@sourlemon Yay for good news thus far! I'll keep you in mind on the 16th, that's also when I go back next. We'll be going over our most recent AS and taking the GD test. That day can't get here quick enough!
  • I had my 24 week check up today. All is looking great. She was like your belly seems big (to who? I think I’m still pretty small lol) but seems normal with a short torso. It’s high but narrow. I got my requisition for glucose test so will do that next week after my vacation just in case.

His face is so cute. We got some great u/s pictures and he was trying to hide his face.

He weighs 720g and legs are still so long at 78% (Dutch average).

He flipped yesterday so is now head down and his stomach is under my belly button.

Next appointment is June 3. I’ll have to do blood work, check growth, check RH and probably get my rhogam shot. I also get a 4D u/s!

  • I have my super fun GD test tomorrow at my 28 week apt. I’ve passed with my previous 2 but have been feeling a little lightheaded lately and gets easily dizzy. DH says that’s actually a sign of low blood sugar, either way I plan to ask my OB about it. Also get my TDAP vaccine tomorrow. It will be a fun one...

  • FX @olivemomma.

@AKuzReve - your doc is crazy, you're so teeny tiny (in the best of ways). I was told last week my fundal was height was showing 2-4 weeks small, but OB wasn't concerned, given that it was in a similar spot with DD1.

My GD test is on the 31st and I have no idea whether to be nervous or not. I can't remember what I got last time, but I did pass, so I'm hoping for a repeat. I got the first appt of the day so that I can fast like last time (and have comparable results). We have an on-site clinic at work, so I might schedule an appt for two weeks from now to do a trial run of a fasting test.

@Lotus_2008 good luck! I have my GD next Monday and although I haven’t had it with previous pregnancies I’m really nervous this time 😬.
  • aecmaecm member
Had my 24 week US and nurse practitioner appointment, and everything is looking really good. The boys are growing right on track, fluid levels were good, and my cervix is still nice and super long!

I’ll have my TDap and GD test next appointment, so looking a little less forward to that one. I was warned again today that I’m at higher risk for GD b/c of twins. 😒

  • @Lotus_2008 - Hope you passed that 3-hr with flying colors! I hear the wait is just torture.

@olivemomma - I also hope you passed your GD test.

@aecm - FX you don't have to worry about the GD test. I was *just* thinking about TDap last night! I told DH that he shouldn't need to get an update (he got one in May 2016), but I will be getting one again to give DD2 some boosted immunity until she can get her shots.

  • Good luck to everyone taking their GD tests soon!!
  • Haven’t heard back on my GD test and they told me no news is good news so fingers crossed! However, my shoulder is sore as all get out from that TDAP shot - I don’t remember it being like this previously. Makes sleeping on the side even harder!

@olivemomma I thought results were immediate? Are they not? Dang, I’ve been thinking I’d have my answer the day I go for my appt.
  • Both my previous pregnancies it took about a week to get my GTT results. I think it just depends.
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • @emqbee definitely not immediate as they have to submit the labs - my OB said they typically have them the next day though

@Lotus_2008 Hope all is well with your 3hr!

My GTT is tomorrow. I drink the stuff at 7am. Yuck. I see the OB tomorrow & MFM on Monday, where I’ll have another anatomy-type scan.
  • Had my AS appt on Tuesday of this week. Did my glucose one hour test as well then. They told me they would have results the next morning and if I did not get called it meant good results. I chose orange over the fruit punch flavor and it wasn’t as bad as I expected. He weighs exactly 2 pounds, I posted pics on the ultrasound pic board. Am in love with his face that looks exactly like my husbands from what I can see! 😍the ultrasound tech said she can tell my baby has hair already!  this was my last 4 week apart appt and I start going every 2 weeks now. That makes it feel like I am actually finally getting slowly closer to my due date. I get the Rhogam shot at my next appt. not looking forward to that as I am told it hurts.

Glad to hear about everybodies appts going pretty good. Hope they all continue to be.
  • Ugh, thanks for the reminder/warning, @olivemomma. I'll make sure to get my DTAP in my non-sleeping shoulder. Also, I should probably pay my last LabCorp bill so that they won't hold my results hostage like they did with my NIPT (*huge eye roll*) test.

@janele3214 - How far along are you? I bet it was hard to get him to sit still after having taken Satan's sweet syrup just before!

  • @BigBadWolf12 How was the GD test? Did they say how long you have to wait for results?
  • @jrm_14 Hope your GTT went well. I also did mine first thing in the morning just to get it over with!

My 3 hour was a bit rough at first. I was coming in after fasting for 12 hours. About 25 mins after drinking the glucola, I started to get really shaky, nauseous and dizzy. All I could think about was not throwing up in the middle of the waiting room! Luckily the phlebotomist was super sweet. She took me back to the blood draw room so she could monitor me and gave me a cold compress. After that passed, I was better. I went out to my car and did some work, which helped take my mind off the hunger.

