Had our A/S today and baby girl looked great! She was wiggling around but kept moving exactly like the tech needed so we were able to get all measurements. Dr said no concerns. What a relief to be done!
We had our anatomy scan today! Baby is still a girl (obviously I didn't expect her sex to change, but seeing her anatomy helped confirm the answer in my brain, LOL). She was very active and moving around in all the right ways for the ultrasound tech to get all the pics she needed. No immediate concerns with what we saw, so I am very relieved. It was so amazing to see her! ❤❤
@marbellie, I am so glad you had a good scan too! I was bummed I didn't have time to log on to TB Friday morning to wish you luck, but I was sending you good vibes from afar! ❤

Omg. I’m not the only one who feels this way?! My A/S is in 3 days! I can’t wait to have that small sense of relief.

We had our AS this morning and from what the tech could tell us, everything she saw today looked fine, just have to get the doctor to confirm. Apparently I was having a contraction so they couldn’t get all the pictures she needed so we have to go back in a couple of weeks. They confirmed it’s a boy and we did get to see him yawn. 🥰 I did cry just a little bit... damn hormones.
I had mine this morning and everything came back looking good. It was the first time they didn't find a possible abnormality or had to come back for better shots so I'm pretty psyched about that!
Just had my anatomy scan today! This little guy is so active, they couldn’t get one of the heart pictures they need, but he otherwise looks great and is measuring a week ahead! He also moves and kicks so strongly— the US tech even felt him kick and she said she rarely feels kicks during scans this early (I’m 21 weeks).
Anyway, I also have placenta previa that is covering my cervix, so I’m on pelvic rest for at least the next 4 weeks, when I’ll have my next US to see if it’s moving. I’m the most bummed that I have to modify exercise, I’m sure H will be more bummed about the no sex thing 🤣.
Had my AS today! Everything looks healthy and he’s definitely a boy. It was so nice to see him being so active. Confirmed that my placenta is anterior and it’s crazy how different it feels than my last two (posterior). I’m kind of sad about how much less I feel movement than my last two pregnancies.
Had the anatomy scan today. Confirmed it's a baby boy. Everything looked good! He has a big head, even the NP said it was big but normal. lol. Hopefully it'll even out before he's ready to come out. We took DD1. In the middle of the scan the lightbulb went off and she goes, how is the baby going to get outta there?! LOL!!! The tech said something else so we dodged that one. She's 3.5 y/o so doesn't completely get it.
Wasn't a fan of the US tech though, she finished the scan so quick, didn't let us really get a good look of him moving around much, which would've been nice, especially since we had DD1 with us.
@PenelopeSnuz77 They said today that I have an anterior placenta, but I feel a ton of movement (flutters since I'm only 18+5) compared to DD1. I never felt her a ton, but they never said anything about an anterior placenta with her.
We had our AS today. Not much to say except that it was fun to see our little boy..the tech said he was in a difficult position to get some pictures and we have to go back Monday. Hopefully he'll be in a more optimal position. I'm glad we get to see him again so soon.
We had our anatomy scan yesterday! We don’t get results right away but the ultrasound lady thought Tuesday. I was surprised by the internal ultrasound to measure my cervix. I text my friend who does ultrasounds, because I was worried something looked off so they did the internal. She said that’s protocol at some places, so just a heads up!

Yes, but you can decline it. It’s routine if you go to a MFM, and varies by OB. A tech can get the measurements abdominally if they’re trained correctly.
@SLou24 I hope your p.p. resolves. I had to refrain from working out the first 3 months so I understand your frustration there!
@PenelopeSnuz77 I learned I have an anterior placenta as well and my doc said the same thing! Lots more cushioning between baby and belly with the placenta there so I don’t feel the kicks as easy.
So we had the anatomy scan on Thursday. Got lots of pics and baby girl was moving around a lot. The tech was very nice and helpful, and although the doc wasn't there to read the scans she did show me that babe has a low lying placenta, which will hopefully resolve itself as the uterus continues to grow.
*TW*
The doc called the next day to discuss results which threw me a little of balance. She said baby girl had an echogenic bowel, which has been difficult for me to research in lay terms. It seems it can mean anything from nothing, all the way to cystic fibrosis, down's, or even an infection that can mean loss. Still processing and trying not to worry, but it's tough. Again they'll be monitoring it, but next US won't be for 6 weeks so I'm relying on baby girl to keep on kicking me every day.
*TW END*
For those of you that have an anterior placenta, it seems to me that there is still a range of feeling that could surprise you. First pregnancy I had one, but interestingly I felt kicks stronger and sooner than I am for this second pregnancy. I asked at the appt assumung they would say that I again have an anterior, just judging on the muted feeling of the kicks, despite every time I see her on US she's moving around like crazy. So you may be surprised that you may feel more than you think you will. I remember SO was even woken up once last pregnancy with a kick to the back when we were spooned, so it's not impossible.

