@jennm0724 when we put new floors in they carefully took the baseboard off and put the same baseboard back on after the floor was done. I said no way to quarter round and we didn’t have to buy new trim.
@mama_bear19 my husband was just saying that we could try to pry them off and put them back on but he thinks they are pine and are pretty brittle.
@mamanbebe yes we have carpet. It was brand new when we bought the house almost 2 years ago, but with it being beige and having a dog it’s so ugly now it has to go!
@jennm0724 that is so lame they wouldn’t have tried to add on new baseboards. In my recollection, you often need a different height for hardwood vs carpet baseboards. We redid our floors in our old house and had to replace the boards in the formerly carpeted areas because they were much higher than the hardwood areas.
I report directly to two partners. They are very different personalities. One is a workaholic, martyr and we have very different views on life. The other shares a lot of the same views as me, but has a propensity to tell and retell and re-retell the same stories, sometimes in the same conversation. Oddly, the workaholic and I have really been getting along well while I've been pregnant. The story re-teller, however, has been driving me bat shit crazy! Nothing about him has changed, but my patience for his personality quirks has diminished to nothing. Anymore, he doesn't have to say anything more to me than "well, good morning sunshine!" and I want to punch him in the face. I've been trying to avoid talking to him because I literally cannot help myself from being short and rude. I don't know how I'm going to handle it as I start to feel worse and worse over the next three months.
@jennm0724 We moved into our house two years ago. We brought three dogs and two cats with us. The prior owner installed WHITE carpet! It's looks beautiful in the space and really brightens the room, but WHITE?!?!?! We've done pretty good keeping up on the carpet cleaning (we actually bought a rug doctor), but hardwood floors are definitely on our to-do list. We've lost a dog, but are gaining a child. I should start taking bets on how long the white carpet stays white...
@cindler I had a house half furnished with cream colored carpet and the only time it was a tiny problem with DS was when MIL brought play doh into the house. Hardwoods on the other hand, so many dents and scratches from dog sliding across the floor or DS dropping toys.
@indulgentgypsy I have 6 flights to climb to get to my classroom every day. And now every time I have to use a bathroom I have to go down at least 2 and then back up. It is hard to do multiple times a day while not pregnant...doing it while pregnant SUCKS. I have to take breaks in the stairwells on the way up. We have an elevator but it takes too long.
@strickland8052 I started crying yesterday when I went to renew my health card (which it turns out I didn't even need to do but the receptionist at my GP's office is a jerk) and they told me I needed my birth certificate and I didn't have it. I felt so dumb but I got so upset. On the way back to my car a lady stopped me to make sure I was ok. I had to go home for lunch before going back to work so that no one could tell I had been crying.
@Panaceia I would have cried too!!! There is nothing worse than doing admin things and then asking for papers that were never on any list at any point of time (France is also super good at this )
I cried during my visit to the clinic yesterday because I worried they would refuse to take me as a patient and it was the only one where I actually liked the staff...the gynecologist nicely told me that they offer acupuncture for stress management I was interested hahaha.
My complaint is waking up every morning at 2:30am!!!! I quit drinking fluids at 7 to limit bathroom trips and it doesn’t matter if I fall asleep at 9pm or midnight... as soon as 2:30 hits I’m up!!!! Sometimes I can fall back asleep but usually not. Makes for a very rough day.
Ugh. Why does heartburn have to be like this. It is 5am on my vacation. I am sitting here in excruciating pain. It’s almost as bad as the time I went to the ER. Work Mylanta, WORK!
@indulgentgypsy We always laugh about the fact that even those of us who have been climbing them multiple times a day for 15+ years STILL can't get to the top without getting winded. You would think it would get easier the longer you do it. Nope.
F***. Ate taco bell for dinner and woke up to terrible indigestion. On top of that DH went out with a friend "to have a beer or two" at 8 pm. I wake up at 3 am and see he isn't home and his friend's truck is still outside. It's now 3:45 am, and when I tried calling his phone, my calls were being ignored. He finally texted me back saying he was at the black jack table. I don't care that he goes out with a friend, but f***. At least answer a girl's calls so she knows you're alive. 😏
@shawnacrest my DH does that too! I try so hard not to go to the worst scenarios, but I always end up worrying! My DH will go somewhere with the plan to spend the night, but decide not to, so I'll get a call at 3:00 am saying he's home, don't shoot. Boys and their friends make very poor decisions!
Yes @cindler! This particular friend he was out with tends to get to get in verbal altercations quite often when they're out drinking. DH isn't like that at all, but all I could think was that they were in some sort of trouble.

We have an elevator too, but you have to have a key and it is not one that I have.
