I had my GTT Friday and my doctor posted my results this morning. It came back 146 (6 points over). But with Memorial Day tomorrow, I’m guessing I won’t hear from them until Tuesday at the earliest. We didn’t talk about the actual test or what happens next at my appointment on Friday but I’m assuming I’ll go in for the 3 hour test now.

Team Green!
Had my glucose test this morning, now just have to wait for the results. My doctor is very much the no news is good news type, so if it does come back all clear, I won't hear it officially until my next appointment in 3 weeks. They said they want me in in 3 weeks for an ultrasound and then we'll switch to bi-weekly appointments. Based on what other's on this board have been saying I think my doctor is ultrasound happy, which I'm not complaining about. Appointment went well, just did a quick vitals check, and then the doppler. I did gain 10lbs, which makes me nervous, because I don't want to go over 200 again (I did with DS#2, and it was miserable) and now I'm getting close. but I think part of that gain may be the two weddings I attended this weekend. I'm going to try and cut back on the candy, and see what happens. My doctor didn't say anything, so that means he's fine with my weight.
I had my 28 week appoinntment today. Did the GTT. Had an ultrasound, as per usual. Then MFM and ob. And from here on out I'll see then on every other week until I think 34 or 36 weeks then weekly. Everything on the Sono looked good. But they weren't able to do a fetal echocardiogram. So the nurse called me after my appointment and said that the MFM doctor looked over everything and since I have the Sjögrens antibodies and because we haven't been able to get an chi and because a couple weeks ago my fluid levels were borderline elevated they wanted me to go ahead and schedule with the pediatric cardiologist to try to get the echo before baby is born. So that is scheduled for July 3. They said we will continue to try to get an echo but this way we have an appointment scheduled in case we need it.
Also, at my appointment with my OB I told him that lately when I lay down I have a hard time breathing. Like in any position I lay in. And it's also when I recline. And my chest feels weird when it happens. So I also get to go in for an echocardiogram. Still waiting for the hospital to call and schedule it. He said it's likely normal pregnancy breathlessness, but that he'd rather check it out to be sure.
I had my OB appointment and a growth scan yesterday at 30+3. Baby girl is measuring a few days ahead and is approximately 3lbs 11oz. I know from last time the measurements can be very off though. I am at every 2 week appointments and then at 35 weeks I'll start weekly appointments with ultrasound since I'm AMA.
It's so interesting to see the schedule of appointments for everyone going into the final stretch! Like how some people are every two weeks now, etc., both because of different medical practices and because of different pregnancy circumstances/considerations. In my case we'll stay at once a month until the 36-week appt and then go to once a week (I just had my 28 week appt, so I'll have one at 32 and then one at 36 and then once a week). Also at 36 I'll get an ultrasound to see the baby's position, the first US since my AS. I figured there would be more appointments since I'm AMA like @mkrel mentioned, but apparently not, and last time around I had an IVF and GD pregnancy so there was a lot more monitoring near the end. This time in comparison it feels like they're all "good luck having a baby bye."
@cato99 it is interesting! My practice does monthly until the third tri, then biweekly until 36 weeks, and weekly until the end. Only the dating scan and anatomy scan unless there is an issue/reason for another ultrasound... I had an appointment yesterday— it was uneventful, I did get the tdap and it’s a bit sore. I’m not looking forward to having to go back in two weeks for another weight, blood pressure, how are things going, appt. I wish I could be monthly until the end but ah well.
@cato99, it’s so fascinating. I’ve been trying to figure out what our schedule is and I think I may have figured it out as I found the book from my 1st appointment haha. We got monthly until 28 weeks, then at 31 weeks, then it switches biweekly until 36 weeks, then weekly. Standard u/s here is dating at 10-12 weeks and anatomy scan. Sometimes 1 more near 32-34 weeks to see where baby is and placenta. I have a package that I pay for where I get u/s every 4 weeks. I’ve been loving it so I can see him. It increases to every 2-3 weeks after 28 weeks so I’ll see him grow and run out of space haha. But this is not typical and is pricey!
My OB office does the GTT right in office with a Finger prick (drink the orange drink before arrival). I got results right away and mine were a grey area. They were higher than normal so I was given the choice to do the 3 hour or just meet with a dietician and start a GD diet. I decided to just start the diet. With DD I failed the 1 passed the 3. With DS I passed the 1 hour and that was with eating a banana on the way into the office. So I am pretty bummed. The blood test also showed anemia of pregnancy so time to start taking iron.
Baby is still measuring large, although in first tri they bumped my EDD back a week. I will have growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks. First one is next week.
Despite baby being very active she had a very difficult time finding the heartbeat and suspects that my water is very large. This could also not be helping my size at the moment.
My weight gain is up 12 pounds, which she said is much lower than she would expect for a baby that is measuring ahead and elevated glucose levels.

