Re: April 2019 FETs

  • @Isthisthereallife I'm thinking about testing Sunday! Congrats on your BFP! (:

  • @ittybittybug-2 so great that things are moving along and yay for being transfer buddies! I know what you mean about being unemotional. I told my husband the same thing last night. He asked how I'm feeling with the transfer date approaching and I said I don't really feel anything weirdly. I'm anxious, yes, but I can't bring myself to be excited or worries and it's so strange. I guess the last failed transfer left me so confused as I was sure it worked that now I can't bring myself to feel anything. Although I think my nerves will get to me as we get to Wednesday.

I triggered on Thursday night. Had terrible bloating and cramp-like feeling in my belly all through Friday and Saturday, so hoping the trigger was doing everything it's supposed to do.

  • @isthisthereallife congratulations!!! So excited for you!

@crookshanks10 happy to hear the transfer well last week. Are you going to test early or hold out?
  • Hysterical here....

    first beta 1 day early - 52
    48 hoists later (last Thursday) - 95
    today - 195
i just got the results they said they were about viability of this pregnancy they wanted to see my beta in 400-500 range
also my thyroid level came back at 7.9 she said very high. She said should be less than 4 normally and less than 2.5 during pregnancy. They are starting me on medication.
    I had a miscarriage last cycle with betas 24, 48, 98.

I can’t believe this is happening again.
  • @italianmommy8 ugh I hope this pregnancy turns out ok. Your betas are doubling.. that’s supposed to be a good sign.. Miscarriages are so heartbreaking..

my anxiety is creeping in ladies. Husband is leaving for the week this afternoon so it’s just me and the week longer wait (beta is scheduled in a week: next Monday). Who else is in the post transfer wait period?
  • @italianmommy8 i'm so sorry there's so much uncertainty. I have my fingers crossed for you and hoping that everything turns out ok!

@somewhereinnyc i'll be joining you in a few days! How are you holding up so far?

  • @somewhereinnyc yea, I hear you on that one! My transfer is this Wednesday. Maybe with the nice weather this week you can fill up your time with some fun activities and friends? Museums? I know it's hard to take your mind off it and the wait seems to be so much longer during this time too.

  • And now the thyroid issue I’ve never had before

@Isthisthereallife Yay, congrats! So excited for you!

@crookshanks10 Glad that everything went well last week! FX for you. When is your beta?

@italianmommy8 I'm so, so sorry there is so much uncertainty. I can't even imagine what that must feel like. I've been wallowing in my BFN but your uncertainty sounds absolutely dreadful and I don't know what that feels like. Hugs to you. And I hope this turns into a viable pregnancy!

AFM last week was the worst I've had in awhile. I just kept having waves of despair all week. And every little thing was making me mad, especially at DH for no rational reason. But we had a really good talk over the weekend and I felt a lot better after. We have a plan for moving forward which helps some but also makes me nervous. I really don't want to go through another failed transfer. But I'll be doing things differently next time. As in, I'm going to MAKE SURE I rest. The day of and day after I'm going to limit my mama duties drastically to avoid stress. My mom will be helping with LO during the day while DH works to make it easy to do that. Even if I do everything right though, I know that it could still not work and that terrifies me. I wish this wasn't such a long, expensive process, but it is what it is. AF started on Friday. Next time I get my period I'll start BCP on day 3 of my cycle and we'll go from there. Judging by how things played out this time, we're likely looking at a July FET.

  • @italianmommy8 so sorry you are in this limbo, lots of prayers that your little bean pulls through.  On the thyroid issue...I never had thyroid problems until I did all this IVF stuff, the hormones can really mess with you I think.
  • @wifeinraleigh28 I'm glad to hear that you have a good plan set up and it helped to talk everything out with your husband. And hoping that July will be a successful cycle for you!

  • Thank you all for being there for me, I’ve been crying all night
  • @italianmommy8 had they checked your thyroid before? Hypothyroidism is linked to miscarriages. It’s not comforting now, but if this is the problem/ cause, maybe miscarriages will be less likely with thyroid meds. I’m on thyroid meds (and my thyroid got worse when I got pregnant- it’s pretty common) and I didn’t realize it before, but they definitely also have a positive effect on my moods. Thinking of you.. sorry that you’re going through this.

