STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies? Nada!! Aside from being more tired because DS is a rambunctious 2yo (tomorrow is his birthday!! 🥳 🥺) Maybe that’s why I was shocked there’s some lady parts in there! 🧐

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play?
*eta Team Pink! I would love both kiddos to play golf! DH and I were quite the twosome before we had kids and I miss golfing. I also played soccer for many years and would love to see them get into that. I’m not a huge basketball fan, so please please please don’t let them be into it!!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Air sacs are forming in LO’s lungs / Barbie doll size (to the chagrin of DH 😜)

    Upcoming Appointments: June 5th

    How are you feeling?: Fan-freakin’-tastic!

Rants/Raves: Back on the mainland - boo!! However, DS officially turns 2 tomorrow! I can’t believe how quickly these past two years have gone! We went and picked up his balance bike this weekend (helmet is coming later this week - they were out of stock in store). He is a tiny little fiend on it already, lifting his legs when he’s going down little hills. Looking forward to seeing him really using it!! @zuuls_mom Did you know they have “Strider Cups”? DH’s friend sent him a video of a recent event that he saw in LA. It is beyond adorable!!

    Questions: Nah, we cool!

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Elton John!!

  • @lillywonderland Welcome home! I hope you had a wonderful time! I second golf. Also, I feel like it's safer than contact sports lol. Are you planning DS a birthday party?

Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 23 weeks!!

FTM: What are you most scared about? Him coming early, being born still born, and SIDS. I think I have a little PTSD from past pregnancies that I just can't buy into when people tell me "this likely won't happen to you".
    -or-
STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies?

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? Oh please please please don't play football. Anything but football. I wouldn't mind baseball (but it's a bore to watch!) also, golf could be fun, and something we do together as a family. I love the thought of that

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Grapefruit this week! Internet says he's 1lb1oz, but I have an appt tomorrow and I'm betting he's 1lb7oz.

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow! We're getting a scan done just to make sure there's no fluid and to track his growth. Very excited!

How are you feeling?: I feel great but getting heavier. Does your metabolism stop working in pregnancy or something? I'm cleaning up my diet a bit, but don't expect to stop gaining weight, I'm just hoping it slows down a bit.

Rants/Raves: Aside from the snafu DH and I had at BuyBuy baby yesterday, everything is great here! I'm getting antsy about putting his nursery together and all of the little things that need to be done around the house, but it will happen eventually.

Questions: Yes! I was looking through the threads yesterday for a specific thread that @lillywonderland and @zuuls_mom gave some great advice on the necessities you need on your registry as a FTM. I think Lilly even gave counts of items (like, 4 bibs, 10 onsies, etc)? I thought it was on the registry thread but I guess I was wrong. Anyone recall, or know where this ended up?

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Ozzfest. lol.

  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 25+1

FTM: What are you most scared about?
    -or-
STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies?  Everything is just much harder this time around.  Like @lillywonderland, I'm guessing a big part of it is toddler-chasing in addition to human-incubating, but still...

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play?  Ugh... probably football, like @nomangos23.  Which is weird, because DH works for an NFL team and I looove football. Just don't want DS to play.  For DD, I'm just hoping she has a little tomboy in her.  Not sure how I'd handle a princess (but I'm sure we'd figure it out!!)

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of:  Good lord, feels like a huge monster when she's kicking around in there, but actually a cauliflower.

Upcoming Appointments:  Had GD screen this morning and now nothing for another month.

How are you feeling?:  Huge and tired.  But nothing seriously wrong  :D

Rants/Raves:  We had our first 90° day over the weekend and it wiped me out more than I'd care to admit.  It's gonna be a looooong August.  **I can do this, I can do this, I can do this**

tom papa conan obrien GIF by Team Coco

    Questions: nah.

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended?  Woodstock '99.  My parents would never let me go to concerts when I lived with them, so when I was 19 I saved up and a bunch of friends and I went to Woodstock, lol.  And (as we all know) it was horrible and ended even worse.  Luckily we got out of there before the riots got too bad.

Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/20, 23w4d. So close to viability

STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies?
Not really. I had a bit more nausea this time but it still wasn’t a ton. Things have come earlier like heartburn and hip pain but I think that’s to be expected. Second pregnancy is no joke! I’m enjoying this one less than the first, which I though was a breeze.

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play?
Blue. I’m really hoping neither boy is interested in football or wrestling. DS1 is playing soccer right now, which I’ve alwasy found boring. He’s also doing T Ball. I’m hoping he enjoys that and wants to continue playing baseball. I’d also like to see him get into something like cross country, tennis and MH wants him to swim. He’s not really athletic though. Lol. Hoping the next one is.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of:
size of an Honest Tea bottle.

    Upcoming Appointments:
Thursday for my 24 week appointment. I’m wondering when they do the glucose test.

    How are you feeling?:
feeling pretty good currently. I hate how out of breath I get when I go for walks. Makes staying active kind of hard.

Rants/Raves: Nothing really this week. Little man has been super active and I love it.

    Questions:
How soon is too soon for the AC? Is not super hot but it’s so humid in our house! All this stupid rain. MH thinks it’s too early. I think it’s fine.

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended?
Backstreet Boys was my first real concert. My town used to do a festival every July that would have minor rock bands come so we always went to those as a family but I don’t consider them “real” concerts.

@lillywonderland welcome back to the main land! I’m glad you had a great vacation. Almost 2.5 is going to be a great age gap! Two is such a fun age!

@nomangos23 good luck on your scan! I’m terrified of DS wanting to play football after all the CTE developments. Unfortunately football is the “in” sport for our school district so I guess we will see.

Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/24 23 weeks today!

STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies? All my symptoms this go around have been more mild. I feel like my “second tri energy boost” has also been more mild, but that could be from chasing around a 3yo.

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? I would love baby girl to do dance and gymnastics like I did, and I would love DS to do soccer like his dad. I realllly would loathe if they did softball and baseball because I just hate watching it, but I know I’ll be the mom making glitter vinyl shirts on my Cricut and tailgating in my Subaru Outback at every game no matter what they decide!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: a grapefruit which is coincidentally what I eat every day

Upcoming Appointments: Glucose test at the end of next month

How are you feeling?: tired and overwhelmed but so excited!

Rants/Raves: Rant 1: My runaway kitty unfortunately was struck and killed by a car on Friday. Explaining it to DS was so hard but I wanted to be honest and not let him think she ran away and would come back. He has done really well with it though. Rant 2: My SIL is a keyboard warrior constantly getting in fights with people on FB articles. While I believe in most of her stances, she has recently had some retaliation where people have commented really crude things on her public posts just trolling her. My problem with this is that she has my son in public pictures and in her header photo and it makes me uneasy to think there’s just hateful people I’d never interact with looking at him and writing hateful things even if they’re not related to him at all. Rave: I got DH to agree to go camping this summer! I haven’t been tent camping since college and I’m so excited to take DS. I cant wait to unplug for the weekend and spend family time together.

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? I think it was Reliant K & The Rocket Summer when I was 14

@nomangos23 We had the BEST time in Hawaii. The difference between last year and this year (we did Hawaii last year also  B) ) was amazing to see in DS! He was so much more aware this year and LOVED the "wawa" (water) and fishies. He also started saying "I did it!" in Hawaii. It is beyond adorable. I found the post you were recalling - it was in the Babies on a Budget thread. Cross-posted list here for you! (I added two things to it also)

    Car Seat

    Stroller

    Furniture – Crib / Dresser / Chair / Mattress / Changing Pad

    Burp Cloth (8)

    Bath Tub

    Rinsing Cup for bath

    Washcloths (6)

Towels (hooded because they are sooooo cute) (2)

Pack n Play with Bassinet setting

    PnP Sheets (2)

    Waterproof Mattress Protector (2)

Crib sheets (4…2 were for daycare)

    Crib Skirt

    Changing Pad cover (2)

    Diaper Bag

    Diaper Genie (and refills)