I hope none of you ladies have to do the 3 hour, but if you do be sure to bring some food for right after your last draw. The 12 hour fast is actually a 15 hour fast considering you can't eat anything during the test. My peanut butter and banana sandwich right after was the best meal ever!

  • @mrosek91 thanks for asking :) it was ok. Fasting 2 hour and when I asked the midwife before if I could drink water,  she was like,  "umm... just sips if you must" so I went from dinner till 8.15 with 2 sips of water. Then DOWNED the glucose drink which burned my throat haha.  But it was fine.  When I could finally eat/drink for real at 10.30 it was awesome haha.  I didn't really feel weird,  just tired but that could also be bc DS didn't sleep after 5am and was up several times before that.  So... so knows.

They said "a few days" so I'm hoping Monday?  I will be checking my online journal and having my phone on high until I get results though lol. Face to face follow up not until NEXT Friday.

@BigBadWolf12 Yay for passing! Maybe baby just had a big growth spurt and everything with level out over the next few weeks!
  • @BigBadWolf12 Great news!! Crossing my fingers for getting your travel docs without any problems
  • @BigBadWolf12 Congrats on passing!

I called for my 3 hour test results and all were within normal limits! Still have no clue why my screening test result was so high.

  • Had my 28wk Appt today. US showed that my placenta has only moved .1cm, so still low at .8cm away. Feeling bummed about that especially because I didn’t even get to see the dr (she got called away for a C section). Did my glucose test too, so fingers crossed I pass that. Baby is looking great at 2lbs 13oz, so I’ll be thankful for that
  • 27 week appointment today (odd timing, I guess they didn’t want to miss the GD testing window?).

GD test - should get results tomorrow (fingers crossed); the drink wasn’t as bad as I remembered and they got my blood on the first stick!

Ultrasound to check placenta position - looking good! It’s moved away from the cervix so they should be able to reuse the same incision site 😊. Bonus: we got to see baby boy’s face in 3D!!!! I’ve never had a 3D ultrasound and it was really amazing! He already looks like his dad/brother 🤗.

We also got to schedule all our remaining appointments, which was nice.
  • had my MFM appt today.  She was so active the whole time and the ultrasound tech said that she was getting pics that were so clear they should be in textbooks lol.  Everything looks good and they commented on her long legs again. Kaleigh is 2lbs and in the 63rd percentile and has moved to head down.  We got some great 3D pics of her too!  Next MFM is 7/3 at 32 weeks.
  • Add me to the PASS list for the GD test. Those two days without ice cream were rough, HA. Good luck to everyone waiting to take the test and waiting on results!
  • I have a Dr. Appointment this afternoon- should be one of those quick check up types, just letting me know my Glucose test came back negative (I was impatient for results and called the office last week just to get some peace of mind, LOL) and probably doing measurements. The next is June 3rd, and then every two weeks from there. Not sure how they determined these dates, but it's okay with me.

I'm told that unless they absolutely need to, they won't be doing any other ultrasounds for the rest of the pregnancy. I've only had two this whole pregnancy- one at 8 weeks to verify, and one around 20 weeks for the anatomy scan. I'm 28 weeks + 3 days as of today, and it's my first, and have had no health issues (high blood pressure, abnormal growth, abnormal symptoms). I assume this might be the reason why I'm not getting any more ultrasounds, but I'm tempted to go to one of those specialty 4-D ultrasound places just to have one more done ;)
  • @flagchic I think that’s pretty normal. I’ve always had a scan after the AS but for specific reasons - with DD it wasn’t placenta previa, DS a fetal echocardiogram, and this go It’s just because I’m old 😂
    BabyFruit Ticker}
  • @olivemomma That makes sense! I figured it was just because they have nothing specific to look for, so no more scans. I can't help but feel a little jealous of everybody who gets that extra sneak peek, though :)
  • emqbeeemqbee member
@flagchic the flip side to that is the anxiety of hearing, ‘we need to do a follow up scan do to blah blah’. I’m currently anxiously awaiting my next visit because one person said we’d do another scan because of a problem seen, and the other person said, we’ll look at everything closely and decide at your next visit if we should do another scan. I’d much rather the ‘everything’s great, next time you see her you’ll be holding her!’
  • I passed my glucose test!!!! Wooohoooo!!!! I don’t know why I was so worried (no prior history)
  • mkrelmkrel member
I had my 28 week appointment today complete with GTT and tdap booster.  I should have my results tomorrow.  I also found out I'll get an ultrasound at 30 weeks to check on growth and then since I'm AMA, I'll also be getting weekly ultrasounds from 36 weeks on.
  • @MamaK225 they did my AS at 26 weeks exactly. They do the AS after 24 weeks at my doctors office.. so not sure what is more accurate. Those who go around 20 or a month later.. lil man sure was active and found the Doppler and kept kicking it. All the sugar prior sure did not help lol 😂
