@italianmommy8 OMG! What does this mean? Why can’t anything be straight-forward?? I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this!
@Tulips29 How are you doing? 4dpt is always when I hit my low point. Is your beta Friday or Saturday? I asked to go in a day early so I didn’t have to drive to the farther clinic for a Saturday draw. Will you do HPTs or wait for the beta?
@Isthisthereallife Thank you for asking. I’ve been doing okay, still more disconnected than usual. Keep forgetting various medications, my endometrin in particular. I totally missed the first dose Saturday because I was busy all morning and kept forgetting it in the couple minutes I’d swing by my house between activities. Almost missed my PIO the other day. Thank goodness for all the reminders on my phone or I’d have missed way more. Some days I have 5 different things to do at different times - supplements (vitamins, folic acid, fish oil), estradiol patches, 3 different endometrins and the PIO. But so far no bleeding at all, so I guess all the progesterone is doing it’s job! Both previous transfers I had bleeding at 4dpt.
I did test this morning and the last couple of mornings but today there was a vv faint line. I thought at first I was imagining it, but it showed up in a picture so it’s not the faintest positive I’ve seen! After multiple losses I’m not ready to celebrate, but at least the first hurdle seems to have been cleared.
@wifeinraleigh28 thanks so much! that made me tear up...i really appreciate your good thoughts, even though i hate that you're still struggling. i'm always here to listen and/or talk. unfortunately i don't have words of wisdom as i can't get myself to get excited over this transfer because i still have a mental image in my head of that bfn phone call and i can still hear the nurse's voice telling me "i'm sorry, your beta came back at zero." this process sucks all the fun out!
@italianmommy8 oh gosh, girl, i'm so sorry you're going through this. my thoughts are with you!

@ittybittybug-2 i'm hanging in there. still don't feel a thing but i'm starting to think maybe this didn't work. my beta is saturday. i was thinking of asking to switch to a friday so i didn't have to drive out there early on saturday, but i can't imagine going to work after and waiting for that phone call. i'll be a nervous wreck all day. at least on saturday i won't have to worry about being emotional at work, no matter the outcome. i have one hpt at home burning a hole in my bathroom vanity, but i'm terrified to test early. DH is super against testing as well. how are you holding up? are you planning to test?

@wifeinraleigh28 seconding ellis’s thoughts. I just wanted to add: most of the women that I know have needed either a second retrieval or a couple transfers to get 1 baby. You know you can get pregnant and you know you can carry to term and you have many embryos left. Try to remember that only like 70% of even PGS cycles are successful so a couple transfers might be needed. It’s just a matter of time (and unfortunately money and emotions 😳) but it will happen.
@italianmommy8 oh man. This sounds similar to what happened to me in February. There were 95% sure I had an ectopic. At surgery, what they thought was an ectopic was just a cyst. Betas were not increasing right so they knew it wasn’t viable. I later grew a gestational sac in my uterus despite misoprostol. I hope the methotrexate takes care of any miscarriage/ ectopic.
Beta #2 11dp5dt at 374. Beta #1 9dp5dt was 202 (2 were transferred). Nurse says the increase is fine. I doubt it’ll be viable twins but I’m hoping 1 is ok and healthy. Jeez this is rough.
@somewhereinnyc that looks like a good increase, it's almost double. are they doing a third beta on thursday for you?

@tulips29 it is hard! I really tried not to test! That lasted literally 3 days. Talk to you hubby and tell him how you're feeling. Maybe he'll decide he wants to test just as bad as you! Or support you to just hold out 3 more days! You made it this long, it's not easy but you can totally do it!!!
So exciting to hear all the good beta news coming across. And then there was my update...
Went in for the ultrasound today and it was not good news. They saw some sort of cyst-like sac, but no fetal pole, definitely no baby, etc. What really pissed me off was the first inept technician told us she saw the baby and it looked to be behind a fibroid and she was having trouble and called in someone else. Obviously she was clueless because the more experienced tech came in and let us know otherwise. Since they pretty well know how the development should be by 6 1/2 weeks with an embryo transfer I don't imagine anything is going to turn around on this. They will have me do an HCG test and also want to make sure I don't have a tubal pregnancy.
This was the only embryo we had and it's very unlikely we will do another IVF cycle now that I'm a year older and we got only one normal embryo of nine from the two cycles we did last year. I guess give some time for the dust to settle and figure out the game plan.
I'm keeping tabs on developments for everyone else, the more good news for you all the better.
@mackorori My heart is completely breaking for you right now. That was the opposite of what I was hoping to see when I came here today to check on everyone. I really have no words other than everything about this just plain sucks. I hope you guys have it in you to try again, but I also understand if you don't. You have to do what you feel is right. I'm just completely shocked by your update. I'm so, so sorry
@Tulips29 Just 3 more days until your beta! Praying for a strong one for you!
Congrats to everyone else getting good news. So happy for you @sadubey and @somewhereinnyc. FX for happy ultrasounds in a couple weeks!