    Boppy

Nursing cover (but honestly, DS hated mine after 7mo and a swaddle blanket works just fine)

Boon Cleaning supplies for bottles (brush / grass / tree / flower)

    High Chair

    Baby Carrier

    Baby Book

    Bouncer

Thermometer (we got a forehead one that came with a regular thermometer)

    Nail Clipper

    Frieda Nose Sucker

Currently on my new Amazon registry is:

    Another Video Monitor
Crib sheet / changing cover (in a different color because...new nursery theme)
    Baby Book
    Cool mist humidifier

@RedBreast35 You don’t have to share what team DH works for (if you don’t want...), but what does he do?!? I’m so curious now!! I also loooooove football, but there’s no way I’m okay with DS playing it. NO THANK YOU.

@calliah DH hates soccer (and also finds it incredibly boring) but I love it, and IMO it is the BEST sport out there for kiddos because they have to run so much in it. I’m sure DS will be playing little league since my FIL is still involved in it (really, it’s adorable how involved he is!)
  • I’ll try to tag later!

    Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/9; 25+2

FTM: What are you most scared about? Being home all day with the baby. I really enjoy working! I’m looking forward to the maternity leave, but also get anxious at the thought of not having that daily social interaction with adults (besides DH) that doesn’t revolve around the baby.

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? Love: Lacrosse! Born and raised in MD, so it’s kind of a given. Loathe: Football because of the risks; soccer because I selfishly don’t want to spend my weekends at little kid soccer games.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Head of cauliflower

Upcoming Appointments: 6/11 for my glucose test

How are you feeling?: Wonderful. I’ve been feeling baby move a little more lately which has been awesome!

Rants/Raves: Had such a great time at the lake the past few days! Sad to leave, but happy to see DH later tonight.

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Kelly Clarkson & Clay Aiken (LOL)
  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 09/15 - 24 weeks + 2 days

FTM: What are you most scared about? Labour and delivery. I have no idea how strong I will be, and what my pain tolerance will be. Also scared to be alone for a week at a time with a newborn as DH works away every other week. Which also means I am terrified he may miss the birth altogether.

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? Team Green.
Would love to put LO in gymnastics, and some sort of music lessons. I hope that he/she will also be into sports. Anything but hockey. It takes up SO much time and money, and involves a LOT of travel.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Baby's finger is a long as a coffee bean...

Upcoming Appointments: June 5th. Standard appt and will be booking my glucose test from there.

How are you feeling?: I feel good most of the time. I randomly get super sore muscles and feet. And my right hip has been nothing but a problem. Massage and chiro have been life savers!

Rants/Raves: Rave: I feel baby all of the time! So active. I don't know if this is any foreshadowing for an active kid who never sleeps, but I sure do enjoy feeling baby move a lot. And I swear the stronger kicks can be felt from the outside now.  <3
Rant: Sleeping has become very uncomfortable. Why must sleep elude me prior to baby's arrival!?

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? I don't know if I am recalling correctly, but it may have been Hillary Duff when I was in elementary school with a bunch of my aunts and cousins.  :|
    Me: 31 │ DH: 30

  • @RedBreast35 huge and tired seems to sum it up perfectly! I’m dreading August as well!

@calliah we put our ACs in this weekend and it has been amazing! Pregnancy makes you so much hotter than normal don’t let DH make you suffer!

@kaceyallan my hips are horrible at night too! DS was wild in the womb and is a horrible sleeper. He still doesn’t sleep through the night and he is 3 🤦🏻‍♀️. I hope for your sake this isn’t a direct correlation!
  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/26, 22+5

FTM: What are you most scared about?
    -or-
STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies? Nope. I have had SUCH similar pregnancies from one to the next that it’s honestly shocking to me. Every aspect is always identical with the one variant being weight gain – but directly correlated to prepreg weight (start thinner / gain more, start heavier / gain less).

