Re: May Randoms

  • What does everyone have planned today?

I plan to do some packing this morning while the kids play and then I will take a nap while the kids nap 😁 Then, I plan to take the kids to the pool this afternoon. I would go to the pool this morning but I'm hoping to miss the crowds by going in the afternoon.

After this week I only have 16 days to get everything packed away. 😳 I told DH I was tossing some of the girl clothes I saved and he was like, "but what if we have another girl?" I guess he is seriously on board with 1 more baby after this one. He is pretty certain it will be a girl too. *TW* We have had boy, girl, boy, girl, girl (angel baby), boy (current pregnancy). *TW*  So I guess it could be a girl. I'm so excited, 1 more baby will definitely complete our family. I will for sure be done after that. 😂

  • Aw that’s sweet @emeraldcity1214. And the girl clothes are the cutest IMO. So you guys are off in 16 days?!

today I’m mainly just hanging out at home. I have some work to do, but for now I’m just hanging out on the porch while DS plays with the water table and stuff. I also need to make some breakfast egg cups/breakfast sandwiches to freeze today. MH has worked all weekend so I’ve pretty much been on my own with DS. I thought maybe he’d sleep in today, but no luck.
  • @creamcheeseplease we actually roll out on June 18th but I need to have it all ready to go by the 16th because that's when the movers come. Then we are headed to Wisconsin for a family reunion and from there we will go through Canada to drive into AK.
  • Today we are going to the Zoo before it rains and then hopefully getting some yard work in this afternoon. We plan on building our toddler a swing set and sandbox for her 3rd birthday in June and need to get some stuff cleared out to start on that. Im so excited to have some more stuff in our yard that she can do this summer. We also put up a small pool for her (after I popped the other one while trying to put it up!) but it will take forever for it to be warm enough to comfortably play in. I actually carried 3 huge buckets of hot hot water from the bathtub out as well as a pot of boiling water. It made it tolerable. And it is only filled about 4 inches right now because Im hoping the less water the easier it will be to heat it up!
  • Inspired by @creamcheeseplease I had a bagel with veggie cream cheese and an iced coffee for breakfast and now my husband and I are booking places to stay for our upcoming UK vacay. I think we have shifted from thinking we wanted more time in London to deciding we want 4 nights at Isle of Skye in Scotland. That sounds more relaxing.

I took 2 Diclegis before bed and slept like a rock! I'm just taking it easy with MH this morning. I have a little bit of actual work to do and he's helping me with it.

It's actually sunny here so I'm hoping we can go for a walk later and grill something this afternoon : ) Those are my wild plans for the day!! Party animals over here.
  • @Dancer688 that’s awesome!  The Seaport area is fun and nice to walk around the water or grab a bite to eat, the SoWa Market is open on the weekends now,  the Public Garden is always pretty in the summer and the swan boats are open now, and that’s close to Newbury St. for shopping and a lot of little places for lunch.  We ate at Eataly last time we were in and that was fun to walk around, especially if you get a rainy day.
  • So I took a little over a week break from posting. I have a rough week at work and didn’t have anytime to get on here. This past weekend I took a trip up to Long Island to my parents house out on the north fork in wine country.. which was slightly torturous lol. Though I did have a tiny glass of white which was probably about 2-3 ounces and drank it over the course of an hour. To which my grandma shouted I drank and smoked a lot more than that with all 6 of mine and they’re all fine 😂😂. Anyways I came back and had 89 unread posts on this thread alone!! Took so I caught up all morning while getting ready for work.

Not to rehash anything but- also need a good cleaning schedule; and am not looking forward to stinky car seats from all your horror stories!  Hahaha

I’ll have to go check out the thread idea thread now!
  • @kopp5988 I think I'm going to go with a cleaning schedule that rotates every 2 weeks for deep cleaning and then have the daily stuff on top of that. Hopefully I will only be cleaning 1.5 hours per day tops. The house we are moving to has more carpet and I never thought I would say it but I'm kinda excited about it. Vacuuming is so much easier to do than sweeping and mopping all this tile. Plus it's hard to find the time for it when I'm not exhausted because the kids slip and fall before I can get it dried with a towel.

@emeraldcity1214 FINALLY someone agrees about vacuuming being easier! I swear everyone I know is all "oh I hate vacuuming I want hard floor so I dont have to vacuum again" like what?? No, sweeping and mopping is so much worse! It doesnt matter how long I sweep I always miss something, and my tiled area is really small but it is SUCH a chore.
  • @angieeeeee I can never get all the crumbs up when I sweep so I actually have a tile vacuum cleaner. So I sweep stuff away from the walls, then vacuum the entire area, then I have to mop and dry the floors. Even after I mop, the floors don't seem clean enough. I refuse to get on my hands and knees to clean them. My biggest issue is the grout. Mine is beige and I can tell when they get darker and then need to clean them. If I had tile again, I would want the kind that looks like hardwood and has dark grout. So even though it is getting dirt stuck in the grout, I can't see it happening.
  • I love how solid surface floors look but upkeep is an issue.  I have three cats so it is easier to clean up in some ways (though tumble-weeds of cat fur becomes a thing), but I hate mopping.   I would much rather vacuum than mop.
  • @drama_llama I walked into my formal dining room the other day and found a mountain of cat hair. He hangs out in that room because no one ever goes in there. I tackled that job with my hard floor vacuum. 😂 My dog sheds in cotton balls because he is a poodle. It is very rare for it to even happen but when it does, it's little clumps.
  • I hate the feeling of grit on my feet but also hate wearing shoes and socks.  So I am all about carpet versus tile/wood floors. I also have super boney ankles so if I sit cross legged on the floor hard floors hurt my ankles and make me cranky. I love soft, plush carpet. Makes me want to lay down and make carpet angels.