@mackorori I am so sorry to hear that. My thoughts are with you.
AFM, I'm waffling over what to do about my beta. My HPTs are still very faint and I'm wondering if doing it a day early is just going to mean I get a low positive and am in limbo until at least Monday when I'll have the repeat beta and see if it's rising appropriately. If it is low, I won't know if it's just because it's a day early, or if it's because something might be wrong. I had originally asked to do it Friday to get info sooner and save myself the drive to the weekend clinic. My nurse coordinator called today to check in on me, since I had bleeding at 4dpt with both my previous FETs and hadn't reported any yet this time. They think it's a good sign that there's been none this time, but I really wanted a darker test today to feel reassured. Last time, I got a positive the same number of DPT but it didn't darken as much as I expected and then the beta was low. And I had a CP in my first pregnancy with tests that didn't get dark quickly enough. So even though I know that this early just a slightly dilute concentration, or test variation can make the test fainter than the true blood level, it makes me nervous.
@mackorori ugh I’m so so sorry. It breaks my heart to see this update. There’s nothing I can say.. i hope you find a wonderful way to completed your family however you choose..
@wifeinraleigh28 thanks girl. I’m still so nervous after my recent loss tho. I had nightmares and cold sweats last night (google says the latter could be my hormones). Gotta try to be brave and not focus on what-ifs..
@ittybittybug-2 I’d vote to just keep the day they want you to come in? I don’t know the advantage of going in earlier tho..
@mackorori ugh this is a heartbreaking update. I’m so sorry! Really no words.
@ittybittybug-2 I agree with above, I don’t know the benefit of testing earlier. You may get a low beta because it’s early and will be upset. I’d stick to the original beta date. I know it’s so hard to wait though.

@somewhereinnyc and @Tulips29 Sorry! I guess that was confusing. I am currently scheduled for Friday and I'm thinking of making it Saturday. Originally I had asked if I could come on day 8 because Saturdays the only clinic that is open is a fairly long drive, and it would be nice to get the results a little early. They were totally fine with that and scheduled me for day 8 (Friday) and just said that since it's a day earlier than usual, it may seem a little low. But now I'm thinking that if it is a little low I won't know if it's just because it's early, or if it's an indicator of something being wrong and then I'd be in limbo waiting for beta #2 (more than I usually would be, anyway). Since the HPTs have been faint, that's more of a concern to me than I originally realized. So I'm thinking maybe I should reschedule it to Saturday and just deal with the drive.
@ittybittybug-2 ah, i see. i guess it depends on how long the drive is. i probably wouldn't want to go early to avoid worrying afterwards like you said and waiting until beta #2. i was sort of in the same boat and was thinking of asking to do beta tomorrow (day 9) so i could go into the clinic on my way to work. but i decided against it and will go on my originally scheduled date of saturday and drive 30-40 mins to the other clinic early in the morning.
Does anyone know how long it takes for the hcg trigger to fully be out of your system? Specifically, 10,000 iu trigger shot. Google is saying it can take up to 14 days, but with a blood draw by day 9/10, wouldn't be out fully by then?