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? Always pink! All our girls are involved in dance and I love it.  It’s not a huge commitment week to week (for now) and the recital is literally adorable. I enjoyed having them in swim, but, gets expensive.  We have one in lacrosse right now and the commitment is overwhelming to me (2x weekly practices, 1x weekly games, plus additional ‘things’ – at kindergarten level).  I’d be happy to stick to dance and gymnastics!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: an ear of corn!

Upcoming Appointments: Monday June 3 for 24w. I believe we will discuss GD testing, tho I am tempted to decline.

How are you feeling?: Pretty decent. We’ve been cooking more, meal planning, bringing lunches/snacks to work etc and I think that is helping my overall wellbeing. Sleep is still just eh. I think I’m going to start taking Unisom and see if that helps.  My hips definitely get SORE in the night and I’m SUUUPER wiped by the time I sit on the couch at night.  And walking up a flight of stairs is basically like running a marathon.

Rants/Raves: Rant: feeling especially LARGE lately. But not cute and round.  Square and mushy and just, fat.  I was pretty small my last two pregnancies so it’s sort of throwing me in a bit of a negative self-image slump.  Rave: I got a Solly wrap newborn carrier and it arrived over the weekend, and I LOVE IT SO MUCH.  It is totally giving me the feels.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended?  I’m fairly embarrassed to say that it was Hanson.

@lillywonderland are you having a party for DS? I love kids parties!!

@nomangos23 SAME with the PTSD. I’m having MAJOR anxiety over all the things. I have found myself feeling teary almost every day with worry and fear about how I’m going to handle this baby being on the outside.  I hope you are able to ease your fears and enjoy as much as you can. <3

@RedBreast35 we hit 90 this weekend too and everyone wanted to be outside, and all I wanted to do was sit my butt on the couch under a fan. This summer might be scary!

@calliah I think glucose is generally done at the 28w appointment? So they will probably address it with you on Thursday.  Historically, my office has had me take home the drink at the 24w appt with instructions for drinking it before the 28w.  Also, we already put our ACs in the windows and I have no regrets.

@duewithpu2 OH NO! I’m so sorry about your kitty. ☹

@cammie0526 you should look into new mom groups and other similar type get togethers in your area! They aren’t always super ‘on the surface’ but they usually exist.  They were a lifesaver for me during maternity leave with my first, and I’m looking forward to seeking some out again with this LO.  It’s hard to find mom friends once you’re past the infancy stage.

  • @nomangos23, @kiddiesandkitties No party this year for DS, too much work planning it since we just got back this weekend.  He won’t even notice! 🤣 I feel  super guilty for not making him a cake for his actual birthday (I forgot when I went grocery shopping this weekend) so I might stop by the store and pick up a mix to make some cupcakes tonight. Funfetti for the win!! 😉

@duewithpu2 Oops, you snuck in there! I’m so sorry about your kitty cat!! That is a tough convo to have with your DS. I hope he is doing okay taking the news.

@cammie0526 I second trying to find a mom group. My hospital has a breastfeeding support group (FB and IRL once a week). It was nice to have that once a week meeting for me when DS was new. I don’t have a ton of friends in the area and although my BFF’s LO is only 4 months older than DS, she was already back at work when DS was “out”, lol.

@kaceyallan How far away does YH work? Labor usually takes hours, so would he be able to leave work mid-week for LO’s arrival once you’re admitted to the hospital?

@kiddiesandkitties I think DS needs to start up his swim lessons again. We stopped last year because I didn’t think he was “getting” it because he was only like 14mo. I think he’ll be able to listen and “obey” better this summer!
  • @nomangos23 Agreed. I'm all for letting them make their own decisions but I'm a hard no on football.
@calliah Don't discount humidity in the house. That can lead to mold and stuff.
@duewithpu2 I'm so sorry about your kitty!
  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: Sept 21

STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies? Lots more ache and pains this time around.  Also I have not gotten the 2nd tri burst of ebergy

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? I'm open for anything.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Barbie doll

Upcoming Appointments: Next week with 1 hour GTT

How are you feeling?: Sleepy and need to listen to when my body says to quit so my hips don't scream