Also, our dogs shed hardcore twice a year. Carpet the clumps stay where they are and are easily vaccumed up. Vinyl in the backroom they blow like tumble weeds. Over it. And I find vaccuming to be therapeutic. Sweeping dusting and mopping not so much.

  • Also on team vacuuming>sweeping. I love the way the floors look freshly vacuumed with straight lines. I spent about a half hour cleaning two of our bathrooms this morning because I didn’t have enough time to hit the gym (and then make myself presentable) before a morning meeting. Didn’t have time to do the tub/shower but at least it was something!
  • This is going to be super random and off-topic compared to the cleaning talk but.  It is the end of the month and I get unreasonably excited seeing another BMB go up.  It is a physical reminder that we are getting closer to the end of pregnancy.  I can't believe we are already in month 4 heading closely to 5 for some.
  • @dancer688 same! I get so excited when another bmb is formed!

@dancer688 @creamcheeseplease It's so wild!! I think it freaks me out rather than making me excited lol

I feel like it's happening so fast!!

  • I get excited about new BMBs going up. Some of us are getting close to half way now, which is CRAZY!
  • Im just not in the mood today. I dont want to do work, I just want to lay around with my toddler while she watches 18 hours of paw patrol. I know if I keep plugging away at work I will feel better but it is just pissing me off. Setting a goal to have 5 things knocked off my list in the next half an hour.
  • I borrowed my neighbors doppler because I can feel myself slipping into anxiety mode while I wait 2 more weeks for my next appt. It was such a relief to hear/see that little heartbeat on the screen! Thankfully shes a month away from having her baby and just told me to just keep it for a bit! Once I start feeling movement I'll feel more relaxed hopefully. That was my favorite part of being pregnant last time.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • @gumby22c - That is so nice!  My appointment is tomorrow for a heartbeat check - Thank god.  But it is really crazy how for the first 2 weeks between appointments I am cool, and then the third week I am like...hmmm...I haven't felt the baby or had any crazy pregnancy things lately.  4th week I am like convinced there is something wrong.  These month long waits in the beginning are terrible.  At least after this one it is 4 weeks but there is an ultrasound at the end of that tunnel.
  • @Dancer688 oh my gosh this is me every time!! First week Im on cloud 9, second week Im feeling like time is flying by, 3rd week I start questioning every symptom, and by 4th week I just assume Im about to get terrible news. I am SUPER excited to end this next 4 week wait with the big scan though!!
  • I hate my job so much, and I hate my supervisor. He does not communicate with me at all when he volunteers me for something. So I just start to get things sent to me, with no background or information. I have no one to complain about this to either since I'm on a contract and they could care less about my satisfaction level or treating me with any semblance of respect. I really wish I could just quit, but we can't afford that.

@creamcheeseplease I'm sorry hun! That sounds so miserable. I just try to take it one day at a time. I honestly don't think I'll make it till Fall without exploding in rage at everyone here. At least it's Friday and you don't have to see his face for another 2 days!

  • blg116blg116 member
I just BLEW up on my supervisor and manager. Full on "you know what I think it's pretty f...d up that you guys are sending a crewmember to do your bitch work and tell me to go run a different machine instead of telling me yourselves"

Calmed down and apologized to my manager about an hour later, need to hint down my supervisor before midnight and tell him sorry too.
  • @angieeeeee Girl, your pregnancy rage is in full force! I'm glad they aren't the firing type for stuff like that. Although, I don't know what's it is like in your line of work so I can imagine things like that can easily set anyone off.

I usually have bad pregnancy rage so just know I'm not judging. 😂 This pregnancy it has just happened to be more tears all the time but that has to do with the crap that has gone down in my life since last December.

@emeraldcity1214 I basically work in a mill and they're pretty chill. It was an overreaction to the situation, but my manager acknowledged that I had every right to be upset about it. My coworker took it upon herself to tell me something she had overheard the manager and supervisor discussing, and she shouldn't have done it. Honestly, I probably would have reacted the same even if I wasn't pregnant- I do tend to have a short temper, and the lack of communication there has set it off a few times. Luckily the fact that I'm a damn hard worker and knowledgeable about a lot of stuff there (and that I get along well with everyone) saves me from getting in trouble when I lose it.... although I know I do really need to work on that, and I have been.
