@mom2b77373 the edges are the hardest. I still struggle with getting straight edges! One key is to keep counting your stitches. Chevron is more helpful with that because you have to do your extra stitches and skipped stitches at the same place (count 13, add stitches, count 13, take away stitches, repeat). Have you figured out how to read a pattern yet?
@nopegoat I have the same worry of not making it to the hospital in time, because of fast labor, and trying to get the kids to the in laws house.
My dr has the same policy, no induction before 39 weeks, unless they see it as medically necessary. My last one was induced at 37+2 because of very high fluids, so they’ll monitor for that again. I feel like we pretty much have to be ready to go at 36 weeks though in case my fluid levels leads to another induction
@nolemomma14 two of my OB's sent me straight to L&D when they checked my cervix at 38.5wks so I was kind of hoping this one would too. I actually picked this Dr based on her delivering at the closest hospital. Well atleast it was until they moved locations...
ETA if I wasn't already dilated to a 4-5 and 80-90% effaced I absolutely wouldn't expect nor want to be induced earlier than 39wks.
Wife. Boy mom x6. Expecting #7. Wannabe homesteader. , 💙💙💙💙💙💙
@nopegoat I was also 4-5 cm at 36w with my 2nd and 3rd and my OB did nothing. He was totally frustrated with the new ACOG regulations that moved "full term" from 37 to 39 weeks. He kept saying, "if it were a few years ago you wouldn't be walking around like this."
I have small-ish babes so I wanted to keep them in as long as possible anyway.
I woke up with cloudy vision and red, goobery eyes that I assumed was because of a pollen bloom. Almost an hour passed before I checked our allergen forecast and saw that it was nonexistent from all the rain.
The verdict: it took me an hour to realize that I slept with my contacts in.
Found out my work bestie has never seen the movie Chocolat. Since DH is out of country til the 20th, she's coming over to make puff pastries and molded chocolates next Wednesday night while we watch it.
Ok, so weirdo random pregnancy dreams. Might be kinda long for the weirdness...
So one of the many times I woke up and fell back to sleep last night I had this dream. My baby came early - like right now early! But for some reason the doctors said that instead of the NICU the best place for her was to add a zippered kangaroo type pouch to my body and keep her warm and safe in there - like you could zip open my womb and nestle her back inside with a little gap for air flow - and no one thought this was weird. And we kept trying to breast feed and she would latch on one side (the left, and honestly, always my better nursing side) but had trouble trying to latch on the right. Unfortunately on both sides she could latch/begin to suckle/ but being so small everything just spilled out of her mouth. She kept looking up at me with these wide surprised eyes and in my mind she was saying - "Mom, we need to figure this out. Maybe a syringe?" And I said to her "You are right Josie, we need a syringe or something".
She was perfect too - tiny, but perfect you know what I mean? She had these perfect little lips and HUGE eyes (couldn't tell what color) and dark hair.
@bartonolivia I got my one hour results yesterday and my level was 65. It shows the standard range is 60-139 (see spoiler), so I wouldn't stress. I know mine would have called if they were concerned, and they did not.
@indulgentgypsy Weird, but super cute dream. I dreamt I had LO early too. Pregnancy dreams are weird AF.
Today, I had a pretty shit day. My SPD pain and SI pains were so bad. Also, my varicose vein behind my knee caused me so much pain that I’ve been limping all day long.
On the bright side: DD came home from daycare with her first ponytail! It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. It brightened my day completely. She’s such a cutie pants!
@jenniferjoy37 Too cute! I can't wait to give this baby a "fountain" hairdo And hi kitty! @indulgentgypsy Gotta love those wacky pregnancy dreams. Isn't it funny how you can tell certain details and others you can't? (Like how you mentioned she had big eyes but you couldn't tell the color.)
My maternity photoshoot is tomorrow and I'm so excited! I think baby shifted overnight because my belly now has a flat spot near my navel...kinda hoping it goes back to my "normal" rounder belly for the shoot because that's how I've looked most of this time.
I finally decided on where to have this baby...I can’t believe how many times I went back and forth between hospitals vs clinic, private vs public...I Think my husband was about to kill me if I dragged him out of work to get another visit
I thought this stuff would be easier as a STM but increased knowledge (especially of what I didn’t want) is making things harder!!
@mamanbebe a private midwife clinic....they do have OBGYN on staff and met with one during my appointment who was really the person to convince me! They have 75-80% VBAC success rates and really focus on mental health of the mom. She was also really good about telling me the different scenarios that would still lead to a RCS and what she bases her decisions on. She also let me have the option of my appointments being with her bad a midwife if I was feeling anxiety or wanted a more medical opinion (but obviously the birth part is with midwifes)
Oh oh and I should add I chose the private one that was still fully reimbursed not the private options which would have cost out of pocket (one of the things I considered in my long process )
So refreshing. Got my roots done for the first time since July and I feel like a new woman. Not to mention my hair has grown from right past my shoulder to this in 9 months. 😍
@bartonolivia I'm so envious of your haaaaair. I love the silvery color. Making me want to touch up my purple it's faded. Also how do you keep your hair so strong???
