We got back from my birthday weekend/babymoon trip without my daughter and it was great. I missed her so much, but we had a great time and a mix of relaxation and eating too much at restaurants that we wouldn't bring her to. She did great with Grandma and Grandpa as well. It makes me feel a lot better about when I'll need to leave her when we are in the hospital delivering this one. Also, I think it was @heml that had asked me to report back. We stayed at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and it was lovely. There are a lot of kids there, but not in an overrun by kids sort of way. We still found it super relaxing and definitely plan to go back there. And I apologize if it wasn't you that had asked when we talked about it a while back!
@mkrel Happy Birthday!! I'm glad you had a great trip.
DH's birthday was yesterday, so I finally got to give him his gift, and he loved it. He's a very hard man to shop for, and not very expressive, so I was really happy when he was visibly excited to receive it.
It was me @mkrel thanks for reporting back! I think we’re planning to do a night there in June, prob more kids since it’s summertime but I bet it’ll still feel relaxing!
I am struggling this Monday morning, just feeling tired and blah.
I'm feeling less put together than normal. I have like no comfortable bras, and all of my clothes are too big. And somehow all of my summer shirts are either stained or have holes. I really need to go find some new clothes but I hate shopping. And going to the mall wears me down really quickly.
@Beauxbaton - I found a wonderful secondhand store that got me through with DD1, that way I didn't mind if I splurged a little - AND it wasn't at the mall. I'd rather take a hot poker to the face than shop at the mall.
I tried to give DH more of the mental load the last week, week-and-a-half. All it did was remind me how incapable the typical man is of multitasking on a 24-hr basis, regardless of how successfully they do it at work. So frustrating.

I'm feeling extra groggy and slow this morning, but we had a great weekend enjoying the weather (finally!). Pickle has been asking all week to go in the hot tub and it was finally warm enough to say yes!
In other news, my fingers are starting to swell and I don't think I'll be able to wear my rings much longer. I finally got them resized a few months ago and even sized up in hopes I'd be able to wear them throughout this pregnancy, but apparently not. I'm going to order a fake set to wear but I love my real ones so much.
@ElcaB - I feel your pain; I did a few sizing-up things to try and prepare and I feel like it's only going to work for the next 2-3 months, max.
The biggest pain so far has been bras, I caved in and bought two of them ($70 each because they're the only preggo/nursing bras I like and they're amazing ) - 1+ cup size and 2+ cup size from pre-preggo. I had gained 2 cups with DD1, figuring it was enough. Nope, I'm already in the 2+ cup size ... and I've got 17.5 weeks to go. Will probably end up buying another that's a band size bigger and/or another cup. Grrrrrrrrr.

@ElcaBit's called a Klein bottle (https://www.kleinbottle.com/) he's a PhD student, and this is exactly the type of pointless anomaly that PhD's like to keep on their desk to start conversations.
Also, I hear you on how having a great weekend makes Mondays even harder. I was running all day yesterday, and today, I could not get out of bed.
Baby shower this saturday and the weather has changed for that day, every single day for a the last week. Its been sunny on that day for 2 days now so I'm praying. I don't want 35 people and 20 kids in my tiny house LOL
My legs are going numb every night. It is driving me crazy! I already have to wear wrist braces at night due to carpel tunnel (same thing happened the last 2 pregnancies too) but I've never had my legs go completely numb regardless of what position im in. Every. Single. Night.
@sourlemon ugh I had carpel tunnel with my first - it’s aweful! As if pregnancy in and of itself isn’t uncomfortable enough. I avoided it with DS but this pregnancy my symptoms seems to be more similar to my first so I’m dreading that coming back. Are you elevating you legs?
@olivemomma not elevating legs...if i do that they go numb immediately. Laying flat at least takes a while. It wakes me up 3-4 times a night, so i reposition, get up and pee once i can feel my legs, then lay back down in a slightly different position. an hour or two later its the same old song and dance. Gotta balance that out with which arm goes numb and for how long because if i let one hand stay number for more than an hour or so (which is PAINFUL), it stays numb half the day.
@MamaK225 don't splurge just yet! I gained so much in my second trimester with DS2 and I didn't get any bigger in third tri. No boobs, no belly, nothing. I packed on the weight and size and then held steady. My body just got ready faster.
I am at this point where I have constant headaches and zero motivation for anything. I have so much work to do and I literally have not one single F to give. Also one of my peers commented on how "it's a little early to be struggling to bend over, don't you think?" Umm bitch this is my third time being this pregnant. And I have been pregnant way more times than that, so fuck off. I am so annoyed with her and would rather mess around on the internet and think of comebacks after the fact than do any actual work.
@lilmamabebe3 That is just rude. How can they possibly know what you're feeling and what you've been through.
@mamamias Thanks for the link. I haven't started one yet but I've slowly been thinking of things we'll need that we don't already have from DD and my list is getting long enough where I need to put them somewhere so I'll remember!