Rants/Raves: DH is starting to work on my honey do list so we can start getting things in order for baby

    Questions:

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Bare Naked Ladies
  • @nomangos23 DS wanted to play football, and I didn't. So I found the toughest league around us, 2 hour practices 4 days a week plus the game, he was in 1st grade.  I was hoping his laziness would make him hate this, but it backfired and he loved it.  Thankfully he decided to join team for gymnastics and we don't have to deal with another football season.
@duewithpu2 So sorry about your kitty
  • @themadcamel LOL @ wine over mom-groups.  DH just texted me to ask 'if it was a bad look for a pregnant lady to be buying a case of wine' - on my way home, for the house.  I suppose we shall see in about an hour?  Haha.
  • duewithpu2  Oh man! I hope I don't have a horrible sleeper! I can only imagine that it would make every other aspect of being a new parent harder.

@lillywonderland My husband is an 8 hour drive away when he is at work. And he works underground, so there will probably be a bit of time to get the message to him that he needs to leave and head home. I'd assume I'll need 8-10 hours from the time I go into labour to get him home. And work will definitely let him leave mid-shift if I go into labour. But I don't want to go through all that labouring without him either! Oh man. It gives me anxiety to think about.
    Me: 31 │ DH: 30
    Married 05/26/17
    STM; DS 9/14/2019
    EDD 6/13/2022
  • @calliah ughhh my nephews wrestle and, in addition to the kind of violent aspect of it, my BIL and SIL have to go to meets that are several hours long every weekend during the season.  It sounds brutal.  Yeah, wrestling would suck too.  And no, not too early for AC!!!
@duewithpu2 I'm so so sorry about your kitty and having to tell your son  :'(
@lillywonderland he's the assistant to the head coach.  It sounds all prestigious, but the shine of working around famous people all the time has worn off.  Now he's just the assistant to a demanding boss who has never had to do basic life things on his own.  (For examples- he gets phone calls at 11pm because boss can't remember Amazon password; phone call while his boss is on a family vacation because doesn't like his rental car and wants MH to fix it; has to take his teenage daughter's car to mechanic; etc.)
@cammie0526 it's crazy how big lacrosse is around here.  I'm a transplant, so it was a big shock how big a deal it is!
@kaceyallan would YH not be able to get off work for birth if that's a week he works?!?  Or maybe just not get there in time?  Ugh, I hope that's not the case!  And unlike @duewithpu2 DS was a wildman in the womb as well, but he's been a better than average sleeper- so it's not definite!  ;)
  • @lilywonderland Welcome home hope you had an amazing time and also Happy birthday to your DS!

@nomangos23 Good luck at your appointment.

@redbreast35 I am feeling huge and tired too! Takes me like 2 days to recover from the weekends and all the running around now.

@calliah Good luck at your appointment. I am with you on the a/c…I want it on but I’m not ready for it yet.

@duewithpu2 Sorry about your cat. Glad DS is taking it good thou.

@cammie0526 Is it possible to do some side work at home? Baby does sleep a lot in the beginning so maybe having a project might make the days go by faster.

@kaceyallan Ask your dr if you have plantar fasciitis because I found out I do and have been using a tennis ball to roll out my feet and it has made a huge huge huge difference. I am not that sore anymore esp when getting up in the morning.

@kiddiesandkitties yes to the sore everything! What do you do with all the old dance recital costumes?

@monkeysmom80 I need to create a honey do list! I have been thinking of so many things I want to accomplish before LO gets here.

@themadcamel Congrats on the new car and almost being done for the school year!

  • I was totally MIA the last couple weeks. Work was busy which it usually isn't this time of the month and I felt so disconnected that I couldn't get on here and check in with everyone. Glad to see you're all doing good and chugging along  :)

Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 25 weeks

FTM: What are you most scared about?
    -or-
STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies? Not really, just every pregnancy gets a little harder and I get sorer sooner

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? pink - we do dance in the fall for my oldest and soccer in the summer. My second is too young for sports yet but I'd love for them to be in the same sport otherwise I don't know how I'll get everyone to practices/games

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: baseball glove

Upcoming Appointments: end of June for GD testing

How are you feeling?: sore, like a whale, tired, hungry, did I mention sore?

