I'm imagining that they are using my blood to create clones of me since I'm just that awesome.
Then the automated "nurse" called to follow up with "how I'm recovering". I hung up after the first question which was "Before being discharged, you were provided discharge instructions to aid in your recovery. Do you have any questions regarding the instructions?". I clicked 1 for Yes hoping it would break out to a real person, not the robo-nurse, but nope. It moved on the to the second question. First of all, I didnt receive any results...the "instruction" was to go home and wait for the phone call, which never came in. Second, the "instructions" were all about slipped disks and back pain (hello!, my CALF was hurting, not my back and no where close to where sciatic pain touches) so that isnt very helpful! But yeah...I couldnt break out of the automated recording so after it started asking me the next irrelevant question, I just hung up.

My BF is...I just heard from work. I got cleared for "light duties" (ie desk work) on Friday last week. I just found out they currently have no placement available for me on light duties. And that means I just remain on unpaid leave. Which...is an issue if they are unable to find a placement for me for the next 4 months. It means I just have no income at all for 4 months. Which is rather stressful with the whole ..buying a new house, moving, $10k cost for injections etc... Not to mention costs of a first baby...... I think I might cry...
@chillycanadian - OH NO!!!!!!!! Why the clearance? Is it SOP? Or is it something your doctor put in for? That really, really sucks You're welcome to come down here and bask in the warm, sunshine and enjoy our unlimited pool pass. FX something comes up and you can - at least - have a few more months under your belt. So sorry.

I was on bed rest for most of the pregnancy. OB has slowly been lifting restrictions. I've had...I think 4 weeks+ on the blood thinner injections with no major side effects, and stopped the progesterone 2 weeks ago without issue as well. No spotting in 2 months. So OB agreed to clear me to go back to work. (But not on the ambulance since that's dangerous. High risk of getting assaulted. Plus unpredictable situations/environment exposure, heavy lifting (often lifting 200lb+ people off the ground, plus lifing people on the 150lb stretcher.... ) Plus risk being in an MVC while unbuckled and attending a patient (which actually happened when I was 4 weeks pregnant in December....) Anyway....not the safest job for a high risk pregnancy haha. So he only wants me doing desk work. But since it's not a work related injury, work is under no obligation to provide me with accommodation.
@chillycanadian I'm glad you loved the cookies! I'm sorry about the job though, hopefully they find you a placement ASAP!
@sourlemon Is there a social worker or someone along those lines you could contact at the hospital? This has been really poor handling and you need them to do your blood work! What the heck?!
I may have to dredge up the monster-in-law thread. MIL is being a huge PITA regarding Mother’s Day. I called DH out on the absurdity of me having to plan everything, esp. w/ his family, and he actually stepped up and booked a reservation for the 2 of us in case his family flakes out on us completely. Then he told his mother he had done that (no idea why 🤦🏻♀️) and she flipped out. She’s boycotting doing anything on Saturday b/c my FIL is on some stupid fishing trip. So now we’re back to scrambling to find some place that actually has a table big enough to accommodate us at a time that works for her (she won’t come if she can’t go to church first) and since they won’t be down until later (noon-ish) I’m going to have to skip my weekly prenatal yoga class.
To top it off, MIL yelled at DH on the phone tonight about us not telling her more about how my appt went today. This is after I included her in a group text w/ DH & my parents telling them all the approximate weights and general measurements from the US, comparative amniotic fluid levels between the twins, my cervical length, and passed along the assurance from my NP that everything “looked great.” I literally had nothing left to mention, unless the crazy bat wanted to know my blood pressure and exact weight gain.
@aecm Your MIL sounds like a peach. Will your H support you in saying next year it’s about you? (Are you a FTM?). Maybe your MIL wanted more details like if you discussed hemorrhoids or constipation with your OB 🤷♀️ MH doesn’t even want as much info as you gave her in the first place!
We bought a new truck on monday. We sold our little truck and purchased one with a real backseat to fit a car seat. Now we have two trucks with crew cabs for car seat placement. Anyway, I ordered running boards for it as it is taller than our other truck. They were suppose to be delivered today but apparently USPS decided that we have MOVED??????? Not sure how they got that idea. Our friggin names are at the front of the driveway right near the address numbers. Lazy postal worker most likely. So Amazon sent them back to the seller! I'm calling the post office to give them a piece of my mind in the morning and I complained on Amazon so they gave me over night shipping on a second set. I'm hella short and pregnant. I need those running boards LOL. First world problems!
@jrm_14 I’m going to be a STM....and DH always sides with whatever MIL wants, so as long as she’s around I’m definitely not the priority. It’s a shame I love our house and community so much, otherwise I would be all for moving halfway across the country to get space from her.
I know it’s Thursday but last night MH decided he didn’t want to deal with the differences between his mother and I with raising OUR son so he wants me to quit my job and be a SAHM. I have nothing against SAHMs I think you are all rockstars but I love my job and it’s my sanity. My students would be devastated if I wasn’t working there. He said for our family this is the best option.’ No jerk. Stand up to your mother and tell her to take a seat when it comes to how we are raising our son. I have 6 weeks left before school ends then I’ll be off for the summer and for a few months after the baby is born. I feel such relief knowing that summer is coming and she won’t be living with us anymore but the thought of not going back to work is so upsetting.
@mia8263 That is so many degrees of wrong. That should be a discussion between only the two of you and not anyone else, but really the decision should be your's. Did you ever talk about staying home before getting pregnant? I'd be fuming. I'm sorry. Hopefully the two of you can come to a decision together.