Sick again apparently. Had to come home early, slept a few hours, seems I've lost some weight since yesterday. Nothing sounds good. What are you all eating when you feel blech? BRAT isn't doing it for me.
@foodislove I eat my bastard version of Tom Kha Gai soup... but I'm not sure how helpful that would be if you are sick. Bland food makes me feel worse. Coconut milk, garlic, curry, and ginger make me feel better...
@foodislove thank you! I usually use purple shampoo and make it completely platinum/silver too. I don’t wash my hair. Ever😂 like once every 1.5 weeks. If you see the warmer times in my hair up above, the darker color, that’s my natural hair. So I’m a complete natural level 8 blonde so lightening isn’t a huge process for me. I also only curl my hair if I style it. And with a wand and my ends are kept out so I never really put heat on the ends. I don’t actively try to keep it strong but it just happens 😅 lol
@ccmama3 my husband sent me an article saying it was going to get recalled. I had it on my registry. I took it off (made him feel better) I hadn’t planned on using it for sleep, just some where to set the baby while I’m downstairs in the kitchen or wherever.
@ccmama3 I did see that yesterday. That is what DD slept it from about 3 weeks until 2-3 months. She could NOT sleep on a flat surface in the bassinet. It was the only thing she really used. We still have it, and I’m thinking as long as we use it properly, LO should be okay. But I’m really debating... I think I just need to get another mamaroo. (We used our first one with DD so much that the motor broke and it was unusable.)
@jenniferjoy37 I am 100% still going to use mine. I feel like most of this is due to improper use. Just to add though, a Mamaroo/swing is also not allowed for sleep, I guess they will be next in the recall??!! Then we can add carseats too. Sorry I'm feeling a little sarcastic right because the only thing I feel like is unsafe about a R&P is the user not the device.
Since 2015 there have been 10 deaths: Each of the 10 reported deaths occurred in cases where the infant rolled over from their back onto their front while unrestrained by the product’s harness.
The warning recommended that consumers not use the Rock ’n Play with children older than 3 months or those who can roll over, according to the federal regulator, the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
So um, use your brain, strap the kid in and stop using it at a certain point.
@foodislove, yes I got them off etsy. I love them.
We made to FL yesterday. It was a 16 hr drive. It wasn't as bad as I thought I would be. Dd was up most of the night and slept during the morning part of the drive. Dh drove for the first half and I drove part of the 2nd while he slept.
@Bear14+ that’s how I felt too, that if you follow the directions it would be safe. But the hubs was worried so I took it off, otherwise I would have left it on my registry.
@jennm0724@hakele if Amazon continued to sell something they knew was recalled, they could be exposing themselves to liability. I'm guessing the only place you'll find a R&P for a while is second hand.
@asupernovablizzardstorm - Wherr in FL? We traveled yesterday to St Augustine. There was a family wedding this evening in Orlando, but dh and I have been to St A several times and really like it! He and my dad are golfing tomorrow, and my mom and I will probably take the babies to the historic part of town where the shops and what not are.
@Bear14+ I think the problem is the RnP was never intended for sleep, but it's been marketed that way. Things like a carseat, swing, mamaroo aren't marketed for the purpose of sleep. I can see how parents, especially first time parents, could easily fall into the trap of using it inappropriately. My DS1 used it for sleep until 5 months. He was definitely rolling by then. And we didn't strap him in. I'm so thankful nothing happened to him but I'm not sure I feel comfortable using it again. @jenniferjoy37 just to give you hope... same exact situation with my DS1. He would ONLY sleep in the RnP. DS2 slept just fine in the pack and play from the day we brought him home!
@hakele I don’t think there are very many of us in group 4 so even when we do it, Hardly anyone checks in I’m only on the app so can’t start threads anyway!
Hope you are enjoying your baby moon! Still have to wait a couple weeks for mine (going to Capri )
@ccmama3 I understand that, but how many people put their baby in a swing hoping they don't fall asleep? I think most people use swings as nap resorts. Just my 2 cents on the subject.
Has anyone drank Red Raspberry Leaf Tea with previous pregnancies, or is currently drinking it now?
I get the mama natural updates every week, and this week it talked about starting to drink the tea. With my last pregnancy i started drinking at at 36 weeks, ended up being induced at 37+2, so not sure if it actually helped any. Wasn’t sure if 27 weeks was too early to start it or if anyone has drank it and actually noticed it helped with labor and delivery

@mamanbebe Ugh, I started avoiding contacts a few years ago because I never remembered to take them out before bed. How you feeling now?
@cindler So pretty~~
Found out my work bestie has never seen the movie Chocolat. Since DH is out of country til the 20th, she's coming over to make puff pastries and molded chocolates next Wednesday night while we watch it.
im so jealous of your puff pastry party. I miss carbs!