Rants/Raves: Over this rain! Bring on the sun please

Questions: Do you plan on getting furniture your kids will share or each kid gets their own set?

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Spice girls!!!

  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 25w2d

FTM: What are you most scared about?
    -or-
STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies? Not in the 2nd tri. Major MS difference the 1st

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? I kind of want someone to get into riding but at the same time I totally don't because it is so expensive. I grew up the poor kid who was lucky to have horses though. We may have had some money if we didn't have so many animals!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Cauliflower

Upcoming Appointments: mid June for a regular one

How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Pretty tired at night. Good in the morning but going to do some testing soon just to make sure nothing is going on with iron, etc.

Rants/Raves: I'm finally feeling baby higher up and even saw my belly moving some. Wasn't sure with the anterior placenta but seems normal right now.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Some kind of festival tour. Primus, Beck. I can't remember who else.
  • Hi all!  I've been MIA lately because work has been super busy (in a good way) and our nights and weekends have been jam packed with no end in sight.  I'm glad to see that everyone is doing well!  I don't have time to tag, but I wanted to drop in to say hi and share my updates.  I'll probably be MIA again for awhile, but I'll try to stop by more often!

    Estimated due date/ weeks + days:  9/27; 22w4d

FTM: What are you most scared about?
    -or-
STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies?  LO2 seems wigglier than DS was, but I am guessing I just feel it more due to the looser muscles.  Or maybe I need to brace myself for a more active child (DS is pretty chill).  :)

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play?  I definitely want them both to be active and do something they love.  I would prefer that neither play football for the same reasons others have cited.  And I second the boring-ness of baseball and softball!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of:  A red bell pepper.

Upcoming Appointments:  June 10 for a boring one.

How are you feeling?:  Great!  Pretty dang tired after hanging out with childless people all weekend who don't apparently have an off switch, but great otherwise!

Rants/Raves:  Rave:  DS is in the language explosion phase and it's so fun!  Rant:  I read "The Giving Tree" to DS this morning and bawled my way through it.  1) What's up with that book being so f'ing sad?!  2) Why can't my hormones take a chill pill?

    Questions: Nothing.

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended?  Chris LeDoux.  I grew up in rural Texas, so he happened to be playing at a rodeo I was at.
  • I'm going to tag in a separate post, but here's my update.
    Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/6, 25w4d
STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies? It's been different, and physically tougher (much more throwing up), but no major symptom differences. I did get sciatica with DS early, and it came and went - it's only just shown up in this pregnancy but it's here now! I move around a lot more home with a toddler, which has its pluses I'm sure but has meant physically I'm way more exhausted and sore.
Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? Team Pink! But this answer applies to baby girl and DS equally. Football, wrestling (thanks @calliah, that hadn't even occurred to me!), gymnastics, hockey (too expensive) are ones that are a big no and most of those (maybe not gymnastics?) I'd veto. I'm not a big sports person, and not athletic, but DH played soccer (and still loves to when he has the chance) and he's already had DS kicking around a little soccer ball (most of the time DS throws it still but he gets some kicks in too!) so I'm expecting both kids will at least try soccer. I think it would be good for exercise and teamwork. Before having DS I was dreading one of my kids want to do dance, but now I actually have a lot of fun dancing around the house with DS and have had a change of heart. I did music growing up and would like the kids to have lessons to see if they like it (not the violin, though!!).
Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: eggplant?
Upcoming Appointments: just had one this morning! A routine one in a month, and have to stop by the lab for the 1 hr glucose test between 26 and 28 weeks
How are you feeling?: OK! Tired, very achy at night, sciatica pain and RLP really team up to get me in the evening! Sleep has been very hit and miss (mostly miss).
Rants/Raves: DS did so good at my appointment this morning even though he's scared of doctor's offices due to remembering getting shots, (it was the first one DH hadn't come to so it was just me and DS), and I was so proud of him!
    Questions: Not really
GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Some sort of outdoor symphony orchestra summer thing, I'm sure. I went to one every summer with my mom as a little kid. Haven't been to a concert of any kind as an adult, oops!
  • @lillywonderland so glad you had a great trip! I feel like DS is getting so much more out of experiences lately, compared to even a couple months ago (he's 21 months) and it's amazing to see. And happy birthday to your DS!
@nomangos23 DH is hoping our kids don't want to play baseball, he thinks it's so boring to watch the games. Good luck at your appointment!!
@duewithpu2 I'm so sorry about your cat. That must have been tough to tell DS, but definitely the approach I would want to take too.
@cammie0526 I agree about a mom group - I didn't do that with DS, but wish I did.
@themadcamel yay for the new car, and for only another week or so of work!
@kaceyallan oh that does sound stressful, worrying if YH will be at work. I'm having some anxiety about logistical things around labor too (mostly worrying about not having someone to watch DS, so DH can be with me at the hospital - I really don't want to be there alone!) and the inability to pin down a date in particular to work around is just hard.
  • RedBreast35  My DH will be able to leave work during his shift once I make the call to say I am in labour. But with such a long drive there is always the possibility he could miss the birth, and he will definitely miss a good chunk of the labouring. He is taking off a shift around my due date, which gives us a 3 week window where he will be home. I have everything crossed that baby will cooperate and come around that time.