@Tulips29 I’m hanging in there. I stupidly took a first response test yesterday morning (which was like 2.5 days after transfer) and it was negative of course. I’m not sure what I expected.. hubby was leaving and I thought it would be nice to have good news before he left. Today is a busy day at work- which is great for me in the current scenario. Good luck on your transfer tomorrow!

@wifeinraleigh28 try not to be too hard on yourself. PGS does not detect everything.. like triploidy or tetraploidy or some other rare errors. Chances are nothing you or your little one did was the cause of it not working.. and your chances are still excellent next time!
  • @somewhereinnyc I hope you don't get your hopes down with the negative test. Like you said, it's still super early and doesn't mean anything. Being busy at work is a good distraction and hopefully the days will fly by until your husband is back and your beta.

I go back and forth of whether or not I'll want to test early. My husband makes me promise that I won't and I haven't the 2 previous times. But I also have 1 hpt left that's burning a hole in my vanity drawer. Each time I tested during my IUI days, the tests were always negative and the image of that 1 line is forever ingrained in my mind.

  • I never had an issue with my thyroid before yesterday. They told me yesterday that they tested it in October and it came back normal. I’ve done 4 cycles/3 transfers to date. They said my number was 4.2 in March with the last transfer in February that ended in miscarriage. Now yesterday very high at 7.9.

very worried about finding out my beta number tomorrow. I pray it doubled. I am going to see my primary care doctor on my lunch hour today.
  • *lurking* @italianmommy8 I was on thyroid meds (synthroid) during my IVF cycles, it is very very common...even 4.2 is considered high by every RE I've spoken with...they all want it under 2.5 when you are doing a transfer.  I'm surprised you weren't already on meds if your level was 4.2.  BTW, low dose synthroid (used to treat high TSH) is no big deal, there aren't any crazy side effects.  Definitely take something to bring that number down, it can take four weeks to fully take effect.
  • Thanks @sungirl39 I wasn’t told the levels they took previously to yesterday. my dose is 75mg every morning.
  • Good morning all. @italianmommy8 & @wifeinraleigh28 I hope you two are doing okay today. I know it's been a terrible couple days.

@Tulips29 How you feeling girl? I know the feeling of seeing the single line. It's the worst and hopefully that wont be the case this round!

    @somewhereinnyc How you doing??

@Isthisthereallife that is so exciting!!! congratulations on such amazing numbers! I'm anxiously waiting for the clinic to call me with the exact transfer time. They said they'd call around 11 and it's 11:15 and I'm about to turn into a basket case...joking....but not really! In a matter of 15 minutes I received 3 spam calls and jumped each time my phone rang. Hopefully they call soon. I've been calm as a cucumber until now and this morning I'm so nervous!

@Isthisthereallife awesome increase! I’m guessing next step is ultrasound?? Congrats :-)

@Tulips29 typical for our clinic lol. The weirdest thing about FET prep is putting on those hospital pants that are super baggy and basically crotchless just so you can awkwardly remove them in front of the team in the transfer room.

    @mackorori what’s next for you?

@crookshanks10 is your beta this week?

    Spoiler:

I peed on another internet cheapie stick this morning. Cautiously optimistic findings at 5dp5dt but super super faint. So I also peed on an FRER and same. I’m only on progesterone this cycle so no trigger shot..

  • @somewhereinnyc Beta is Monday, 4/29! Super nervous! I think I'm going to test Sunday on a  FRER, just to be prepared. I don't feel any different. How are you doing?!
  • @italianmommy8 how are you doing? I'm so sorry you're in beta hell. Have you been on the thyroid meds long or they just prescribed them?

I've been sick as hell since transfer and at the end of my semester so I'm way behind but congratulations to everyone who transferred as well as those who got their BFP! ♥️
  • @crookshanks10 that’s my beta day too!! Yah, pee on all the sticks! I’m ok. It’s nice weather finally in nyc and it helps to be able to go outside/ take a walk. I think the progesterone is giving me some funky side effects.. tummy feels unsettled. Otherwise I’m hanging in there!
  • @Isthisthereallife Huge congrats! Totally wish I was in your shoes right now

@Tulips29 Thinking of you today girl! Sticky sticky vibes!