@Allycat11 If I were you I would be prepared to go anytime after mid-July. DS2 was due August 15, and that is with an early first tri date adjustment (I didn’t agree with it at the time, but I’m no doctor 🤷🏻♀️). He was born July 24 (3 weeks early) at 9 lb 4 oz and no GD. So I’m pretty sure the original date was more accurate.
@thirdtimesacharm2019 I agree to plan to go early for sure. There is no way this baby will still be hanging tight on august 24th. I have never made it to an EDD before, neither has my mom with any of her 4. Natural labor started early every time for both of us. Between third baby, measuring large, EDD pushed back, summer baby, and now GD I am thinking it will be even earlier.

Only measuring +22% in the u/s size estimate instead of +27% from the last growth scan a few weeks ago, so still bigger than expected, but coming closer to average than further from it, so that's good! Looks like there's no plug to be pulled on travel - YAY!

@BigBadWolf12 That is great news! So glad you don't have to rearrange your travel plans. I can't remember if you mentioned last week - did your OB talk to you about delivering early/moving your due date/induction due to size?
I had my 28w appointment yesterday with the Tdap and 1 hour glucose screen. Won't have results until next week though. Overall things are fine, the NP I saw mentioned I gained 6 *more* pounds this month and gave me a dirty look when I said "not bad!" LoL. My belly is measuring about 2 weeks ahead, but so was the baby at the growth scan 2 weeks ago so I wasn't surprised. And now I wait for results.
@oklahomak no, the midwife said we'd talk delivery plans when I get back from Canada. We will see how she's measuring then and what trend she is following. I would disagree with a due date change so I'm glad they haven't suggested it. I know the day I ovulated, had negative pregnancy tests the cycle before and squinters on 10dpo that got darker as expected for the o date conformed by temping and secondary signs. Plus she was measuring right on track at the anatomy scan.

Well, I aced my GTT! My iron was borderline where they prefer it to be (9.8 v >= 10, though 7 is really the minimum), so I'm just gonna sneak in some red meat (I've been avoiding meat like the plague), eggs, and peanut butter. My belly was measuring at 28 (I'm 29w0d) and my belly button - what?? - was at 20 weeks (which made me laugh, it never "popped" or even got flat with DD1 at 40w1d). Overall, I'm +2 lbs (one of the few benefits of starting out a little heavy) and seem to be going along just fine. I've got 18 lbs between me and 200 - where I was when I delivered DD1 - and 10 weeks to get there, so I'm feeling confident about that. I did space on the dTap, so I'm calling back to ask about when I need to schedule that (they can do it at the clinic at work). I put in my request for my preferred RCS date, so I should hear back Monday about that ... then it's just a waiting game

Got back from my latest appointment a little while ago. Baby is measuring on track and had a good HR. Got my tDap so I'm hoping the soreness won't be unbearable. She did mention that she'll have me do bi-weekly NST starting at 36 weeks. I got the impression that the only indication for it was my age (35) and reassurance that baby is fine, not that there's anything wrong with baby. Is this normal as far as screening tests go?
@BigBadWolf12 - Right!? Like I don't remember that at all I'm still laughing about it.
So I did call OB back and he said that he's going to give me dTap/tDap when I'm in the hospital before my RCS. Does that sound right? If not, I'll just bring it up at my next appt ... I didn't do that last time, though it was with my first and we were going for a vaginal birth.
Also - another question - for those with RCS, we don't have to do the Strep swab, right? Should I expect my doc to check my cervix at all ... or are we just staying the course unless I go into labor naturally before my RCS date?
I really should be more prepared, but you know what they say ... second child problems

@MamaK225 even with my RCS last time I still had to get the strep b swab. Also I had cervix checks occasionally but I think those were because I went into preterm labor a few times so they were keeping a close eye on it. But I do think one was planned no matter what, at the pre-op appointment.
@mamak225, I read that you get it 27-34 weeks or whatever so it has time to get into your blood stream and to the baby before delivery. If you did it right before delivery, it would have time to be passed on to baby. I could be wrong but this is what I recall reading when I was researching when to get it done.
@AKuzReve - That was my thought, that you get it in your 3rd trimester to allow it to "get" to the baby. Who knows. I'll probably still bring it up and either get it then or blame the "forgetting" on pregnancy brain. I was in a mood today at my visit so he was probably not trying to HMU with a shot, too

@MamaK225 I had my tdap at my last appointment (27 weeks). Pretty sure I still had to have the strep test with my second scheduled c-section. Ugh. The only time I’ve had my cervix checked is with DS2 and ONLY because I went into labor before his scheduled date.
30 week appointment today at 30+3. Everything went fine except that I have a yeast infection. I just finished a course of monistat and it didn’t help-at all. OB gave me an oral medication and a different prescription strength cream. Really hoping this goes away, ASAP. Back to the OB on June 12th for an ultrasound and OB appt.
@cmessamore I had a bad yeast infection early on due to antibiotics and it took a few rounds of monostat to clear up. Hope yours gets better, the are the worst!!!