@ittybittybug-2 ok now I understand. I don’t think there’s a right answer. Do whatever you feel most comfortable with.. for 9dp5dt, I’ve seen a bunch of cut-offs thrown around but those are never a guarantee. I don’t know if the worry ever ends..
@Tulips29 when I did iui, I tested out the trigger answers it was always gone 10 days after I had the shot. Pretty sure your trigger will be gone by when you get blood drawn.. it also goes by half life, decreasing exponentially, so I’m not sure it matters exactly how much hcg was in your shot when it’s about 10 days after or more.
@somewhereinnyc ugh, now i'm driving myself even crazier. so i caved and got 2 cheapie tests last night for shits and giggles and tested. the rest is in spoiler.....
so after testing last night, a faint second line appeared about 6-8 mins after. the line got dark enough after like 45 minutes. now i'm driving myself nuts wondering if it's really a positive or a false via hcg trigger still being in the system. i even threw the test in the trash when nothing showed up after the 3-4 mins like it says on the box and then took it out and saw the second line. same thing happened on the 2nd test this morning. the box says results should appear within 3-4 mins, so the fact that it was longer is making me question everything as well. now i'm beating myself up for testing

@Tulips29 - when I have tested out the trigger, it's usually gone by 2-3 days past my 5dt. The 14-day thing means that it's definitely gone by then, which is the earliest most clinics will do a beta. Cheapie tests are a head case, but for most standard tests, if you read it within 10 minutes, it's probably accurate. Reading after 10 minutes is where it becomes truly problematic. However, if it's an off-brand that may not be the case.
@Tulips29 I am keeping everything crossed for you that this is a true positive!! I was annoyed with myself for testing early too. I feel like if you’re going to test early the only way to do it is to start early enough and test each day until beta. Or not test at all. It’s so hard to know what it all means otherwise. But this could still definitely be a true positive!!

been doing IVF since October. Husband has 0% morphology. He has a 6yo daughter from previous marriage.
i had a miscarriage last cycle and this cycle got pregnant again but the two doctors confirmed ectopic on Sat (now they are saying it wasn’t - found an embryo in the uterus in Tuesday) made us get the methotrexate shots Sunday morning because it was ectopic. Pain in my stomach and in ER almost everyday since Saturday. D&C yesterday as betas continue to rise - possible heterotopic pregnancy but may not of been ectopic only a cyst from stimming before transfer. Confirmed sac and yolk sac Tuesday morning in uterus. Had to do d&c due to methotrexate shots baby in uterus won’t survive. Obviously switching fertility clinics after this big mistake. Nurses making fun of me and hazing me while waking up in recovery yesterday afternoon. Husband thought it was more important to tell me to tell them I feel better because we have to pick up his daughter. I told him last night that I wasn’t his priority and I cant have another baby with him again if I’m not going to be the first priority in an emergency. He said if we aren’t going to have a baby let’s end things. I went back to ER and of course woke up this morning my husband went to work and took my pain medication prescription with him. I guess it was too much for him to fill it before work. How am I going to get through this?
@italianmommy8 i'm so sorry you're going through all this. but wait, did they first tell you it was ectopic and gave you drugs to miscarry and then said there was a baby and yolk sac later but it was too late to save it? am i reading that correctly? isn't that grounds for a lawsuit if so? i'd give them hell! i hope you and your husband can talk this out and work it out. the stress of this entire process can certainly take a toll. please take care of yourself as well!

@italianmommy8 i hope this eases your mind a little: it sounded like you miscarried first from the beta patterns and then they made the wrong diagnosis of ectopic... My hospital thought my early miscarriage a couple months ago was an ectopic. I had the choice of methotrexate vs surgery and I chose the latter for lots of reasons. Misdiagnosis of ectopic happens in early failing pregnancies especially when it’s too early too see a sac (hcg <1000). And they literally have to treat like an ectopic if it is suspected on ultrasound. Because if it is, rupture is unpredictable and can lead to death. It sucks that they did not offer you an option of surgery before giving you that shot that adds 3 months to your timeline. Im sorry. Also extremely unprofessional of the nurses to make fun of you. I would switch clinics too after that experience.
Also sorry that all this is causing tension btwn you and your husband. I hope that the 2 of you can get through this.. maybe the time will help heal a bit. I’m so sorry.
@Tulips29 how exciting! I hope you get your positive. Was it a pink dye or blue dye test? I heard that pink dye tests don’t really get false positives...!
@somewhereinnyc i got the hcg test and it looked like pink dye...the lines are pink. ah, i hope you're right! these last 48 hours will be the slowest of my life.