I keep coming back here to see all your updates and to keep the spreadsheet updated, but I'll admit it's pretty hard to do so. Right now I'm trying to separate myself as much as possible from my failed April transfer. I'm SO, SO happy for those of you who are having success, but it's also hard to watch at the same time. I hope that doesn't sound bitchy.

    Thinking of you @italianmommy8

@wifeinraleigh28 Not bitchy at all, totally understandable! I am thinking of you. This journey is so hard.
  • @wifeinraleigh28 you absolutely need to do whatever is best for you now, this is such a process and we get it.  I will be thinking of you and stalking the boards to see your BFP on the next transfer!

@somewhereinnyc lots of prayers that line gets darker! We have an ultrasound next Wednesday (5/1), I feel like this wait is forever.
  • 4/16 8dp5dt 52
    4/18 10dp5dt 95
    4/22 14dpt5dt 149
    Today 4/24 16dp5dt 231 then 2 hours later in hospital 253

Nurse called and said although they are increasing they are not doubling and very concerning and likely won’t be viable again. Go back in on Saturday for ultrasound and blood work. 5 weeks today. Very upsetting.

    Anyone experience anything similar?

Last cycle in Feb my betas were 24, 44, 98 then went down and ended in miscarriage
  • I was rushed to the ER this morning possible mini stroke have no idea what’s going on but I’m home now
eyelids were droopy, disoriented, left arm tingly and numb very odd and I was so out of it
Really upset that my nurse said the betas are concerning and likely won’t work out again.
Thanks everyone for the support and well wishes for me. I’m 5 weeks today and I don’t understand why this and last cycle will end in miscarriage.

Hi ladies, transfer is done and now I pray it works! I had to pee so badly once it was done that I could barely wait the 20 mins laying there. My husband was sitting next to me cracking jokes that if I go pee, sneeze or cough the embryo will fall out so I shouldn’t do any of that which in turned made me laugh even more. We then went for a walk and dinner, which was a nice distraction from it all. Picture of my little embabie in spoiler.

@italianmommy8 omg I’m so sorry. Did they work you up for a stroke? Could the symptoms be due to all the stress you’re going through? Something similar to what happened to you did happen to me in January/ February. I did a fresh IVF transfer and my first beta was 157. Then it only went up like 30% every 48 hours then dipped and then shot up. It was not viable. I eventually had a d&c and they tested the products of conception. It was a mosaic tetraploid, meaning it had twice the number of chromosomes as normal in some cells, but other cells were normal. They say most miscarriages are due to random chromosomal abnormalities, but they also say that hypothyroidism can increase the likelihood of miscarriages.. they also told me that having a miscarriage meant that I could get pregnant and increased my future chances compared to if there was no implantation at all if that is of any comfort.. i hope things get better soon.. thinking of you..

@Tulips29 what a lovely little bug! The nurse made a joke about not pressing on my bladder to hard during the transfer last friday so that I didn’t pee on the doc 😩😩 I had a very very full bladder! But i definitely did not pee on anyone tg.
  • @italianmommy8 I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this. I have no words except I will pray and hope everything ends well for you! This process is never easy.

@somewhereinnyc I just scrolled up a bit and saw your post about a positive htp! I’m going to be cautiously optimistic for you!

  • @Tulips29 glad to hear all went well, what a cute little embie!

@italianmommy8 lots of prayers for you for recovery and that this pregnancy will turn around. Are you back at home from the hospital?

    @ittybittybug-2 good luck tomorrow!

  • @italianmommy8 I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. I'm praying for a quick recovery and answers you need.
  • Congratulations being PUPO @Tulips29! That is a beautiful embryo! And it looks like it's trying to hatch already! Welcome to the TWW hell!
@crookshanks10 my RE office is making me wait until the 30th! 😫 I'm thinking about just calling and rescheduling for Monday. Especially considering the spoiler!
I went in yesterday at 6dp5dt for progesterone check because my dear sweet husband and has been injecting my wrong. This poor guy thought he was helping me by ignoring the training completely and only putting the needle in half way as well as at an angle. It's no wonder I'm full of lumps! Anyway, progesterone came back at 30 and she said they like to see at least 20 so that made me feel better.