supermom34482 My feet only just started hurting yesterday for no apparent reason. I'll keep an eye on it over the next week and bring it up at my next appt. Although using a tennis ball to massage them out isn't a bad idea in general, plantar fasciitis or not! Also, so jealous you have seen Spice Girls!!

@ternsetc Being alone during labour/delivery terrifies me, but I don't know that I want anyone else there except my DH. I've been thinking about getting a doula, just so I have support, but it's hard to justify the cost of one.

Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 25 weeks 4 day

STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies? This time around a had morning sickness which was new to me. Also I can feel this little one kick so much more because my placenta is in the back with my daughter it was in the front. It crazy the difference it makes.

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? Team pink. I am game for watching any sport I think it would be cool to have one daughter into sports and the other more girly.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: baby is the size of a baseball glove.

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow I have a check up ... I love hearing her little heart beat!

How are you feeling?: I am feeling good. Tired but that could be from running after a 19 month old.

Rants/Raves: My daughter finally got her appointment for June 17th to get tubes in her ears. Also my husband took Friday off and cleaned the house it was so nice to come home and not have to worry about cleaning up on the weekend.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? I think it was Sum 41
  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: Sept 25/23 weeks

STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies? About the same except this one does not have an anterior placenta so I feel baby so much more!

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? Team Blue-would love if he was musical or had a passion for music/probably will like hockey because all the boys in town play and that terrifies me!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: baby is the size of a Barbie doll

Upcoming Appointments: next thursday for a quick check up

How are you feeling?: Tired all the time. I have given up on waiting for the second tri energy to kick in. Pregnancy with a toddler seems to mean I will never not be tired!

    Rants/Raves: Rave-1 week to V-day!

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Backstreet Boys!

  • @supermom34482 -Each kiddo has gotten their own furniture only because each kid has their own room. Our crib turns into a full size bed so DS1 will keep that forever hopefully and we are just getting a different set for DS2.

I'll do tags in a separate post :)

    Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/23, 23+2

FTM: What are you most scared about? Stillbirth and SIDS. I am pretty nervous about just being a mother in general and how I’m going to keep up with it. I am so used to my own schedule that I’m worried it will really be hard for me to adjust.

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? Pink! I think the only sport I’d be bummed if she was super into is competitive fast pitch. I played recreationally when I was younger, but it seemed way too intense and just not for me. I would love if she was into golf.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Fist is the size of a dice.

Upcoming Appointments: Not for a couple of weeks

How are you feeling?:  Honestly? Not great. I’ve been feeling super sick for the past week. Just nauseous and crummy. I almost wonder if I have a low-grade cold or flu. I have also been in pain when I walk or try to get dressed. So that hasn’t been super fun.