I’m a SAHM but it was 100% my choice...and it’s not always easy so if it wasn’t completely my choice I would probably be super miserable. (Too bad we can’t switch our husbands’ opinions, he’s usually not too vocal about it but I know mine would love for me to go back to work).

@aecm I think SAHMs are amazing but it should definitely be moms decision. I’m off with them during the summer and school holidays and I’m so eager to return to work so I’m not ready to be home all the time with them.
So...had an OB appointment today. Last one was 6 days ago. I wasn't sure why I was even going in again. It's a 30 min drive each way. Parking is $4/hr on the street. And he is ALWAYS behind. Waited Literally an hour after my appointment to get seen. And it's like that every. Time. 60-80 min wait. So a 7 minute appointment takes like...2.5 hours. Urg.
ETA: oh and also, our carseat and stroller arrived today from Amazon. Was super excited until I discovered the carseat has a manufacture date of April 2016!! 😡

My BF: Have a near-3 y.o. I'd love to ship off for a few days. She's a lot of fun, super funny, and cute as hell ... but oh-my-goodness. I've been slowly pushing her bedtime backwards (she wasn't falling asleep until almost 9:30 and then waking up at 5:45 - NOPE!) this week and she finally slept until about 6:30 this morning (about the time we get up). But last night, DH was adamant on going back to check on her and I refused to let him because it'll only rile her up: my rule is, once we say goodnight and the door is closed, that's it until morning. So he grabbed the monitor. That little thing had gotten out of bed, turned on her light, and found her easter basket in her closed closet and rummaged through it to find 2 Reese's cups. She had chocolate all over her face and her hands. O. M. G. After I went in and wiped her down, she was sweet as can be and was asleep within moments of an "I LOVE YOU BIG, MOMMY" as I shut the door. WTF. Then, she got out of bed at 2:30 and was about to play with bubbles (where she found them, I have no clue). I got her back in bed and bundled up, sang a few songs, and she went back to sleep (and I took those bubbles with me). I need sleep kid. Mommy's tired. On the other hand, DH took today off to do all the yardwork so I'm hoping he'll have plenty of time this weekend to spend with us and/or maybe give me some "me" time now that the pool is open. FX and wishful thinking.

Monday we bought a new truck. Like most new trucks its higher than your average vehicle. I ordered running boards to help me get in it as it is suppose to be my daily driver, I'm short and pregnant. Ordered running boards monday night Amazon prime. Wednesday came and the tracking said they were "out for delivery". At 4:30 they updated to say "Customer Moved, Not deliverable, Returned to Amazon". My name is literally on the gate, I haven't moved and I had NO package tag in my mailbox giving me the option to get it from the USPS the next day. I don't understand WHY they would do that? Its standard procedure to give me a chance to get the package from the office. They said the package wouldn't fit in their trucks so they should have done this instead of returning it. Annoyed I got a refund and ordered a second identical item Wednesday night. I called USPS Thursday morning and spoke with the post master. I asked her to PLEASE not return this item. I will be in Friday to pick it up. Friday comes, my tracking says it is at the USPS since 9:30 am. The package is 46 lbs and 85 inches long so I had my husband meet me there on his lunch at 12. USPS looks and says the package is not there. The worker calls me a liar and says my tracking is wrong. He himself signed to REFUSE the package at the direction of the post master whom I had spoken to on wednesday. So I'm pissed. I need this item, its day 4 of this baloney, I had my husband meet me there and I should have had it on wednesday. Conveniently the Post master is on lunch. They say to call in an hour. So I leave, very obviously pissed. I'm an Aries. If my mouth doesn't say it, my face will. I get in my truck and call Amazon. They say UPS has the package now (?????????) and it will be delivered. I said I wanted a refund. I pay to be a prime member for a reason and I should not have to deal with this. We settled on a 50% refund and the package was at my house that afternoon. I'm happy with the refund and the product but good lawd

Monday we bought a new truck. Like most new trucks its higher than your average vehicle. I ordered running boards to help me get in it as it is suppose to be my daily driver, I'm short and pregnant. Ordered running boards monday night Amazon prime. Wednesday came and the tracking said they were "out for delivery". At 4:30 they updated to say "Customer Moved, Not deliverable, Returned to Amazon". My name is literally on the gate, I haven't moved and I had NO package tag in my mailbox giving me the option to get it from the USPS the next day. I don't understand WHY they would do that? Its standard procedure to give me a chance to get the package from the office. They said the package wouldn't fit in their trucks so they should have done this instead of returning it. Annoyed I got a refund and ordered a second identical item Wednesday night. I called USPS Thursday morning and spoke with the post master. I asked her to PLEASE not return this item. I will be in Friday to pick it up. Friday comes, my tracking says it is at the USPS since 9:30 am. The package is 46 lbs and 85 inches long so I had my husband meet me there on his lunch at 12. USPS looks and says the package is not there. The worker calls me a liar and says my tracking is wrong. He himself signed to REFUSE the package at the direction of the post master whom I had spoken to on wednesday. So I'm pissed. I need this item, its day 4 of this baloney, I had my husband meet me there and I should have had it on wednesday. Conveniently the Post master is on lunch. They say to call in an hour. So I leave, very obviously pissed. I'm an Aries. If my mouth doesn't say it, my face will. I get in my truck and call Amazon. They say UPS has the package now (?????????) and it will be delivered. I said I wanted a refund. I pay to be a prime member for a reason and I should not have to deal with this. We settled on a 50% refund and the package was at my house that afternoon. I'm happy with the refund and the product but good lawd
