tip!

I did download some free YouTube prenatal videos but haven't got around to trying them yet.
  • @mrszoobear - it's pretty cool - she has a friend who is pregnant that she films videos with throughout her pregnancy, so you see a pregnant body doing the yoga and also they have some chats about birth and labour as well.

@bookworm492 - thanks for sharing! I also found someone online who mentioned it was the one exercise she could do after her baby was born - it was lulled to sleep by the whirring.
  • @jandawg I've been debating buying one myself.   I crossfit,  we use them there a lot.   Yes I plan to continue crossfit throughout my pregnancy and as soon as possible after