@lilmamabebe3 - I think I am going to hold off until it becomes apparent I'm going to grow out of my largest size. I do have bra extenders, so that can get me through the band size and then some. Plus, when I did order from them directly (Amazon didn't carry their bras in my size any longer), they were really fast with shipping.
I wonder if you're on to something, though. I do feel like my body adjusted MUCH faster this time (#2, so duh), but I'm just nervous because I'm still about 7-8 lbs DOWN from pre-preggo weight. So I had a dentist appointment today. Or I was supposed to. I showed up and they told me that since I was pregnant I needed a note from my OB. My appointment was at 3:40 PM and there’s no way that my OB was going to fax over the note in time. The next available appointment at the dentist isn’t until October so now I’m on the cancellation list. Grrr!!
@purplg8r WHAT!? That’s absurd! And routine dental cleanings are even more important than normal during pregnancy, so they def. shouldn’t be making you jump through extra hoops. I get skipping xrays, but otherwise...I don’t get what your OB is going to tell them that’s going to impact anything. I’m annoyed for you!!
I also had to get permission from my OB to be seen at the dentist. The dumb part is that I wasn't even established at the OB yet when my dentist called to get permission (I was 7 weeks and they don't see you until 8 weeks at my OB). So sillly.
@purplg8r@sourlemon Thanks for this ladies. I have my dental appointment tomorrow evening. I will call them first thing in the morning to make sure I don't waste a trip.
Omg! I have a dentist appointment Wednesday! I know I was seen during my last pregnancy so I don’t think I need a note but I should probably double check before wasting a trip...
also— I haven’t looked at the intros board for months but decided to scroll through it tonight... it’s crazy how few people are still active on here. There are so many people who have dropped off and tons and tons who introduced themselves but were never active. Just kind of weird to look at.
@purplg8r That’s crazy!! And frustrating that you have to wait for another one to open up. My dentist didn’t need any proof, I just told them I was pregnant and they skipped the x rays. I even had a filling redone (without being numbed) and they didn’t want anything for that. I was early in first tri too.
The dentist thing is so weird. My last 2 pregnancies, I've had a BFP then literally had a dentist appointment the next day. My dentist has been the second person to find out I'm pregnant (after my H) twice. The first time she even filled a couple cavities with no additional info needed.
That's crazy about the dentist! I didn't have an issue when I was with DD1, but I have an appt in two weeks, so I better call and verify. Thankfully, my dentist is about my age and her daughter isn't much younger than mine, so I feel she may be less inclined to worry about cleanings-while-preggo. Thanks for sharing!

@BigBadWolf12 We are supposed to get some crazy big snowstorm in the next couple of days. They have been frantically moving ball games and track meets. I finally got out my sandals and I do not want to put real shoes on again!
We're headed to Norway in a couple of weeks and the weather is starting to make me nervous. I had hoped it would warm up by the time we arrived, but it looks like it will still be pretty cool in the areas we're visiting (28-45 degrees Fahrenheit). So now I'm reworking our itinerary, which originally had us spending the majority of our trip hiking (low key) in the fjords.
@oklahomak as long as you have good hiking boots (water proof and with good tread) you should still be able to hike. We did the trolltunga hike in June (not advised when pregnant haha) and there was snow and ice most places still. We had waterproof high - ankle height hikers and they were perfect. If you're just doing low key trails, it should be fine. Just check if they're open - they'll be closed if it isn't safe.
Either way, I hope you enjoy your time! Hiking or not

I am eating Chick-Fil-A for the second day in a row. #1 I ever eat fast food. #2 I feel a morally conflicted. But goodness I can’t tame the craving for spicy chicken and pickles.
@BigBadWolf12 Thank you! I meant to send you another message about it the other day. I may still do that, if you don't mind!
DH is trying to decide if he wants to try Trolltunga (assuming it's open). I told him I'm perfectly happy to spend the day by the fjord with a book (and snacks, of course), but I think he's uncertain about attempting it on his own and leaving me at the base.

DH is trying to decide if he wants to try Trolltunga (assuming it's open). I told him I'm perfectly happy to spend the day by the fjord with a book (and snacks, of course), but I think he's uncertain about attempting it on his own and leaving me at the base.