Rants/Raves: We had a fun weekend. We ended up taking a mini roadtrip to Zion NP and then spent a night in Vegas with some friends. I probably won’t do another roadtrip while pregnant, but it was nice to get out.

    Questions: Nada

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Switchfoot

  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/28 22+4

FTM: What are you most scared about? Labor and delivery. I'm not good with blood or needles and watching the bachelorette the other night didn't help.

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? I'm a huge soccer fan. Played my from 5 years old on up and somehow I turned my football loving husband into a soccer nut. So I definitely hope soccer is in our future.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: mr potato head!

Upcoming Appointments: just had my normal OB appointment today and have my AS follow up on 6/7. Everything went well today.

    How are you feeling?: Big!

Rants/Raves: We just got back from our babymoon in Florida. It was so nice to get away and enjoy the beach. Even went to a spring where the water was so clear!

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Ed Sheeran!!! He is an amazing musician!
  • @kgg2241 I love Zion NP!
  • @LJMoon6 I didn't feel high movement until like right at the end of 24 weeks. At 25 I got my first hard kick up by my ribs in the middle of the night.
  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/22 23+3

FTM: What are you most scared about?  Getting the postpartum blues/depression.  I'm not looking forward to another long, cold winter cooped up with an infant.

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? Blue.  Anything but soccer.  I find it so boring. My main sport growing up was gymnastics which I did until I went to college.  I also tried dance, softball, and basketball when I was younger and did a season of cross country and track & field in high school. My husband wasn't as athletic and didn't try as many sports.  He did cross country in high school I think.  I'm all for our son trying lots of different things and seeing what he likes.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Chinchilla

Upcoming Appointments: Monday for glucose test and 24 weeks appt

How are you feeling?: Pretty good still. Keeping up with regular workouts but I do get tired afterwards.

Rants/Raves:  Had to turn the heat back on in the house.  Will it ever be summer?

    Questions:

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Rustic Overtones.
  • @LJMoon6 - Yup, Wisconsin here! Land of Hockey and Football!!

    @pj_soccer  love Ed sheeran!

@themadcamel your fear made me LOL.. I was petrified of that too but when it comes time to push you will be thrilled to get the baby out of you by that point Haha. Hope your last few days of school wrap up nicely! Cheers to summer vacation!

Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 23 weeks 2 days

STM/ STM+: Any major differences between pregnancies? I was a lot more nauseous and sick during the first trimester this pregnancy. Other than that they are pretty similar

Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? I’d love for both my kids to play soccer. Football scares me! So many injuries. I’d love for our daughter to be into dance. But in the scheme of things it’s all about what they like and want to participate in. I will let expose them to various sports and activities and let them decide :)

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: baby fingers are as long as a coffee bean

    Upcoming Appointments: 2 weeks away

How are you feeling?: pretty good

    Rants/Raves: none at the moment

Questions: for STMs/+ was your second labor and delivery faster than your first?

GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? *NSYNC! Haha
  • @septoctkids my first, active labor was 10 hours (3 of which were spent pushing). My second, active labor was roughly an hour (pushing was 5 mins).  My third, I told the doctor not to leave the room after breaking my water knowing it would go quickly from there. She was born within 15 min.
  • @kiddiesandkitties So the next one will be 5 minutes?!? Holy crap. On the one hand i’m super jealous your labors have been so short, but on the other hand that is scary they are so short now because you could literally have one contraction and be all BOOM here is baby!
  • @lillywonderland LITERALLY THOUGH. We are planning a home birth for this baby and the fact that the hospital is 30min + traffic from our house was a major piece of making that decision. I would 100% have a car baby on the side of the highway. With DD2, my husband caught her because no one believed me when I said COME NOW and no nurses or doctor made it into the room in time. They walked in and he had her in his arms. I literally can feel my body pushing when it's time (even if I try not to) and haven't had to 'actively push' either of the last two out.