@cooaladolly I've never heard of that but hopefully it ends up being nothing. Hope you can keep your mind occupied and at ease and that these 6 weeks fly by for you. In my thoughts!
@cooaladolly I’m sorry for the added stress. 6 weeks is a long time to wait but hopefully the fact that she’s a kicker will help put your mind at ease. Sending all the positive vibes that it ends up being okay ❤️
@cooaladolly I'm sorry for the unsettling news. If it were me i'd call and ask to be seen so you can talk and ask you're question to someone in person. That's something lousy to do over the phone.
@cooaladolly How stressful! I agree with @kindbytealikat, it might be good to see if you can sit down with your dr and understand it more. Either way, thinking of you right now!
Thanks guys. @kindbytealikat and @jenferlee82 it stems from the canceled appt on Wednesday. When they fit me in for Thursday it was after normal doctor hours, otherwise I would have seen her right after the scan itself. The MFM doc didn't seem to be overly concerned, but she also has a very strong accent which makes her hard to understand, in person or on the phone. I'm prob just gonna wait it out til my OB appt and discuss with him. As far as I can tell, I've done all the testing that they can do for it up to this point anyway (NIPT and genetic marker testing) and I opted against doing amnio.
ETA: the MFM doc technically did tell me all of this on the phone, and was very helpful, asking if I had any other questions. It's more just me and my "need to know now" desire that's causing the stress.

@cooaladolly I'm sorry that your results are leaving concerns. Maybe you can call and discuss over the phone with the OB (or a nurse)? It is some solace that the MFM didn't seem worried but I do understand that the thick accent can make it hard to gauge. Sending lots of positive vibes ❤
@cooaladolly so sorry about the added stress from your scan. The last thing you want after the anatomy scan is more questions. I hope it turns out to be no big deal and that you get answers soon. 🤞🏻❤️
Awww you guys are all such sweethearts! Thank you for all your kind comments. I took a couple days away from the board to just chill out a bit and it's helped a lot. Feeling a lot more grounded and secure now.

Had my anatomy exam today! We had a Hygroma on his neck since week 13 and it's been such a roller coaster since then. Thankfully the Hygroma is now gone and he looks like a totally normal baby! We've done all the tests from genetic and chromosal abnormalities and they all came back normal. They truly think he will be ok ♥️♥️ so nice to finally be able to breathe and not be anxious haha
It’s a boy! 💙 DS is a little disappointed but we’ll get there.
I’m sure the midwife will go over the results with me at my appointment next week but the gist I got from the tech is that all is well. Baby boy is measuring a few days ahead. Now the hard part...names!
We had our AS today and it didn't go quite as well as I'd hoped. Baby wouldn't turn into a position for them to see everything they wanted to see, but more importantly, we learned he has an echogenic bowel. Apparently, this can be found in 1-2% of pregnancies and most of the time it is nothing to worry about, but it can be an indicator of more serious issues. Options to find out any potential health problems today were amnio or a blood test. Since we'd already done genetic screenings to rule out two of the three possible health problems that the amnio would test for, we chose to only do the blood test to see if there is a sign of fetal infection. Additionally we will return in two weeks for another anatomy scan to monitor and get the rest of the views they were hoping to see today.
I was already a bit on edge because my Maternal Serum AFP results came back on the high end of normal range, so this is definitely causing more worry. The good news is they didn't find any evidence of birth defects today, so I'm trying to focus on that positive and just continue to hope that the echogenic bowel ends up being a non-issue.

Also, great news on your scan today!