Yes they said it was ectopic on Sat then gave me the shots on Sun morning then on Tuesday morning there was a sac and yolk sac in the uterus they don’t believe it was ectopic now or they believe it’s possible it was heterotopic pregnancy but couldn’t have uterus pregnancy since they gave me the shots. They said I couldn’t do surgery because they would take my tube with surgery.

@Tulips29 fingers crossed that it's positive! I did 10000 IU trigger shot and never got a true negative. I tested early to try and test it out and it never happened. My nurse told me, however, that the trigger usually dissipated at 1000 IU per day post. So it sounds like it should be out of your system by now.

@Tulips29 thanks girl! Today was my third beta.. so first beta was 202 9dp5dt, second beta 374 11dp5dt, third beta 1163 14dp5dt. Was pretty worried about the doubling time between beta 1 and 2 (54 hours), but this third beta made me feel better (for now..). Fx for your beta tomorrow!!
@somewhereinnyc oh yes, third, duh! I'm so glad it went up so nicely! Now the ultrasound...you have that next week right? And thanks, I'm so nervous about tomorrow!

@Tulips29 yah ultrasound Monday (it’s so early- won’t be much to see). Yah I feel like this nervousness and worry probably doesn’t just go away in this journey.. hope you stay distracted enough to not stress tonight/ tomorrow..
So my beta came back at 35. I don’t know what to think. The nurse kept telling me it’s not a sign of anything yet, she has seen low first beta like this with frozen and natural cycles and as long as it double it’ll be fine. But I can’t shake this feeling that it’s too low and it worries me. Ugh. I don’t know how I’ll get through the next 2 days.

Oh, @Tulips29 I can't imagine how you must feel right now. I really really hope this doubles. Back in Sept 2016 when we did our first FET, there was a girl in our group who started out with a beta of 15 or something, and it just slowly doubles over time and now her daughter is about to turn 2. So it IS possible that you could have a viable pregnancy. Crossing everything for you and hoping the next 2 days don't drag too much.

AFM: We decided to just try naturally this month (why not?) Got a positive OPK yesterday afternoon so here goes nothing. I can't decide if I want to wait an extra month before getting things going again. If I start BC with my next period we'd be looking at a July transfer, or we could wait another month and do an August transfer. I just don't know how ready I am to jump back into everything.

Re: April 2019 FETs
@somewhereinnyc fx for a strong second beta for you today!

@Tulips29 Just 3 more days until your beta! Praying for a strong one for you!
Congrats to everyone else getting good news. So happy for you @sadubey and @somewhereinnyc. FX for happy ultrasounds in a couple weeks!

@sadubey yasss! Nice. What a great rise!
@Tulips29 hope u and hubby get some wonderful news soon.
@ittybittybug-2 I agree with above, I don’t know the benefit of testing earlier. You may get a low beta because it’s early and will be upset. I’d stick to the original beta date. I know it’s so hard to wait though.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the hcg trigger to fully be out of your system? Specifically, 10,000 iu trigger shot. Google is saying it can take up to 14 days, but with a blood draw by day 9/10, wouldn't be out fully by then?

@Tulips29 when I did iui, I tested out the trigger answers it was always gone 10 days after I had the shot. Pretty sure your trigger will be gone by when you get blood drawn.. it also goes by half life, decreasing exponentially, so I’m not sure it matters exactly how much hcg was in your shot when it’s about 10 days after or more.

been doing IVF since October.
@italianmommy8 i'm so sorry you're going through all this. but wait, did they first tell you it was ectopic and gave you drugs to miscarry and then said there was a baby and yolk sac later but it was too late to save it? am i reading that correctly? isn't that grounds for a lawsuit if so? i'd give them hell! i hope you and your husband can talk this out and work it out. the stress of this entire process can certainly take a toll. please take care of yourself as well!

they don’t believe it was ectopic now or they believe it’s possible it was heterotopic pregnancy
but couldn’t have uterus pregnancy since they gave me the shots.
@italianmommy8 I have no words. What a rollercoaster. Fingers crossed that things settle and you get some peace.
